Sonic and Shadow had been together for six years and Shadow had proposed to Sonic right before going on a mission.

Sonic was at home worried right now.

It had been a month since Shadow left and he was busy fighting Eggman trying to keep himself busy.

Then there was a knock on the door so he got up and answered it to see Towers.

"Can I help you Commander?" Sonic asked.

"I've come to tell you that agent Shadow, was, killed while on the mission." Towers said. "I'm sorry." he said and Sonic stood there quietly then just nodded. "I'm sorry." he said again then left and Sonic shut the door.

Then he went and sat down and started crying.

"Shadow. No." he said. "First my family then Shadow!"

A few hours later he was asleep.

It had been a week and he was still at home and doing nothing.

Then there was a knock on the door.

"Sonic?" Tails said but he said nothing.

"Come on Sonic, let us in." Knuckles said but got nothing. "That's it!" he said and punched open the door.

Then they saw Sonic sitting there quietly.

"Sonic?" Tails said but got no answer again.

Tails and Knuckles looked at each other then walked over to him and sat down between him.

"You OK?" Knuckles asked.

"I've lost them all." Sonic said.

"Who?" Tails asked.

"My family." he said. "My parents, uncle Chuck and now Shadow." he said. "All because of Eggman."

"You haven't lost everyone."

"Yes I have."

"No you haven't." Knuckles said. "You still have me and Tails."

Sonic looked at him then Tails.

"He's right. We're a team and family. Knuckles is the biggest brother and I'm the littlest brother." Tails said.

Sonic said nothing for a minute.

"I lost someone else last week." he said confusing Tails and Knuckles.

"Huh?" they said together.

"I lost the pup."

They sat there in shock at what they just heard.

"Come again?" Knuckles said.

"I lost the pup. I found out a week after he left and was going to wait until I didn't have to worry about losing it to tell you. But the day after I found out he died I had a miscarriage." Sonic said.

Tails felt tears coming down quietly and held onto him along with Knuckles.

"I used a Chaos Emerald to heal myself." he said. "Now that he's gone I'll never have a family of my own."

"We were gonna be uncles?" Tails said and Sonic nodded.

Tails and Knuckles looked at each other upset and a little hurt he didn't tell them of all people.

"Where were you when you found out?" Knuckles asked.

"Seven weeks." Sonic said. "I should've told you two at least. I wanted to surprise you all."

Tails and Knuckles saw the want to cry in his eyes.

"Let it out Sonic. Let it all out." Knuckles said.

"You've been holding it in for to long." Tails said.

Sonic looked at them and finally gave in and cried so they held each other close.

"We're here for you." Knuckles said gently. "We'll always be there for you."

" Knuckles' right. We'll always be there." Tails said.

Meanwhile four people were watching them smiling a little.

"Look after him, Team Sonic." someone said.
