Ash, who aims to battle the World Monarch, Leon, and Goh, who plans to catch every Pokemon to work his way up to Mew, this is the story of their lovelife and adventures.
Goh POV:
As usual, Goh woke up this morning. Unusually, Ash was sleeping on the bed under him, not being subjected into any form of torment. Goh was ashamed he caught no Pokemon yesterday, and hoped he could soon catch one to give Ash a worse sleep next time. He stared down at Ash, who a few moments in later woke up as well. Goh looked at his cute eyes as they opened up, and started to gain consciousness, then looked over at Goh who was looking down at Ash. "Hey..." Ash said. "Guess you finally let me have a good sleep huh?" Joked Ash. "You're right, that was a mistake, don't expect for it to happen again!" Goh said, both jokingly and seriously, and saw Ash's worried face as he knew he would have to be subjected to that soon enough. Goh climbed down the ladder, and offered to get Ash out of bed. "Uhh.. no thanks, I'll enjoy this rare opportunity of staying in bed" said Ash worried, but Goh refused to hear it and pulled him up, then picked up his clothes and put them on his arms, and sent Ash off to get dressed, as Goh got dressed too. They were then called by Professor Cerise, who gave them tickets to something. "The Pokemon World Coronation Series?" Goh said, excited to see it. Even better, they were tickets to the final! "What's this?" Said Ash, which made Goh fall over at Ash's stupidity. He knew Ash was an idiot, but he would have to at least know about this, Goh had thought, but as it turns out, he really didn't. After they explained to him, Ash and Goh headed for the plane to take them to the Galar Region. It would take a few hours on the plane, so they looked for movies to play. "Hey, wanna watch another gay romance?" Asked Goh. "But you teased me yesterday for being gay didn't you?" Ash said in response. "I teased you for being you, not being gay!" Goh said, with a grin, that was both teasing Ash while also showing he was okay with Ash being gay. Ash visibly felt embarrassed about what Goh said, but it was obvious he already knew that, so he let it slide. After a long plane ride, they finally reached their destination of Galar. They got to the Wyndon Stadium, and witnessed the battle between Lance, the champion of Kanto and Johto, versus Leon, the World Monarch, and champion of Galar. It was a hardfought battle between two trainers of equal power, but in the end, Leon emerged victorious. "They sure were tough" Ash said. "Yeah, that Champion Leon was crazy strong!" added Goh, before being shocked by hearing Ash say "I wanna battle Mr. Leon!". Once again, Goh felt surprised by Ash's stupidity, as well as his confidence as the same time. He tried to explain to Ash that Leon would never battle him, but Ash just didn't care, and wanted to do it anyways. Their debate was cut off abrupt however, when suddenly the stadium started shaking, and the two boys rushed off to see what was happening.
Ash POV:
After Ash saw the greatest match of his life, he learnt that the Stadium he watched it in was being attacked by a Pokemon by the name of Drednaw. Ash knew the Pokemon wasn't evil, as it was Dynamaxed, and must have gone insane. Ash would have to find some way to help it. "Hey! Calm down!" He yelled, but only managed to get Drednaw's attention. It was good that it stopped attacking the stadium, but it was bad that it would now start attacking Ash and Goh. And so it did, using it's long neck to try and bite them, thankfully they moved out of the way before being crushed to death. "Looks like we'll just have to battle it!" Said Ash, always looking for a battle. "But how are you planning to fight a Dynamax Pokemon?" Asked Goh. "I dunno" Ash responded. He could tell that Goh didn't approve of this, but Ash believe it was all the more reason to try. "You stand back, Goh!" Ash told him, knowing he was too weak to help. "I refuse! If you're fighting, then so am I!" Ash knew it was a bad idea, but he liked the idea of his friend getting into battles, so he agreed. Ash's Pikachu used Thunderbolt, and Goh's Scorbunny used Double Kick. Unfortunately for them, Drednaw didn't even flinch. It launched it's neck at them again, and Ash commanded Pikachu to use Electroweb on Drednaw to stop it. Unfortunately again, it tore through the web and kept chasing after them. It almost reached them, but thankfully it's neck extended to the maximum, and it's head flailed around helplessly as it tried to reach them. Ash giggled at this a bit, as it reminded him of the pranks Goh kept playing on him. Ash always hated being the victim, but loved being a part of them regardless. However his thought process was interrupted when suddenly a red light appeared under Pikachu. "What's up, Pikachu?" Ash asked, worried for his Pokemon partner. Then suddenly, Pikachu started growing bigger and bigger, as it had also Dynamaxed. Ash was surprised to see Pikachu that way, as he was left speechless looking at his usually small partner suddenly being the size of the Stadium next to him. The good news however, is that it was now on equal footing to fight off against Drednaw. "Pikachu! Just use Quick Attack!" Said Ash, who's usual strategy was to fight with speed. This however, wasn't very fast, as Pikachu struggled to move around due to it's added size and weight, being unable to move very fast. "Pikachu, use Iron Tail!" Ash commanded next, and Pikachu grabbed it's tail and aimed at the ground, causing steel spikes to appear and attack Drednaw. Ash had no idea as to why, but it seemed to have an effect, so he was happy. The Drednaw then hit the floor using it's front legs, causing a giant stone wall to appear, ready to attack Pikachu. "Tell him to use G-Max Heavy Thunder!" Ash heard a voice yell. He looked over, and it was none other than the World Monarch and champion of the region, Leon. "Mr. Leon?" "Your Pikachu should be able to use it! G-Max Heavy Thunder!" "Right! I'll give it a try! Pikachu! G-Max Heavy Thunder!", Ash yelled, then Pikachu followed his command and attacked Drednaw, even destroying the Stone Wall that Drednaw had created in the process, and knocking out Drednaw, which returned to it's normal state. Soon enough, Pikachu did the same and returned to normal. "You two! Are you all right?" Mr. Leon had said, who came over to see the two up close. "Yeah, we're fine! Mr. Leon, thanks for the help!" Replied Ash. "I'm the one who should be thanking you!" Said Leon, with a smile on his face. "I'm Ash from Pallet Town!" "I'm Goh from Vermillion City!" "I'm Leon" "We know!" Said Ash. "You're the World Monarch, yeah?" Continued Goh. "I'd like to ask you something" Ash said, staring Mr. Leon right at his eyes. "Please battle me!". "Ash! How crazy can you get?!" Ash heard Goh say, but Ash was too focused on getting Leon to battle him, and instead ignored what Goh said. Suddenly, a man came over and informed them "Hey! You can't Gigantamax your Pokemon here!". "No! You got it all wrong!" Ash tried to explain. "We were acting as bait to lure that big one away!" Goh also tried to explain. "They are the heroes who saved the stadium!" Leon added, which made Ash happy to be complimented by someone like him. "Show them some respect" Leon continued, with the man apologizing in return. Ash looked over his shoulder at Leon, who winked at him, and Ash smiled in return.
Goh POV:
After yesterday being another day of Goh not getting any new Pokemon, Goh sat down with Ash at a restaurant to try and earn some of his affection instead. "The Galar Region's scones really are great, huh, Ash?" He said, trying to make small talk with his love, knowing that Ash loved eating them, and still did not know their name. "Ash?" Asked Goh, realizing Ash wasn't responding. He looked over to see Ash sitting there with his cheeks pink and his body immobile. Goh usually would love to see him like this, but Goh preferred to have it be private, not in an open place such as this one. Goh then noticed some kind of Pokemon next to Ash's arm, squirming around, then eating one of Ash's scones, which Ash would usually retaliate in aggression towards someone stealing his scones, but he was too out of it to react. "A Pokemon I've never seen before!" Said Goh excitedly, and then pulled out his Rotom Phone's PokeDex to check it out. It was known as a Skwovet. Truth be told, Goh had no idea how he would use it to put Ash in any embarassing situations, but he hadn't caught any type of Pokemon in two days, and refused to let another day go by without him making any progress to fill up his PokeDex. With the Skwovet caught, Goh's Galar PokeDex went up to 2/89. "All right! That's my second Galar Pokemon!" Goh said excitedly, only to have his excitement wiped away when he saw Ash was still too out of it to care. "Ash, something troubling you? Then you should tell me!" Goh finally managed to get Ash's attention. "Oh, I was just remembering Mr. Leon's battle yesterday!" He said. "Oh. I see" Goh said, in a saddened tone. "Huh? Can't I?" Goh felt sad that while he was making progress towards his goal and giving Ash his favorite goal, Ash only paid attention to his encounter yesterday with Leon. "You think about Pokemon or battling 24/7, huh?" Goh said, in a sad voice. "No, I totally space out if I don't get ten hours of sleep." Ash said, with an embarassing expression, which Goh thought was cute, but didn't appreciate seeing it in public. He wanted to be sure that only he would ever get to see Ash like this. Goh realized that the only way he could get Ash to stay with him, and pay attention, was to drive him away from Leon. Obviously Goh didn't want to drive Ash away from his goal, he wanted to support him, but not at the cost of his chance to be with Ash forever. So Goh explained to Ash how to battle Leon, he would have to join the World Coronation Series, which consisted of 4 ranks. The Pokeball rank, for everyone who was placed under 999. The Great Ball rank, for anyone placed between 999-99. The Ultra Ball rank, for anyone placed between 99-8, and the Master Ball rank, for the Masters 8, where Leon and Lance were ranked. "So I can battle Mr. Leon if I entered that?!" Ash said with excitement, which made Goh upset as he only seemed to get the opposite of the effect he was going for. "Think it'll be that easy?" Goh said, trying his best to keep Ash away from all this. "Why not?" Asked Ash. "If you want to battle him, you'll have to climb your way up to the Master Ball rank!" Goh said, which seemed to get the job done, as Ash stared at the table pondering about the situation. "Was that too complicated for you?" asked Goh, to see if his plan had worked or not. "Well, I just gotta win battles, right?" Ash stood up, stars in his eyes, which only made it worse for Goh. "Right! Let's do this!" Ash said, then stuffed two scones down his throat, and started choking. Goh felt worried for Ash, but before he could do anything to help, someone came and gave Ash some water to drink instead. "You really saved me!" Said Ash, and turned around to see none other than Leon standing there. "What?! M-M-Mr. Leon?!". "What are you doing here?!" Asked Goh, who kept failing at trying to keep Ash away from him. "You said you wanted to battle me, right?" Leon asked Ash, who nodded in response. "Um, but I just finished explaining how that wouldn't be so easy..." said Goh, in a last ditch effort to make it impossible for Ash, but unfortunately for him, he failed. "As the World Monarch, I thought I'd grant this young man's dream", Leon said and looked at Ash.
Ash POV:
Ash was filled to the brim with joy, stars in his eyes, that he would get his chance at battling Mr. Leon. They then went to the Wyndon Stadium, where Leon and Lance had fought the previous day, and challenged each other to a 1v1. Ash's Pikachu versus Leon's Charizard. Before they started, Leon gave Ash a Dynamax Band, and told Ash to wear it, as it would let him Dynamax Pikachu. Ash did just that, and slipped the band onto his hand. They sent out their Pokemon, and Ash started to attack with speed, or more accurately, attempted to do so. Whenever he got close to Charizard, Pikachu would just be blown away by Charizard's attacks. Ash hoped he would be able to have an exciting battle like Lance had with Leon, but it was extremely one sided, as Leon's Charizard kept damaging Pikachu with relative ease, yet Ash's Pikachu refused to go down. The one-sided-ness however stopped when Ash's Dynamax Band glowed, and suddenly Pikachu Dynamaxed, or rather Gigantamaxed, and attacked Leon's small in comparison Charizard with a G-Max Heavy Thunder. He finally managed to get a successful hit, and a good one at that, as Charizard seemingly took a lot of damage. In response, Leon Gigantamaxed his own Charizard too, and the two exchanged blows, until finally Ash's Pikachu fell. For the first time since meeting Goh, Ash had lost a battle, and an important one too. "Young Ash, give Pikachu this" Mr. Leon told Ash, and gave him an Oran Berry to feed to his fainted Pikachu. "Mr. Leon, I'm glad I got to have a serious battle with you!" Said Ash. "Battles are no fun if they aren't serious" responded Mr. Leon, who seemingly had the same ideals about battles as Ash did. "I like young, unrefined trainers like you. But if you want to satisfy me, you'll have to pop more!" Mr. Leon told Ash, who despite the slightly condescending words, was overjoyed to hear Mr. Leon motivate him to be better. "Mr. Leon, please battle me again some day!" "Our next match will be an official one, with a crowd!" Said Mr. Leon, looking back at Ash, who couldn't wait for his future rematch, where this time, he would prove his strength. Ash and Goh walked out of the stadium, and Ash told Goh that he wanted to join the World Coronation Series. Despite how Goh earlier tried to seemingly push him away, something must have changed him as this time he fully supported Ash. When they finally got back home to their dorms, Ash relaxed at the rare gift of Goh letting him sleep normally on his bed, without any tricks. "Don't get used to it!" Goh said, keeping Ash from any hope of escaping his nightly pranks, but instead of worrying about the future, Ash enjoyed the present and fell asleep, in peace.
