Heyo! As you can see, A Rosegarden Seedling is ridiculously long and you may not want to painstakingly read all of it. Well, for your convenience, here is a recap of the whole story!
(PREMISE BEFORE CHAPTER 1)
Sometime after volume 6, the crew was attacked my Atlas' air defense force. It went pretty terribly: their puny ship was knocked out of the air, lots of people got hurt, and Jaune did mouth to mouth CPR on Weiss and she started to have a crush on him after that. Ruby and Oscar got captured cuz of Ozpin and silver eye stuff, and they were locked into a dungeon and tortured. Oh, and they left Maria with the Relic of Knowledge and had her escape back to her home with it to keep it safe from Salem or something. Idk.
After a week of misery and impossible suffering, Ruby and Oscar, locked up together and sort of having small feeling, have a little fun because it has benefits of pain relief *immense cringing at myself) Qrow rescues them and wallah, roughly three months later, the group is camped outside of Atlas' borders, being mostly healthy now.
Ruby finds out...she's pregnant. It's a big mess and she tells Oscar about it chapter 1, a few weeks after finding out. It proves to be difficult to hide her morning sickness and such, and just her luck, she starts showing a lot sooner than she expected. She fails to tell anyone else her secret, and soon the group heads off to sneak into Atlas with a new plan.
The plan works, but poor Ruby is exhausted and feels really guilty. Once they get inside, they meet up with Maria, who is all welcoming and nice and warm and friendly. Ruby totally passes out from exhaustion and gets sick, and then, while the others are leading a big plan that I don't care about, to get the Atlas Relic and get Weiss back (she had to go back to her mansion in order for them to get into Atlas), Ruby falls into an icy river in Maria's backyard!
The group comes back just in time to attempt saving her, and Oscar jumps to her rescue. Unfortunately, the water clings to her clothes, and everyone can see Ruby's cute lil baby bump. Shock, horror, betrayal...everyone freaks out sort of. Mostly Yang and Jaune.
Anyway, Oscar explains, but everyone's still angry and sad and confused. Maria nurses Ruby back to health while everyone else does more missions stuff. Jaune feels sad and left out cuz he liked Ruby and now she is totes with Oscar. He beats up Cute Boy Ozpin and is mad.
After some random emotional stuff about Pyrrha or whatever, the group conducts a plan to remove Ozpin's soul from Oscar, so that Oscar can live his own life with Ruby and not turn into Ozpin, leaving Ruby alone. Thanks to that nifty aura machine thing that Ironwood has and lets them use, Ozpin's soul is transported to a kid named Jay. He's really not important, so no one cares.
Oscar is his own person now and Ruby and him are overjoyed! The group leaves Atlas and heads towards some other city, but then gets caught in a horrible blizzard and finds a nest of horrible grimm. Ruby gets fatally injured and Oscar runs away into the blizzard to get her some help.
After almost dying, they find a random town and hitch a ride with some guy named Sammy who takes them to a megacity and to proper medical help. By some miracle, Ruby and Oscar end up fine, and they find out they're having twins!
Blah blah blah, fuzz and fluff, whatever. Sammy pays for three months of hotel admission and leaves, so Oscar and Ruby rest comfortably in a nice hotel until she has her babies.
Oh, and after being scared to death about the rest of the group, they get back in contact with the two of them and do more missiony stuff no one cares about cuz blech.
Ruby tells Tai, he freaks out, but calms down and is all good ole dad, and comes by in Ruby's 8ish month to be with her. Ruby has her babies, names them Hope Summer Pine and Pinyon James Pine, and hooray, everything is great.
