After, Tex explains the real plan. Everyone gets into position. Kaede would be running escort with Sarge and Donut. She was with them along with Caboose wait for Tex to signal them to move.
"Please hurry. I don't know how much longer I can talk like this." Caboose says as if he's in labour.
"Here, let me help." Kaede offers. She sends her invisible arms to help Caboose in lifting the bomb.
"Wow, this got really light all of sudden." Caboose says.
"I'm using my invisible arms." Kaede explains.
"Kaede! We might need those for when we get into the base. Nothings more bullet proof. Not even bullet proof vests, which is just sad." Sarge says.
"If I need to use them to block bullets or attack, I will. But for now, its best I help Caboose." Kaede affirms.
"Fine." Sarge grumbles.
"I can also help!" Donut offers. "It'll be a threesome!"
"No! Thank you!" Kaede quickly says.
"Simmons, you and the two bullet magnets move to the right side and try to cause some kind of distraction." Sarge says on the radio. "As long as it draws their fire away from us and towards you I don't care."
"Try some dance moves!" Donut suggests, also on his radio. "Oh, you could do a musical number!"
"I'd love to see them do that." Kaede brings up.
"When we get back-" Donut starts.
"I said see them do it, not embarrass myself." Kaede clarifies.
"Enough talking ladies. Lets move out." Sarge says. The four move into the base. "Roger that. We are also in position. No sign of the enemy."
"Mahan, this is the easiest fortress invading mission, of all time." Donut comments.
"Maybe because its because it hasn't really started yet." Kaede deadpans. "Look. People are manning those guns." She points to a red soldier and what looked like Lopez's head manning machine guns over looking the two groups. The four hide along one of the smashed walls. "I don't think he see's us." Kaede states. Gunfire sounds out, taking a peak from her position, she sees the Lopez head firing at Grif, Simmons, and Caboose.
"Great, while they're focused with Simmons and the two morons, we'll sneak inside." Sarge states.
"Wait." Kaede says as a sniper shot rings off. "Theres still that-" She's cut off when Lopez's head smashes into her own before bouncing off elsewhere.
"Hyeah! Headshot!" Tex cries out.
"Oof!" Caboose cries out as he drops the bomb. "Why is this so heavy all of a sudden?"
"Its cause Kaede got knocked out! She isn't using her powers!" Donut explains.
"Caboose, get the bomb inside the fortress. We'll handle the gun." Sarge orders.
"Okay." Caboose simply replies before picking the bomb back up and making his way inside.
"Wow, Sarge. You actually decided to sacrifice yourself for someone else." Donut states.
"Quiet Donut! I'm gonna need your help. When the turrets kill Caboose, I'm gonna need you to carry the bomb inside the base." Sarge states. Meanwhile, Kaede and I will dispense some red justice on these guys. Donut moves over to Kaede's unconscious form.
"Kaede. Please tell me you're alright." Donut dramatically cries out. Kaede begins to stir. "Oh, thank the heavens."
"See, Donut. She can take it. Now get your muscles a workin. You won't have much time to pick up that bomb and go." Sarge tells him.
"Nyu?" She says, fully awakened.
"Oh! Its the other personality!" Donut exclaims.
"Nyu!" Nyu yelps.
"Whatever. Nyu can just use her invisible hands to dispense justice then." Sarge says. "Nyu! Use your invisible arms and bring that guy to me! I can beat the crap outta him them."
"I always like a good beating!" Donut exclaims.
"Shut up Donut, don't ruin this for me." Sarge grumbles.
"Nyu! Nyu!" Nyu exclaims before huddling completely to wall and trembling with fear. "Nyuuuuuuuuu." She cries.
"That ain't a good sign." Sarge says.
"Kaede said Nyu was like a kid, so she's scared just like a kid would be in a gun fight." Donut exclaims.
"That don't make sense." Sarge says. "When I was a kid, I wasn't ever scared of a simple fire fight. Did I ever tell you about the training op I had before begin assigned to Blood Gulch?"
"I'd love to hear it sometime." Donut says before moving to comfort Nyu, starting with offering a hug. Nyu leaps into him and trembles in his arms. "Its alright. We aren't going to let them hurt you."
"Hey asshole!" They hear Tucker yell. Its followed up with the red previously shooting at them flying and comically screaming.
"Huh..." Sarge says. "That was anti-climactic."
"At least its over now." Donut says, letting go of Nyu.
"Yes." Nyu whimpers out while nodding.
"Are you gonna be okay?" Donut asks.
"Yes." Nyu replies again.
"Mister sergeant! Mister sargeant! Come quick!" Caboose yells as everyone enters the fortress.
"You'd better have a damn good reason for interrupting our search. Can't you see this is a highly organized and highly motivated operation!" Sarge exclaims. "Did you find Lopez?"
"Someone meaner." Caboose states.
"Nyuuuuu." Nyu whimpers as she hides behind Sarge.
"O'mally?" Sarge questions.
"Meaner!" Caboose states.
"You found someone meaner than the guy trying to destroy the universe?" Sarge questions.
"Yes!" Caboose exclaims.
"Caboose, is that you? Can you hear me?" Church's voice asks from a console behind Caboose.
"Nyu!" Nyu jumps out from behind Sarge and runs towards the console, engulfing it in a hug. "Nyuuuuu." She purrs.
"Caboose, is that you? Can you hear me?" Church asks again. Nyu stops hugging the console and looks at it seriously. It wasn't Church, but it was speaking like Church. Why did it want Caboose? Didn't it want Nyu? These were questions Nyu asked herself as she looked all around the console as if the answer would just be around there somewhere. Nyu wasn't the only one who was confused.
"Church. I can hear you. Can you hear me?" Caboose asks the console. They both remained clueless until Simmons told them it was a recording.
"Move over brainiacs, let me see if I can get the rest of this thing to play." Sarge says as he moves over to the console. After bugging Grif a bit, he gets the message to play. Nyu didn't understand most of it but from what she understood, something bad was going to happen involving Caboose somehow. The message wasn't even finished when all the doors to this place started closing.
"Nyu?" Nyu questions as everything closes down. Soon there was panic.
"Just three minutes left on the bomb!" Sarge yells as loud as he can.
"Whah! We're all going to explode and die!" Donut cries out. This didn't help Nyu at all.
"Nyuuuuu?" She says, just standing in place, nervously watching the panic ensue. She didn't fully understand the danger they were all in.
"Simmons come over here, help me chew on the wall. We can eat are way out!" Grif cries.
"Fuck that, just get Kaede to cut a hole." Simmons looks over to Nyu.
"Nyu?" Nyu nervously asks.
"Fuck!" Simmons screamed, understanding that option was out of the question now.
"Hugh, just two minutes left." Grif groans.
"Men, I don't want this to sound pessemistic, but I'm absolutely certain we're all going to die." Sarge says. Die? Now that Nyu understood.
"Nyuuuuuuuuuu!" She cries as she latches onto Simmons and refuses to let go.
"I think thats a totally objective assessment of the situation, sir." Simmons comments. "Could you please let me go?"
"No. Nyuuuuuu." Nyu refuses. "Nyu scared."
"I guess this is an improvement to how I thought I would go out." Simmons says before giving in and hugging her back.
"Only a miracle can save us now." Sarge says. "We're all gonna die, starting with Grif! Everyone, get ready to kiss your ass goodbye! Simmons, you can have the honour of kissing mine. Church then pops into existence just outside the fortress where everyone can see him.
"Hey, everybody whats up." He greets.
"Nyu!" Nyu exclaims.
"I am so happy that you made it in time to die with me. We will get to be smithereens together." Caboose says happily.
"That won't be necessary, Caboose. Hey Gary, how ya doin?" Church asks.
"Not bad. although my static ion sub-matrix is a little itchy." A robotic voice says. Nyu looks around furiously for the new voice, but doesn't see anyone to go with it.
"Nyu? Nyu?" Nyu asks, every time she looks in a different direction.
"Computer can talk?" Simmons asks.
"The computers name is Gary?" Grif asks. Nyu see everyone else looking at the console that was speaking like Church earlier and heads towards it.
"How have you been Church?" Gary asks as the words he spoke appeared on screen.
"Nyu!" Nyu was surprised. Weren't people... not computers?
"Good, thanks for asking. Listen, could you do me a favour? Could you shut off the bomb please?" Church asks.
"No problem." Gary responds. The bomb shuts off.
"Nyu!" Nyu runs up to Church and tackles him in a hug.
"Hey Nyu." Church groans, frustration apparent in his voice.
"Nyu?" Nyu asks, getting of of him. Church didn't sound too happy. Then again he never did, but he sounded unhappier than usual.
"Don't worry about it." He assures her. "I just need to talk to Kaede when she awakens."
