After awhile, Caboose and Nyu collect themselves and work together to get themselves upright, and out of the base.
"We're okay! We're okay!" Caboose cries as he and Nyu walk out. However, Caboose trips and he goes down, taking Nyu with him. "We're not okay."
"Nyuuuuuuu." Nyu whines. She and Caboose felt better, just not entirely back to normal.
"Also, I see a big ship. Now I know I'm hallucinating." Caboose mumbles. Nyu didn't know what hallucinating mean't but it probably wasn't good. She didn't have to worry about it long as she slipped into unconsciousness.
Soon, Kaede awakens beside Caboose, feeling much better.
"phew, that wen't better than I thought it would." Kaede says as she rises to he feet. She then realizes what must have happened during the time she was unconscious and what a certain person was feeling then. "Sorry, Nyu." Caboose then gets back to his feet.
"I feel better now!" Caboose exclaims.
"Thats good. Seems the blood loss has wore off." Kaede says.
"Lets go and find Church." Caboose suggests.
"Yeah. Lets." Kaede agrees. With that the two find Church atop the base, looking to the other side of the canyon with his sniper rifle.
"Church! Church! We are all better." Caboose exclaims.
"Thats great Caboose, at least we all feel well when we're going to die." Church grumpily says.
"What do you mean?" Kaede questions.
"I mean, the reds called in back up. They have a new soldier." Church explains.
"Oh! I wanna see!" Caboose exclaims. Church groans before handing Caboose the sniper rifle.
"See him there? Right there, the yellow one." Church explains as Caboose try's and fails to find the "yellow one" with the scope.
"The one next to Simmons. Thats Grif." Caboose explains.
"The other yellow one, dumbass." Church responds.
"I've never seen Grif as Yellow. He's orange." Kaede states.
"Well, Caboose doesn't understand colours." Church deadpans. "That does not surprise me."
"Oh, that new yellow person, y-oh yes of coarse, yes uh, he looks very scary. Yes and uh I know that because I am looking at him, right now, yes. He is yellow. That is very interesting." Caboose rambles.
"You don't even see him, do you." Church sighs.
"Yeah and I don't even know how to use this thing." Caboose adds.
"How? You knew how to use it before?" Kaede questions.
"I did?" Caboose questions.
"Back to whats important, this is no good." Church interrupts. "Yellow armour. What does yellow armour mean, is that some kinda... special ops guy or... man this can't be good for us."
"Its fine. The reds promised they wouldn't kill you guys, so I wouldn't be so worried." Kaede assures.
"I'm glad someone trusts the word of the reds." Church says.
"I DO trust the words of the reds. I've known them for almost as long as you guys." Kaede argues.
"Fine. They may not kill us, but they aren't just gonna bring their new guy over here so we can all share a beer together." Church says.
"What if its a new gun?" Caboose suggests.
"What? Why'm I even talking to you, its a person, in yellow armour we already established that!" Church exclaims.
"Oh, no- wait maybe they got their own medic." Caboose suggests.
"A medic? Caboose, we are not that lucky." Church says. "Yeah, that guys is defiantly some kind of special forces. Probably trained in knives or... ball kicking or something."
"Ball kicking? Really? Thats what you can come up with?" Kaede questions.
"You wouldn't know, but it hurts a lot down there. The point is, this special forces person could completely and utterly fuck our ship up." Church says.
"Maybe he's an alien." Caboose suggests.
"An alien that looks just like the rest of us?" Church questions.
"And that is scariest type of alien." Caboose says.
"Yeah, and it can to spread some kind of infection simply by touch. And you'd never know it!" Kaede adds.
"Stop scaring me." Caboose warns.
"What?" Church exclaims.
"I know its not the alien thing, I was just playing along with Caboose." Kaede explains.
"I see. In fact, why am I talking about this with him? It would just be easier for me to call random people on the phone, and talk about this. They would understand the situation better." Church responds. "Oh well, look who's awake."
Kaede and Caboose turn to find Tucker has approached from behind them.
"Tucker! How are you feeling?" Kaede asks.
"A little strange to be honest. What the fuck happened?" Tucker asks.
"Oh, well, um, uh as you remember, uh you were impregnated by an alien visitor who was on a noble mission to save his entire species from de-" Caboose rambles.
"Can I get the short version of this?" Tucker questions.
"You gave birth to an alien baby." Kaede dully explains.
"Oh right, I need to start workin' out. Lose this baby weight." Tucker responds.
"Yeah you know we should start working out, you know uh especially some of us." Caboose says, looking to Church.
"Yeah, some of us seem to have let ourselves go more than others." Tucker adds.
"Are you guys talkin' about me?" Church questions.
"We're all looking at you, aren't we." Kaede says, not missing an opportunity to tease Church.
"What?" Church questions.
"We ah, didn't want to say anything." Caboose says.
"But we're gonna have to put you on diet as soon as possible." Kaede says. "And keep a regular exercise schedule."
"Fatty." Tucker not so gracefully adds.
"Hey back off guys, I've been under a lot of stress. I've been caring this whole fucking team." Church says.
"Where'd you carry us, to the buffet?" Tucker asks.
"Nice." Kaede snickers before she and Tucker high five.
"They said it." Caboose says.
"What're you guys doing up here anyway? And whats that huge thing?" Tucker asks.
"Thats Church." Caboose answers. Kaede looses it and is laughing it up, much to Church's annoyance.
"The reds called in a ship, and it landed on Donut. Now they've got new hardware, and a new soldier." Church explains.
"Who, that girl?" Tucker questions.
"Thats Kaede." Caboose answers.
"No, I mean the on in yellow armour. The one talking to Simmons." Tucker corrects.
"Yeah Caboose... wait thats a girl?" Kaede questions.
"Wow, you have really good eyes." Caboose compliments.
"I have to. I never get to use the fucking sniper rifle." Tucker complains.
"You're positive thats a girl. How can you be sure?" Church questions.
"Dude, look who you're talking to." Tucker says.
"I think thats why he's questioning you." Kaede says.
"What?" Tucker exclaims.
"We've never actually seen you with a girl." Church confirms,
"I mean, if I was a girl you were trying to pick up, and you tried all those pick up lines and strategy's I've heard you rehearse on me, I would think 'This guy is someone not worth talking to.'" Kaede explains.
"What? Thats bullshit." Tucker denies.
"Yeah, smart ass. How many girls have your 'strategy's' gotten you?" Church questions.
"Uh... none, yet." Tucker emphasizes the yet.
"What you really need to do is treat the girl like she's the most important person in the world. Don't 'be nice and be a be a dick to them at the same time' cause thats gonna send mixed messages at best." Kaede advises, thinking of the day she went to the zoo with Kouta and how special he made her feel. "Thats the first thing you have to know."
"...Kaede I appreciate the advice, but I think you've been with us guys too long. You don't know how women normal function out in the wild." Tucker says.
"He's doomed." Kaede mutters while face palming.
"I coulda told you that." Church adds
Doc eventually brought the alien baby up to the others so it and Tucker could meet. Once Tucker and the alien locked eyes, there is an awkward silence for awhile.
"So this is it Tucker. This is your little monstrosity. your little abomination of nature." Church says, breaking the silence.
"Uh, what do I do?" Tucker asks.
"Why're you asking me?" Church counters.
"I don't know how to be a dad. This isn't the way I planned it." Tucker explains.
"Maybe just do what your dad did with you." Kaede suggests.
"You planned this? Tucker, I had no idea." Church says, ignoring Kaede.
"No no, I mean I always wanted to have the idea father-son relationship. You know, where I see him for like eight hours every other weekend and send cheques to some woman I hate." Tucker explains.
"Your parents didn't fall under the 'ideal' relationship did they?" Kaede asks.
"They did, actually. It looked to work so well." Tucker says, almost nostalgically.
"Its emotional conversations like this that make me miss my mom." Caboose says.
Cabooses words got Kaede thinking. What did her parents think when she was born? Did they think she was cute in some capacity or did her horns disgust them as soon as they saw them.
"Alright look lets leave these two alone. Let'm do a little bonding." Church orders.
"Hey don't leave me here with him, what'm I supposed to say?" Tucker asks.
"Ask him if he likes base ball." Caboose suggests.
"Its an alien baby Caboose." Church reminds him.
"Ask him if he likes T-ball." Caboose corrects.
"Alien, Caboose. Alien was the key word in that sentence." Church stresses.
"I seriously thought baby was the key word in that sentence." Kaede comments. "He's been alive less than a day, whats he gonna know of sports."
"I'm all out of suggestions then." Caboose huffs.
"Seriously, don't go. I don't even know where to start." Tucker pleads.
"Tucker, he's part of an alien race whose sole purpose seems to be to tell huge, grandiose lies to people, so they can seduce them, and then, impregnate them. So why don't you start with that? You know, common ground." Church suggests.
"Yeah, I think I'll just stick to baseball." Tucker says.
"Tell him how his dad got to third base with you." Caboose suggests.
"Caboose!" Kaede exclaims, while covering Tuckers son's ears with her invisible hands. "Don't talk like that with such young ears present!"
"Oh please. Being around us, he's gonna end up hearing a lot of shit." Church says.
