Luckily Church and Tucker ran over to her rock to hide from the small army.
"Okay Tex, Kaede, now listen." Tucker starts. What? Tex isn't here.
Said Freelancer then uncloaks beside Kaede. "What the hell? Why do you guys keep giving away my position?"
"It doesn't matter, they know you're here anyway." Tucker explains. "Duck!" With that, Church, Kaede, and Tex duck, a sniper shot flying above their heads. "See."
"How did you know about that?" Kaede asks.
"I don't know how, but he knows EVERYTHING going on. We just need to trust him." Church explains.
"Trust him? Ten minutes ago he shot me." Tex brings up.
"How did- never mind. Not important." Kaede says.
"Whatever. I'm sure he has an awesome plan. Right Tucker?" Church asks.
"Right, now you guys stay here and distract they Wyomings. I'ma go take care of that fucking tank." Tucker explains before running off.
"Distract! How?" Church questions.
"Not getting killed is a great way to start." Tucker yells back. "Watch your back!" Kaede blocks some bullets about to hit Church.
"Jesus!" Church exclaims.
"Hey, why not use your powers and slaughter all the clones?" Tex suggests to Kaede. "Would've solved a lot of problems earlier."
"I could but... I'm not sure thats a good idea." Kaede says.
"Why not?" Tex asks.
"Because I could lose control and turn on one of you." Kaede explains.
"What?" Tex questions.
"You see, last time I went berserk... I wasn't COMPLETELY in control. What if I give up full control and turn on you guys?" Kaede worriedly says.
"Look, its easy to lose yourself in a battle. Try not to attack with total anger." Tex advises. "Try staying aware of yourself when you fight, if that makes sense. Keep your priorities in mind at all times. Just think of stoping the Wyomings, but doing so with a clear head."
"I... think I understand." Kaede says.
"So, you think its worth a try?" Church asks the girl.
"Yes." Kaede answers with full confidence. "I won't lose myself." With that, Kaede launches herself into the air and towards the Wyomings.
"What the devil is that?" One of the clones asks.
"I think they just threw a girl at us." Another answers.
"What do they think she's gonna do?" Another one questions. He was the first to lose his head. With that, Kaede alternated between attacking the clones and blocking their gunfire. While she was doing this, she heard the voice again.
"Keep going! Don't stop until everyone is dead."
'I'm going to stop the Wyomings and nothing else. I'm going to stop the Wyomings and nothing else.' Kaede kept repeating to herself in her head. As she fought, she felt the presence that present the last time creeping up on her, but she pushed it back. At least she though she did.
She kept slicing, disarming, and throwing whatever at the Wyoming's and luckily she felt in full control of her actions rather than a half control like last time. It filled her with confidence as she picked up a discarded sniper rifle and threw it in the face of a clone. She turned towards the rest and threw up a shield as they tried to pelt her with gunfire. As they continued to hit her, she charged toward them, shield still up, and decimated them within range. That was all of them.
Taking a moment to breath, Kaede inwardly smiled. Maybe this half controlling berserker rage thing was finally over. Music slowing got louder as if something was approaching. What? With that the Reds, driving the Warthog, barrel over a small hill towards Kaede.
"Aw man, we missed it." Sarge complains. "You didn't drive fast enough, Grif!"
"I was flooring it. This thing doesn't go any faster." Grif responds to which Sarge groans.
"Uh, good job Kaede. Though, couldn't you save some for us?"
"I would have, except I didn't know you were coming." Kaede smiles. "Though that was a pretty cool entrance though."
"Heh heh, well its just another day of being on the red team. Being a badass is our thing." Sarge chuckles before looking at Grif. "Well, its our thing for most of us."
"What! I'm the one who made that jump!" Grif complains. Before Sarge can retort, Caboose runs up to them.
"Hey Reds! Why don't you pick on someone your own size!" He exclaims. After a moment, they begin to slowly chase after him. The rest of the blues join up with Kaede to watch the event.
"Is he going to be okay?" Church asks.
"I am Caboose! The vehicle destroyer!" Caboose yells out as he is chased.
"I'm not to worried." Kaede says.
"Kaede, check Red base. There could be more hiding in there." Church orders.
"Right." Kaede acknowledges before running straight into Red base.
Upon entering, she carefully inspected the base with her gun readied and her invisible arms creating a shield around herself. After not to long, she determined the base was empty. Before she could report back to Church...
"This is Freelancer Tex broadcasting on an open channel." "This is Private Church broadcasting on an open channel." Said Tex and Church's voices respectively. They were coming from Sarges locker. Opening it up, she was greeted with the armour she had customized.
"Attention all blues! Turn on your radio and start broadcasting right now!" Church's voice demands. It was coming from the helmet piece. Putting on the helmet, which was pretty uncomfortable given her horns, she searched around for the radio function to quickly find it and activate it.
"Church, this is Kaede. I've searched Red base and its clear. Whats going on?" Kaede asks.
"Kaede, how did you...? Never mind. Just keep broadcasting. We're in kind of a situation thats hard to explain in a timely manner." Church says.
"Then take your time." Kaede responds.
"I've got a lot going here, just keep broadcasting." Church orders.
"But if we're broadcasting won't O'mally-" Before Kaede can finish, another voice comes on the radio.
"Nothing, why does something have to be wrong with my voice? Maybe somethings wrong with your voice. You ever think about that cock sucker!" Was that Simmons? Did O'mally infect Simmons. O'mally has to have infected Simmons. The thought filled her with rage.
"O'mallys caused a lot of problems. If we kill him, he won't mess with us any more."
Yeah kill him. She'll rip him to pieces slowly. She'll skin him alive and sever his limbs and gauge his eyes out and... wait, wouldn't she be doing all that to Simmons then?
"What is wrong with me?" Kaede horsely whispers to herself. This thing... whatever it was, was not gone. Eventually, Kaede stumbles outside to try to find her family. 'Don't kill anyone. Don't kill anyone.' She repeated to herself to assure herself nothing would happen.
Going outside, she finds the blues weren't where she left them.
"Church, where are you?" Kaede worriedly asks on her radio. With that, she was suddenly assaulted with a large headache. The pain was unbearable, what was this! Was this O'mally. Kaede fell to her knees cradling her helmeted head in her arms before passing out on the ground.
When Kaede awoke, she felt the weight of the helmet on her head was absent. Opening her eyes, she was greeted with darkness. Looking around, she spotted a soldier in dark purple armour. Who was this.
"I see this place is empty as usual." He said. Wait... that voice.
"O'mally?" Kaede questions.
"Which is a shame, cause you seemed to be the smartest person here." Definitely O'mally finishes. With that confirmation, Kaede quickly gets to her feet and readies her invisible arms. Her pistol wasn't here for some reason, but it didn't matter. She could tear him apart with her arms and nothing else.
"Tear him apart. Release all your anger onto him."
"You're going to pay for all the trouble you've caused us." Kaede yells to him.
"Oh? And you'll make me pay?" O'mally questions.
"Oh I can And I will I'm going to make you regret hurting my family!" Kaede exclaims.
"Yes! Strike me down! It is your destiny!" O'mally exclaims.
"Huh?" Kaede says.
"He is here. You won't have a better chance to kill him."
Thats was technically true, then again, where is here.
"You're certainly taking a long time killing me." O'mally comments.
"I should be aloud to take as long as I want." Kaede retorts. "Why are you so eager to die, anyway?"
"Uhh... no reason." O'mally says. "What makes you think you can kill me!"
Yeah, he's definitely up to something.
"You should kill him then. Before he can retaliate with whatever he has planned."
The voice sounded so close. Almost as if was whispering in her hear. She quickly turned around to meet another face. Startled, Kaede slips onto the ground as she backs away from the newcomer. Getting a better look at her, she is completely nude with a body almost identical to her own. Her face is wrapped up like a mummy revealing only one purple eye.
"Who... who are you?" Kaede asks.
"I am your guardian angel. Sent to send you down the right path." The new presence explains. Then, Kaede knew. She was the voice telling her to kill.
"You... you were the voice. The one telling me to kill. Sometimes even my friends." Kaede says.
"Yes. You see, Kaede. You have a greater purpose you have yet to realize." The voice explains. "You were sent to this Earth to forever change it."
"Change it?" Kaede questions.
"Yes. You see Kaede, you are not like most born into this world. You were given a power and a purpose to use it. But you have so far rejected this purpose." The voice explains. "I am written in your DNA as a voice to set you back on track."
"For what! What am I supposed to do?" Kaede asks.
"You were born to replace humanity with our own kind." DNA voice explains.
"Replace humanity? My own kind? I am human!" Kaede exclaims. "What else could I be? An animal! Is that what I am!"
"You are above humanity and further above than an animal. You are Diclonius. Your destiny is to end humanity." DNA voice says.
"Who are you to tell me what my destiny is! What I do with my life!" Kaede angrily yells back at the voice. With that, the wraps come off the voices face. Soon, Kaede is staring down at herself.
"You are telling yourself what your destiny is. It is in your blood." DNA voice explains. Kaede is taken aback by this. It all made sense now. The half control when she was fighting the zealots and the pleasure she felt when killing them. It was because she was meant to.
"Wha... what... what about Kouta, Church, Sarge... my family?" Kaede asks, her voice a whisper.
"They must unfortunately perish at one point or another. They are human. And you will grant them their end." DNA voice says. With that, Kaede collapses with tears leaking down her face.
"No... please God no. This isn't real. This is some dream." Kaede mumbles.
"This is both real and a dream. We are in your head after all." DNA voice explains.
"I... I can't kill them! They gave me everything when I had nothing! Without them... I'll be alone again. I can't kill them, I won't!" Kaede exclaims.
"Ssshhhhhhhhh. You don't have to kill them right away. They are still useful to us." DNA voice says.
"wha... what? How?" Kaede asks. Before DNA voice can explain, three sniper shots miss her.
"Damn it." She hears a familiar voice curse. Turning around, she sees Church standing behind her, his rifle aimed at her doppelgänger.
"Church? Are you really here?" Kaede asks.
"Yeah. Sorry for the mind invasion, but you look like you could use some help." Church says while reloading his rifle. Looking behind Church, she can see O'mally loading a rocket launcher. How he got that, Kaede didn't know. Looking back to the DNA voice, its face is once again covered. "Who is she?" Church asks.
"Shes... shes like O'mally, but me." Kaede explains.
"So that means..." Church trails off.
"Please don't look at her... me... us." Kaede quickly says, very self conscious her body was on display. She them sees DNA voice deploy the same invisible arms Kaede herself has.
"You should not have interfered you filthy human." DNA voice says with malice.
"Seems to me you interfered first." Church says as he puts his back to Kaedes. He faces O'mally, aiming down his rifle. Kaede deploys her own arms, facing her DNA.
"You threaten my family, even if you are me, I find that unforgivable." Kaede says.
