When Church returned, he was greeted by the sight of Sarge, Caboose, and Kaede.

"No, no, dammit! Whyhyhy? Why did you do it?" Church demands as he's let out.

"Church?" Kaede questions, noticing his almost desperate tone. Someone else doesn't pick up on this though.

"Church, you're alive! Yeah- I knew it. See I told them! That she was right! That we could get you out!" Caboose exclaims.

"Alright then, we're square Blue." Sarge says. "We helped you get your shiny blue buddy out, so that makes us-"

"What're you doing here?" Church demands.

"We're... rescuing you?" Kaede questions.

"Yeah! We traveled a really really long way to come to this place, and fought a bunch of people, and then fought a bunch of more people, and then we got you and took you and saved you, the end." Caboose explains.

"But why would you do that? Why!?" Church demands.

"Well, clearly it wasn't to hear 'thank you'." Sarge remarks.

"Church, whats wrong? Why is rescuing you such a bad thing?" Kaede asks.

"You fucked everything up! Thats whats wrong! I was at peace - I had it figured out, it was over! Put me back!" Church demands. 'He must of went through some Matrix like stuff where he found peace or something similar. And we took it away from him.' Kaede sadly realizes.

"Put you back? Buddy, we just fought through an entire military base to reach you. And now you wanna go back?" Sarge asks.

"YES!" Church exclaims

"She said we need you. She was the one who knew how to get you out." Caboose says.

"She? Who're you- who're you talking about, Tex? The real Tex?" Church asks,

"Tex? No, no not Tex. The new lady." Caboose clarifies.

"Way to explain, Caboose." Kaede sarcastically remarks.

"New lady?" Church asks. A large door nearby the group slides open to reveal Carolina. 'Nice entrance.' Kaede thinks.

"Hey there, Alpha. Been looking for you for a long time." She greets.

"Oh no." Church whispers.

"Now that I've found you, you're gonna help me do what I should have done years ago: you're gonna help me kill the Director." Carolina continues.

"Agent Carolina?! What are you doing here!?" Church finally exclaims.

"I need your help. I'm tracking the Director of Project Freelancer and you're my best bet for figuring out what hole he's hiding in." Carolina explains.

"Hole, eh? You know, our buddy Donut was always talking about his holes!" Sarge says.

"Sarge..." Church starts.

"Constantly trying to get people to look at them and what not." Sarge continues.

"Come on Sarge, he's dead now. He was shot, remember?" Church says.

"Wait, WHAT! Since when?" Kaede exclaims.

"Please. Kaede. Its obvious. Everyone knows." Sarge says.

"How! Did he get shot in the dessert? Thats where I last saw him. Why didn't we find his body though?" Kaede asks.

"What? Naw. Wash shot him in Valhalla." Sarge explains.

"Wash shot him!" Kaede exclaims.

"Shut up, you guys can talk about this later." Church demands. "What are you doing alive Carolina? You're supposed to be dead. This is impossible."

"That's a funny thing to say, for a guy who's literally a ghost." Sarge brings up.

"Yeah, uh, actually he's not a ghost... Um, he's a computer program. He gets holograpically projected on our armor when he wants to talk to us." Caboose explains

"Seismographic computer programs? Heh heh. Caboose, you say the craziest things sometimes. What an imagination on you." Sarge laughs.

"That statement would work if he wasn't right." Kaede brings up.

"Don't tell me he's got you in on it too." Sarge says. The group hear an explosion. They turn to see Wash back into the room, firing his battle rifle.

"Hey, how we doing in here?" He asks,

"Wash?" Church questions.

"You got Epsilon out, good. We can't hold them off much longer. They're not too happy about us breaking in." Wash informs them.

"Let me see what I can do to help that." Carolina says before running off to where Wash just was.

"Heh, same old Carolina. I guess coming back from the dead doesn't change anybody." Wash chuckles to himself.

"Washington, why are you wearing blue armour? Why are you wearing MY armour?" Church insinuates.

"Oh... Yeah, yeah." Caboose stutters.

"They sort of used me to... replace you? On Blue Team." Wash carefully treads.

"Replace me?" Church questions.

"I wouldn't really use the word replace... But there's no word for "Take over for you and make everything better almost immediately," so we just say replace." Caboose explains.

"He's been here less than a day. I wouldn't." Kaede chimes in.

"When did this happen?" Church asks.

"Oh, do you remember when you went into the memory unit and then everyone was sad?" Caboose asks.

"Yeah!" Church confirms.

"It was right after that." Caboose explains.

"Right after I left?!" Church exclaims,

"Well, it wasn't right after, you know, but you know it was like 5 or 10 seconds." Caboose says,

"You've got to be kidding me." Church says.

"Life is short Epsilon; we had to move on." Caboose assures him,

"I think I just got dumped by Caboose. This is unfucking believable!" Church sighs.

"Yeah don't worry, Church. Some of us are happy with your return." Kaede says.

"Yeah. This guy's been kicking our ass. It'll be good to have an idiot in charge of blue team again." Sarge adds.

"Some with more unhelpful reasons than others." Kaede says.

"Whatever the case... it great to be needed." Church groans. Another explosion goes off and Carolina's back in the room.

"Everyone front and center now!" She commands. Kaede quickly charges out and subdues the guards with her invisible arms, knocking them out. Everyone charges through the now cleared path, with Carolina executing the now unconscious soldiers as she went along. Kaede frowns at the unnecessary brutality but pushes on. Before long, the group is outside and taking cover from more guards firing on their position.

"Where's everyone else?!" Wash exclaims.

"Working on an extraction plan." Carolina explains. "They should be here right about-"

Grif, in a warthog suddenly leaps out from behind the guards and runs them over with a "Woooooo Hoooooo!" before driving up to the group and stoping in front of them.

"Now." Carolina finishes.

"Sup." Grif greets.

"Damn you Private Grif! You took out those two soldiers before I could administer my legal brand of red justice." Sarge abolishes "Now where's Simmons?"

"I don't know. He found another Warthog and he was right behind me." Grif explains. Just as he finished his sentence, Simmons pulled up with Tucker riding shotgun. His warthog was blasting some kind of classical tune.

"Present." Simmons exclaims.

"Wow... Nice entrance dude. Very thrilling." Grif sarcastically remarks.

"Hey, I don't need all that flash. Some of us have respect for the fundamentals." Simmons argues.

"Hey, what did I tell you before? You know you're not allowed to use words that use the term "fun" in them." Grif reprimands.

"I'm riding with you next time. He actually stopped at the train tracks." Tucker tells them.

"That's the law!" Simmons argues.

"We were under fire!" Tucker brings up.

"That's still the law." Simmons mumbles.

"So, breaking into this government facility is still within the law?" Kaede questions him.

"Well... no, but..." Simmons tries.

"Why bother with the rules of the road when your under fire from said government men?" Kaede questions again.

"Ugh... uh..." Simmons suffers with his moral crisis. "Uh... its important not to become complete monsters!"

"Simmons, only you could manage to make a high-speed chase boring." Sarge says.

"Thank you, sir." Simmons weakly lets out.

"I think I broke him." Kaede mutters.

"Whats that is that song?" Grif asks. Simmons turns it off before answering.

"Uh, it's a Bolivian Orchestral Mash-Up. Obviously, you haven't heard of them yet."

"Thank God for that." Grif responds. Church finally joins the group.

"I still don't understand. Why did you guys rescue me?" He asks them. As Sarge and Caboose try to explain to him, Kaede turns to Carolina.

"Why did you kill those guys earlier? I already had them down." Kaede says.

"No survivors. We can't have anyone know it was us who attacked this place." Carolina says. "You not used to killing people?"

"I am." Kaede responds.

"Good. You'll know what you have to do later." Carolina says before turning back to talk to Wash. Kaede can feel the DNA voice approve of Carolina's words, but she attempts to shrug these feelings off. 'Gotta keep an eye out for her. She's more dangerous than I am right now.' Kaede thinks.
