If there was something Lucy didn't expect to happen during her latest mission with Team Natsu, it would be finding herself in the situation she was currently in. As crazy and unpredictable jobs and missions go, this one took the cake as she was left utterly speechless and lost on what to do next. All around her was an unknown environment and from the looks of it, from what she could tell anyway, she might be in some random rural area. But it was unlike anything she had ever seen in Fiore.
Team Natsu's mission this time around, after recovering from the Alvarez war and the battle with Acnologia, should've been simple enough (both she, Wendy and Carla begged the other four to take an easy job since their injuries hadn't been completely healed yet). But when has anything gone the way the celestial mage expected? All they had to do was retrieve an ancient tome of space and time magic that had been stolen by a gang of thieves. Easy right? It had was... up until the last moment.
'Once I find Natsu and Gray, I'm gonna kill them if Erza hadn't yet.' The celestial mage thought in anger, her hand clenching into a fist. 'Doesn't help that I have to hide from the media now as well.'
Once the team of seven retrieved the tome and defeated the thieves, Lucy and Wendy were tasked with examining the book while Natsu, Gray and Erza tied up the criminals. Happy and Carla had went ahead to call the authorities prior to the fight ending and now all the mages had to do was wait. And waiting obviously didn't sit well with the fire dragon slayer or the ice mage. Luckily, Erza was keeping an eye on them but she, too, also didn't have as much patience as Lucy or Wendy.
"Why do you think these guys took the book anyway, Lucy?" Wendy asked after they finished examining the front and back cover. "It seems like they went through a lot of trouble for a single book don't you think?"
The blonde girl nodded in agreement with the bluenette next to her, not sure if she wanted to even open the book considering the uncertainties surrounding it. But it was a valuable question. What about this book could've drove these wimpy thieves to take it and why? Just one look and Lucy knew that, much like Natsu and Happy, the thieves weren't bookworms like her or Levy. Though, since space and time magic could work side by side, perhaps the book taught some high end level spells and tricks.
"I don't know Wendy... none of them seemed to have spatial or time magic at their disposal so for all we know, it's-"
"SAY THAT AGAIN, ICE PRINCESS!"
"IF YOU WANT TO FIGHT THEN BRING IT, FLAME BRAIN!"
Everything, in that moment, happened in a blur. One moment, Lucy and Wendy were going to move away from the two boys and then the next minute, Gray was able to push Natsu back to the point of bumping into Lucy which made her trip and began to fall over. However, a bright light began to surround both the book and the celestial mage's hands. It grew brighter and brighter, blinding the five mages, until it died down as quickly as it came and disappeared.
When Lucy opened her eyes, however, she didn't find herself on the dirty ground with Natsu on top of her like she had thought. But rather, she found herself sitting on an alleyway in some busy city street. There was a crowd nearby and when she looked at what they were looking at, her eyes widened as she saw some random criminal held some people hostage. The people were tied up and the criminal continuously dared for anyone to attack and call some 'heroes' to try and stop him.
The celestial mage didn't know what the heck was going on, but for some strange reason, she felt like she had been to this strange place before. But she couldn't place it right at the moment. Though, she guessed that figuring out why and looking for her team was going to have to wait for awhile because people needed help and no one seemed to be coming anytime soon. Lucy noticed some people in uniforms approaching and talking in what looked like to be communication lacrimas so help should be on the way.
Taking a deep breath, Lucy took a moment to feel the air. For some unknown reason, she had noticed it from when she opened her eyes earlier, but the ethernano in the air was considerably lower than what it is in Fiore. So it was obvious that wherever she was, it must be a place like Edolas. Of course, that didn't mean there was no ethernano at all and that fact alone reassured Lucy of being able to use her magic. She smirked, much like Natsu would when he faced off with an enemy, and took out Virgo and Taurus' keys.
'I'm going to make this guy run for his money.'
Subtly, Lucy changed into her Taurus Star Dress and held onto Virgo's key tightly. With one big jump from behind the crowd and a swing of her whip, the celestial mage had her weapon wrap around the criminal and restrain his arms to his body before bringing him up to the air. Then, with her other hand, summoned Virgo as the key shined a bright gold. The crowd and authorities watched in awe as the pink haired celestial spirit appeared out of nowhere and went towards the hostages under Lucy's command.
"Who the hell are you!?" The criminal cried as Lucy pulled her whip towards her, his body following to meet up with her face to face. "What kind of quirk is that!?"
Lucy raised an eyebrow before shrugging it off and smirking. "I don't know what you're talking about buddy, but I'm from the Fairy Tail guild!" She announced as the crowd began taking videos of her. "And I'm the celestial mage that's going to punish you for taking all those hostages, you creep!"
"Princess! I have released the hostages and moved them away from a safe distance!" Virgo called as she waved to her master, showing the hostages free of their bindings and now stood in front of the crowd and behind the celestial spirit.
With a swift kick, thanks to Taurus' Star Dress enhancing her strength and power, Lucy undid the criminal's binding of her whip and made him smash into the ground. A dust cloud had formed upon impact and Lucy just landed elegantly on the floor a few seconds after. When the dust cloud cleared, the crowd and authorities gasped as the criminal was left completely unconscious and obviously put out of commission. The crowd turned and watched in shock as Lucy changed from her Star Dress to her normal clothing.
Lucy then, without so much as minding any of the eyes on her, moved through the crowd and met up with Virgo. The celestial spirit had already gone back to the Celestial World momentarily to grab rope to bind the criminal. Wherever they were, Fiore or not, they couldn't just leave the criminal be. Once he was tied up securely, more so done by Virgo as she knew how to tie a very complicated knot (Lucy didn't want to know why or how), the blonde went to check the hostages to make sure Virgo didn't miss anything.
"You guys okay?" She asked. "Nothing injured?"
All the hostages shook their heads and while Lucy sighed in relief, she took notice of the lack of magic power within each individual in front of her. She could sense that they weren't your average normal person without magic, but she also could tell that they didn't hold the power to make use of the faint presence of ethernano in the air, their bodies unable to hold it from what she could conclude. Satisfied with herself, Lucy was about to take her leave with Virgo accompanying her, but was stopped by the crowd.
"Excuse us miss! Are you a new hero!?"
"What's your quirk!? I've never seen anything like it!"
"You mentioned a place by the name of Fairy Tail!? Is that your agency!?"
"Is this your debut!?"
Lucy couldn't help but feel claustrophobic with the amount of people bombarding her with questions. She just didn't get it. Just where on Earthland was she? What do they mean by 'new hero'? What the heck was a quirk? These people didn't know Fairy Tail? They thought it was some agency? Her debut!? Those questions ran through Lucy's brain, but she was immediately brought out of thought when she could see several journalists and more people in the same uniform head their way.
Meeting eyes with her celestial spirit, the both nodded as Virgo had an idea as to what the blonde was about to do. If Lucy knew one thing, being a journalist herself for a year under Jason, if she stuck around any longer, she wouldn't be able to escape the media and look for Natsu and the others. Grasping Virgo's key in her hand yet again, the celestial mage plunged the key into her chest and transformed into her Virgo Star Dress (much to many of the males present's pleasure) and smiled sheepishly.
"Oh look at that? I got to go! Bye!"
"Princess now!"
And that's how Lucy found herself in some residential area, far from where she had defeated that criminal. She and Virgo had dug into sewer tunnels and just as Virgo was about to return to the Celestial World, she told the blonde that the space and time book was being kept under Loke's protection as she fixed the hole they created. Lucy was then stuck walking through the sewers on her own, but luckily Plue joined her for half of the time. He didn't use up much magic energy or ethernano so the blonde was glad he could stick around.
After taking many turns and walking for what felt like a whole day, Lucy finally got out of the sewer tunnels and still in her Virgo Star Dress, busted open the manhole lid so that she could climb out. Surprisingly, she hadn't been walking for as long as she thought since the sun was still at its highest peak, meaning it was still the afternoon. Maybe all that running from enemies, the rune knights and so on did something good for her stamina after all.
Once she was out, the blonde dismissed her Star Dress again and was back in her normal clothes. Thankfully, her normal clothes didn't keep the sewer smell and she kept a small bottle of perfume with her to block the smell from her skin. Now all Lucy had to do was figure out two things: first find where Natsu and the others are and second, find a place to stay because for some reason her intuition told her that people might not accept jewels as payment which was quite troublesome.
"So much for an easy job with an easy pay." Lucy continued to whine to herself, her shoulders slumped forward. "Though, I guess I could try to remember why this place seems vaguely familiar. It seems more modern than Magnolia's residential areas... but it looks nothing like big city residential areas such as Crocus. So why-"
"Excuse me, miss? Are you perhaps lost?"
Lucy's body jolted for a second at the voice of another woman. Embarrassed, Lucy began scratching the back of her head as she blushed and greeted the woman with a smile. "Unfortunately yes." She admitted. "You see, I'm not all too familiar with this place and I lost track of my friends so I'm kind of in a dilemma right now."
The woman chuckled and smiled in return, sensing Lucy's kindness from her voice. "It happens sometimes, my dear." She replied. "By the way, are you a hero in training?"
"Hero in training?"
"Oh, are you not? It's just, you carry a whip there and all..."
"I wouldn't call myself a hero in training per say... but I wouldn't call myself a hero either, if that makes sense." Lucy replied again, causing the woman to tilt her head in confusion. "Again, I'm not really familiar with anything around here sadly. Oh! And my name is Lucy Heartfilia, by the way."
At the blonde's introduction, a gasp came from the woman's lips. Lucy looked at the woman with a confused look, scanning the area to see if anything spooked her. "Lucy?"
"Yes?"
"Do... Do you perhaps not remember me? It's me, auntie Inko."
The halls of U.A high school were louder than usual, from what Midoriya could observe anyway. It had been just a few days after the culture festival and Class 1-A had just come back from their lunch break in high spirits. Most of them had eaten their lunch up on the roof while the rest stayed in class. Iida had been curious about how the raid with the Shie Hassaikai yakuza went down and both Midoriya and Uraraka had yet to flesh out the details, so they decided that storytelling be done on the roof.
Upon overhearing the trio's decision, Ashido then gathered Kirishima and Asui to join in. Everyone besides Tokoyami, Mineta, Koda and Aoyama had joined to hear what the work studies students say. Even Bakugo came along, though he insisted that Kirishima wouldn't shut up if he hadn't gone otherwise. It was fun talking about what the four of them learned and hearing their descriptions of each fight was just as interesting. But when lunch ended and they all made their way to class, the halls seemed to be in excited chaos.
"What do you think has gotten everyone so hyper, Deku?" Uraraka asked the greenette.
Midoriya could only shrug, the noise of everyone's chattering too inaudible for him to understand. But when the group of sixteen made it to their classroom, Mineta greeted them at the door with an excited look that mirrored the rest of the student body. Upon looking inside the room, everyone saw Koda and Aoyama standing behind Tokoyami's desk as they watched something on his phone with much interest. Which was a lot considering Tokoyami always seemed to have a pokerface half of the time.
"You guys! Have you heard!? Some new female hero apparently made her debut yesterday afternoon!" Mineta announced, peaking many of the students' curiosity. "The news just reported on it today!"
"A new female hero!?" Midoriya asked with much excitement about learning of a new hero, the class chuckling at his giddy expression while Bakugo just scoffed. "What's her quirk!? What's her hero name!? Why are you freaking out-"
"Relax and take a breath, Midoriya." Todoroki reminded him as the boy paused and laughed sheepishly, letting everyone into the class before gathering at Tokoyami's desk.
On his phone screen was a video from the news on the internet, showing the quick and clean fight of the unknown blonde woman who demonstrated a quirk none had ever seen. "Not only did she change out of her hero costume in a literal flash of light, it seems she can also call upon allies with the use of that golden charm in her hand." Tokoyami explained.
"A lot of news people are trying to figure out her identity as well." Koda added. "She never mentioned her name but she had claimed herself as a celestial mage and her companion also addressed her as 'Princess'."
"A princess!?" The girls exclaimed as Aoyama flipped his hair.
"Oui! But for a princess, she sure doesn't twinkle like I do!" He replied, which went unheard by everyone else.
"Bystanders also heard her claim that she's a part of some agency called Fairy Tale, but no one's ever heard of an agency from that name." Mineta continued, before jumping onto Tokoyami's desk, much to the boy's annoyance. "But that's not important right now! Look at her beauty! Her figure! She's more of a goddess than even Mt. Lady!"
While everyone chose to ignore Mineta's comments, Midoriya couldn't help but stare at blonde woman on the screen. The looping video of her jumping up from behind the crowd and her kicking the villain out of commission, the greenette couldn't help but feel like the woman was familiar. Her movements were swift and the power in her kick was not something to scoff at. He also had a feeling that the only reason she was getting so much coverage was due to her strange quirk.
Midoriya then looked over to see everyone watch the video with as much interest but what he didn't expect was for Bakugo, who was behind him, to have a look of pure confusion and... slight surprise. The ash blonde's eyes had widened slightly and his mouth was agape. Midoriya didn't have to guess to know that Bakugo either also had the same familiar feeling as he or if he actually somehow knew the unknown woman for whatever reason.
"Um... Kacchan do you think she's familiar too?" The greenette asked in a hush whisper.
Rather than yelling at him like he expected, Bakugo only looked at Midoriya with the same surprised look. "Oi Deku... do we know-"
Unfortunately for both of them, Aizawa had slammed the door open which cut Bakugo's question off. With a simple glare from the underground pro hero, everyone immediately retreated to their seats. Sadly, Midoriya wasn't able to ask Bakugo to finish his question. He'll just have to ask for an explanation once class was over. It was clear that his and Bakugo's thoughts lined up for once: why exactly did that girl seem so familiar to just the both of them?
Once Aizawa was positioned in front of the class, he sighed and placed his files on the desk. "I'm sure you've all heard by now of the grand appearance of a new hero and are curious as to who she is." He began to say. "You'll find that out in due time, but right now you need to focus on your studies."
It was then that Ashido raised her hand to speak. "Aw c'mon sensei, aren't you the least bit curious as well?"
Aizawa just sighed and leaned his body against the blackboard behind him while crossing his arms. "I would be lying if I said I wasn't. However, that woman left as quickly as she appeared and no one knows anything about her." He replied. "One thing I can guarantee you, though, is that there is no agency in Japan, or the world for that matter, that goes by the name of Fairy Tale."
The class had gone quiet with those words and that prompted Aizawa to continue with his class agenda. He informed everyone to grab their hero costumes and head towards the Gamma Gym for training. When everyone did arrive, All Might was already waiting for them inside. The field already having been prepared in advance thanks to Cementoss a few minutes prior. Everyone immediately got down to business while Aizawa and All Might supervised from the sidelines.
The two teachers watched in silence at the students' progress. Normally, All Might wouldn't be present during the first half of their time in the training field, but Aizawa could sense that the former number one hero wanted to say something. Or to be more accurate, was anticipating something. The black headed man didn't know what to make of his feelings but he didn't sense any serious danger from it so he trusted All Might. After all, the blonde wouldn't be able to do anything spontaneous without Nezu's approaval.
As time went on, Aizawa couldn't help but soothe his building curiosity. Turning away from his students, he looked at All Might and crossed his arms. The blonde man noticing this also crossed his arms but kept his eyes on the students' performance. "Something on your mind, Aizawa?"
"I'm just going to go straight to the point. What exactly are you waiting for?"
All Might just chuckled and leaned back against the wall as Aizawa's eyes followed him. "Nezu told me an interesting visitor came to campus with the company of Young Midoriya's mother."
That answer was definitely something Aizawa didn't expect. "Midoriya's mother?"
All Might nodded as his eyes naturally drifted to his successor. "I was confused as well, I thought the woman heard about Young Midoriya's injuries during the yakuza raid. But she quickly left after leaving the visitor with Nezu from what he's told me."
"Did Nezu tell you who this visitor is?"
"Not specifically." All Might replied. "Though he did guarantee me that they were of no threat to U.A and that they would drop by here during your class' training session."
At those words, Aizawa groaned in annoyance as he massaged his temples. "Why is it always my class..."
All Might laughed and patted the underground hero on the back. "I'm sure we'll understand why soon enough." He said in a reassuring tone. "As well as why Young Midoriya's mother is the one to bring them despite leaving right after dropping them off."
Meanwhile, as the two teachers were deep in conversation, Iida was helping Midoriya with his shoot fight style. The two had come very far since their working together unlocked different possibilities to use their quirks in ways they themselves hadn't thought of. Uraraka was somewhere with some of the girls, brainstorming on different attacks as they trained. Bakugo, on the other hand, was thrashing cement block after cement block per usual with Kaminari and Kirishima near him.
The ash blonde boy, though was in tip top form as usual, couldn't help but be distracted. The blonde woman that showed up on the news, he knew for a fact that he knows her. But for some reason, he couldn't place a name to her face. She was familiar, too familiar. And not only did he think so, but that damn Deku did too. No one else seemed to have the same feeling of familiarity so it only made sense for him to conclude that she must've met him and Deku when they were kids.
Bakugo then went through his fading childhood memories, trying to connect the blonde woman's face with someone from his childhood. The woman was obviously older than him and Deku but he only remembered beating up older male kids. Nor did he remember anyone with a quirk like that. However, before he could even think of the seventh person, a body came crashing into his own and to his (sarcastic) shock, it just had to be the dumb nerd he couldn't stand to even be in the same vicinity as.
"U-Uh K-Kacchan! H-Hold on! It was an accident!" Midoriya cried as he could already feel impending explosions heading his way.
As he thought, the ash blonde boy growled in anger and small explosions came on his hands. "You must be really asking to die today, Deku." He said in an intimidating voice. "Crashing into me... YOU TRYING TO PICK A FIGHT, HUH!?"
It was when Bakugo's yells echoed through the training field that Aizawa and All Might broke out of their conversation and noticed the ash blonde boy going in to attack Midoriya, the greenette getting ready to dodge. Both teachers were about to go run in and stop him, but a silhouette jumped into action before they could even yell out Bakugo's name. The rest of Class 1-A watched as Bakugo made an explosion and wondered about Midoriya's condition. But their mouth's dropped at the sight.
Midoriya stared with shocked wide eyes as the blonde woman from the news stood in front of him in a completely different outfit of blue and gold rather than the one in the video, a sort of water wall standing between her and Bakugo which had completely protected the both of him from his explosions. She had an excited smirk on her face while Bakugo was even more angered at the fact that someone had completely negated his attack without so much as an inch of effort from the looks of it.
Despite knowing he knew nothing about her quirk, the ash blonde boy dared to continue the fight. "What the hell do you think you're doing, blondie!? How dare you get in my way!"
"No way! It's the girl from the news!" Ojiro cried as the rest of Class 1-A stared dumbfounded.
"Still the same as ever, I see." The blonde woman muttered under her breath that only Midoriya could hear. He watched as she used her left hand to grab something from the pouch the hanged on the right side of her hip. "Still picking on extras, are you now?"
"WHAT'S IT TO YOU!? JUST STOP TALKING AND GET OUT OF MY WAY, BLONDIE!"
Before Bakugo could try to break her water wall or try to jump over it, Midoriya watched as the blonde woman took hold of a different golden charm (he noticed it looked more like a key than anything) than the one from the video, a golden glow surrounding the bottom of it. "Open. Gate of the Twins. Gemini."
A flash of golden light came and went and Midoriya watched in astonishment as a carbon copy of Bakugo came from it and stopped the real Bakugo from attacking the blonde woman by grabbing ahold of his hands. The entire class, along with Aizawa and All Might, gasped as they were confused with what they were looking at. The real Bakugo tried to push through against the fake one but was only met with his own weight used against him, the fake pulling him down to the ground before restraining the real one's hands behind his back.
'Just what kind of quirk is that!?' Everyone thought as the blonde brought down her water wall.
"HEY! WHAT THE HELL!? GET THIS FAKE OFF OF ME!" Bakugo demanded.
The blonde only shook her head, a disappointed smile across her face. Crouching down into an asian squat to meet the real Bakugo's gaze, as her outfit changed to that of her normal clothes from the looks of things, the woman looked up at the other Bakugo. "Gemini, a status report on his training process please."
"He's quite strong in power, strength, speed and technique. His understanding of his quirk is also quite remarkable. However, his anger and pride does sometimes cloud his judgement in how to act, but that's more of a personality trait if anything else. Hs teamwork skills are also improving and he knows better than to underestimate his foes and allies due to personal defeats."
"HEY BLONDIE! MIND TELLING ME WHAT'S YOUR DEAL!? HOW THE HECK DOES THIS FAKE KNOW THAT SHIT!?"
The woman averted her eyes from the other Bakugo to look at the real one, an innocent smile that clearly held her annoyance plastered across your face. "Even after all this time, you still don't know how to address people do you?" She asked, causing both Bakugo and Midoriya's eyes to widen. "How many times have I told you to address your older sister properly... Katsuki Bakugo?"
A chill went down everyone's spines at the tone of her voice. Ignoring the fact that she basically called Bakugo by his full name, Midoriya and Bakugo's eyes widened as both their voices came out to ask the same question. "Older... sister?"
Hearing Midoriya's voice, Lucy turned behind her to look at the greenette with a soft smile. "Don't tell me you forgot about me too, Izuku? I mean, I had every right to forget because I thought it was a dream but you two? Auntie Inko and auntie Mitsuki remember everything for crying out loud!"
At that moment, the gears of memory began to turn in both Midoriya's and Bakugo's head. The distant memory of a girl older by three years living with Bakugo's family for about a month and the three of them saying goodbye when a weird looking goat man and blonde lady came to the Bakugo family's door to bring her home. That same girl had been their 'older sister' and was always the one keeping Bakugo in check whenever it came to teasing Midoriya while encouraging Midoriya to always follow his dreams no matter what.
When the two boys realized just who Lucy was to them in the past, Midoriya's and (SUPRISINGLY) Bakugo's eyes began to water with tears.
"Lucy?"
"Big Sister Lucy?"
Lucy smiled as she was glad that the two remembered her. All this time, she had thought everything from that amazing adventure had been a dream, but in reality it had indeed happened. With that, despite the utterly confused audience watching their reunion, Lucy dismissed Gemini back to the Celestial World and pulled the two boys into a much needed group hug. Bakugo from her right (he was too in shock to hug her) and Midoriya on her left (he had already began bawling tears like when Juvia cries over Gray).
"That's right you guys... I've finally come back for a visit."
"Ouch Kacchan! That hurt!"
"That's just 'cause you're still weak, Deku."
"But when I get my quirk, I'll be able to fight too!"
"Ha! In your dreams- OUCH!"
"Katsuki! What did I tell you about using your quirk on Izuku!?"
"Big Sis Lucy!"
"Damn that hurt, Lu- OUCH!"
"You're supposed to address me as 'Big Sister', remember?"
Stationed in the Bakugo family's backyard, a four year old Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo shook in slight fear at a seven year old Lucy Heartfilia. The blonde child had been taken into the Bakugo household when Mitsuki and Inko, Katsuki and Izuku's mothers, found her all bruised up and exhausted. Upon Lucy's awakening, they had asked her whom she was and where her parents were. But Lucy only cried, saying that she didn't know where her parents were because a bad man had taken her from her carriage.
The two women were confused and shocked upon hearing such words leave a young child's mouth and decided the child's name again. That time, Lucy told them her name and that she was the daughter of Jude and Layla Heartfilia, the owners of the ever so famous Heartfilia Business. After learning that, and giving Lucy something to eat before she fell asleep again, both Mitsuki and Inko began looking into finding this unheard (even though she said it was 'ever so famous') business. But they received nothing.
Through the next week, both mothers tried to look for Lucy's family, but no one claimed to have heard of a business owned by someone named Heartfilia and the fact Lucy claimed that Japanese was her and her family's first language didn't help either. They noticed that the child would also often ask both parents about what type of magic they used rather than what quirks they possessed. When asked about her parents' quirks, Lucy claimed her father unable to use magic while her mother was a celestial spirit mage.
During that week, Mitsuki and Inko had Katsuki and Izuku to help the blonde girl feel comfortable while they further investigated on Lucy's parents. It was during that time that both four year olds' personality got Lucy to shed off her shy persona and allow herself to have fun as she would have done in the mansion. Though Katsuki would try to show off his quirk to her, Lucy would always counteract saying that her mother's spirits' powers were much cooler.
The two boys didn't understand what Lucy meant when she said that her mother would teach her celestial spirit magic when she was older (since quirks should have manifested by the age of four) but they couldn't deny that the descriptions Lucy gave them of Aquarius, Capricorn, Cancer and Taurus were intriguing and cool. Even when Katsuki would try to tell Izuku to give up on his dream of being a hero, Lucy would encourage him by saying that so long as he tried his best to help people, he was already a hero.
It had already been almost a month since Lucy came to live with the Bakugos and she was perfectly fine playing all the time rather than studying with her private teachers. Yes, she loved everyone in the mansion, but she was also craving friends around her age. Playing with Izuku and Katsuki was refreshing and a whole new experience to her. They didn't care about her wealth, heck they didn't even know about her family, and just played with her because they were friends. She was happy.
"Too bad Aquarius isn't here... I'm sure she'll have fun messing with you."
"Are we ever going to meet these people from your stories, Big Sis Lucy?"
"Of course not, Deku. Everyone knows that there's no such quirk that let's someone make people come to life."
"For the last time, Katsuki. They're not just people, they're celestial spirits. And for the last time, it isn't a quirk but magic. Okay? Repeat after me. M-a-g-i-c."
"Tch. Whatever."
That particular day, the three children were playing in the living room of Katsuki's house. Both Izuku and Katsuki were showing Lucy different things about All Might from several newspaper sheets and magazines. When they found out that the seven year old didn't know who the number one hero was, they both immediately went into fanboy mode. Lucy was pretty curious as to who this All Might person was, but before she could learn more, the doorbell had rang.
Mitsuki immediately went to open the door while the three children peeked from over the couch. When the ash blonde woman opened the door, everyone gasped in shock at the sight before them (though Lucy was more happy than surprised). There, at the front door, was a man with a goat body wearing a tux and shades while a woman that resembled Lucy greatly wearing what seemed to be a European ball gown was next to him. Behind them a portal of some sort that displayed the image of a large mansion.
Before anyone could say anything, Lucy immediately got to her feet and ran over to the two strangers. Izuku and Katsuki looking at her with confused looks as she hugged the both of them. "Mommy! Capricorn! You found me!"
The blonde woman, whom Mitsuki soon discerned was Lucy's mother Layla, began to tear up at the sight of her daughter and crouched down to embrace her small body. "Lucy thank goodness! I finally found you! Are you hurt? How did you escape the bad man?"
"I'm sorry but she doesn't remember." Mitsuki cut in as she patted Lucy on the head, much to the child's pleasure. "We found her on the streets all bruised up and exhausted. I took her under my wing while me and a friend of mine tried to find her parents."
When Layla heard that, she freed herself from hugging Lucy, only to hug Mitsuki in gratitude. The ash blonde woman felt flustered from the blonde woman's gesture, but it was to be expected as it seems like she, too, had been looking for Lucy without much rest. "Thank you so much for taking care of my little girl." Layla said as small tears left her eyes.
Mitsuki relaxed her body and returned the hug, patting Layla's back as she did so. "As a fellow mother, I understand how you feel."
As the two mothers hugged it out, Lucy gestured for Katsuki and Izuku to come over while pointing to Capricorn. The two boys immediately went over to the blonde and looked up at the tall goat man before them as Lucy introduced him as one of the celestial spirits in her stories. The two boys, still confused over the fact about the magic Lucy spoke about, just assumed that the spirit's quirk had something to do with essentially being a goat like the pro hero, Gang Orca.
"Can you basically do everything a goat can?" Izuku asked.
Capricorn just shook his head and picked up Lucy so that he could carry her. "I simply have the appearance of a goat. My powers are simply that of expertise in combat and a wide variety of intelligence."
"Heh, I bet I can beat you without any problems." Katsuki replied.
"Though I commend your confidence, young one, I do suggest that that would be unwise with your current state. Perhaps if you were older, things would be different."
"Are you looking down on me!?"
Lucy and Izuku laughed as Katsuki began to feel riled up. Though the ash blonde boy wanted to prove the goat man wrong, he could actually go off and attack him since he was carrying Lucy. He knew she could dodge his explosions easily but he also had a feeling that if he tried to harm the spirit, he would be feeling her wrath and he didn't want to have to face that kind of embarrassment in front of his mother and/or especially Izuku.
Upon hearing her daughter's laughter, Layla broke the hug and made eye contact with Capricorn. The celestial spirit nodded to her and she met eyes with Mitsuku once again. "It is best that we go back to our home now. We can't stay much longer."
"We'll be able to see Big Sis Lucy again, right auntie?" Izuku asked, pulling on Mitsuki's skirt.
The ash blonde woman was unsure of that answer and met eyes with Layla and could easily see that that might not be the case for some reason. It was obvious that the blonde woman didn't want to say anything of the sort to Lucy wither and decided to lie just once to the innocent child. "Maybe not right away, Izuku, but soon."
Layla smiled, glad that Mitsuki got her silent messaged and patted Lucy's hair. "Come on, Lucy. You'll see your friends again after we go home. Papa's waiting for you."
"Okay! Bye Izuku! Bye Katsuki!"
"Bye Big Sis Lucy!"
Katsuki, on the other hand, had turned away and crossed his arms. For some reason he didn't like the idea that the blonde was going away. After all, she was his big sister. "Bye... or whatever."
Mitsuki watched as Lucy, Layla and Capricorn disappeared into the portal behind them. The large opening of space soon shrinking until it disappeared like it was never there. In the end, she was never able to ask Layla where she and Lucy were from nor was she able to bring Katsuki and Izuku to see the blonde girl. It had been hard for both boys to accept. But eventually, Lucy's presence in their lives became a distant memory. One that would pop back into their minds every now and then.
"So hold on! Lemme get this straight so I can understand!" Midoriya said as Lucy's explanation about where she had had come from threw his, and everyone else's, brain on overdrive. Everyone had already introduced themselves and showed off their quirks, but now they were just flabbergasted. "You... are from another dimension? Like another universe, so to speak?"
"From what I and my celestial spirits could gather from this book, pretty much."
After the shocking realization that Lucy, the unintentional new hero of Japan, was someone that Bakugo and Midoriya knew from their childhood, Aizawa and All Might temporarily paused their training session to get the answers of the obvious questions going through everyone's heads. Everyone gathered in front of the blonde, all the students sitting while Aizawa and All Might stood behind them with crossed arms. Bakugo, on the other hand, wanted to refuse to sit at the front with Midoriya, but Lucy convinced him otherwise.
The celestial mage had just finished explaining to Midoriya as to why she was unable to return to his and Bakugo's neighbourhood after all those years, the fact that it was clear that their world and her world were two different places entirely and that after she had woken up in her bed after leaving, everyone in her mansion acted as though nothing had happened and she never disappeared in the first place. Lucy surmised that they must've done that knowing that she wouldn't be able to see anyone from Japan again.
"So, you're saying that you must've come here only by chance back when you were a child and now that book is responsible for your return." Aizawa summarized as Lucy nodded in confirmation. "And that after meeting with Midoriya's mother and realizing where you were, you had her bring you here to reunite with Midoriya and Bakugo?"
"Is it safe to assume that those powers you possess are not that of a quirk as well?" Yaoyorozu asked while raising her hand.
Lucy just shook her head and took her key ring from her pouch to show it to the class. "That's actually the next thing I was going address. Hopefully you guys will understand what I say better than those two."
"Cut us some slack, Lucy." Midoriya replied, scratching his head sheepishly as he remembered the amount of times Lucy told him and Bakugo about her celestial spirits. They would always receive an earful from her whenever they referred to her magic as a quirk. "We were only four after all."
Lucy chuckled and took Loke's key from the key ring so that they can take a closer look at it. "In my world, Earthland, all living organisms and the atmosphere harbours a particle known as ethernano. This particle is what allows people of my world to utilize 'magic power', which is somewhat similar to that of quirks."
"Magic power?" Todoroki asked to which Lucy nodded.
"On Earthland, only ten percent of the population actually makes use of it while the remaining ninety are either incapable or unwilling to use it. These ten percent are thus deemed 'mages'. Each mage has a 'container' that holds their magic power. It's probably the only drawback a mage could have since magic itself holds no bounds and its possibilities are endless."
"So once you run out of magic power, you are unable to use magic?" Uraraka asked.
"Exactly. But in order for us to replenish our supply, all a mage has to do is take in the ethernano around them. Fiore, the country I live in, is rich with ethernano which is why I could tell that I was no longer there when I arrived. But I could sense small traces of ethernano in the air of this world, so I have to use magic sparingly. Whether it has something to do with your guys' quirks or not, I do not know."
"All this magic talk is so freaking cool!" Kirishima exclaimed in awe. "Though I can understand why Bakugo and Midoriya didn't believe you when you guys were younger."
"Magic is also categorized into two different categories. caster or holder mages. Caster mages are able to cast magic using their body, much like how Katsuki and Izuku, and many of you from what I saw, utilize your quirks. Holder mages, on the other hand, need magical items to use their magic. An example of that would be my celestial spirits."
"You mentioned that before when talking about the book." All Might noted. "What are they?"
"My magic is a type of spatial magic known as Celestial Spirit Magic and using these golden and silver keys here, I can summon celestial beings from the cosmos to explain it in simple terms. The golden ones are that of the twelve Zodiac and are extremely rare as there are only one of each while the silver ones are mass produced in magic shops. That extra Katsuki from earlier was my spirit Gemini."
"Wow! You have nine golden ones out of twelve! That's amazing!" Ashido complimented.
"I can also borrow my spirits' powers by casting a spell known as Star Dress. By plunging one of my spirits' keys into my chest, I transform and can utilize my spirits' powers as if it were my own. That, you've seen already." Lucy continued to explain as she brought up Loke's key. "So how about I introduce another one of my spirits, hm?"
"Are you sure that is wise, Heartfilia?" Aizawa asked. "After all, you did say that our world has less of this ethernano you speak of and that you would have to use your powers sparingly."
"Thanks for the concern but my container is not so small to the point that summoning one spirit would drain me all of my power. Summoning three at the same time is my limit." The blonde then took a breath and a golden glow surrounded her hand and key. "Open! Gate of the Lion! Loke!"
In a bright golden light like from before, all of Class 1-A, Aizawa and All Might watched in awe as Loke's body began to materialize. They had all expected an actual lion to appear but they were surprised when a human male with orange cat ears on his head appeared instead. Loke sported his usual tux and pushed up his glasses before bowing elegantly to the audience in front of him. Gemini already having informed everyone else in the Celestial World about Lucy's situation and where she was.
"Glad to make your acquaintance. I'm Leo the Lion but you may all call me Loke." He said as Lucy rolled her eyes at his flirty introduction. "I am one of Lucy's celestial spirits and am the leader of the Zodiacs."
"Wow... he's really handsome..." Hagakure muttered under her breath.
"Hmph... he's acting like he's all that..." Mineta grumbled, seeing many of the females in his class lightly blush at the sight of the lion spirit.
"Loke and I are also a part of a mages guild in Fiore, the strongest one in fact. I won't go into how he was also a part of the guild as it is a long story but just know he's a member too." Lucy added, raising her right hand to show her guild mark. "Our guild's name is Fairy Tail, which the media seemed to confuse for a hero agency?"
"Fairy Tale... so it's like based on children's stories, right?" Uraraka asked.
The celestial mage and spirit chuckled at the common misinterpretation. "No no. Though many would think that, it's actually tail as in your blonde friend with the extra body part over there." Loke explained as he pointed at Ojiro. "It represents the question of 'do fairies have tails?'. Since it has no clear answer, it means that adventure in our guild is never ending."
"Well that clears up a couple of things then." All Might said with a sigh of relief. "I'm going to assume you already told this to the principal before coming here then."
"I did. Though he did look like he was malfunctioning." Lucy recalled. "Perhaps the concept of magic was too much for his smart brain to handle. I don't know."
"So? Do you have a plan as to get back to your world?" Bakugo finally spoke up, making everyone to turn their attention to him. "After all, you don't belong in this world... right?"
"Whoa Bakugo! Don't you think that's a bit harsh to say to someone from your childhood?" Kaminari asked.
"Does it look like I give a damn, Pikachu!?" Bakugo shouted in anger, making Kaminari cover his face in fear. "She said it herself! She's from another world! So she has to go back! She shouldn't even be here!"
"Hey Kacchan! That's-"
"It's alright, Izuku." Lucy cut in. Though it had been a little over a decade since Bakugo and Midoriya has last seen Lucy (in her case almost two decades, but it doesn't seem the seven year time skip affected the time in this world), she could still easily tell when there was something more than what Bakugo was saying on the surface. She wasn't his big sister for no reason. "He's right."
"About that Lucy." Loke spoke up. "Grandpa Crux looked into the book some more and he thinks that Natsu and the others might've also been transported to this place."
"Huh!? They were!?"
Loke nodded and everyone else in the room just watched their conversation with much curiosity as to who this 'Natsu and others' were. "He theorizes that because you were holding the book, your magic made it react which is why you were transported immediately. But the others were also affected because they were close to you. He believes that they will arrive in either an hour or a few days."
"Will they come together and all at the same time?"
The celestial spirit only shrugged. "That was the only thing he couldn't determine."
Lucy sighed before letting out a whine, burying her face in her hands. "Just great! I can already sense the impending chaos when they realize they're not in Fiore anymore! I can already tell that once Natsu and Gray get here, the first thing they're gonna do is-"
The celestial mage was cut off when the ground began to shake, alarms began to ring throughout the school and a big explosion was heard outside. Aizawa and All Might ushered for everyone to go outside. When they did, the students gasped as a large column of fire stood at the gates of U.A like a beacon. The heat from it resonating far into the school. Looking over to nearby buildings and the main school building, teachers had already started evacuating the rest of the student body.
"Whoa! Is that Endeavor's fire, Todoroki!?" Sero asked, turning to said pro hero's son only to see him shake his head.
"No... my father's fire is something else, but nothing like this."
"Could it be a villain!?" Iida cried in worry.
"If it is a villain, I'll take them down!" Bakugo declared, making small explosions go off from his hands.
"Lucy! You're magic allows you to control water, right!? Do you think you can-"
Unfortunately, Midoriya couldn't finish his sentence at the sight of Lucy's expression. Her seething anger was so evident that she practically mirrored Bakugo's current expression. He watched as she dismissed Loke back to the Celestial World and transforming into her blue and golden Star Dress from earlier, water already forming at her finger tips. Cracking her knuckles, Lucy stepped up ahead of everyone and blocked Bakugo's path before he could go on a rampage to the trespasser.
"Hey! what do you think you're-"
"Unless you want to watch your clothes and armor melt off your own body, then I suggest you don't go any closer to that fire Katsuki." Lucy warned as the fire dispersed for a second before going off again. "That's not any normal fire either... that's a dragon's fire and for sure, it is trying to melt your school gates as we speak."
"A dragon!?" Everyone exclaimed as Lucy nodded. "A dragon is at the gates of U.A!?"
Lucy shook her head at that and smirked as she was about to have her revenge on her pink headed partner. "Not a dragon, but an idiot who possesses magic and abilities of that of a dragon... a dragon slayer." She said taking a deep breath before facing her head to the sky, knowing he would hear her. "NATSU DRAGNEEL! WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU, YOU ARE SO DEAD!"
