IRON
Maroon (trailer 1)
Rain pelted the ground as the clouds grew darker. The graveyard had grown quiet as thunder soon overtook the sounds of a single soul crying. That soul belonging to one figure, who knelt in the mud before a gravestone. His black blazer kept his charcoal shirt and red tie from growing wet, a single gloved hand held a bouquet of black roses, and one black eyepatch only helped keep some tears from dropping. A large crocodile tail swayed in the mud as his ungloved hand traced over the name etched onto the gravestone.
Luna Mae Ignis
Beloved Sister and friend
May Oum protect her soul
Isaac Mutatio Ignis rose from his knees after placing the roses on the gravestone. He took his gloved hand and wiped the tears from his eye.
"Hi Luna, what's it been. Two years? Three? Sorry, I've been busy." He spoke to the gravestone. In his hands was a roll of paper slowly growing damp from the rain.
"You must be wondering what this is. I did it sis," he spoke quietly, "I made it into Beacon. Like you always wanted." He placed the paper into the pocket of his blazer.
"I wish you were here, so I could see your face. You always wanted to go there, Mom never had the money, and Dad was always busy pissing the money we had away drinking." He grumbled that last bit. His eye grew dim as the memories of that night filled his mind
5 years prior
Trost, Eastern Vale
Thunder struck as fire rose from his home. The White fang were burning a path through the town. Trost was a very accepting town, they had accepted his family, why had the white fang attacked. He could see Luna running towards him as a group of white fang began surrounding their mother, who had decided to distract them. His mother, while a Faunus, seemed to draw the White Fangs ire more than his drunk bastard human of a father. Luna grabbed his hand before he could continue to think. He was pulled away as the fire spread. In his sisters' hand was the rusty axe we use for splitting wood. As we ran through the town my eyes began to water. I could see the bodies of my neighbors dead on the mud. My school was up in flames, screams were permiating through the air. It was a nightmare.
"Ignore the sounds Iggy." Luna said quietly as we were reaching the towns exit. My eyes widened, the watch tower above the gate was collapsing. Burning wood creaked before it snapped and fell. Isaac screamed as the wood crashed on the ground blocking the gate as trapping the two siblings within the town. Luna looked around frantically as the voices of more white fang thugs grew closer. She began running through the small alleyways in between the burning buildings. As she and Isaac ran the voices grew louder. Isaac was breathing erratically as they rounded the corner. Luna crashed into something making her let go of Isaac's hand and the axe. Isaac fell into the mud as the white fang thug Luna ran into gazed at her with a fiery gaze. The thug grabbed Luna by the neck before bringing her close.
"How goes it little one?" the massive faunus spoke in a disgusting manner. Luna responded by kicking at the thugs chest. The thug laughed before tossing Luna to the ground with a dark laugh.
"You got a lot of fight in you girlie. Too bad you ain't a faunus, else I'd take you home with me." The faunus grinned before drawing a large pistol and aiming it at Luna as she gasped for air. The faunus grunted as the rusted axe slammed into his back. Isaac stood over the bleeding and gasping thug before tearing the axe out of his back, eliciting another gasp.
"Little brat…" the thug breathed out before dying in the mud. Isaac dropped the axe and began shaking, his breathing erratic. Luna rose from the ground and embraced her little brother.
"It's okay, It's okay." She muttered over and over as tear began spilling from Isaacs eyes.
"I killed him." He mumbled into her shoulder. Luna squeezed her brother tighter and felt tears of her own start to fall. Her eye gazed upwards as she heard more white fang approaching. She rose from the ground before grabbing the pistol the thug was carrying.
"Remember the tunnel we always used to get to the woods. When you were about yay high." She asked. Isaac nodded slowly.
"Yeah."
"Then that's where we're going. Let's get out of here before the Grimm show up." She spoke before leading Isaac further down the alleys. They soon arrived at a small hatch behind a burning wreck that used to be a grocery store. Isaac reached for the hatch before something snapped off to his right. He didn't have time to escape before the building next to the grocer collapsed on top of him. Isaac screamed as the smoldering lumber sent ashes and embers into his eyes as well as the massive log that had crushed his arm. Luna began to yell his name and try to get him out, but the rubble held him tight. Howls could be heard on the other side of the wall. Luna and Isaac felt a pit form in their stomachs, the Grimm had arrived. Luna grabbed at the burning lumber, burning her hands. Isaac could feel his conscious slipping as she tried. Before she could continue a Beowulf had made it over the wall. It stared at the two with evil red glowing eyes. Luna brought the pistol up and aimed at the grimm. The grimm approached slowly milking the fear coming from the two kids in front of it. Luna fired once, the bullet barely pierced the hide of the grimm. It let out a vicious snarl before leaping at Luna. Luna ducked underneath it and began running, leading the Beowulf away from Isaac. Isaac couldn't speak as he watched his sister run away. Not soon after, another two Beowulfs landed on the ground where the previous had landed. They both looked at Isaac with the same endless hunger that the last had. Isaac closed his eyes as they approached. Two slashes met his ears. His eyes opened revealing a man in orange with a broadsword slung over his shoulder and two dead grimm. The huntsman's eyes met his and immediately the huntsman ran to his side.
"Kid, Kid! Stay with me." The man spoke quickly while surveying the damage. Isaac pointed at the alleyway Luna had run down.
"help her." He muttered weakly.
"Stop talking kid you need to save your strength."
"Help my sister. Help Luna." Isaac spoke louder. The huntsman turned around as another hunter landed. A huntress in blue wielding a spear landed and locked eyes with the huntsman.
"Ricky and Olive are holding them off for now, but we need to get moving." She spoke.
"I'm getting this kid out of here first." The huntsman said.
"Oak, we can't, Olive saw a griffon moving it's way over. We need to get out of here NOW." The huntress stressed,
"I'm not leaving him to die!" the huntsman, Oak, yelled.
"L-Luna." Isaac said weekly as his eyes once more began to shut.
"Damn, look for his sister! I'll get him to the bullhead." Oak yelled.
"WE-" the huntress started.
"NOW LIZ!" Oak screamed. The huntress tch'd before running down the alleyway. Oak turned his attention back to Isaac before coming to a grim decision. He took his broadsword and held it over the smashed right arm of Isaac.
"I'm sorry kid, but you need to lose the arm." Oak spoke slowly. Isaac half consciously began to panic. Oak placed his hand over the kid's mouth.
"I'll count to three then cut. Russ has fire dust in it and should cauterize the wound. So be ready." Oak spoke. Isaac fully lost conscious at the end of the sentence.
Present
Isaac traced his hand over the eyepatch as the memories faded. He smiled sadly.
"A few weeks after that night, after you…died," Isaac whimpered, "Oak and Olive took me in. You would like them. They had a daughter. Just my age too. Her name is Rhea, you'd like here too. She's almost and exact copy of me." He chuckled. Isaac reached into his left pocket and pulled out a necklace.
"This is all they pulled out of that house. I thought you should have it." He placed it on Luna's gravestone. It was a golden medallion with a portrait in the center. A picture of the Ignis family but stained a deep maroon.
