The first thing Kaede did was check the calendar as she got dressed. It was a habit she picked up around when she first required her Nyu personality to see if she missed any days. Today it should be Saturday. Kaede checked her phone. Sunday... shit. With blinding speed, she sped out of her room, still wearing her pyjamas, and banged as fast and quietly as she could. Tucker, who looks like he's just woken up eventually peeks through the door.

"Y-yeah?" He asks.

"We need to discuss yesterday." Kaede says.

"Fine." Tucker groans before opening the door completely. Kaede looks to her friend, then quickly looks away.

"I'll wait for you to get dressed." She says before heading to her room to change as well.

Nana was amazed by all the sights and sounds of the outside world. It was beautiful! All the humans going around doing whatever they were doing, all the magnificent buildings, the feel of the wind and the sunshine, it was all so beautiful! Along with her dark dress, she wore papa's neck thing around her head to cover her horns and carried a paper bag with communication equipment inside, which reminded her of her purpose. She must find the ever elusive Queen for her papa.

She began by exploring the city and searched for a Diclonius brain signal.

"Man, it's pretty fricken boring." Simmons comments. As he and Grif just walk along the streets.

"We traded a boxed canyon in the middle of no where for a town in the middle of no where." Grif states. "I'm not surprised at the activity level."

"But you'd think there would be more to do here!" Simmons complains.

"You'd think, but there's not." Grif states. Simmons can only sigh at this. A girl, about 14 years old wearing a dark dress and something purple in their pink hair, then runs up to them.

"Excuse me, have you seen a Queen around?" She asks.

"Queen? There's no Queen around here." Grif firmly states.

"Maybe the person she's looking for was named Queen dumbass." Simmons says to him.

"Person named Queen? What kinda person is named Queen? What kinda parents would name their child Queen?" Grif asks.

"Well actually, there was a girl in my elementary school named Queen, so..." Simmons trails off.

"There was a girl named Queen... sure." Grif says. He then turns back to the girl. "Sorry, we don't know any Queen."

"Okay. I must search harder than." With that, she left the two.

"Okay... that was weird." Grif comments.

"Yeah." Simmons agrees. A moment of silence passes.

"Who the fuck names their kid Queen?" Grif exclaims.

Kaede leisurely walked just a little ways from the Inn. According to Tucker, they had kept Nyu confined to the house while Kouta and Yuka had gone out someplace.

Kaede was saddened at the prospect of missing some time out with Kouta. If only she could talk with her alternate personality, she could direct her on what to what to do around Kouta! Or just tell her to stay out of the way! But she couldn't do that to Nyu.

"Argh! Why does this have to be so complicated!" Kaede screams out, certain no one was around to hear her. She was wrong.

"Yeah. Everything's so compi-cated... that thing you just said." Caboose nonchalantly says beside her.

"Caboose?! How long have you been there?" Kaede asks.

"About twenty minutes." Caboose says.

"Do you even know how long twenty minutes is?" Kaede asks her blue companion.

"No." Caboose simply responds. She then notices Caboose is in his armour.

"Caboose, why aren't you in your casual clothes?" Kaede asks.

"Oh. I like the clothes Washington gave me but I like my armour better because people recognize me better and I recognize them better so I thought it would be better." Caboose says in his run on sentence. "Even Simmons said he was uncomfortable when he was eating his large sand-which the day before yesterday."

"That was Grif." Kaede blankly states.

"Yeah, I don't see your point." Caboose responds.

"I wasn't-" Kaede stops throwing a hand to her head. She felt an alien feeling of confidence and the direction it was coming from? What? "What the hell?" She mutters to herself.

"No this is Kamakara place!" Caboose exclaims.

"No, I just have this weird feeling. Like my brain is telling me there is someone in that direction," She points towards where the grave yard would be. "and that they're feeling confidence. Its weird. Not uncomfortable or anything, just weird."

"I know. My brain makes me feel weird too. We have more in common." Caboose says.

"Lets just check it out then?" Kaede asks.

"Yes! Lets!" Caboose eagerly agrees.

Nana went wide eyed when she picked up another Diclonius brain signal. That was easy! Dimly, Nana wondered why #6 had such a hard time tracking her down, but pushed such thoughts aside. She grabbed the radio out of the paper bag she was carrying and used it to contact Kurama.

"Papa! I feel another Diclonius nearby!" Nana exclaims.

"Really!" Kurama wasn't able to hide his surprise. "No guarantee its the Queen though. Nana, I want you to find this other Diclonius. Myself and the SAT team will be with you in a moment to help capture them."

"Okay Papa! You can count on me!" Nana happily exclaims before putting the radio away. And heading towards the signal. Whats even better, she felt the other Diclonius coming towards her! Maybe the other one would go with her without a fight! Her papa would be so proud!

It wasn't long before Nana saw the other Diclonius. She was older than Nana and had blue ribbons to cover her horns. She was accompanied by a tall blue man. What was that blue man? She had never seen anyone like him. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she gets herself determined. 'I can't get distracted. Papa is counting on me.'

Meanwhile, Kaede notices the person of where the strange signal is coming from when she reaches the graveyard. A girl around 14 years old wearing a dark dress and a purple headband, along with short hair the same colour as her own.

"Um, excuse me!" Kaede waves over to the girl. The girl rushes over to them.

"I found you!" She exclaims.

"Found me?" Kaede questions. "Hey, how did you find me?"

"I followed your brain signature! You felt mine too. And I'd know that you'd know." Nana explains.

"Is that that weird feeling in my brain? Uh, thanks I guess. How can we... feel each other's brains?" Kaede asks.

"Kaede! Where are your manners!" Caboose scolds. "This is a new person and what do we do to new people?"

Nana gets in a defensive stance, expecting the girl to attack.

"Right. Sorry, my name is Kaede." Kaede holds her hand out.

"I- I'm Nana." Nana introduces weirdly. Why was she holding her hand out like that.

Kaede awkwardly retracts her hand after Nana stares at it weirdly. Does she not know what a handshake is?

"I'm Caboose! Its nice to meet you Nana!" Caboose introduces.

"Yeah, uh, nice to meet you too." Nana says. "If you don't mind me asking, what are you?"

"I'm blue." Caboose says as if he answered her question.

"He's wearing armour." Kaede clarifies. "Anyway, about the brain thing..."

"All Diclonius can sense each other." Nana explain. How could she not know that? This couldn't be the Queen right?

"Diclonius... You're the second person I met who's said that word. What is it?" Kaede asks.

"You... you don't know what a Diclonius is?!" Nana exclaims! No way this was the Queen.

"Yes! I know exactly what that thing you just said is." Caboose says.

"Ignore him. He has no clue what he's talking about, and no." Kaede says.

"Well, thats just rude." Caboose responds.

"Sorry Caboose, but I really need to know what this Diclonius is and the sooner the better. The Professor mentioned it a few days ago and I'm sure I've heard it some where long before that." Kaede says.

"Uh... we are Diclonius." Nana says, almost with disbelief. How can this girl not know.

"Uh... what?" Kaede asks again.

"I'm sure that under your string you were born with these." Nana removes her head band to reveal her horns almost identical to Kaede. Kaede herself goes wide eyed at the revelation and instinctively holds a hand to her head to be sure her bow is still on. "We can sense each other, and even though your friend can't see them, we have these." Nana continues to explain as two invisible arms sprout from her back.

Kaede stumbles back at seeing this. Caboose is oblivious.

"Oh I guess I'm the friend. I like being a friend." He says upon not seeing anything.

'Theres no way... no way this is all a coincidence.' Kaede thinks. "Nana... what are we... are we human?"

Before Nana can answer, the three hear guns cocking all around them. The three look to see that they are surrounded by what can only be described as soldiers and a lone sharp looking man that seemed to be leading them.

"Hey..." Caboose starts off. "Maybe they are here to be friends too!"

AN: Question for the audience; do you think the quality of this fic is decreasing? I don't seem to get as many reviews as I used to when I first started this which worries me and leads me to believe that this story is starting to get boring. It could just be me and my insecurities, but I'd like to know and if it turns out the quality has decressed, what do you guys think I could do to make this story better?

On another note, congratulations to Zakuzilla for being our 100th reviewer! "nice"

Zakuzilla: Great. what do I win?

Coa67: This near pointless shout out!
