Molly was standing next to the kitchen window and her eyesight was a bit blurry. She felt old, she really did. Especially on days like this, when the old year was wrapping up and a new one was approaching.
She had a really great life, full of love, sincerity, and kindness. She was able to watch all her kids growing up, starting their own family, and having their own child(ren).
But today she recalled how old she is.
"Mum," A quiet voice reached Molly. Molly smiled and looked at her precious and only daughter. "Why are you so nervous today?" Ginny's voice was a bit tense, her eyes questioning mother.
Molly shrugged and Ginny gasped, realizing something. "You know, Mum. She told you."
Molly nodded and sighed.
"Do you know the whole truth?" Ginny's face went pale, she bit her lip involuntarily. Molly raised an eyebrow,
"Ginny, I am not sure we are talking about the same topic, are we?" Molly tilted her head, feeling her nervousness grow.
"Um, I'm talking about Lily Luna." Ginny replied and Molly was amazed. "You were thinking about Rose and Scorpius, their marriage, weren't you?" Ginny realized, while her mother confirmed.
That was bad, Ginny should keep her mouth shut.
"What about Lily Luna, Honey? Is she alright? She is supposed to be here today, with us, celebrating."
Ginny looked at her mother and she regretted raising this topic before Lilu arrived.
"Ginny." Molly's voice was anxious.
"I cannot say anything, Mum. You will find out." Ginny took a deep breath, which made Molly shift uneasy.
"Is she pregnant?" Molly asked and Ginny's eyes widened in astonishment, giving mother the answer. "Oh good Merlin, she isn't."
"I suppose she is not expecting." Ginny murmured and then she heard a noise. "And here she is."
Lily Luna wasn't alone and this surprised Molly the most. Behind her back she saw a familiar face.
"Draco, what are…" Molly started the sentence, but Ginny cut her by saying,
"Let's go to the drawing room, almost everyone is already present." Ginny almost pushed them and glared at Molly.
Molly was shocked, she had no idea what was happening.
Lily Luna wasn't confident as always, she seemed overwhelmed. Draco looked quite uptight as well.
In the drawing room the silence fell once they entered. Ginny noticed Harry's face hardened when he saw Draco. Scorpius, who was staying next to Rose, was puzzled, so was Rose.
"Dad?" His unsure and unspecified question was hushed by Ginny and her glare.
"Let's welcome our guests first before any questions would pop up, shall we?" Her voice was thick and firm. "Lily, Draco, it's nice to see you both on this special evening and thank you for deciding to join our celebration."
Lily Luna swallowed hard, which wasn't unnoticed. Draco grabbed her hand and squeezed it.
"Hi all." Lily's voice was cracking and she stopped when she saw Harry's face.
He knew. Holy fuck.
"Make yourself comfortable," Molly said gently to them, as the awkwardness was already killing everyone. "Please sit on the sofa. Arthur, please give them a glass of champagne. Apparently they need it. "
Arthur gave them glasses and Lily took a sip. Draco didn't drink, his eyes met with Harry's eyes. Harry took a step towards them, also having a glass in his hand.
He raised it, "I wish you all all the best in the New Year. I hope this new coming year will be kind for you. And I wish my beloved daughter will be happy in her newly concluded marriage."
The noise after Harry's words was huge and Lily Luna felt she would cry soon.
He knew.
Draco stood up and cleared his throat, but he was ignored smoothly. He didn't get used to the fact that Weasley's family was so noisy.
"That's true what Harry said, we did get married. But this is not what you all think."
"Certainly, Draco," Harry's bittersweet tone hit him hard."We have no opinion currently." He scowled at Draco, but Draco was unmoved.
"May I finish the sentence?" Draco's voice was harder than Harry expected, but it was Lily Luna who started to speak,
"We got married, it wasn't exactly planned, but it happened. I don't regret marrying Draco and I would like you all to accept this decision. Without any mean remarks. At least when I sit here."
She was clearly angry and her pink cheeks reminded Harry's his old little girl. His face soften and he decided to hug his daughter.
"Lilu, love. I wish you will have you happily ever after. With Draco, or without. It's just…"
"We all care for you." Ginny's voice seemed distant, but she was smiling. "And the fact you got married without us is making me, your father, a bit uneasy."
Lily Luna sobbed and Harry squeezed her tighter,
"But at the end we want your happiness. Nothing else matters."
Draco looked at Scorpius, who seemed amazed by the events. He would certainly need to explain himself soon. But now…
He looked at his crying wife and he felt all these extreme emotions flooding at him. His little wife, his soulmate. The person he loved the most in the world.
Lily Luna, his.
He saw the wedding band and engagement ring on her left hand and felt the immediate warmth.
Lily Luna, his.
