"It's like this event was designed for me." Izuku says confidently as he thinks of how easy a cavalry battle will be hiding in a tank.

"You shouldn't tempt fate Izuku." Ochako says cautiously. "Isn't that why you didn't summon one for the race?"

"Well yes... but it also started too fast. I think I get a better tank if I have an audience." Izuku says proudly.

"You just want adoration for that one time you get a perfect tank." Ochako accuses.

"Who wouldn't!" Izuku retorts.

"Just summon one already, the round is going to start." Ochako says with growing annoyance.

"Alright then!" Izuku shouts before raising his arms into the air. "Behold! Our victory... oh... come on!"

In front of them was the smallest tank either of them had ever seen. Standing only to their shoulders and not particularly impressive in any other dimension the vehicle looked like what a country would build if their tank budget and manufacturing ability didn't exist. To be honest the country that it came from was in the exact situation.

"So, Izuku, what is this tank?" Ochako asks, pulling the boy out of his growing depression.

"It's not even a tank, it's a tankette: a Carro Veloce 33." Izuku mumbles.

"So how are we all going to fit?" Ochako asks.

"That might be difficult." Izuku mutters before turning to Mei with the light of an idea in his eyes. "I have a plan."

"Looks like our leader didn't get lucky with his tank of the day!" Present Mic announces.

"He will make do. It's the crew that makes the tank after all." Aizawa says stoically.

"That may be true, but there are limits. That small two seater can't beat a Tiger you know!" Present Mic shouts.

"Knowing my student he would make it work somehow, or face the consequences." Aizawa says.

"With that encouraging complement it's almost time to begin! Take it away Midnight!" Present Mic finishes.

"Start!" Midnight shouts with a crack of her whip.

As one the teams converged on Izuku's tank, determined to get the ten million before a stronger team could.

"Hatsume ready, Ochako ready, then let's go!" Izuku shouts from his position above the gunner's seat.

"Aye!" Dark Shadow shouts as he slithers through the driver's view port.

"Ok." Ochako manages as she removes the tank's gravity from the gunners seat.

"Ready!" Mei shouts as she keeps a firm grip on the open gunner's hatch while floating behind the tank with her hover boots.

And in an instant the world saw something they never thought they would, a tankette flying gracefully away from the converging students.

"That's just not fair." a 1-B student complains as the tankette flies over them.

"DEKU!" Bakugo screams as he flies aggressively towards the tankette.

"Hatsume, Ochako!" Izuku shouts, starting the team's air defense strategy.

As Bakugo races towards them, the tankette rotates under the power of Mei's boots and once in the crosshairs Ochako opens up with the dual eight millimeter machine guns.

While Bakugo was tough, a rain of rubber bullets was more than he could handle and he fell quickly. Soon the tank was back on the ground and racing away.

"When I see that tank driving I feel the need to play some Italian street music." Present Mic announces as the tankette bounces away from the other teams a considerable speed.

"Please don't." Aizawa says.

Soon the other teams realized catching a light tank on foot was a futile effort and they began fighting amongst themselves. Any team that got too close to the speeding tankette was defeated quickly by a massive Dark Shadow, empowered by Tokoyami sitting in the dark enclosed driver's position.

"I didn't know you could drive Tokoyami." Ochako comments as they speed around the field.

"I can't, Midoriya is driving. I'm reveling in the dark." Tokoyami replies darkly.

Not even Todoroki's formidable team was able to catch them. As soon as Izuku noticed Todoroki was coming for him, he guided the tankette through the center of the crowd, pulling turns and maneuvers at speeds not even Iida could maintain without burning out or ditching his team. Leaving Todoroki frustrated beyond belief when the round ended.

"It all worked out in the end." Ochako says with relief as she climbs out of the gunner's seat.

"It did, but it would have been so much easier if we could just sit in the turret of a Maus or something." Izuku says tiredly.

"It was a ton of fun though." Mei says, clearly having enjoyed flying around the field.

"I must find rest in the darkness." Tokoyami mumbles as he stumbles away.

"I think Tokoyami didn't appreciate the wild ride." Ochako says.

"I wouldn't either, he was cooped up and couldn't see anything with Dark Shadow squeezing through the viewport." Izuku explains.

"Now that you mention it..." Ochako says, turning a bit green. "I'm glad my hatch was open."

"Are you ready Izuku!" Momo shouts as their match is about to begin.

"Let's have a fun round!" Izuku cheers.

As the round begins Momo glows with the power of her creation and a mighty thump is heard as she finishes.

"I'm sorry about this Izuku." Momo says, before turning to Izuku who had the brightest smile she had ever seen.

"Finally a tank battle!" Izuku cheers as he jumps into his tankette.

Shocked by Izuku's reaction to her creating a copy of his CV 33, Momo almost doesn't make it into her tank before Izuku begins firing.

The pair of tankettes soon realize they can't penetrate each other with rubber or even real bullets and decide to race at each other in the world's silliest demolition derby. Soon Izuku's lifetime of experience begins to show as his handbrake turns and swift acceleration left him in the advantageous position for the majority of collisions, but Izuku's reluctance to end such a once in a lifetime opportunity meant that the match was not decided swiftly.

Unfortunately for the crowd both students soon forgot about the tournament and began laughing and cheering each other on as they raced around the small arena, damaging the concrete more than each other.

"Uh... is this going to end?" Present Mic asks.

"It will soon, or Midoriya and I are going to have a few words about holding back." Aizawa says threateningly.

Hearing that pulled the excitement out of their match and with renewed focus Izuku rammed Momo out of bounds.

"We need to do that again!" Momo shouts as soon as she leaves her tankette.

"We must! Get yourself a proper crew and I'll see if there's any space on campus." Izuku replies.

"Let's go then! I know just who to ask!" Momo shouts happily before grabbing Izuku and racing out of the stadium.

"But what about the next round?" Izuku mutters as he commands his tankette to tow Momo's out of the stadium.

But it was too late, Momo had forgotten the tournament and as soon as Ochako and Tsu heard she needed a crew they forgot about it too.

AN: What a ridiculous tank to end up with. I have to thank reviewer anglewithwings for suggesting this, the Carro Veloce 33 (CV 33 or L3/33 cc) was not something I expected to find a place for, but after a few nights of sitting at the edge of my thoughts this just appeared. I do hope you all enjoy it as much as I am. If you need help finding an appropriate Italian song for the cavalry battle, I listened to Funiculi Funicula while writing it...

Don't expect any 'plus ultra' to get a better tank. Izuku is stuck with what he gets, but driving ability makes a big difference.

Also, Ochako's limit is said to be 3 tons, which is right around what the L3/33 weighs. Is it a coincidence? Or was this fated all along?
