It had all gone downhill rather quickly, not that Izuku expected any different. Attacking the Paranormal Liberation Front without significant support was never going to go well. And as much as Izuku dreaded it he knew he would have to use his quirk with One for All despite it being a recipe for chaos.
"Well, we do what we must." Izuku says.
"Wait, don't!" Tsu shouts, realizing what Izuku was about to do.
As the tendrils of energy formed a portal Ochako comments: "At least when he does this the tanks tend to be useful."
"Any tank would be useful now." Momo says.
The sound of stings and horns erupts from the portal.
"Oh no." Tsu says, remembering the last time this had happened.
Just as the chorus begins, a strange vehicle exits the portal with many identical vehicles. It rode on what looked like six sets of tracks, three across and two deep. And carried a massive cannon on each side of it's turret.
"I have never seen such a thing." Izuku says in confusion. "The song is in Russian and the big red star on the turret marks it as Soviet, but I don't recognize it. A mix of the Object 279 and ST-II concepts maybe."
"You can make Sci fi tanks!?" Nejire shouts as she divebombs Izuku.
"I guess? If that's what it is." Izuku mumbles.
"Their Apocalypse tanks, from the ancient Command and Conquer: Red Alert games." Nejire explains.
"Wonderful." Izuku mutters, wondering how much research he would have to do to learn about every sci-fi and fantasy tank in existence.
Meanwhile, the line of tanks had stormed through the city and were laying waste to PLF forces. As the sound of their cannons firing resounds through the damaged cityscape, Izuku begins to worry.
"I don't suppose these are non-lethal do you?" Momo asks.
"I don't think so." Izuku says.
"RIP villains then." Ochako says before singing along happily in russian. "Everywhere above the Earth will sing: The capital, vodka, our Soviet bear!"
Soon they heard more cannonfire and the desperate shout of "Gigantomachia! No!" from Tomura.
AN: This was my original idea for One for All actually, but I switched to real tanks and the Anthem because I didn't want to add two concepts at once.
Oof, what a massive number of suggestions for Sci-fi tanks, most of which I, like Izuku, have only heard of second hand. I've added a column on my spreadsheet, (I now have a separate one for this... thanks for that.) just for sci-fi ideas, many of which I need to google... Don't expect them too often, as history still has plenty of tanks.
Also, the M1 is a good tank, it does its job. But it's also boring outside of it's engine.
Bonus Eri?
"Nash Sovetskiy Soyuz pokarayet" Eri sings happily as she rolls down a hallway in UA riding on a T-34-85 model. She's wearing her favorite leather tankers helmet and has "Soviet March" playing out of a small speaker on the turret of the model tank.
Her adventures bring her to a pair of general education students having a fight. She rams into them, knocks them over and rolls over them, not even pausing her endless loop. "Stolitsa, vodka, Sovetskiy medved' nash!" she sings as the plastic tracks return to the floor of the hallway.
The spectating students wisely decide to return to their classrooms, one of them muttering. "Even the children of the hero course are too strong."
Nezu was of course happily recording the adventure through the security cameras, already editing together a compilation.
A few weeks later Nejire was seen dragging herself into her hero office covered in motor oil, muttering about having to change the oil of a 'hundred tanks' as punishment for 'corrupting the youth.'
