"Hey Izuku!" Ochako shouts as she exits the dorm and jogs over to him.
"Hi Ochako." Izuku replies.
"You've been standing out here for a few hours, usually you summon the tank of the day and go inside within a few minutes." Ochako says with concern.
"Usually I do, but it's Halloween and I have never summoned a decent tank on this day." Izuku answers.
"What do you usually summon?" Ochako asks.
"Obscure French tank prototypes." Izuku says with dread.
"That doesn't sound so bad." Ochako comments in confusion.
"You haven't seen the things they designed." Izuku says.
"Well, might as well do it, Momo won't leave her window until you do and we can't start the party without both of you." Ochako says.
"Alright then, here goes. Prepare for eye cancer." Izuku says with trepidation, raising his hands in the air.
"Well, that's something alright." Ochako manages as she stares at the ghastly vehicle in front of her.
"Did I mention they usually come in the worst colors?" Izuku asks tiredly.
"What in the name of aesthetics is that!?" Momo shouts from her window.
"That is a pumpkin orange Char G1B with a bright green turret." Izuku answers.
"It looks like a deformed pumpkin." Ochako says.
"It fits the spirit of the holiday at least." Izuku says, "You should have seen the neon camo pink FCM F1 I got last year. My mom passed out from how ugly it was."
"I don't know what an FCM F1 is but that color must have been awful." Ochako says.
"FCM F1 was a French multi turreted monstrosity. Think of a big boat like WW1 hull with two barn-like turrets, the one in the rear being big enough to fire over the one in the front." Izuku explains.
"Oh my." Ochako manages as she pictures the monster. "I see why you were hesitant."
"Indeed." Izuku says, repressing the memory once more.
"Is this a good tank though?" Ochako asks.
"Not really, it was originally designed with a 75 in the hull, and a 47 in a small turret, but then the requirement changed and the 75 went to the turret but that made the tank way too heavy for the engines France had so the project stalled. The design did evolve towards the ARL 40 project, which was even uglier but did make actual prototypes." Izuku answers.
"We might as well go inside then." Ochako says.
"Good idea." Izuku agrees, moving the G1B out of the way before leading the two back inside.
As they reach the door, Eri pokes her head out, takes one look at the tank and asks: "Is that one of the potatoes Tamaki talks about?"
AN: Is it a Halloween special? Sort of. There are plenty of spooky tanks but I would rather take a shot at the many odd french designs. I mean look at this thing, an oversized hull that just looks too tall for it's length. Tracks that go all the way around it and every turret I've seen on it is too small or too big. Eri's comment is an homage to a friend during my World of Tanks days, called it a battle potato. And it sort of fits. But painted orange it looks more like a pumpkin than any other tank I can think of.
I used the walker because it was funny, I don't fully consider them tanks, just like I don't fully consider wheeled vehicles tanks, but their role is similar enough that some types of walkers are pseudo tanks. I do consider everything though, considering a Nelson Class Battleship appeared in a joke chapter.
