This is my first song fic, I love this song and just thought today (well tonight) how well it describes Rose and the Doctor.

The Doctor slid the letter back into his pocket. Reinette's letter. He wouldn't be able to show Rose it or even tell her about it, ever. He would tell her something else; like that nothing was wrong, but on a fake smile and go somewhere new. But Rose knew him better than that he wouldn't be able to fool her that easily so he would just have to go somewhere new, forget Reinette. Forget the letter. He always had to forget, because the memories were too hard. He would have to hid them from everyone. Even Rose. Everyone.

Rose is so far away now. Far from me and my touch, I never told her what she needed to know, ever. I was never that close to her before, I wouldn't let myself, we were just friends. I knew how I felt, but if I admitted it I would lose her. It was true though once Rose had told me how she felt I was gone. Left. Now she's saving the world and fighting her sorrow without me.
