Chapter 2

To be honest, Derek's lack of close friends other than Mark really makes writing him in high school hard. Oh well. Also, this is gonna be based in the mid-2000s and early 2010's so there's light mention of technology but nothing too much.

Friday finally arrived after a long and frustrating week for Derek. First, Meredith has avoided him ever since he asked her out to dinner, meaning he would have to go to a junior party. He didn't particularly mind, especially since he would see Meredith, but there is a high chance that his attempt there would fail miserably. Then, adding onto that, he was about to start tryouts for spring baseball. He was tossing and turning the whole night before, just thinking about Meredith Grey and his impending spot as Varsity captain. His alarm for school startled him with a buzz, causing Derek to groan and slap the top of the clock on his mahogany nightstand. Ruffling his hair wildly, he picked his covers from around him and sat up in his plaid boxers and navy Bowdoin t-shirt.

"Derek, dear, please get up! You're going to be late!" His mother shrieked up the stairs of their classic Cape Cod-style home.

"Yeah, Ma! I'm up!" Derek responded, with a small hint of annoyance tainting his voice.

"You better watch your tone, or no plans for you this weekend!"

Groaning to himself, Derek chose not to respond to his mother, trying to keep the risk of him not seeing Meredith low. He stepped across the cold wood of his room before throwing on dark blue Levi jeans and a forest green t-shirt. He lightly hustled to his bathroom door, briskly missing bumping into Amelia and Lizzie as they made their way out. He spent a good 10 minutes putting his hair together perfectly, making sure that he looks his best today. For her. His tongue was sticking out of the side of his mouth as his calloused hands smoothed over his black hair.

"So… Derek. Who are you trying to impress on this fine Friday?" Amelia smirked from the threshold of the bathroom they shared.

"Amy, it's none of your business. And if it was, I still wouldn't tell you."

"Okay, okay. You don't have to be so rude. God. Sue me for asking." Amelia replied, holding her hands up in defense before turning away and lazily moving down the stairs.

Derek rolled his eyes at his freshman-aged sister and turned back to his spot in front of the sink. He looked at himself with confidence and took a deep breath. Today was his chance. He could do it. Right? Right. The voice of Amelia, Lizzie and his mother yelling at him from their kitchen interrupted his thoughts and urged him to bound down the stairs and out the door.

This was what he was waiting all day for. He was ready to go get the girl, even if she didn't know it was coming. It pretty much took the whole lunch period to convince Mark and Weiss to come with him to a younger kid's party, especially since it meant they had to miss some of Jake Madden's pre-tryouts lake party. They had reluctantly agreed because they knew that Derek was trying to pull Meredith Grey, and finally had the balls to do something about it.

"Alright, guys. I think I got this in the bag. What do you guys think?" Derek exclaimed to the group of three as they ventured down the dimly lit neighborhood streets towards Izzie Stevens's house.

"I think I'm gonna hook up with some junior girls, don't you agree Weiss?" Mark said snarkily.

"Yeah, man. We gotta stay on our toes all night."

"Oh my god. Would you guys be serious for once in your life? You think I can do it or what?" Derek asserted again to his increasingly idiotic friends.

"Dude, just be cool about it and you'll be fine. Don't turn into some girl, Derek," Mark said back to his best friend. Mark could just be cool about it. To him, it was just any girl. But to Derek, she was Meredith and he couldn't let her slip through his fingers.

The trio turned down Izzie's tree-lined street and finally faced her big brown house. As soon as they were about to walk down her front path, Derek's eyes lit up at the sight before him. Meredith Grey clutched a Jose Cuervo in her right hand while she was dancing carefree on the front porch. She was undoubtedly gorgeous, making him stop dead in his tracks.

"You coming, Shep?" Mark said, pausing as well.

"Nah. I'll see you guys inside, I'm gonna stay out here for a little," Derek slightly smiled but he never took his eyes off Meredith's dancing.

"You blew me off for a bottle of tequila?" Derek exclaimed after his friends entered the party.

Meredith didn't respond but kept a smirk on her face, slowly stepping towards Derek. His heartbeat was spiking, that was for sure. He thought his heart was going to come out of his chest as she started to grab him by the collar of his dress shirt.

"I bet it's not as good to wake up to either."

"Shhhh," Meredith whispered back to him as their lips were centimeters apart.

His eyes were flicking between her lips and her emerald eyes and they continued to get closer to each other. He was breathing in her lavender scent and his hands traveled to her waist, slightly lifting up the hem of her purple sweater. It was unclear who made the first move but before he knew it, her plump lips were connected to his. She ran her hands through his hair and his hands were massaging the small of her back. This kiss was amazing. He quickly slipped his tongue into her mouth and began to explore her mouth. Derek pressed her body closer to his own, and he was sure she would be able to feel him harden against her.

Suddenly, she pulled away from him, her eyes still sparkling and she grabbed Derek's hand and guided him towards a blue Jeep parked in the Stevens's long driveway. He was so caught up in the moment that he didn't even question where they were headed. He couldn't believe this was happening. Meredith opened the creaky passenger side door and allowed him to seat himself in the car. She quickly jumped in behind him as he fumbled with the buttons on the side of the seat to give them more room. She was straddling his waist and playing at the buttons of his shirt, slowly unbuttoning them and running her hands along his chest.

"God, Meredith."

"Are you comfortable?" Meredith slightly gasped without a tinge of nerves in her voice.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm good, great," Derek replied before sliding his hands under her sweater, lifting it up.

She slightly raised her arms so he could slide her sweater the rest of the way and over her head, revealing a sexy black lace bra. He tossed it over to the driver's seat as he ran his hands through her golden locks and pulled her face down to his, connecting their lips again. As his right hand remained in her hair, he placed his left on her boob and started to lightly massage it. He wished that he could have this feeling forever, the feeling of warmth and nothing other than Meredith. He couldn't explain how he felt but he knew that he hadn't had a moment like this with another girl.

"Hmmm, Derek."

"Yeah?" Derek managed to moan out.

"Just… feels good," she replied, tilting her head up and rolling her eyes back, showing her complete satisfaction.

Taking advantage of the angle of her head, he started to suck lightly at her neck and collarbone, switching between the two. Meredith tangled her hand in his raven hair, breathing him in and letting him continue on her neck.

He pulled back, well aware of the fact that he may have left a hickey or two, but he would let her figure that out for herself. He tightly wrapped her arms around her back, bringing her closer to him again, and kissing her hard. He was thinking about how good she felt against him when she removed her hand from his hair and started to move her hand to his crotch.

"Fuck," Derek sputtered out as she applied more pressure to his jean-clad erection.

She moaned in response but continued to attack his lips with hers, her tongue fighting with his. She pulled back again, eliciting a groan from Derek, and started to kiss down his chest slowly. She nipped and bit occasionally and he ran his hands through her hair as she did so. He was thinking that was her revenge because he definitely had hickeys trailing down his chest, but he didn't care even if it meant he would get slapped by his mom. As Derek began to massage her ass through her jeans and started to slip his right hand under her waistband, a knock echoed through the Jeep.

"Yo, the party's over. Weiss and I are hitting up Madden's," the dark figure then identified as Mark said to them with his back turned. Meredith started to bury her head in the nook of his shoulder, groaning with embarrassment.

"Shit. Okay… umm, thank you?" Derek replied with hesitation.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm scarred for life, but proud of you. But, uh, you guys should put yourselves together before more people come out."

"Okay! You're good to leave now."

"Just helpin' you buddy," Mark laughed as he started to walk towards the street.

Derek looked back at Meredith on his lap as she grabbed for her purple sweater that was haphazardly thrown against the driver's seat. She didn't look pissed at all, maybe a little embarrassed but definitely satisfied.

"So… um, I'm gonna go with Mark and Weiss. Are you good to get home?"

"Um… yeah, yes. I am actually sleeping over here so I just need to get inside. Uh, by the way, you have a few hickeys," Meredith blushed as she opened the car door.

"So do you. I would say I'm sorry but I'm not," Derek laughed as he buttoned his shirt again.

"Very funny. I have to go but… maybe I'll see you soon?"

"Oh, you will be. I'll call or text you," he stated as he stepped towards her again and captured her lips for a quick kiss.

"You don't have my number."

"I have my ways. Bye, Mer," he smirked as he turned towards the road where Weiss and Mark were waiting for him.

She didn't respond but he was more than excited about what had just happened between them. She couldn't deny there was something between them as he would always tell her in their chemistry lab. He joined his two friends who immediately congratulated him and slapped his back as they walked back down the street. This was good for him, for them… and it just meant that he had more to look forward to now.

Mark, Weiss, and Derek walked up to Jake Madden's lakehouse and joined the rest of their grade, but Derek couldn't stop thinking about her. Her golden locks, the sweet taste of her lips, and the way her curves fit into his hands. This feeling was amazing, and he knew it wouldn't end anytime soon.

Okayyyy. The heat is starting to kick in between Meredith and Derek. Can she deny it any longer though? I hope you guys like it! I might not be able to update as frequently but I'll try my best :) Read and Review.
