Hi there. This is my first crash fic, and it's short, like all my fics. xD This is a dialogue-only fic, for the most part, and no names will be mentioned, but there will be hints as to the characters' identities. Cookies for those who guess and get it right. xP
Breaking the Rules
"I said no!"
"B-b-but, why?"
"Oh, don't start crying. I won't buy it. But, pertaining to your stupid question, it's, like, against the rules or something."
"What rules?"
"Uh, hell-o! You know what rules I'm talking about! Stupid."
"That's not fair. It's not like I could ever go to school or anything!"
"You probably would've been accepted at my school."
"...That's funny. You're hilarious...Hey, wait a second..."
"What?"
"You said you wouldn't go out with me because it's 'against the rules', right?"
"Yes..."
"So, what, that's the only reason?"
"...I never said that, moron!"
"You were thinkin' it."
"And just how do you know?"
"I can guess."
"Yeah. Sure."
"You know, being in denial isn't very healthy."
"Oh, no. Don't tell me you're turning into some health maniac like that guy...what's his name...Smash, or something like that?"
"...No. His name is Crunch."
"Yeah, whatever."
"Why are we talking about him, when we could be talking about us?"
"There is no 'us'. There never was an 'us'. There will never be an 'us'. Got it?"
"Yeah, I got it, alright. You're just saying all that because you're all depressed and st—"
"..."
"...What the heck was that for?"
"It, uh...it shut you up."
"...That's it?"
"Yup."
"Nothing else?"
"Nope."
"Alright then..."
"But you can expect that I'll 'shut you up' many times in the future."
So the girl walked away with a small smile, leaving the boy standing there; standing there and wondering why it took her so long to build up the nerve she needed to break the rules.
