The Wood

A poem

By NarnianAslan

Author's Note: Okay a poem, by me… we're studying poetry in Language Arts/English Class, so I decided to write a few poems. I will probably not post these until the unit is over, so probably June. I'm writing this in May, so June is quite a while from now. As you can probably guess from my stories, Edmund is my favorite character, and part of the reason is because he rules the Western Wood. This is my (and probably a lot of Narnians') view on the Wood. So the poem.

Your Authoress,

Pippa Johansen

The Wood, O the Wood,

Home of all that is good.

I think that I really should,

Spend more time in the Wood.

Where the birds fly,

Up in the highest reaches of the sky,

Flying so that I

May sit and sigh.

The Wood, where the squirrels patter,

Where it does not matter

Who you are or that your clothes are tattered

The Wood is the most wondrous place,

The ivy on the trees is laced,

Everyone slows their pace,

Wandering through such a place.

I should like to live in the Wood,

Where everything is good.
