Disclaimer: Resigned Sigh Yeah, not mine, I'm just playing in the sandbox
Bobby loved her for many reasons some were obvious, others probably not so much.
Her hair, while he knew it wasn't her natural color it was beautiful. She wasn't a vain person so she didn't spend hours fussing with it, but it was well kept. It was one of the reasons he was always invading her personal space, he had done it the first time purely by accident but he had taken a breath and the scent of her shampoo had him hooked.
He had never considered himself an outward appearances type of guy but when Alex wore those sleeveless tops he couldn't help but admire her shoulders. They had the lightest smattering of freckles on them, he had often daydreamed of playing connect the dots with them. They were strong shoulders, not just from training and exercise, but from the burdens they bore. Her husband's death, giving her sister a son she wouldn't have otherwise, her mothers deteriorating condition.
Alex had a harsh almost pessimistic view of the world. Colored, he was sure as his was, by her youth. Her caustic, biting remarks while hardly ever directed at him stung.
She wasn't easily annoyed, but stay out of her way if she was. Bobby knew he pushed the envelope to the edge with her sometimes, but it was fun to see her get worked up.
Her clothing was impeccable, while Alex wasn't a vain person she also wasn't a slob. Whether in business attire for work or casual for a relaxing day, she was always well put together. Bobby often wondered how she'd look in 'fancy dress'. He'd never seen her in a cocktail/ball gown since she managed every year to have a convenient excuse to get her out of the Commissioners Ball. He'd get his change soon enough though; the wedding was only six months away.
The woman could turn a phrase. A sharp wit fit her though; she could pull out a sarcastic remark for any situation. Yet at the same time if a witness or victim needed comfort or coddling she always had the right words.
'The patience of a Saint' was an apt description for Alex Eames. She had a seven and a half year old son, she had to have patience. Travis' birthday was a prime example; most people would have lost it, but not his Alex. He liked the sound of that, his Alex; it had a certain appeal to it. Again he had to refer back to victims, witnesses and suspects, some of them tested his patience. She was unshakeable.
Her diligence was praiseworthy. Especially when it came to seeing that Travis' needs were met. His care and comfort came first, even when she was in the hospital after the whole Gage fiasco; her first words to Bobby were to make sure Travis stayed with her father. She had made a promise to him when she broke her arm, and she didn't intend to break it.
When she was pissed her glare could melt stone. He knew this from personal experience. While normally her eyes were a brilliant green, when she was mad they turned darker then jade. To Bobby they were just as beautiful, if not more so, because they showed her inner spirit.
These were just a few of the reasons why Bobby Goren loved Alex Eames, he was sure as the years passed he'd come up with many more. However they would have to wait as Alex was calling to him from the bedroom.
End.
A/N: This little gem came from another fic in a different fandom. Apparently there is an 11reasons community at LJ that gives the prompts. I only used 9, but it's in the same spirit. The words in Bold are the prompt words. As always Review and let me know what you think.
