Blue Team has been summoned to the bridge. They all know what this is going to be about. It's obvious. They catch Dr. Grace in the halls. She gives them a wink before heading back to the infirmary. They take that wink to be a good sign. But it doesn't ease the sinking feeling in their stomachs.
Reaching the bridge, the Spartan 2s notice Captain Lasky reading over the file still with the Admiral looking out the window.
"Sir!" The salute the commanding officers of Infinity.
"At ease Spartans." Admiral Hood says turning to face them.
The Spartans' arms rest at their sides. They stand tall bracing themselves for what is about to come out the Admiral's mouth.
"I am sure that you are aware of why I've called you here." Admiral Hood says walking over to the Spartan 2s.
"Yes sir." Chief replies.
"Then you are aware of what ONI is going to want once they know?" Hood continues to question.
"Yes sir." Chief replies trying not sound stern which show his anger.
Hood then says, "But what ONI doesn't know won't hurt them."
There is the smallest jerk of the Spartan 2s' armor. It goes unnoticed but it happened. Blue Team is shocked. Is Admiral Hood really allowing them to keep Isabella?! All they can do is blink but the relief they are feeling is massive.
"As far as ONI is concerned, I am allowing Lasky to run a training exercise of sorts." Hood explains.
On que Lasky continues with, "That exercise is having the legendary Spartan 2s interact with nonmilitary personnel for possible future assignments."
Hood then says, "But I won't lie to you Spartans, I am not sure how long we'll be able to use that cover to hide this from ONI. Once they fins out there is nothing that I and Lasky can do."
"We understand sir. Thank you." Chief says.
"Now you four are dismissed. Take care of the kid. Don't want Spartan-006's ghost to haunt you." Hood says playfully.
The Spartan 2s salute the Admiral before leaving the bridge. All of them very relieved to know that Isabella is going to be staying with them. Now all they have to do is tell her. But of course that is going to be on long, actually very long conversation.

Isabella wakes up a few days later. She looks around concluding herself to be in a hospital of some kind. She then looks over to see someone asleep, sitting beside her. The someone is a very tall and very muscular man. He wears cargo pants and a skintight black tank-top with the numbers 117 in white on it.
She isn't sure why but something about him seems familiar. However it does seem like he has been watching over her. She decides to wake him to get answers. Carefully she moves her very sore right arm. Her hand lightly touches his knee. Its enough to snap the man awake.
"You shouldn't be moving just yet." He says shocking her by his voice.
This is Chief! Where is his armor? Shouldn't he be wearing it?
"Where is your armor Chief?" Isabella asks.
"In the assembly bay. I don't have to wear it all the time." He replies. "How are you feeling?"
"My right arm and left leg feel sore." She answers. "Where are Miss Kelly, Miss Linda, and Mr. Fred?"
"Training." He answers shortly then says, "I'm going to get Dr. Grace."
Chief gets up from his chair and walks out of the room. Isabella watches him go before she takes another look around the hospital. She notices a window with a planet in view on a field of black. She's in space!? So cool!
But where are the stars? Aren't there supposed to be stars in space? Don't explorers use stars like those of Orion's Belt navigate? How do the ships find their way without the stars?
The opening of the door catches her attention. She looks over to see an older woman with short white and green eyes enter the room. The older woman gives her a warm smile as she walks over. She notices Chief is in tow behind the older woman.
"Hello there, Young Bluestar. My name is Dr. Helga Grace." She introduces herself. "Chief, here, tells me that your right arm and left leg are bothering you?"
"Yes. I think they're still hurt." Isabella answers.
"I'm going to give you a full check up and see what I can do about those. At least other than prescribe rest." Dr. Grace tells her.
Isabella nods. Dr. Grace is very nice and answers all of Isabella inquisitive questions. In fact Dr. Grace encouraged the asking of questions. And Isabella loves how much the nice doctor is telling her about the tests and things about the infirmary.
Once she is done with what she needs to do, she pulls Chief aside and informs him of what to do. Isabella tries to listen to the conversation but it is too soft and too short for her to figure out what was said.
"What did she say?" Isabella asks.
"She was just telling me to make sure you don't over do it. Your right arm and left leg are going to be sore for a few more days." Chief explains.
"Does that mean you're going have to carry me?"
"Possibly."
"But I like walking." She grumbles as Chief gives her a faint smile.
"You remind me of your father." He says seemly absentmindedly.
"You knew my dad!?" Isabella gasps with a bright smile. "Tell me about him! Please! Was he a soldier? Did you serve with him? Do you know who the stars of the clip represent? … Sorry, I-I…"
"It's alright Isabella." Chief says softly as he sits back down in his chair. "Yes, I did know your father. I knew him since I was your age. He was like me a Spartan 2."
"Spartan 2?" Isabella looks at him curiously.
"The story is mostly classified and long." Chief states with a soft sigh escaping him. "But mind telling me about the clip? You said that the stars represent people."
Isabella nods as she says, "Mom said that dad made those stars to represent four of the strongest people he had ever known. But he never told mom their names."
"Four of the strongest people he knew…" Chief repeats looking over at the clip. "I have an idea but I don't think I'm right."
"…What is going to happen to me? Am I going to an orphanage? Or are you going to take care of me?"
Chief looks at her and says, "Since I and my team knew your father, the UNSC has allowed the four of us to be your legal guardians."
"A-Are you sure I can stay? Dr. Grace said were on the warship UNSC Infinity. Children like me really shouldn't be here." Isabella says.
"And you're right. However you are a special case." Chief answers.
"If you say so Chief." Isabella says.
"Call me John."
"John? Is that your real name?"
"It is."
"I think it suits you more than Chief."
John/Chief is caught off guard by that. This sparks yet another memory from Jacobson. He too had said something like that. It was when everyone else started calling him Chief more than his name or Spartan tag. Jacobson always believed in the importance of names.
"Thank you, Isabella."
"What was my dad's name?"
"Jacobson. Jacobson Bluestar." Chief answers.
