Fairy 10
She remembered the agony as she plunged the blade between her ribs. The anguish she felt through their link as she fell as well as the look on her brothers face. The feel of her life force leaving her severing them both from this life as her blood soaked into the soil beneath her. The link that connected them from their first breath severed when she took her last one. Then she knew no more or should have. So why was she cold?
The summer lands were supposed to be bathed in the warm light of creation and that was what she had felt before this sensation had taken over. Before their had been fear and she was more than certain that the emotions had not come from her. What after all did she have to fear in the land of the dead. She had been laying in a field of flowers previously awaiting the judgment that would send her either up or down when she felt the pain.
It felt as though someone was attempting to pull the very veins from her arms then suddenly the sensation stopped, and she felt her chest rise then fall with a shuddering breath as sensations she only felt when she was amongst the living reasserted themselves. Had her allies found a way to resurrect her? If so why and would that also bring back her brother?
She didn't know an answer to either question. When she touched where the link had been she only received a confused jumble of emotions in return that she knew was definitely not her brother. No this sensation was female most definitely as well as terrified and awed somewhat.
Slowly her senses were coming back to her, and she heard a man's voice say something about a fairytale prince before someone lifted her into his arms. The panic and terror increased along the link, and he heard a soft voice beg not to be left somewhere as the being that carried her walked away from the voice.
She would have protested but for some reason her mouth could not form words nor had the strength returned to her limbs yet. Even though they were walking away from the girl, yes it was a girl a very young one at that she could still feel the girl's despair. Which was weird because it felt just like the link she used to share with her brother though it was getting weaker, just as her brother's had when she had severed their life force.
Instinct told her that this was wrong but there was nothing she could do about it at this moment. Her eyes focused briefly on the being that carried her before once again the darkness claimed her. Pain once again pulled at her veins and drove her from her peaceful sleep. A sense of desperation filtered through the link, and she felt the energies of ancient magics being wrought from afar. A fervent almost desperate feeling infused the link, and she knew on some level that the child was somehow working the magic she was feeling. she was cold and in a darkened room.
The child's desperation had touched something deep within her and she responded by sending as much encouragement and determination as she could back towards the small being until it cut off suddenly. Slowly Nuala sat up and looked around at her surroundings. She was locked in a room with only a cot, and it was most likely underground.
The fomorian runes on the door were meant to keep her from working any of her magic and there very presence meant she was not in the hands of any she could call a friend. Part of her noted absently that the runes had not blocked the link and though the other end was not conscious they were still very much alive.
She was unbound but unlike her brother she would not be much of a threat as she had not been trained to fight as he had. She could only guess at her captors intentions and none of her guesses left her with anything close to easiness. So she turned to exploring the link and hopefully whoever was on the other end would find a way to help her.
The hotel room was completely empty no sign that Danny had even been there at all, except for her bag in the corner. Where was she? They had wrapped up filming for the next few days and were planning to return to the states after they finished the last group of shots in a few days. At first she hadn't been worried because Danny had done things like this before.
To her mind Danny was probably just out shopping or else found someone her own age to occupy her time. When she didn't return to the room for several days, she still tried to rationalize it even when her multiple text messages and calls went unanswered she began to get worried in earnest. The director had been annoyed that they had to stop so she could go talk to the police about her missing daughter.
Personally she could care less what the letch thought about her child his features were usually crap anyways, truthfully she only took the role to keep her name relevant and the paycheck from the studio didn't hurt one bit. The cops had been less than helpful and had even made her worry more when they stated that kids went missing here all the time.
She used her phone to look up that information from the hotel room and was quite frankly terrified by what she read online. The police promised to keep her informed should anything concerning Danny show up, so she returned to the set the next day. They were filming the one character's death scene that day and all she could think of was Danny, which she was sure was the reason they didn't have to add the fake tears because she already had real ones running down her face.
After a brief conversation with her parents over the phone she now knew how they had felt when she sent them that joke of a postcard telling them that she had found a cute guy and to not worry. The man that to this day didn't even know he had a daughter. She sat numbly on the edge of her bed and sobbed once again; only this time it wasn't on cue.
Blink had delivered the princes message and then returned to his home. There were answers he needed and while he knew the prince was considered more honorable than most of the people, the child was quite naïve and obviously besotted by the prince.
What she was made her his clans responsibility to protect and to do so he needed more information. So he sought out his father and explained his dilemma away from prying eyes. If the child was strong enough to perform two resurrections within a space of only a few hours and not die doing so she would be much sought after by literally every house.
In order to protect her; secrecy was needed or her very presence could start a war. The prince's idea of awakening her abilities was a plan he wholeheartedly agreed with because at least it would offer her a way to defend herself as well as any rights she would gain simply for being fae.
He just wished he knew who fathered her as well, though her mother had most likely been beglamoured when they shared a bed, so getting her to describe him would be out. Though if he was attractive enough few human women would gainsay any one of certain species, Nuada's own for instance. He found his father reading a fable to a group of pups gathered around his feet and waited until he was finished to approach.
