AUTHOR NOTE
So, this is a big if not bigger deal for me to do.
From the reviews I've read. Even though its not completely right for me to assume that's the opinion of the majority readers, I have some things to say that should be addressed in the now especially about the last chapter.
1. Katara's selection to journey to the past:
Is this a start for Zutara? Maybe, maybe not. That was and is for me to decide depending on how the story flows.
What I thought of the reception of it? I see there's a mixed reaction about it and now I'll throw my two cents in. I'm pretty sure in Chapter 2, I gave a heads up that one of the ships that might sail is Zutara because I'm a personal fan of the ship. I know this may have disappointed a lot of Kataang shippers and / or non Zutara shippers.
See, I have read a few time-travel stories with Zuko and I have yet to see one where Zuko and Katara get together. Perhaps you can recommend if you have seen some. But I figured why not give it a try.
I also said I'm undecided on the ships but after a look through the reviews of the last chapter , I'm a bit discouraged to go through with what I had planned for Zuko and Katara as a relationship and in general. Having a few people sent to the past and changing things can't be all that bad. I have read a few stories like that and I applaud authors who are able to write so brilliantly and keep their readers entertained. Zuko can't be in all places at once. I figured it would be a good idea to have someone else there to move things along but now I guess not.
I admit I am a bit bothered by it even though I take criticism and negative reviews seriously.
Perhaps I am rushing things and making rash decisions with characters and all. I don't know.
Will Zutara happen now? I don't know.
Will any Zuko x someone relationship happen? I don't know. All ships will remain undecided until further notice.
2. Zuko and Harem
If I wanted to write a harem story, I'm pretty sure I would have said so. Ursa may have mentioned it in Chapter 4 but that's all where it will end. There is no harem and this is not a harem story. Not that Zuko is not capable of doing that. I'm sure given the right background and setting someone could write a Zuko harem fic.
Zuko's romantic relationship could go anywhere and with anyone.
3. What will I do?
SO, I will edit the last chapter and change course until further notice.
An Author's story is their world to create and fashion, to give direction to their characters and star players, to weave a tale they too want to see and hope everyone can share in that vision.
I want readers to see the vision I have, to understand the tale I weave. To laugh and cry at the actions of the characters with each new chapter. I want you readers to go on a journey with me and hopefully have a great time when through this journey of a story.
I am a bit bummed out but I'll re-do the last chapter and move on from there.
I hope you stick around this journey with me.
