First off, many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story arc picks up, and the plot thickens as Naegi narrowly escaped injury from a sneak attack while he is begining to have suspicions about the pattern of the attack as the summer festival arrives, and that's where the situation comes in and both Naegi and Maizono are about to face another crisis that would come in their way in an unexpected way.

About several minutes later, the scene shows that Naegi is walking Maizono home, and as the two are talking, they did not notice a lot of people are staring at them, surprised to see her walking with what they deemed as an ordinary boy, and they wondered what is the SCORE between the two and began making speculations on whether she and Naegi are dating or not, suspecting that the two teens are secretly dating, and rumors began to fly within the neighbourhood and neighbors are astonished to hear this about Maizono.
"Maizono has a boyfriend?"
"Seriously?"
"May he's just a friend..."
"I bet he is wooing her..."
"That kid is lucky...being so close to Maizono..."
"Where is he?"
"I wanna kill him!"
"Yeah..."
Amid the rumors, the unseen culprit is among them and you can see that the culprit is not pleased with what the culprit us hearing and decided to follow the two teens to see what Naegi is up to, feeling that Naegi is UP TO NO GOOD, and vowed to PROTECT Maizono from what the culprit deemed as corruption against her.

Ch. 79: Engeki no Tame ni Renshū Suru
About 15 minutes later, Naegi and Maizono arrived at her house, and she invited her classmate to come inside, and though he politely turned down at first, he was persuaded and he went inside, and there the two teens are alone inside the house and began to have tea and snacks while discussing about the upcoming summer school festival, yet they opted not to talk about what happened earlier about the dog attacks and Naegi became a bit mentally distracted as he wondered if what happened earlier is coincidence or not.
"Naegi-kun...?"
"..."
"Naegi..."
"Ah, Maizono-san..."
"Are you okay?"
"Uh, yeah...I'm okay..."
"Is there something wrong?"
"No...not really..."
The two teens are unaware that the unseen culprit is outside the house and he can see the two from a distance, and the culprit is getting irritated towards Naegi, and vowed to get him out of the picture so that Maizono would be SAFE from HARM, and the culprit leaves the scene as some pedestrians are passing by the house and did not notice the stalker lurking near Maizono's house, and as several minutes have passed, the scene shows that Naegi is leaving Maizono's house and Maizono told Naegi that rehearsal is taking place after classes tomorrow and she would be home late and Naegi asks if she wants him to wait for her.
"Want me to wait for you?"
"No, its fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"But still..."
"Don't worry about me."
"Are you sure about this?"
"Yup."
Maizono told Naegi that there is no need as Musiku said that he would drive her home tomorrow and Naegi nodded seeing that she is in good hands because a teacher is going to escort her home tomorrow, and seeing that things would be okay, Naegi bids Maizono goodbye as he took his leave and she waved him goodbye as he left the scene, and about five minutes later, Naegi is walking the streets and he is in deep thought as to what happened earlier, but then he sensed something and turn around, where he saw a van is heading his way and he jumped out of the way, and the van crashed against a parked car, and Naegi looked around to see if there is anyone suspicious lurking, and so far there isn't, except for a crowd forming and asks Naegi if he is okay after seeing him dodging the runaway van.
"Hey!"
"Are you okay, kid?"
"Need help?"
"I'm fine...really..."
"You sure, kid?"
"Maybe you should see a doctor..."
"How about it, kid?"
"Thanks, but I'm okay."
The van's owner came and checked his van and there he discovered that the hand brake has been disabled and is at loss on how this has happened, and Naegi is baffled at the turn of events and he attempted to use the red suit's holographic image to get some vibes from the wrecked van to try and get a clue, but the driver did not want anyone to get near his van, and Naegi is unable to get a clue on who his assailant is, and a car is passing by, where the unseen culprit glared at Naegi, seeing that the Luckster escaped death and vowed to put him out of his misery.

The next day, the scene shifts to Hope's Peak Academy where Naegi entered the classroom where Maizono greeted him with concern and told her she learned about the vehicular accident and asks him if he is okay, in which Naegi assured to her that he is fine and asked her if there was anything strange that happened near her house, in which she says that things were normal and nothing strange happened throughout yesterday, and Naegi is at least relieved to see that she is okay.
"So nothing happened, then..."
"Yes."
"But still..."
"I'm fine, Naegi-kun...its you I'm worried about."
"I'm okay, and since you said you're safe, then I'm fine with it."
"Naegi..."
"Sorry if I made youvworry, Maizono-san..."
"..."
By then, Ishimaru came and told the two that Musiku is summoning the Class of 78 to the auditorium to rehearse the play and the two teens nodded as they joined Ishimaru as they soon went to the auditorium where Musiku is sitting in front of the piano and told the rest to take their places as Maizono is at the center and Musiku us getting ready tonplay the piano and soon the class began practicing their school play-musical and all were busy, and the guidance counsellor passed by, and is pleased that the Class of 78 is getting along well with the music teacher and felt that things are going smoothly for Hope's Peak Academy.
Meanwhile, the scene shifts at the Principal's office, and there you can see Kyoko Kirigiri glancing at the computer while looking at the table where Musiku Direkutah's credentials are displayed, and right now she is checking Musiku's past records from his previous works from other schools, and when Jin came, he is rather worried that his daughter is spending time investigating the music teacher instead of participating with her classmates in doing a musical school play and asks her why is she spending time there and not join her classmates.
"Because I need to dad."
"But you already..."
"My instinct tells me that Musiku is not what he appeared to be."
"Kyoko..."
"Please, dad...let me continue my investigation..."
"You already saw the fact that Musiku is different from Taren Tomaneja..."
"Despite that, my intuition tells me to dig deeper until everything is confirmed."
"Kyoko..."
Jin was quite concerned that his daughter still doesn't trust Musiku and tries to convince her that Musiku was proven to be CLEAN and is not like Taren Tomaneja, and seeing that she might encounter some roadblock should her dad tried to use his authority to make her stop doing her investigation, she feigned by pretending to stop what she is doing and leaves the office, and Jin is relieved that he managed to persuade his daughter to stop, and outside, Kirigiri managed to print informations of the previous schools that Musiku worked before, and decided to try to go the schools and conduct a secret investigation so as not alert Hope's Peak of her secret investigation as she is doing this for Naegi and Maizono's sakes. However, the guidance counselor passed by and saw Kirigiri and tries to persuade her to participate with her classmates in doing the musical play.
"Kyoko...why are you here? The others are waiting for you."
"Sorry, but I am busy..."
"The school festival is near, and your classmates are exerting efforts to make the school play a success..."
"..."
"You should join them and participate..."
"I can't..."
"No can do...come along."
"..."
Kirigiri tries to decline, but the guidance counselor wouldn't have any if it and took her towards the gym and there she told Musiku that Kirigiri is here to join, in which he said that he is fine with it and Kirgiri's classmates urged her to join as they feel that the class would be complete if she were here and that they wanted to hear her sing, something they never seen her do something like this before.
"Come on!"
"Join us!"
"We want to see you sing, Kirigiri-chan!"
"Yeah...a singing detective..."
"Come on and participate!"
"Yeah!"
"It'll be fun!"
"..."
Seeing that she couldn't get out if this, and not wanting to arouse suspicions, Kirigiri reluctantly joins her class and participated in the play, and there Musiku began in which Naegi and Maizono did their parts playing the lead of Romeo and Juliet, and there the rest sang their parts, and by the yime the practice ended, Musiku was emotionally complomenting Maizono as he said that she reminded him of someone he cared about, and she thinks he is praising her which she accepted, while Naegi wondered why Musiku would act like that, while Kirigiri took note of what Musiku said, and as practice time is over, the class went back to their classroom yet Kirigiri sneaked out of the academy to conduct an investigation on her own, as she sensed somethig troubling.

Much later, the scene shifts to the classroom where the Class of 78 is, and everyone was pleased at how good it felt in practicing for the play, and there it is shown that Togami is in charge of the costumes for the play, and his classmates playfully reminded him to shoulder the expenses of buying the stage costumes much to Togami's chagrin yet he is forced to oblige since it is part if the class and his participation would earn him high marks in the report card.
"Okay, Togami..."
"You know the drill..."
"You're in charge of buying the props..."
"Hmph. You don't have to remind me..."
"Think of it as part of the test..."
"I admit that I am doing this just to get high grades for my report card...so don't think that..."
"Oohh...Togami-chi is such a softee..."
"S-softee...?"
Meanwhile, Naegi is still a bit bothered about what Musiku told earlier about Maizono, and he still recalled about the accident last night, and he is beginning to wonder if these are just coincidence, and yet he did not have solid proof about somethig that would tie Musiku since he saw proof that Musiku is not like Taren, and he decided to talk to Maizono, and there the two are alone and he told her if she encountered anything strange since Musiku became their music teacher.
"No...nothing."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, really."
"..."
"What is the matter, Naegi-kun?"
"...you see..."
"...I see...but Musiku is an okay teacher."
"..."
Maizono said that she did not encounter anything and said that Musiku is an okay teacher and that her fear towards him was gone after getting to know him, and seeing that she is not displaying anything strange, he decided to take her words for it, and there Ishimaru came and said that tomorrow is the day that the festival would come and that they must be ready for tomorrow, in which everyone beamed in response, but then Asahina noticed that Kirgiri is not around, and when the bell rang, it was dismissal, and there Ishimaru assigned Naegi to tell Kirigiri about the big day tomorrow.
"...and that is what you'll do, Naegi."
"Okay, Ishimaru."
"Good."
"..."
"Remember...you will play the lead role of Romeo and Juliet..."
"Yeah, I know..."
"So you better be ready..."
"Got it."
Naegi nodded and left the academy, and is on his way to Kirigiri's house, and he was walking alone at the streets, and he is somewhat preoccupied as to why Kirigiri is not around in the past few days, not participating in the practice and that she is not at the academy, even though there are no classes due to the sections participating in doing the preparations for the school festival and he is wondering what she us up to, and he decided that when he arrives at her house, he will ask her what is she doing up to this time.
"Yeah...I better ask her directly and..."
By then something struck Naegi from behind and he is knocked out, and the unseen culprit is shown carrying Naegi and placed him at the car's compartment and locked it, then went inside the car to drive and speeds of to an unknown direction.
