Chapter two : Class is in session
" And that class, is how the Mitochondria functions in support of the cell.". Yi Momeru finishing the lesson. Content that the class is fully engaged and understands the material and it's content.
" Questions, queries or complaints?.". Asked Yi .
A student raised a hand. "Yes, Ameyi-chan.".
" My question Sir, Since the cells mitochondria plays a central role in energy production is the energy finite or varying.".
"It depends on the cells need and the age of the cell. For example a young cell quickly produces more energy than a dying cell. A young cell quickly expands the energy while the older cell holds it's energy, expanding it slowly.".
Miu asked" Momeru-sensei can you explain how is a cell hold energy and can cells regulate their energy expansion?.".
Yi answered " Certainly Miu-chan, you see a young cell deplete their energy quickly in order to reach a state of equilibrium in energy expansion and conservation. While an old cell holds it's energy to remain functional and stave it's destruction. In regards to cells regulating their energy it all leads to energy demand and supply. The young cell may expand a constant energy output to reach equilibrium the trick is how an organism uses that energy to be efficient in its day to day existence.".
The next question was asked by Kiba.
''Momeru-sensei since mitochondrial DNA is passed from mother to daughter, can it be affected by mutation like nucleic DNA?. If it can what are the implications to an organism?.".
Yi answered "Kiba-chan ,as far as biologist's have observed (Mitochondrial deoxyribose nucleic acid)Mdna cannot be altered. The core function of Mdna remains the same through respiration energy production. I have not heard of a study to introduce mutations to Mdna of an organism. Be that as it may it is an interesting prospect to think about, genetically engineering a cell to be efficient in energy production if possible.". Yi having an amused tone composed himself and said.
'' You and the next generation have to answer that question and its ethical consequences if there are any.".
The class ended and the rotation of periods ran their monotonous cause until lunch. The three teens namely Kenichi, Miu and Renka were on the rooftops having their lunch when they observed that Yi was leaving the school grounds with his itasha(lame car). Nijiima made it up also. It was Kenichi that asked" Everyday since Momeru-sensei arrived he goes off to.".
"Probably to eat lunch.". Said Niijima making it to the rooftops. The three having not felt his presences a shiver ran down their spines.
It was Kenichi who regained his composure and asked" What do you know Niijima?.".
Asking knowing that the Alien boy knew something about these escapades of the new teacher." Well, even with my powers and connections I am still not sure as to what as to what to make of the new teacher, he is a complete unknown a mystery as of yet, but I have observed that he emits a certain type of aura every time he gets back from lunch?.".
"Aura?, what do you mean Niijima?.".
Asked Kenichi."I mean to say that he looks happy , no more than that, yes more than happy it is as if he is in lo...lo..., my powers fail me to say it. Its the mushy feeling that go with the word that upset my dark powers.".
It was Miu that caught on to what Niijima was trying to say. She said" Are you saying he is in love?.". Holding out both her hands while making a triangle." It appears he is sick in it too.". Said Niijima making a disgusted face, while Miu had a sparkle in her eyes. It was Renka that asked.
"Hey Alien, how can you tell?." . Niijima not taking offense to being called Alien said" Its easy to tell, he always has this faraway look in his eyes every time he returns from lunch.".
That caught Miu's attention as she is the one who spends more time with the only other female member of Ryozanpaku as it clicked to her that instead of the disinterested look in her eyes she has had this faraway look in them. Her intuition was tingling she will have to get to the bottom of this mystery one way or the other.
Meanwhile Yi Momeru pulled off the parking lot of the train station. Gets out of the car and heads to the food stand where he usually eats his lunch. There in a Floral pattern pink kimono stood Shigure Kosaka waiting on him. The two share the common pleasantries and courtesies. This meeting was set to open a dialogue between the two. The meeting went as it usually did. It was only Yi that projected an air of controlled anxiety while Shigure remained projecting a placid air about her.
The mood had a little tension between the two. Yi decided to change it by saying " Shigure-San, these couple of days have been good since I met you. I enjoy your presence very much. What I am saying is that I would be very much pleased if you can spend time with me this Sunday.".
Shigure's cheeks brightened pink before she composed her features drawing a deeper breath than usual said with a hint of excitement in her voice "By spending time...you mean ...like a date? ".".
This excitement in her voice did not escape the keen hearing of Yi. He answered " Yes, I believe a date will enable us to gain a greater understanding of each other .".
Yi wanted to know things about her where she lives, her family and friends, what she likes or dislike and also why she carries so many weapons on her person. It was easily evident to Yi that she practice martial arts and is a weapon master as her ki output indicated. Shigure had similar curiosity about the man named Yi especially the apparent ability to perform a feat that she considered at the level of the Elder.
She answered" Am available...on Sunday...but...meet family...first...to see if...they approve of you...before Sunday .".
Yi had many questions in his mind but her words and the slow way of speech it would drag on for too long but what confused him as Shigure sounded like his family would challenge his worthiness of her. He could respect that as even his family would like to approve of someone who would be his equal in life, Yi refused to have arranged marriages and catch-22's with 'prestigious 'clans in the world of Murim.
Yi replied "I will come tomorrow for lunch after my medical examination.".
He spoke again " Wait where do you live? I never got around to asking you.".
Not to scare him away Shigure said "Musashi street house number 4.".
It was impressive that Shigure spoke without pause when giving the information. " Do you perhaps know the Koetsuji and Ma clinic in that street?.". Yi asked .
" Yes I know it...why?.".
" I am to go there for my medical checkup it is the nearest clinic. ".
Shigure said " I see it is next-door to my residence. ".
Yi had a glint in his eyes and then said " Oh! you get to see Koetsuji-sensei anytime you want. ".
This confused Shigure a bit as she asked " Sensei?.".
Yi nodding said '' Everybody in the medical field knows him I may be a high school teacher but I have a doctorate in Neuroscience I have once been invited to his lectures. I have had the honour to meet with him the man who holds the moniker of the medical demon. ".
Shigure spoke '' Tch! It seems Akisame is well known than I give him credit for. ''. She had an unimpressed look on her. This caught Yi by surprise as Shigure referred to Koetsuji by name . He said " You sound like you know him personally? .
Still unimpressed face said " Yes I do .He is the one that named me he is my father figure. ".
Yi was gob smacked by the revelation and asked " You related to him? .".
His eyes showed awe as he asked the question . She simply nodded. He thought to himself of how will he get his personal approval and nothing came to mind. He will have to wing it tomorrow. The two finished their meals as the 12:30 pm train arrived parting their ways Yi heading back to school and Shigure going to one of her missions by taking the train.
As Yi arrived four pair set of eyes tracked his every every move from the roof tops . To Niijima's credit the new teacher had a lovestruck countenance which he composed to a neutral gaze.
The school day ended and the weekend started.
At Ryozanpaku to women are having a bath on a hotspring.
The younger woman of the two Mouth says " Curious, did something good happen today?. ".
She is answered by a questioning look from Shigure.
Miu seeing this and say " You look happy these past few days I thought something happened to you. ".
Shigure said " Curious date.".
Saying the last part in English.
Miu squealed " You went on a date ? With who? Do I know him? Is he rich? .".Asked the teen.
Miu was answered by a blank stare. In the surrounding area the peeping tom Ma Kensei heard Shigure talking about a date he was shocked that he forgot to conceal his presences.
That is when Shigure sensed him quickly grabbed her weapon. Confusing Miu who took a defensive stance. She began to speak " I know you are there Kensei and this night will not end without me castrating you. ".
' Oh snap. '. Thought Maybe Kensei having been the first time hearing Shigure speaking so many words without pause. Sensing imminent danger the Chinese Master of all Chinese martial arts made for a quick escape.
Not sensing him anymore she relaxed back into the hotspring having forgotten about Miu's question.
Back in the dojo kenichi was training with Shio the karate master they were practicing their Kata's showing his cute disciple an advance form of his martial art. The two were distracted by a frantic Ma Kensei running like a chicken on fire. They both paused looking at the peeping tom mumbling something about a date Shigure castrate. All this the Chinese master was saying reached the two ears making no sense to both of them.
Back at Yi's apartment.
The young man took off his shirt .
This reveals all around his body similar to Takeda Iki movement restriction vest.
This one is made of weights making his body weigh five times his normal weight. He takes a deep breath before he flexes his muscles. The lean and toned body not bulky at all as if he does not have a single gram of fat on his body.
He clenches his hand making popping and cracking sound. His Ki flows through out his body and becomes a visible Aura of white like plasma gas. The glow was not overpowering.
This sight of ki power was held down by the weights on his body.
He thought to himself ' This is good my Ki flow has increased dramatically but the state of my body will not be able to fully use this amount of Ki safely. I have to suppress it so I don't harm people with it.'. Yi entered a meditation pose suppressing his Ki to within tolerable level. This took him time to accomplish . To anyone who was sensitive enough to sense ki would have been able to sense the Ki spike within the 5 kilometers radius. Unfortunately someone did pick up the Ki spike.
The individual was about to close in to his target to deliver the killing blow to the victim. As he closed in and was centimeters from landing the blow. He felt a Ki that stopped him dead on his tracks . The Ki spike was so huge that he felt his being being crushed and his soul analyzed as if cell by cell by the foreign Ki. The feeling did not last long but under the pressure of that Ki felt like a lifetime. He would have to change his ways if he is to survive in this world as there would be monsters about . And though he was a trained to be a predator and not a prey he felt insignificant in the presence of that Ki. The would be assassin decide to retreat and consider his ways as soon or later he would come face to face with monsters that hide in the shadows in this world.
In the world were normal people can not live six shadowy figures were gathered speaking amongst themselves. One of them said
'' His Ki signature has been felt in the real world how do you advise ?.". Asked one of them .
Another one said " We can not act as that would be interfering with his dharma and that is nothing short of declaring war against the ruling clan. We destroyed his cultivation of how he recovered it while living in the real world is a question of much discussion as we all saw his cultivation destroyed. ".
A certain one said " Can we tolerate his presence in the real world? If left alone for long he will unite the real world and Murim and we will lose our cultivation if we don't act now. ".
One among them said " Let us force his return to Murim surely he will not be at the same level of power before he left Murim. ".
The one said " We will use spies and assassination attempts to make him cause problems to draw the attention of Murim. Then that will solve our problems and get rid of him for good. All of them started laughing evilly.
I know no fight scene but I Promise next Chapter will be longer and have a fight scene between Yi and a Member of Ryozanpaku. which one you will have to wait and see in the next chapter . But a clue he is strong wink wink.
