First off, many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story arc opens up in which another detective-themed plot comes in, but this time it willbe abit light-hearted as Naegi is about to get embroiled at an entertainment type of job, and thus is based on a form of entertainment which became prominent in the early 70's up to the late 90's...wel...you'll soon see what it means...so for now..go read on and enjoy!
At an unspecified location the scene shows that a person, covered in ake up and funny clothes, is running away from something, and in his haste, the person, who turns out to be a clown, went towards a nearby tent, and got in, and the clown is looking around to see if he could find a place to hide, but then two men dressed in back, came tumbling in, and surrounded the clown and they told him to surrender, in which they taunted the clown that he has no chance of escaping them.
"Come with us now..."
"You have no chance of escaping us..."
"Accept your fate..."
"It is your destiny..."
"At least you get to keep your dignity."
"Now cease this foolishness and submit."
"Yes...and you will not suffer any further."
"Do it now...or else."
The clown was terrified and attempts to ran towards the exit, but the two men began tumbling around, suggesting that they are acrobats, and caught up with the hapless clown and began beating him up and the clown was knocked out and they dragged him way towards the exit and the two men carried him towards a waiting van and the van drives off heading to parts unknown, where you can see a banner which says INTERNATIONAL CIRCUS, and it states that the circus will be performing in Tokyo for a month, suggesting that it is an international circus traveling in several parts of Asia, and Japan is now a host to the traveling circus.

Ch. 81: Chōsa Suru Atarashī Kēsu
A several days later, the scene shifts to DSC office, and there Kyoko Kirigiri paid a visit as she is going to borrow a file which houses an unresolved case and wanted to see if she could solve it as she wanted to test her skills as a detective, and she felt that it has been over six months since she last went here due to her spending time at Hope's Peak Academy, and that she has been involved with a lot of MISSIONS with Naegi due to him getting embroiled with a lot of MISADVENTURES due to him using the RED SUIT, and after getting the file she wanted, she is about to leave when the head of DSC showed up and summoned Kirigiri, much to her irritation.
"Excuse me, Ms. Kirigiri..."
"..."
"Would you come with me inside my office...?"
"..."
"This would take a few minutes, I promise."
"...very well...sir."
"That's the spirit."
"..."
Ever since before being scouted by Hope's Peak Academy, Kirigiri has already met the new head of DSC has earned the reputation of being arrogant and is quite unpopular among the detectives, veterans and rookies, and the new head has a disdain for the Kirigiri family due to him being jealous at how famous and skilled the Kirigiri family has, and he resented Fuhito for it yet he sees that venting his ire at Kyoko is a good way to humiliate the family and decided to spite her by calling her saying he wants a word with her, and inside the office Kirigiri asks the new head of DSC why he summoned her and said he that he is assigning her to a case.
"...and what case would you likr me to investigate...?"
"Here...this is the case I would like you to investigate."
"A missing clown...?"
"Yes...sensational, is it...?"
"Are you serious about this?"
"Yes...of course."
"..."
"And you are the right person to be assigned to this case, Ms. Kirigiri."
Kirigiri raised an eyebrow as the DSC head is assigning her to find a missing person and it involves a clown at the traveling circus based in Tokyo, and she felt a bit insulted as the head is assignig her to a case which the police would be suited to this kind of case and asks him why is he assigning her to this kind of case, but the head sarcastically said that this is a good test for her as a detective and claimed that he wanted to see how far the granddaughter of Fuhito Kirigiri would go, and said that she can turn it down and he can write a report that a granddaughter of a famous detective is a spoiled teen who couldn't handle a simple case such as a missing person, and that the clown's family called DSC all the way from Serbia saying that their relative hasn't been calling them for a week, and Kirigiri was starting to get irritated at how he is insulting her and her family, but seeing that this case may be a way to shut him up, and make him eat his words, she accepted the case and left.

A few days later, the scene shifts to Hope's Peak Academy where classes are ongoing, and you can see Kirigiri looking at her notes, and her mind is somewhat preoccupied as she is thinking about the case she has been assigned with, and began to wonder if conducting an investigation at the circus is a good idea and is thinking if she did the right thing in accepting the case seeing that it was so simple that the police would have handled it and she is sure that the new DSC head is doing this to spite the Kirigiri family yet she ended up accepting it because she wanted to prove him wrong.
After a few hours classes ended early due to an emergency meeting and the students are going home early in which some went to the mall, while others went home. As she is preparing to leave, she is approached by Naegi and he gives her the notebook he borrowed and thanked her for letting him borrow it which she just nodded and after noticing her stoic expression, he asks her if there is something bothering her and she answered him politely.

"A skilled detective...assigned to investigate...a missing clown...?"
"Quite a low blow, it appeared..."
"You could have turned it down..."
"I should have...but the DSC head is insulting me and my family...so I accepted it to shut him up and prove to him how wrong he is..."
"So...where would you start your investigation...?"
"At the circus...within Tokyo."
"Seriously...?"
Naegi is a but surprised to hear that she is conducting an investigation on a missing clown from the circus at Tokyo, and told him that she is heading there right now to commence her investigation, and Naegi told her that he felt that it was a long time since he last went to the circus, which was nine years ago, and asks her which circus she is investigating, and after telling him, he felt that something is indeed odd as why would someone want to lay a hand on a clown, and there she asks him if he wanted to tag along, in which he accepts, saying that he liked to see the circus to unwind and to recall what is lkke going there again.
"So you want to come with me to the circus just to unwind...?"
"Yeah..."
"Why?"
"Just to unwind...and to recall what is like to go inside the circus...the last time I went there is when I was six years old...and I want to see how the performers are preparing themselves..."
"...I see...fine, you can come along..."
"Really...?"
"Yes. Come on."
"Okay."
As the bell rang, it was dismissal time and the time now is 12:00, and the academy students leaves the campus, and Naegi took his bag and went with Kirigiri as the two teens leave the classroom and are heading outside, where they are greeted by Asahina and Ohgami, and there Asahina asks where are they going, in which Kirigiri said she is investigating on a case, and when asks why is Naegi going with her, Kirigiri said that he is just tagging along and nothing else.
"Eh? Naegi-kun is tagging along...?"
"Yes."
"Really, Kirigiri-chan...?"
"Yes."
"..."
"Is there a problem, Asahina-san?"
"Oh, no...not really..."
"Very well...we shall take our leave."
After that, Kirigiri and Naegi took their leave and went to the parking lot where they boarded Kirigiri's car and left the campus, and Asahina began to wonder if there is something going on between those two, suggesting something romantic is brewing, but Ohgami cautions her not to jump to conclusions, saying that just because Naegi and Kirigiri are hanging out with each other doesn't mean they are going out, saying that Naegi is just tagging along with Kirgiri's investigation and nothing else.
"Ehee-hee-hee...I know that, Sakura-chan..."
"Still...you should not make unjust assumptions..."
"I know..."
"Still...Naegi is such a good-natured boy...he easily befriends anyone..."
"Yeah...and that is why he gets along well with our class..."
"Then we shlu,d not make speculations when he is with other girls."
"Right, Sakura-chan."
"..."
Not far, Maizono overheard the conversation, and wondered what is Kirigiri up to and why is she taking Naegi along, and wondered if this has something to do with the red suit he is using, and sighed seeing that she nearly gave in to her insecurities as she realized that she shouldn't get jealous at Kirigiri because she is hanging out with Naegi, and she should learn to trust Naegi when he is with other girls.
"Naegi-kun..."

At the Kirigiri residence, Fuhito is entertaining a guest who is also a fellow detective from DSC, and there the guest told Fuhito about Kirigiri's latest assignment, and told her that he saw that the DSC head did this to spite her and the Kirigiri family, and Fuhito realized this as he figured that the DSC head had always resent the Kirgiri family because how the family is skilled in terms of deductions abilities and he is probably jealous, thus he assigned Kyoko in a case which is normally a police job, yet he sees this as a good way to prove him wrong that he can humiliate the Kirigiri family in his own leisure.
"Are you sure about this, Fuhito-san...?"
"Yes."
"But..."
"Do not worry...Kyoko can handle this case."
"Really...?"
"Yes. Let us have faith in my granddaughter."
"Okay..."
"Good."
Fuhito told the guest that he has nothing to worry about, and that he has complete trust in his granddaughter and she will solve this case and prove that the Kirigiri family is a famous family of detectives, and that the DSC head will be the one who gets humiliated in the end, and the guest nodded seeing how wise and humble Fuhito is.

At outer space, tbe scene shifts to the UFO, and there Ophani and Cherubi are watching the monitor where they saw Kirigiri and Naegi are heading to some place, and they knew that Naegi is about to use the red suit to do a good deed, though Cherubi is feeling that Naegi has attracted another mischief yet Ophani told him not to jump to conclusions and instead urged him to observe first before saying anything towards Naegi.
"Makoto Naegi...he is about to commence in doing another mission of belevolence..."
"As if..."
"What was that, Cherubi...?"
"I bet that boy will screw up again..."
"Oh, he will not..."
"Are you sure...? He might attract attention again..."
"Cherubi!"
"What?"
As the two aliens are bickering again, Seraphi came and told the two to stop arguing over such trivial matters and said he has complete trust in Naegi, and reasoned that six months have passed and Naegi has proven that he has never used the suit for personal gain, and that is proof that he has made the right decision in choosing Naegi as the user of the suit, but Cherubi cautions hom not to get too complacent as he is still unsure if Naegi can be trusted.
"But, Seraphi...you should not get too..."
"Calm yourself, Cherubi..."
"But..."
"We have been monitoring that boy for the past six months...and until now he has never shown any signs of giving in to temptations..."
"But still..."
"Do not let personal doubts cloud your judgement..."
"Seraphi..."
"Give that boy a benefit of a doubt..."
Seraphi told Cherubi to have faith as the fate of their planet lies on how Naegi is able to carry himself, and once Naegi is proven to be capable of saving Earth, then he will ask hom to save their alien planet, and Cherubi reluctantly heeded Seraphi's word.

Hope you like this chapter, and while there is no action yet, this sets up the story arc where Kirigiri investigates a traveling circus...and Naegi tags along with her on the account of wanting to revive his interest in circus...
This arc is inspired from the classic NES game, Circus Charlie...and expect some elements to be shown in the upcoming chapters...
