Pandemic epidemic whatever it is called it hit my country in the worst way. This just a confirmation that I am still kicking.
Chapter three :This is Ryozanpaku.
It was a gloomy Saturday morning the weather was reflecting the emotional state of Yi. The drive to reach the Koetsuji and Ma surgery was without incident. His lame but dependable car did take him from point A to point B without much issue. As he neared the sanctuary of the strongest dojo that practice the life giving fist techniques (Katsujiken) it was noticed by its grandmaster Furinji Hayato that a being of great power was approaching.
His senses much sharper then the rest of the other residents of Ryozanpaku. He started "I sense a great presence approaching. ".
The master of all Chinese martial arts said " A skillful person to be able to suppress that amount of ki.".
The philosophical Jujutsu master rubbing his moustache said " It feels kind of familiar I wonder who can it be. ".
The hundred degree street brawler said " Is he a threat?.".
The death god of underworld Muay thai said "Apaaa!.".
It was the mistress of all weapons that surprised the other masters " Mhmm... I ... Think... He is here. ". All eyes turned to her as if they were inquiring if she recognized the ki signature that was approaching.
It was Akisame that asked aloud " Are you familiar with this ki? ". Shigure's face remained stoic and emotionless giving nothing away making it difficult for the masters to read her.
She said "He is... My acquaintance ".
It was Ma Kensei that asked " Is he the one you went on a date with?.". Shigures narrowed her eyes at the short pervert.
She said Mysteriously " You'll see. ".
The masters not knowing what to make of that were brought to the attention of their disciple screaming "Dooooraenomo! .".
Akisame and Kensei went and checked up on him they found him fallen over in a pile of mess on the torture I mean training device. That is when Akisame commented " Your stamina has improved but your ki control still has ways to go. ".
Ma Kensei said " I will teach you an exercise to improve your ki control after my shift at the clinic. Akisame we better open the clinic or will be late.". The two masters left the still smoking desciple opening the side gate of the yard into there clinic they both sensed the ki approach their practice.
"Well it seems we have our first patient for the day. ".Ma stating the obvious . The two opened the door and before them a man dressed in a sport tracksuit and a hairstyle similar to Shio Sakaki's the hair colour jet black and deep brown eyes. In appearance a young man younger than Apachai Hopachai a year older or two than Shigure. These observations were made in a glance of an eye. What the eye didn't see was the trembling air surrounding the man creating an orbital shock pattern around him.
As he drew closer, It was Ma Kensei that spoke first "Welcome to the Koetsuji and Ma clinic . I am Kensei Ma the Chinese medical specialist and this is Akisame Koetsuji Specializing in chiropractor and modern medicine. ".
Yi entered the clinic ,inside he began to speak '' I am Yi Momeru , though I am also involved in the medical field as a contract neurosurgeon I will be in your care elders. ".
Bowing slightly to the two doctors. It was Akisame that spoke " Are you Yi? as in the medical savant who has published several journals in the field of Neuroscience and genetics?. ".
The eyes of Yi widened at the question as he never once thought that a man of the stature of Koetsuji Akisame would have read his work on these subjects. Yi said " Koetsuji-sensei you have read my work on those two fields? .It is rare to meet someone who has read my research who is not in those fields . Although I am not sure of being a savant.".
"Iyaaaaa! .". Squaled Kensei Ma ."You are the renowned herbalist Yi Momeru. "
Yi said " Elder you have read my book on exploring the world of herbilogy?. I wrote that book in my many travels around the world. ".
All three man went quite for a moment. Then all three burst out laughing. The three man were not mundane in their abilities. For Yi it was his knowledge of the human brain, for Akisame it was the nerves in the body and for Kensei it was its meridians that lifeforce flowed.
It was Kensei that asked "So what brings you to our clinic?.".
It took a few seconds for Yi to reply drawing in a deep breath and said "Well you see this clinic is the nearest place that can accommodate my specific ailment, for you see my body after a certain period needs to be adjusted to remain functional without certain aides. And as I am certain that your keen observation has noticed without the said aides my pulse (ki) becomes irregular and erratic. Thus with a full adjustment and a special breathing technique I can regain full control of it. ".
Akisame asked" If I may ask, what are these aides you mentioned?".
"They are training weights that aide in the development of my ki control and body restrains in movement. The art I practise require such aides. ".
Akisame said " That explains the bone setting but it does not explain the barely controlled ki flow that is being released. ".
Yi decided to abandon all pretense and answer as a martial artist.
"The art I practice requires me to seal up and suppress a majority of my ki flow. As you can imagine I took off the training aides to test my growth in terms of my ki control and body movement. My body only require an adjustment while the ki control require special breathing techniques. That is why I am here today. Though to you it might seem as if I have weak control over my ki. I am holding back about 98% of my ki flow. If I was not holding it back by this much amount after removing my aides I would not be able to walk within 5 meters of a normal person. ".
This Yi said as he started to change his breathing pattern. The ki flow increased slightly then returned to normal. Decreasing the ki pressure . The two masters were shocked that such a strong ki existed and it was not at full flow just barely controlled. To them the ki flow registered a master-class master. They knew Yi was not lying to them as the shift in the ki flow also shifted the ki pressure. After the change of ki pressure and flow. Kensei asked.
" How does Shigure know you? .".
There was a noticeable weaning of Yi's composure as the two masters starred at him with pearcing gaze. A blush crept on Yi's cheeks which was noticed by the two masters. Yi answered.
" She ... Is an acquaintance .".
" What more than that?". Asked Akisame.
Yi feeling the underlying pressure that accompanied the question did not have an immediate answer but started thinking about the answer to the question .
Since he had met Shigure on that fated day the sudden image of the stoic face of Shigure encroached on his thoughts. The soft features of her face. The delicate eyes that appeared untamed by modern times. Her long hair. His thoughts moved to her neck also delicate accentuated by the choker she wears. His thoughts moved down still as he imagined a seizeable bust lean figure and evident curves and strong legs. At this point his thoughts changed again. Shigure appeared holding a bouquet of white roses and adorned in a pure white wedding dress next to her Akisame was walking her down the isle. The scene overwhelmed Yi and a deeper shade of red across his face took hold. He answered.
" She is a bundle of pure intentions. ".
Due to excitement Kensei's eyes glowed with ki. He being a married man understood quickly Yi's answer. Akisame must have read his intentions as a smile blossomed on his lips. Akisame spoke.
"Well then Mr Momeru let's get you to the examination table to commence treatment.
The two doctors lead Yi to the private rooms for the exam as they had decided to cross examine him so that after a full body adjustment accupuncture will follow. Akisame saw that Yi's body held many secrets. His muscles were similar to his own but showed a great deal of refinement in both creation of the pink muscles. His nerves were pinched in such a way that the limb lost strength and reduction in power when exerted.
Akisame asked about this and was surprised that Yi was open about his circumstances regarding his background as to how his body was the way it was. This lead to Kensei also making discoveries about his ki paths.
He explained by Yi why his meridians were blocked. Both masters were astonished by his explanation. As Yi asked if what was done to him could be reversed.
Both doctors did not promise anything but said with further study a better treatment could be devised.
Bone and muscle adjustment was done then came the acupuncture it was in the middle of the treatment that the ki around Yi disappeared and the heavy presence lifted. Yi using a special breathing technique was able to hide his ki making it hard for the doctors to detect.
Akisame and Kensei asked about the technique. Yi explained that it was an Aikido technique. The shock was evident in both the doctors as Aikido was thought to have gone extinct as an art devolved to the well known Aiki-jujutsu the closest being the Kushinade jujutsu.
They not asking anymore questions decided to shelf their thoughts about the revelations they gleaned from Yi.
During the treatment Ma Kensei and Koetsuji Akisame made discoveries that they would talk among themselves as doctors partaining to Yi's body. One of which was that his body was that of a mixed martial arts practitioner. What amazed them the most was how much ki his body is able to support. They had an inkling of suspicion that he was one of the rare individuals that can reach the level of the Elder or were close to reaching it.
The truth was that he was stronger than Hayato Furinji. If a comparison was made between the two. It would be like a comparing a master class martial artist with an expert class martial artist. The only advantage Hayato Furinji would be experience in a fight against Yi.
In other categories such as strength and speed he would lose. Though physical strength could be counted by by speed and speed counted by technique and technique by physical strength. A three way deadlock. Non having the advantage over the other.
If Yi and Hayato would fight in earnest the city would have to be evacuated to reduce collateral damage in the cross fire.
Akisame and Kensei having looked over Yi's body and seeing that it had strength and speed they wondered if it also has technique in a spar.
The question is who would best test this, Akisame would volunteer but his martial arts would not provock the right response also his fellow doctor kensei would not provoke the right response.
That only left the other residents of Ryozanpaku. Apachai would hold back little making him a good sparing partner as kenichi can attest to that in life threatening spars he has with Apachai.
The beat you to death master would surely prove sufficient as a test to this unknown quantity that is Yi Momeru.
"I think that does it.". Said Ma Kensei pulling out the last acupuncture needle.
" How do you feel?". Akisame asked having done with the last patient.
" I feel more in control now, even the residual ki has subsided. I have to commend the good work you both have done." Said Yi internally he thought ' Maybe with this I might be able to unlock my sealed ki meridians'
Taking another breath he looked at Akisame and asked" is Shigure available?.".
" Well let's head to the dojo and find out.".
Yi paid the bill which amounted to 25000 yen this surprised Yi but couldn't fault them for charging so much as they did a good job. He took out the cash while muttering " I guess I will not be taking her to to that place.". The Masters eyes glowing with ki asked " Take Shigure where?.". It was concern rather than a threat.
Yi unnerved answered" I was planning to reserve a lunch date with Shigure in this new high end Japanese restaurant that has opened near the CBD.".
Akisame said" If you want my advice just keep it simple. Then again I and the other members of Ryozanpaku have not determined if you are worthy.". At this the young man swallowed a lump he did not know his throat had .
The two Masters dragged Yi to Ryozanpaku via the side entrance leading from the clinic to the main dojo.
The first thing he saw was the younger man kenichi going through a drill of katas of what appears to be a karate style that emphasized a combat oriented approach to battling. No Olympic equivalent he could think of since this one was more traditional and passed from Master to Desciple. This was evidenced by the keen observation by a man who had a bottle in his hand.
Yi started" My student has impressive form, he is steadily increasing his ki control as he immerse himself in those katas, if he could fully grasp his ki he would reach the next level.".
The three Masters heard this and all eyes were on him as if asking what he means by that especially the student part.
Yi clarified" If Young kenichi is here where is Miu?.". On que Miu stepped out of the building of the dojo followed by her grandfather Hayato Furinji.
Hayato asked" Ho! And how do you know my granddaughter? and young kenichi?.".
Kenichi lost focus and was surprised to see Miu gasping . Miu gasped and said" Momeru-sensei.". His eyes followed Miu's to Momeru-sensei. Yi stepped forward and gave a bow to the old man then said" Sensei( elderly man) I am a teacher (sen-shi)at kyoro it is how I am aquatinted with your granddaughter and young kenichi Elder.".
"I see and what brings you to our dojo?.". Asked Hayato.
He did not get to answer as a familiar voice spoke" So you have come.". Said Shigure. That is when Yi turned to Shigure with a feint smile and returned to Hayato and said'' She is the reason I am here.".
Yi turned again to Shigure and said" I was in the neighborhood and decided to drop by and see you.".
A pout from Shigure and a little blush which was feint crept up on her cheeks as her eyes remained emotionless. All the other Masters of the dojo noticed this exchange and the change in Shigure.
Since they could not have a private meeting at this time it was the Elder that used his obstructive lung technique to speak to the other Masters except for Shigure and the two disciples. Yi used his Presence technique to speak with Shigure. An outline of of Aura projected by Yi formed the appearance of Yi though his mouth was not moving his projected ki in his form was able to speak to Shigure.( This is similar to Mikumo Kushinada's fully released ki.) Everyone was able to see the interaction but did not know what was being said.
Yi started ' This is your family Shigure, they seem warm and friendly.". He continued and said" Are you ready for tomorrow's official date?.". The crimson on her cheeks deepening as she nodded. " Have you told your family?.". She shook her head. Yi continued" Well no time like the present to tell them..".
The Elder's obstructive lung technique was asking each master if they knew you young man Yi . Only Akisame and Kensei gave a positive to the question.
It did not not escape the Masters that Yi was privately communicating with Shigure since the technique he was using was similar to the killing fist master Mikumo Kushinada. Hayato was curious about the young man's strength and sort to test it.
He began" That is an interesting technique you are using.".
Yi replied" I could say the same with about your technique to Elder, though I don't know how it is excuted I can feel the change in the wind pressure movements which leads me to believe it is an air ki manipulation able to manipulate the air with ki as to direct it so the vibrations reach only the focus of the user. Truly an amazing technique if I am correct in my theory.". The Masters were amazed at how much Yi was able to analyze the technique and give such description of its mechanics all in a passing glance.
Hayato Furinji exclaimed" hoo! To be able to gain such insight at a glance I am surprised by your ki control to be able to explode your ki in such a way, that the projected ki is able to communicate without us following is quite impressive.".
Yi said" It is only natural Sensei (older person) to arrive at this conclusion when you are fully intertwined with your ki cultivation.".
He added" Something at this level should be a walk in the park for someone at your caliber.".
The Elder asked" How is it you being so young yet are knowledgeable beyond your years?".
Yi smiled and said" I am a Teacher. Though I don't know how deep your awareness is of the fabric of this reality. I am from the parallel/hidden world of Murim. The world that lies beyond the underworld of both the light and darkness. All that is of this prevailing order. I can not say more lest I draw the attention of them that guard and boundaries of the order.".
The parallel world the hidden one beyond the light and darkness. Hayato having been around for so long was aware of this order that sought to... He could not believe it. If its true then this young man would be the results of such war mongering ancients. If they the legends are true then fulfillment of such thinking he would be the results of that and to continue the same thinking he would be interested in young Shigure to continue his bloodline pedigree.
He finally understood the depth of this young man since he was the Pinnacle of martial arts. The parallel world even he was not privileged enough to walk in. To all the other Masters it looked like he was the only one who had a clue of what Yi was alluding too.
Hayato Furinji said" If you claim to be from such a place, I would like to test your skill in a friendly spar.".
Yi said" A spar would be nice, but tomorrow I have a date with Shigure I would not want to engage in something that would tire me much.".
All the Masters released their ki except Shigure, but Yi tanked their fighting spirit without even flinching.
The Elder then said" Consider this a test to see if you are worthy of young Shigure.''.
Yi said" Fine, lets get on with it on the condition that you don't participate as our spar would not be of value to the young ones. That also eliminates Kensei and Akisame Sensei as they know intimate secrets of my body. That leaves us with the two Masters.''. Hayato Furinji commented" To estimate my power you truly are not of this world, it will have to be one of the Masters that will test you then.".
Yi nodded and said" If I would make a suggestion, since it can not be you who I spar with for fear of collateral damage let us also exclude senior Kensei and Akisame since they know something about my body. This leaves the two Masters.". Pointing at Shio and Apachai.
The two Masters released alot of ki making the two disciples flinch at the pressure emanating from these Masters. Yi and the rest of the Masters showed no outward reaction. What happened next provocked a reaction as also Shigure released her ki. Yi and other Masters were surprised as all eyes turned to her. Once she had their attention she said" I will partake too.".
Yi said" Shigure not putting you down as a woman, but I don't think the idea of me raising my hand to you will sit well with my conscious and my mother's teachings about how a man should act in front of a lady. Anyway sparing with you now before going to our first date will conflict with my emotions too much to give a resolute demonstration of my ability to protect you.". Shigure wanted to say she did not need protection but the way Yi said it made her chest tighten and cheeks burn. She backed down hearing Yi's words.
The two Masters to determine who would face Yi in this sparing contest played Rock beats Scissors beats Paper. Alas due to Shio being slightly drunk lost the contest and it fell upon Apachai to spar with this mystery man called Yi.
The two Masters squared of. Yi started" Apachai Hopachai my name is Yi Momeru let us have a good match and teach a thing or two to the young ones.". Pointing at Kenichi and Miu. For the Masters two sentences raised an eyebrow.
Yi then said" Kenichi, Miu watch carefully for this what awaits you when you reach the next level.".
Kenichi activated his Ryuusui Seikuken to enhance his Inner eye. Yi made a casual observation of the technique making a note of how similar it is to one of the Aikido moves that enabled one to see through the attack pattern and dodge without looking. He saw that Miu was equally invested in the spar as she excited her spirit and enhancing her Inner eye.
Yi was happy that the young ones were paying attention to the match. He turned to Apachai who had entered a fighting stance of Muay Thai, Yi settled into an Aikido stance of absolute defense. Hayato seeing that the two were ready said" Begin!.".
That is when both Yi an Apachai moved. A novice would think that since Yi took a less aggressive stance that he would be giving ground to Apachai making a naive conclusion. Apachai and Yi clashed at the center of the sparing grounds sending a pressure shock wave of wind mixed with ki exploding outwards between the clashing Titans .
As expected Yi was on a defensive while Apachai sent a flurry of punches that rained down on Yi who skillfully parried with palm strikes dodged and weaving away from Apachai's assault. This lasted for only two seconds with over 50 punches thrown by Apachai. The explosion was the negation of the elbow strike Apachai had delivered to Yi who used his palms to catch it. The two quickly separated and went to their starting positions.
Yi's palms were smoking a little as was Apachai's fists as the ascending vapour was noticed by the spectators. That is when the Masters finally noticed that throughout the engagement Yi had only been invoking not holding it at all.
Yi took a deep breath and said" Impressive strength are your punches, they leave no room to counter attack a testament to your speed. Now then I hope you don't mind me going on the offensive, prepare yourself for I am about to release my fighting spirit (kiai).". Yi having said that released his ki focusing its full pressure on Apachai. The air around him trembling a sure sign that of ki being released (ki no kaiho). The ki pressure (kiatsuka)of the released ki enveloped Apachai not affecting the Masters or disciples. Apachai tightened his defensive stance as Yi said" Here I come Apachai.".
Yi lunched his technique: Momeru-ryuu Brutus. Right in front of the Ryozanpaku members four replicas of Yi stood facing Apachai. They moved to the four cardinal points cutting off any escape routes for Apachai.
The clones of Yi(Bunshin) launched their attack . Momeru-ryuu: Shi-happō(Attack on all sides). Apachai in this predicament took a deep breath and crouched down he launched the Muay Boron: Flying knee. An attack that propelled him through the air where his knee collided with Yi's outstretched palm thrust . A move called Momeru-ryuu: Falling Meteor.
The two Masters seemed frozen in mid-air for a couple of seconds until the attacks negated each other resulting in a thunder clap due to the collision. Both pushed back falling to their starting positions.
That is when Akisame started to give commentary about Yi's last attack noting how he used clones as a distraction to launch an attack from above. Kenichi asked" How did he do that anyway?. I could not follow him until Apachai moved.". Akisame answered" That goes to show how much more training you need, but to answer you Apachai followed the change in ki pressure as the clones don't have any pressure aimed at Apachai. This move by Yi I am sure you can pull it off better than Yi since you lack any form of killing intent.". Kenichi filed that information away for later review.
Yi started" That last attack Apachai was very strong if I didn't shift that amount of ki I would be dead anyway is your knee alright?. My left hand is a little shaken even though I put my full weight on that attack.".
Apachai responded" Apapapa.". He looked at Kenichi and Miu and a smile graced his lips then said" My students watch carefully as this is the level of strength you are to attain to continue walking the path of a Martial artist. Apachai I think it is time to take this to another level.".
Yi drawing in a deep breath and tightening his muscles which caused the top of his two pieces sweater to be blown off revealing muscles akin to Akisame's physic. The air around Yi fled his presence as he entered the holding of ki(ki no shokō/ ki no totte) using a special breathing method he fully immersed himself in ki no shokō. That very moment the sky darkened a little as if the sun dimmed. The two disciples were having a hard time keeping their consciousness as the weight of Yi's ki bore it's full weight on them no longer released in a focused way but anyone within ten paces felt the brunt of it.
Shio exclaimed" Hoy! Hoy! this amount of pressure could kill a normal person.". The Elder stepped behind the two disciples to ward of some of the pressure. The two disciples regained their breath and steeled themselves to see the last attack of the two Master class fighters.
Yi looked at the two disciples then to the Elder nodded to him then turned to Apachai and said" This is the weight of the ocean at two kilometres deep. Expand your senses to their uttermost limit. Don't drown at this weight here l come.".
Yi charged at Apachai using his secret skill (Hijutsu): kataiki(short breath). As Yi was charging forward he disappeared and reappeared in front of Apachai with his fist cocked ready to strike. Though surprised at the sudden speed Apachai launched his strongest kick Muay Thai: Chai kick. The kick seemed to obliterate Yi's face but everyone was surprised the clone disappeared allowing the already charging to use another skill Hijutsu: Tori kome( secret skill: surround).
Yi got behind Apachai who noticed too late as his balancing foot gave way under him as he was falling backwards he launch a reverse elbow but Yi was already done pushing him to the air. What was left of Yi was a clone to distract Apachai as the elbow passed through the clone noticing too late the outstretched hand of Yi, it slammed Apachai square in the face as he used the Aikido technique called Da-chō nage( Ostrich throw) burying Apachai in the dirt. Apachai pulled off a desperate move in the last second of the spar Muay Thai: Apa punch. The punch hit Yi on the shoulder of the hand that was throwing him lessening the force and the full weight from being applied.
The throw was enough to give Apachai a concussion. Before Yi, Apachai's half buried head was still trying to hold on to consciousness, Yi straighten himself and said" To make me go barely above 30 percent and be able to lend a hit at that critical moment you are indeed strong Apachai.". Apachai having heard Yi's words fell unconscious.
Hayato made the call" winner by knock out Yi Momeru.". The two doctors rushed to the contenders assessing them both and finding no life threatening injuries. Apachai had a concussion and Yi was nursing and dislocated arm at the shoulder.
When Yi heard the amount of time it would take to be back at 100 percent he he exclaimed"2 days!, I have an appointment tomorrow and would very much like not to miss it". Yi started to breath in a certain rhythm his hands vibrating grabbed his shoulder and shoved it in it's socket, the bruised hand also healed. Then he focused his attention to Apachai his eyes emanating a laser light placed a hand on Apachai's head channeling his ki through Apachai. At first there was a minor discomfort from the prone form of Apachai then relaxation as his body was healed through the use of ki no genki(Energy of wellness) art of Reiki(Energy healing). The two doctors were in a stupor as they saw something unbelievable happen in front of them. The Elder internally agreed that Yi has far greater mastery of ki than even him. The disciples were amazed of what they have witnessed. Kenichi mused that falling in the realm of mastery is still a long way down.
