First off, many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story arc picks up where the last chapter left, in which the Class 78 members are enjoying their tour inside the circus and are awaiting the MAIN EVENT, as Naegi braces himself fornthe main act he is about to perform, as the conclusion draws near, so read on and enjoy!
At the dating service, Chihiro was there when he got a call in which the manager said that he has found a date and Chihiro played along, and yet he is surprised to see that the DATE turns out to be an adult man, in his 30's, and the man in charge said that the man will be Chihiro's date, which Chihiro had to play along in order not to give himself away, and the DATE greeted Chihiro, unaware of Chihiro's true gender, and promised that he will give him a date he will never forget.
"Hello."
"Um…hello."
"I will be your date for the day."
"I see…"
"Please to meet you."
"Same here."
"Then shall we go? Let us start our date."
"O-okay…"
Chihiro just nodded, and is about to leave when he saw the Russian woman coming in and is talking to the man in charge of the dating service and Chihiro is beginning to suspect something and now he has to think of something to tell Kirigiri of what he discovered, but right now he has to focus on how to keep his DATE preoccupied.
By then, the DATE offered Chihiro to go to the circus which he promised that Chihiro would have a good time, and Chihiro realized that Naegi and Kirigiri are there at the circus and this would be a good way to tell them what he figured out so far and accepted his DATE's offer of going to the circus, which the DATE is rather willing to go, though Chihiro can tell that the DATE is somewhat bored.
"So, the circus, right?"
"Yes..."
"So...do you want to go?"
"Sure...if you like..."
"Sure...if you want to, then I'm in!"
"Then it is settled..."
"Sure...just like you said..."
"Okay..."

Ch. 90: Sākasu no pafōmansu
As the hours passed by, the circus is beginning to get a bit full as people began flocking the place, and it was a booming business in which it would earn the circus a lot of production capital and make a lot of money, and most of the people who came here are families and teenagers, along with children, and many of the performers began showcasing their skills outside their tents, which impressed the audiences, and this was a good thing for the performers.
Meanwhile, the Class of 78 were loitering around the area where most of them are enjoying the scenery, and Asahina was thrilled as she always wanted to see the circus, and to her joy, there are doughnut stalls and she spend her money and binged on the doughnuts, eating non-stop, and Ohgami cautions her not to eat so greedily which Asahina apologized as she was so excited that she couldn't control herself at the fact that she is in the circus.
"Asahina...try to slow down..."
"Sorry..."
"I never seen you so excited..."
"Well...it has been a long time since I last come to the circus..."
"Really?"
"Yeah...and I'm glad to have come herenafter a long time..."
"I see..."
"Ehe-heh-heh..."
Meanwhile, Celes is also enjoying herself as she finds stalls that sell royal milk tea, and is even bossing Yamada around, and she noticed that Togami is rather bored and asks him why is he so bored when he should enjoy himself, and Togami said that it is not on his agenda to go to such a commoner's playground but he is following his butler's advice to unwind and admitted that he got suckered by his classmates into going with them here.
"Why are you so bored, Togami-kun?"
"You have to ask? I am bored."
"How so?"
"Being in a commoner's playground like this circus..."
"Yet you still came here..."
"My butler advised me to try this place...and even my classmates suckered me into coming here..."
"Then at least you should try to enjoy."
"..."
Celes giggled and told him he can be a bit childish at times despite him being the president of his company and told him to enjoy life as stress can consume him if left unchecked, and Togami scoffed at the idea yet he is willing to put up with all these as he is hoping his classmates would get bored and go home so that he too can go home, but right now he is seeing that his classmates are having a good time, and he is stuck with them for the time being.
This is also a blessing in disguise for Hagakure as he sets up his own stall, offering fortune reading to passing customers, and in less than 20 minutes he earned nearly ¥100,000 and he is pleased with it, and the Crazy Diamond Gang were looking around, seeing animals such as chimpanzees, elephants, and even penguin doing rehersals, and Yukimaru was a bit bored and Ohwada asks if he is bored with the circus, which Yukimaru admitted a bit but said that he is looking forward to the human cannonball performance, and Ohwada is looking forward to it as well, curious to see if Naegi could pull it off or not, and soon the scene shifts to the idol band as Maizono is being flocked by fans, asking for her autograph, which she obliges.
"Maizono-chan!"
"It's her!"
"We want your autograph!"
"We want a selfie!"
"Can I pose with you?"
"Pretty please?"
"Sayaka..."
"My favorite idol!"
Maizono's fellow idols were relieved to see that she is back to her usual self, though they wondered if her behavior earlier is due to Naegi, and they began to wonder what Maizono see in Naegi, as they see him as an ordinary boy, yet Maizono appeared smittened by him and they are baffled as to why a mere ordianry boy caused Maizono to fawn over him, since there are other boys around, yet Maizono sets her eyes only on Naegi.
"She's back to normal..."
"Thank goodness..."
"But still...why is she so giddy with that boy?"
"Makoto Naegi?"
"Yeah...him."
"What does she see in him...?"
"Well...in fairness he does look cute..."
"Ayaka...!"
By then, another several minutes passed by and everyone began entering the tent, where the performers are doing their acts, and the opening performance shows the clowns doing their usual antics, which entertained the crowd, and the Class of 78, Maizono and her idol band, and the Crazy Diamond Gang arrived and took their seats and watched the performance, some laughed, while other balked at seeing the clowns, and after the performance ended, the next scene shows a lion tamer and a lion, and as the act is underway, Asahina was a bit terrified as the tamer placed his head inside the lion's mouth, but Ohgami assured that nothing bad would happen to the tamer.
"Ah! The lion's gonna eat him!"
"Relax, Asahina..."
"But...Sakura-chan...!"
"The man is well-trained...he knows what he is doing."
"But..."
"Do not worry..."
"..."
"Just relax and enjoy..."
As the performance went on, it soon ended and the next one shows a group of penguins parading around, sliding on a slide and some are dancing, and it was very entertaining and the Crazy Diamond Gang, particularly Yukimaru, jokingly told Yamada that he should join the circus as he feels that he can get along with the penguins, though Yamada took offense seeing that Yukimaru is making fun of his weight which mildly started a tension.
"What was that?"
"Hey, I'm just kidding..."
"It's not funny...!"
"Geez...relax..."
"..."
"Oi...clam down, you two..."
"..."
"..."
Ohwada stood up and calmed his two friends, and told them to enjoy the show which the two did as Ohwada said. The next performance showed that the female elephant trainer is parading her elephant and the elephant did a number of tricks which entertained the crowd, and by then Celes noticed that Togami is quite bored, and told him to at least appreciate that he gets to go here as he would never get another chance to enjoy a simple life like this one.
"Why are you so bored, Togami-kun?"
"You have to ask? I am bored."
"How so?"
"Being in a commoner's playground like this circus..."
"Yet you still came here..."
"My butler advised me to try this place...and even my classmates suckered me into coming here..."
"Then at least you should try to enjoy."
"..."
Not far, Chihiro and his DATE are watchin the show as well, and while Chihironis fine, his DATE was bored to death and is just pretending to enjoy it, and Chihiro can tell, and as he is looking around, he saw Kirigiri cleaning and sweeping, and as he is thinking of a way to sneak out, he saw the next performance which involves a trapeeze and acrobatic acts, and he saw that among them was the Russian woman he saw earlier at the dating service, and he is deducing that she is involved in the conspiracy, and he is now sure that Naegi and Kirigiri are in trouble.
As the three Russians are doing their acts, Chihiro came up with an idea and tokd his DATE that he needs to use the toilet, which his date accepted.
"Um..."
"Yes?"
"I need to use the toilet..."
"Oh, okay."
"I will be back..."
"Oh, take your time...I'll be okay..."
"Okay then...excuse me..."
"Sure."
Chihiro leaves and and is heading towards Kirigiri, and while at it, the scene shifts to the idol band, where Maizono and her four fellow idols had just watched the trapeeze act, and there Maizono saw Naegi standing beside the cannon, still wearing the red suit and cape, and she is a bit worried at what would happen next, and her fellow idol, Ayaka, asks Maizono what is the score between her and Naegi, in which she said that they are close friends, yet she is not ruling out the possibility that they might fall in love with each other.
"Really, Sayaka...?"
"..."
"Are you really in love with that guy?"
"Well...yeah..."
"Is he really a straight guy and not a playboy-type?"
"No...he is really down to earth..."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Ayaka knew that Maizono has feelings for Naegi, but she decided to support her knowing that this would make her friend happy. Meanwhile, Naegi had just finished watching the trapeeze act, and soon he is approached by the midget performer and is telling him that he is up next, and said that his upcoming act will determine whether he would stay with the circus or get fired outright, and Naegi felt that this more like a warning than an advice.
"Really...?"
"You heard me, ahoge kid. Screw this act up, and you're fired."
"Sounds more like an ultimatum than a good luck wish..."
"That is how things work here in the circus. You either succeed or you're booted out."
"..."
"So you better make this good."
"I will."
"Well, you're up next, kid."
As Naegi is distracted, one of the Russian performers began to stealthily toggle the cannon as he intend to do something that would get rid if Naegi, and Naegi himself is unaware of what is about to happen next, as he is being briefed by the midget performer on what he should do once its his turn to perform, telling Naegi to please the crowd first before going inside the cannon, which Naegi nodded, as he did not notice what the Russian performer is doing tonthe cannon.
"...and that is how you will do..."
"Okay..."
"You better do a good job impressing the masses...and it all depend on you. Either you pull it off or you're out of here."
"Sounds more like an ultimatum than a good luck wish..."
"That is how things work here in the circus. You either succeed or you're booted out. So make it good, you ahoge kid."
"..."
"So you better make this good."
"I will."

Looks like the countdown to the cannonball act is ticking away...and Naegi has no idea what is about to happen as the Russians are SPIKING the cannon in an effort to get rid of the LUCKSTER. His classmates are enjoying the attraction acts and have no idea what Naegi got himself in.
