First off, many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story arc picks up where the last chapter left, in which Naegi will finally perform his DAREDEVIL act, which will no doubt cause his classmates to worry…as this arc is nearing its conclusion, so read on and enjoy!
At outer space, the scene shifts to the UFO where the three aliens are observing the circus, and Seraphi is rather intrigued at the human behavior of the audience who are watching the performance, as these kind of things did not exist in their planet, and Ophani is observing the events as well, but Cherubi saw Naegi next to the cannon and he is rather annoyed that the Luckster is using the red suit to do something so trivial like working at the circus, but Ophani reasoned that he is aiding Kirigiri in solving a crime, and Cherubi said that Naegi is like a dog doing what Kirigiri says, and Ophani took offense and defended Naegi from Cherubi's criticism.
"There you go again, Cherubi!"
"What now?"
"Why are you always being so vocal towards the boy?"
"Makoto Naegi...he is like an Earth animal obeying its master...!"
"What do you mean?"
"Makoto Naegi is doing what his female companion tells him to do...at the cost of using the red suit!"
"Kyoko Kirigiri is only giving Makoto Naegi instructions when it comes to solving a case. You can't just defile the boy like that..."
"That is how I base my observation..."
By then Seraphi spoke and urged the two to calm themselves as they are to observe what will happen next, and reiterated that he has full trust in Naegi, and told Cherubi that he should not be too hard on Naegi because of his human faults, and told him to have faith in him knowing that Naegi is a benevolent boy, and Cherubi sighed as he reluctantly abide Seraphi's words, and Seraphi promised that things will turn out okay for all.
"Cherubi...you should calm down and observe."
"But..."
"Let us see where this lead to...if the results turn out to be disastrous, then we will make our move."
"Seraphi..."
"Trust me."
"...fine..."
"Good. Now let us resume the observation."

Ch. 91: Kyanonbōru no Kauntodaun
Back at the circus, Chihiro is sneaking his way through as he attempts to reach through Naegi to warn him that there are people within he circus who are connected to the dating service and that the Russian woman performer is possibly a spy, and as he is halfway towards reaching Naegi, Kirigiri stealthily grabbed Chihiro and pulled him towards a backstage, and he is relieved to see her and there the two classmates talked, and they both appeared to figure out the connection with the abduction, the circus, and the attempted murder of her and Naegi.
"...and that is what I figured out so far, Kirigiri-san..."
"I see..."
"With the Russian woman at the circus seen at the dating service...it seems that the two cases are connected."
"Yes...the attempt on my life by locking me in the cage and have a tiger attack me...then the paragliders I encountered are probably the ones who work here inside the circus."
"The the guy who was kidnapped..."
"Yes...Ang-Lee is the focal point here...and he may the only one who can help us in solving this case."
"Kirigiri-san..."
"..."
Both figured out that Bismarck Ang-Lee is running the dating service and that the one managing it may be connected as he is unwilling to talk about Bismarck and tries to cover it up, and when told by Chihiro about the Russian woman frequently going to the dating service, Kirigiri sensed that something is up, and sensed that there is indeed something going on at the condominium building, and there they saw the three Russian performers doing their trapeze act and acrobatics, and Chihiro pointed out the woman as the one he saw earlier at the dating service, and Kirigiri noticed the acrobatics of the two male Russian performers, and deduced that the two men are the ones who kidnapped Bismarck.
"Those two acrobats...!"
"Huh?"
"They're...they are the ones I encountered at the condominium...!"
"You mean...?"
"Yes, Chihiro-san...they are the ones...!"
"Then that means...?"
"Yes...it is now connecting everything."
"..."
Kirigiri told Chihiro that she sees the connection and said that following the three Russians would be a good start if they are to find Bismarck, and she asks how were things at the dating service, in which Chihiro said that the manager is bored to death, and when he asks him about Bismarck, the manager seemed to want to avoid the subject and sets up a date, and there Chihiro told her that he is with him right now, and he too is bored to death, and Chihiro said he managed to sneak away in order to get to Naegi, and Kirigiri surmised that there is a possibility that the DATE may be a watchdog, which Chihiro realized that it may be a possibility.
"Given what you told me so far..."
"Yes...?"
"Then there is a possibility that your date could be a spy of sorts..."
"Really...?"
"The possibility is high."
"Then..."
"Either the manager wants to get you out by sending you a date or..."
"Huh?"
By then, Chihiro's date showed up, having noticed that Chihiro hasn't gotten back, and there Kirigiri played possum by INTRODUCING herself as Chihiro's friend, and the two seemed to get along, until she tricked the DATE into revealing that he came cane from a wrong area, and then the DATE accidentally touched Chihiro's crotch, and he realized that Chihiro is a boy and not a girl, which further revealed the DATE's true colors.
"Hey...why is your crotch...?"
"..."
"Say...you're not a bitch...are you gay?"
"Uh-oh..."
"You fucking brat...! My peers will think that I'm into shotacon fetish!"
"S-sorry..."
"You fucking son of a bitch...!"
"!"
Chihiro reacted on instinct and threw a box if popcorn on the guy's face, salt struck his eyes, and Kirigiri kicked the guy on his groin, then did a chop strike on his nape, which disoriented him and she took out a handcuff and cuffed him on a scaffold, and she took his gun and aimed it on his cranium, as she began asking him what is his connection to the dating service and where Bismarck is kept, but Chihiro noticed that the guy wasn't budging.
"Okay...talk."
"..."
"Where is Bismarck Ang-Lee?"
"..."
"What is your connection to this dating service?"
"..."
"Kirigiri-san...he's not budging..."
"I noticed, Chihiro-san...he may be a trained not to buckle under pressure."
Kirigiri chose not to question the guy further and struck him on the head with the gun, knocking him out, and she told Chihiro to go back to his seat as she will tell Naegi about the situation, and Chihiro nodded as he went back to his seat and Kirigiri saw that the three Russian performers' act have ended, and she looks around to find Naegi, and by then the ring announcer began to announce the next attraction, and Kirigiri's eyes widened seeing who is up next.
"AND NOW, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN...FOR OUR MAIN ATTRACTION...THE CANNONBALL ACT...AND INTRODUCING THE NEWEST PERFORMER TO PERFORM THE CANNONBALL ACT...WITHOUT THE AID OF A SAFETY NET...HERE HE IS...MAKOTO NAEGI!"
The crowd were surprised to see that Naegi is up next, walking towards the center of the ring as the cannon is being set up, and he raised both arms, holding both sides of his black cape before bowing to the audience, and the ring announcer told the audience that Naegi will be shot off from the cannon without the aid of a safety net, which some of the audience were amazed that Naegi is doing that act without a safety net, which drew various reactions from the crowd.
"Whoa..."
"Check that out..."
"A cannonball act without a safety net?"
"That's dangerous..."
"Does that kid know what he's doing?"
"Look at him...I think he is losing his sanity..."
"I agree...with what he's wearing...the kid thinks he's CAPTAIN GONZO..."
"Seriously?"
As Naegi is going inside the cannon, his classmates were anxious, and worried that Naegi might get hurt from doing such a dangerous stunt, and Asahina is worried for Naegi, as she is tempted to go there and dissuade him, but Ohgami told her to let things go for now, believing that Naegi knows what he is doing, and if Naegi is not up to it, then he should have backed out at the last minute, and assured to Asahina that Naegi will be fine knowing that Naegi wouldn't do sonething he is not confident to do.
"Calm yourself, Asahina."
"But..."
"Naegi will be alright."
"How can you...?"
"If Naegi is not confident about doing this act, then he should not be standing there now. If he is doing this, then he knows what he is doing. I am sure that he will be okay."
"Really, Sakura-chan...?"
"That I believe."
"O-okay...if you say so..."
Yamada and Kuwata stared in disbelief that Naegi is doing that stunt, and they had a feeling that something not good is bound to happen, in which Kuwata commented that Naegi is doing something crazy just because he wanted to earn money and take Maizono out on a date, which Yamada seemed to agree, seeing that Naegi has LOST HIS MARBLES and is bound to get himself hurt for doing such a dangerous and crazy stunt.
"Naegi-dono..."
"Oh boy..."
"Huh?"
"Naegi must be nuts...he has to be out of his mind to do that stunt..."
"Really?"
"Just look...doing a cannonball act...with no safety net...doing this just to earn money so he can take Maizono out on a date...isn't that a bit crazy...?"
"Um...I'm not sure..."
"I bet he is..."
Likewise, Ohwada and the Crazy Diamond Gang are anxious and curious to see what Naegi can do, and Yukimaru commented that Naegi is crazy, but Ohwada seemed to disagree saying that it would take a guy with guts to do that stunt and believes Naegi can pull it off, and told Yukimaru that he is sure Naegi will be okay as he knows that Naegi can do impossible things, which Yukimaru begged to disagree, saying that he would be impressed if Naegi lands on the ground in one piece.
"I doubt it, boss."
"How so?"
"Look...a cannonball...no safety net...wearing a superhero getup...he has to be crazy to do that in front of an audience..."
"So? This is the circus...so of course he would..."
"If that were me I turn it down...no way am I going to do that stunt..."
"Relax, Yukimaru...I'm sure Naegi's gonna pull it off."
"Seriously, boss?"
"A real man's instinct."
Meanwhile, Togami appeared to act out of character, showing some concern seeing that Naegi is going inside the cannon, and that there was no safety net, and what's more, he felt that he has seen Naegi in the red suit before, and wondered if Naegi is the flying guy he saw a few weeks ago, and Celes giggled saying that Togami has a soft spot and do care for his classmates, and Togami blushed as his soft spot was exposed since he was train not to show that side of himself and maintain his usual demeanor, and defended himself saying thay he is just curious at what Naegi can do.
"My, Togami-kun...so you really are a softie..."
"What...? You're..."
"Why act so concerned for Naegi...?"
"AHEM! I'm just curious to see how he can pull of such a stunt..."
"Really...?"
"Yes."
"Then how about we make a bet?"
"What was that...?"
Celes then made a bet that Naegi would land on the ground intact, which she will pay if Naegi did not land on the ground, and Togami accepted as the two stared daggers at each other, and this caused their classmates to shift their focus on the two and told them that they should show worry over Naegi, feeling that their friend may have gone too far doing such a dangerous stunt, and both Celes and Togami resumed their focus on Naegi, as he is climbing inside the cannon.
The five idol members were surprised at the sight they are seeing, and Maizono is the most worried seeing what Naegi is doing, and even though she knows that Naegi is wearing the red suit, she is still worried at what would happen next, wondering if he would get hurt, or if his secret would be exposed as the SUPER GUY, and her idol members asks Maizono if Naegi is really THAT crazy, seeing that he is going this far just to earn money and take her to a date.
"Hey, Sayaka..."
"Huh?"
"That Naegi...is he really that crazy...?"
"Yeah...why would he go that far? Surely he can earn money a safer way that doing this..."
"Does this Naegi really like you, Sayaka?"
"Or is he having a loose screw going this extreme just to impress you?"
"Sayaka...is he really trying to get your attention?"
"..."
Maizono is speechless as she couldn't think of something to reply and the scene shows that Naegi is inside the cannon, and the countdown is being announced which Naegi will be shot out of the cannon, and as everyone braced themselves, Kirigiri is heading towards the scene to try and stop it, and she paused upon realizing that it happened before which Naegi was thrown out of the circus, and realized that the cannon may have been spiked, but then she saw the three Russian performers are staring intently at the cannon, where they are sure that their plan won't fail this time.
"Are you sure that the boy will die this time?"
"Yes...he will die a painful death..."
"He will not survive this time..."
"And when he lands on the ground without aid...it will be the end for him."
"I see..."
"Let us witness his untimely demise...and we will rejoice..."
"The end of that brat."
"Good. Once the cannon is fired...we will take our leave."
"As you command..."
Kirigiri gritted her teeth as she is torn between going after Naegi and going after the Russians, and tension mounted as the cannon has been activated and the explosion is heard as Naegi was launched and shot out of the cannon, and the audience watched in awe as Naegi flew out of the cannon, and the scene shows that Naegi's classmates are staring in disbelief and worry as the scene slowly fades in black, not showing what happened next, though you can see that Naegi's classmates had the look of horror in their faces.

Kirigiri and Fujisaki slowly figure out the connection between the abduction, the dating service and this circus..and now they are worrie about what will happen to Naegi once the cannonball is set off…
