Danganronpa: The Greatest Japanese Hero

First off, many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story arc picks up where the last chapter left, in which Naegi is still in danger of dying due to blood loss, and Kirigiri is at loss as to what to do as they are surrounded by cops, and the vehicle they are in is apparently being controlled, thus the two classmates are in a bind, so read on and enjoy!

The two cops were dismayed to see that they couldn't call for reinforcements, and they are forced to follow the van, and soon the van entered Itoigawa, and Kirigiri noticed that the gas tank indicator shows that the van is running out of fuel and she sensed that they have reached the end of the line, and Naegi roused as he can hear the police sirens and asks her if they are at the hospital, and she glanced at him to answer his queries.

"K-Kirigiri…san…"

"Yes…?"

"Are we…?"

"We are fine."

"Am I…going…to…?"

"No, you will not."

"…"

"…"

The van then took a left turn and entered a town and the patrol car is forced to follow it fearing that the suspected culprits might cause trouble as the van maintain its 100 KPH speed and soon this caught the attention of other police cars, and they noted that a police car from another prefecture is chasing it, and each of the cars' cops assumed that it is a stolen vehicle that entered their jurisdiction, and that they decided to join in on the chase, and they began to coordinate with each other through their radios.

"Attention…a stolen vehicle is sighted…commence chase…but proceed with caution…culprit may be armed…"

"We got it…"

"Roger that…"

"Proceeding with caution…"

"We're on our way…"

"Ready to rock and roll…"

"Yee-hah!"

"Another day in paradise…"

Within minutes several police cars appeared and are forming a line as they began to chase after the hotdog van, and this seemed to have attracted the pedestrians' attentions as they were rather baffled at the scene they just saw yet they opted to ignore it, yet they have no idea about what is really going on and the people chose to do their own activities and not question the scene that they just saw.

Ch. 99: Tōchaku

Back at Tokyo, the scene shows that Fuhito is driving the car as he and Maizono are heading for the nearest hospital, and Maizono is trying to reach Kirigiri via the cellphone but all she got was static, and this made her worried about Naegi but Fuhito assured to her that eveything will be okay as he said that they are nearing the hospital, and this seemed to have calm her down a bit yet her concern towards Naegi remained.

"Calm down now..."

"..."

"We are nearing the hospital."

"I...know..."

"Naegi-kun will be fine."

"Really...?"

"Yes. Have faith in him and my granddaughter."

"..."

As the car is about to enter the hospital grounds, something happened as the steering wheel began to move by itself and the car turns around and leaves the hospital, and the doors began to lock and Maizono began to panic while Fuhito wondered what is going on and noticed that the car is moving by itself and is heading towards the exit border of Tokyo, and even the clutch us moving by itself and told Maizono to remain calm as he observe the situation they are in.

"Hmm..."

"Fuhito-san...what...what is...?"

"Calm down, Maizono."

"But...why are..."

"It seems that something is happening."

"If I am correct..."

"...eh? Are you saying...?"

"Yes."

Fuhito told Maizono that he is guessing that something is doing this and he said he believed that the aliens that his granddaughter mentioned may be the ones behind this, and he believes that they may have something to do with the car moving away from the hospital and he is guessing that the car is taking him and Maizono to where Naegi and Kirigiri are, and Maizono couldn't believe what she just heard, about aliens, UFO, and other things, and yet all she can think of right now is Naegi, and she said that as long as it would lead them to Naegi's whereabouts, she won't mind it.

"Then...what Naegi said is true..."

"So Naegi and Kyoko told you about the aliens?"

"...yes..."

"Then perhaps they might be heading there..."

"Huh? Are you...?"

"If my deductions are correct..."

"..."

"Be ready, Maizono..."

By then Fuhito noticed that they are now exiting Tokyo and are about to enter the border of Urawa, and he tells Maizono to be ready, as he has a feeling that they might encounter trouble, such as patrol cars as he pointed out that the car is cruising at 70 KPH, which is over the speed limit, and he wondered that if the aliens are real, what would they accomplish by taking control of the car and making it do things that would attract attention.

At Itoigawa, the hotdog van arrived at a gas station and went there, where the car stopped and the gas refilling machine began to move on its own, the hose went to the van's gas tank and began refilling the van with fuel, and the police cars arrived and surrounded the gas station, and several cops alighted and took positions, and they began to coordinate with each other on how to persuade the occupants to surrender peacefully without resorting to violence.

"What now...?"

"Should we...?"

"No. No gunshots."

"Then what?"

"They might be armed..."

"We should make our move..."

"Do not act rash."

"But..."

Inside the van, Kirigiri saw what is happening outside and she is running out of options as she is still divided on what to do as she noticed that Naegi is gettin pale, while seeing the cops outside, ready to take aim with their guns, and she is tempted to try something, but as she checked the door and window, she realized that they remained lock, thus there is no way of communicating with them, and Naegi roused and asks where are they now, and she could only caress hia forehead as she thinks of something in order for him not to worry.

"Uhh..."

"..."

"Kirigiri...san..."

"Shh..."

"Are...we...?"

"We are almost there..."

"..."

"..."

By then Kirigiri noticed that the van's gas meter and saw that the gas tank indicator showed that the van's gas tank is full, and she wondered what would happen next, and by then the cops were taken by surprise as the police cars began to move on their own and this gives the van room to make an exit, and the van began to move and leaves the gas station, and the cops went inside to give chase, but then the doors and windows began to lock and the cars would not start, thus trapping the cops inside and they were taken by surprise at what just happened.

"What the...?"

"Hey!"

"Is this some kind of joke?"

"Let me out of here!"

"Dammit!"

"Open up!"

"Blast!"

"Geez!"

The van cruises away and this allowed Naegi and Kirgiri to escape, and the cops tried hard to get out of the police cars but were pretty much stuck, and by then the van exited Itoigawa, and out of the cops' reach, and that's when the police cars returned to normal, and the cops got out, and they were in a state of loss and confusion as to what just happened, and they knew that their superiors wouldn't believe this once they tell them of what happened here.

"Shit!"

"Is this for real?"

"Do ghosts exist?"

"What now?"

"Our boss won't believe this...?"

"This has got to be a prank..."

"Must be..."

"Dammit..."

The scene shifts to the freeway where the car had just entwred the border of Maiba, and both Fuhito and Maizono are sitting tight, as they noticed that the car's speedometer show that the car is traveling at the speed of 80 KPH, and she asks him if the aliens are real, and that they are the ones who are controlling the car, in which Fuhito nodded as he told her that so far all he was able to see is the UFO several months ago when Naegi and Kirigiri had just stopped and defeated Masamune Kujo when they thwarted his plans of assassinating the Royal family.

"Eh…? So Naegi and Kirigiri…?"

"Yes…after they thwarted the assassination attempt, I tagged along till I saw the UFO with my own eyes."

"…"

"Hence I will tell you this…Naegi and Kirigiri hanging out together is due to the fact that the aliens entrusted Naegi with the suit and Kyoko acts as his coach of sorts."

"No way…"

"But it does not mean that they are acting like a couple or anything."

"…"

"I am sure you can understand that, Maizono…"

Maizono was still at loss on how to accept that reasoning, and soon they reached the border of Itoigawa, and she noticed that the sun is starting to set, indicating that it would be nighttime soon, and soon they arrived at the gas station where the cops are still there, and both Fuhito and Maizono wondered what just happened, and by then the gas refilling machine began to move on its own and refilled the car, and the cops were baffled as to what they just saw and they aimed their guns at the occupants and told them to come out slowly.

"You two!"

"Step out of the car!"

"Slowly!"

"Put your hands over your heads!"

"No funny tricks!"

"This is a fair warning!"

"Do not provoke us!"

"Do it!"

The occupants were taken by surprise, and Fuhito tells Maizono to calm down, and by then the cops slowly fell to the ground, losing consciousness and the car began to move on its own, leaving the gas station and is heading back to the freeway, and after several minutes the cops regained consciousness, and for some reason, they do not seem to remember what happened, and are baffled as to why they are here.

"Huh?"

"What the…?"

"Hey…"

"Where are we…?"

"Why are we here?"

"What is this?"

"How did we get here…?"

"…"

Much later, it was night time, and the scene shows that the hotdog van has arrived at Mt. Bandai, and Kirigiri wondered if they have arrived at the place as she wondered what awaits them as she noticed that they are heading to a secluded area, as she sees that there are no buildings or anything such, and she checked on Naegi as he is getting more pale and she began to worry, and she is beginning to get seriously concerned, and several minutes later the van finally stopped, and the doors and windows began to open, and there Kirigiri carried Naegi outside and placed him on the ground, and checked on him, where she saw that he bandage was deeply stained, and she deduced that the bleeding hasn't stopped and she is about to patch his wounds when Naegi spoke, in a rather apologetic tone.

"Uh…"

"Easy, Naegi-kun…"

"S-sorry…"

"It's okay."

"I…was so…selfish…"

"No…I am to be blamed…"

"…"

"Everything will be okay…"

As she assured to him that everything is okay, the atmosphere became somewhat silent, and the next moment, the UFO slowly arrived, and is hovering above the two teens, and Kirigiri hugged Naegi as she sensed that something is going to happen and she wondered what is going to happen as she has no idea what to expect, and by then a white, blinding light enveloped the two teens, and after several seconds, the light faded, and both teens were nowhere to be found, and the UFO slowly flies upwards, heading towards outer space and seemed to have taken Naegi and Kirigiri with them.

Hope you liked this chapter, and while there is no action yet, the drama and suspense make up for it, as Naegi and Kirigiri are taken by the aliens, while Fuhito and Maizono are on the way, though they appeared to be too late as Naegi and Kirigiri are already taken.
