First off, many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here a new story arc picks up after the conclusion of the last story arc, in which a new adventure awaits Naegi, but also a complicated one as this arc once again takes place within the confines of Hope's Peak Academy.
However, you'll have to find out what this means, as some of Naegi's classmates are about to get dragged in and indirectly involved in another of Naegi's costumed escapades.
Read on and enjoy!
Six months ago...
The scene shows that a certain criminal, who belonged to a minor-class mob, is about to commit a rather light crime, such as a robbery on a bank, but Kirigiri managed to foil him, yet he is about to shoot her down, but Naegi, wearing the red suit and cape, suddenly came crashing down after a haphazard flight, and uses his body to protect her from the bullets and disarms the crook, and the crook was in a state of disbelief at seeing Naegi wearing the red suit and cape, and when he is tied up and ready to be taken away, Naegi ran off and flew, and as the cops are taking him away, the crook insisted that he saw a guy in a red suit and is flying, which the cops find it absurd, and even police inspector Takaki Ishimaru sees this as a hoax just to get either a light sentence or an insanity plea, and rebukes the crook.
"A guy in a red suit, you say?"
"Yes! I saw him! He's a teenager...and wears a cosplay! He even has some suoerpowers!"
"And what do you take me for?"
"Eh?"
"A teenage detective foiled you...caught in the act...and pretending to be crazy just to avoid prosecution...it will not work."
"What...? No! I'm telling the truth!"
"Take him away."
"No! I ain't lying! There really is a guy in a red suit! Let go! I don't want to go to jail!"
And thus the crook is taken away and spent most of the months in jail, and the crook secretly vowed to get even at Kyoko Kirigiri and her friend for the humiliation he got, and is making plans on how to get out of jail in order to get his revenge.
The present time...
The scene shifts at the Yamada house where Hifumi Yamada came home after attending classes at Hope's Peak Academy, and he saw his elder sister, Fujiko, throwing a fit seeing that Komaru's manga is making waves, and Fujiko wailed as the sales of her manga were ranked only in second, and she couldn't accept that a junior high school girl would be adored by manga fans, and Yamada tries to calm his elder sister down seeing that she is getting jealous at the success of Komaru's manga.
"RRRAAAGGGHHH! UNACCEPTABLE!"
"Whoa! Calm down, nee-chan!"
"How can I calm down? I got a rival who is in middle school! Her manga is outselling mine! And I've been reduced to second best!"
"That's how life is."
"And I hate it!"
"I know...nee-chan...how about this...?"
"What is it, Hifumi?"
"All you have to do..."
Yamada told Fujiko that all she has to do is make a manga that can be a hit to the children and young adults and she can be sure that she would once again become the number one manga writer/artist in Tokyo, and Fujiko took her younger brother's words at heart and thinks of something, and she stared at him and slowly grinned as ideas flow inside her head, and Yamada sweat-dropped at what she is thinking, sensing danger coming his way.
"..."
"Um...nee-chan..."
"..."
"What's with the grin...?"
"Hifumi..."
"Y-yes..."
"You...are perfect..."
"Huh...?"
Believe It Or Not by Joey Scarbury
(Opening Song from The Greatest American Hero)
Look at what's happened to me,
I can't believe it myself;
Suddenly I'm up on top of the world,
Should've been somebody else.
Believe it or not,
I'm walkin' on air,
I never thought I could feel so free;
Flyin' away on a wing and a pray'r,
Who could it be?
Believe it or not, it's just me.
Just like the light of new day,
It hit me from out of the blue;
Breakin' me out of the spell I was in,
Makin' all of my wishes come true.
Believe it or not,
I'm walkin' on air,
I never thought I could feel so free;
Flyin' away on a wing and a pray'r,
Who could it be?
Believe it or not, it's just me.
Ch. 103: Kage no Naka no Parori
A week later a van came and stopped in front of a newspaper stand, and the deliveryman told the seller the new manga is here, and after loading them the van left and the newspaper seller sighed seeing that a new manga is made just to compete with Komaru Naegi's manga, and wondered if this would sell a lot given how popular Komaru's manga is.
However, within the day the new manga would be sold out which later proved that the new manga became quite a hit to the readers, and aside from Tokyo, nearby places such as Shibuya and Kyoto became selling areas of the new manga, and became sold out and slowly gerated talks within the otaku community.
Later that day, Komaru came home after paying a visit to the manga press company, where she is told that she got a competitor, yet she is unfazed as she has nothing personal against the new manga, and she is fine with it since it shows that the manga she made is popular, and she opted not to make any moves as her editor told her to continue what she is doing.
Komaru smiled as she got her pay before leaving the office.
After that, she went home and is greeted by her elder brother which he asks her how is her day. Komaru smiled as she gave a THUMB'S UP sign.
"A good day, onii-chan. That's how it is."
"Really, Komaru?"
"Yup."
"So why are you in high spirits today?"
"Aside from the pay, I got a competitor."
"Huh?"
"Someone wants to challenge my manga."
"Seriously?"
Komaru said that she got a manga competitor and said she is not fazed by it and she even showed him the new manga, in which the title is "THE CHAOTIC ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN CHAOS", and as Naegi read the front cover, he sweat-dropped seeing that the main character resembled Hifumi Yamada, wearing a white track suit, a 1940's leather cap, black goggles, and a red long cape, and he is depicted as a crime fighter similar to a stereotypical bumbling hero, and he saw the manga creator's name, and wondered if she is related to Yamada and decided to ask him tomorrow about this, while Komaru asks him if there is anything wrong about that manga.
"Onii-chan..."
"Yes, Komaru?"
"You looked bothered. Did you find anything wrong about that manga?"
"Ah, no...it's not."
"Really...?"
"Yeah."
"Sure?"
"Yes, Komaru."
Naegi then told Komaru that it's okay and encouraged her to continue what she is doing but also told her not to abandon her schooling which she nodded, and soon they were called by their mom as dinner is ready and the Naegi family is assembled and they began to bond together while waiting for the Naegi patriarch to come home from work.

The next day, the scene shifts to Hope's Peak Academy where Naegi is inside the classroom waiting for Yamada to arrive, and as Yamada came, other students approached him, and showed the new manga to him and asks if the main character is based on him, and Naegi peered closer to hear what Yamada has to say, wondering if Yamada had a hand in the creation of the new manga.
"Um...you see..."
"So Fujiko is your elder sister?"
"And she made this manga?"
"Did she use you as an inspiration?"
"The character resembled just like you..."
"Is she desperate to get her ranking back on top?"
"Did she make you wear a costume?"
"Tell us, Yamada..."
Yamada confirmed the students' queries, saying that his elder sister "begged him" to become the manga's mascot and used his image in creating Captain Chaos, and while others laughed at him, others said that the new manga sold a lot and told him to have a percentage share in royalty fee since the Captain Chaos character is based on Yamada himself, and Naegi sighed yet he is fine with it as this would distract people who may happen to see him waltzing around with the red suit.
As Yamada took his seat, he saw Naegi and told him about the Captain Chaos manga, saying that his elder sister wanted to SHOW OFF so that she would prove that she is the better manga writer/artist than Komaru, and begged him not to get upset, but Naegi said he is not holding any grudge stating that it was her idea to make something new since the superhero genre is today's theme and a hit among the young readers.
"So don't worry, Yamada-kun."
"Really, Naegi-dono...?"
"Yes, really."
"Then your younger sister isn't upset or anything?"
"No. Nothing like that at all."
"I...see..."
"Relax. There's nothing to worry about, Yamada-kun."
"That's a relief..."
After that, their other classmates arrived and soon classes began to start, and the day went well without problems, and during break time, Yamada is at the cafeteria buying food and Naegi is here to buy food as well, but then some bullies began making fun of Yamada due to his resemblance to the Captain Chaos character, and they were trying to provoke him so that he would be penalized and get sent to detention which is their aim, and they began to mock his elder sister just to rile him up.
"Hey you!"
"Is Fujiko your sister?"
"Maybe she should change her name to FUCKING FUJI!"
"And make a hentai manga!"
"And full of fat people such as you!"
"Yeah, you two are a piggy-wiggy!"
"Oink-oink!"
"Go screw each other in a pig pen!"
Yamada began to glare at the bullies but Naegi held him, telling him to ignore the bullies, but the bullies noticed Naegi and began to poke fun at him, saying that CAPTAIN GONZO and CAPTAIN CHAOS would make a good tag team goof-offs and even provokes him by making harassment comments towards Komaru, and yet Naegi kept his cool and told Yamada to ignore them which Yamada just nodded seeing that they're "has-beens" who cheated their way in getting selected at Hope's Peak Academy.
However, the bullying came to an end when Kiyotaka Ishimaru and the student council came and saw what the bullies did, and they dragged them away towards the detention room, and both Naegi and Yamada sighed as they can relax, and by then some female academy students approached the two boys, saying that they did the right thing in ignoring the bullies while at the same time saying that they are avid fans of Komaru and Fujiko, surprising the two boys.
"Yes, we are fans of your siblings' manga!"
"And we are impressed!"
"We really like to meet them!"
"To show that we support their manga!"
"Do you have their pictures?"
"You have their contact numbers?"
"Please...we really like to meet them..."
"Yeah, we really do..."
The girls then gave their manga copies to Naegi and Yamada, asking them to have the manga authors to put their autographs, which the two boys nodded, and the day went on without problems, and by the end of the day, Naegi and Yamada went to the cafeteria to buy some drinks, where Togami happened to be there as he wanted to buy coffee, and Yamada decided to give him a complimentary copy of the new manga, and when he gave it to Togami, Togami glanced at the cover, only to spit and choke on his drink seeing that the manga character resembled Yamada, and threw the manga back to him, saying that he does not want to see it as he claims that it would bring him BAD LUCK.
Togami left in a hurry while Yamada sighed yet Naegi assured to him that things are okay, and soon the two boys leave the academy and went home, and while walking home, Naegi wondered if this would help in covering the fact that the Captain Gonzo character exists and by then he recalled that Chihiro Fujisaki is doing gigs as the Captain Gonzo character in his part-time jobs, and he wondered Yamada would do the same since he is Fujiko's brother.
"I wonder...would Yamada-kun do the same thing as Fujisaki-san...?"

A few days later, the scene later shifts at the Tokyo prison, where the crook form six months ago is seen in his cell, behaving well as if he is showing signs of improvements just to show that he is filled with remorse, and the prison guards noticed it seeing that the crook may be renouncing his criminal ways though they appeared unsure given his track record from six months ago, and now they are aware that the parole committee is set to interview him within the hour and the two guards wonder if they are going to grant him a parole due to his good behavior.
"Hey...that guy is getting sober..."
"Yeah, I guess he learned his lesson..."
"I doubt it. Maybe he got scared at the fact that he might be sent to the mental hospital..."
"If so, then it's good. At least he's behaving."
"Think he would be given a parole?"
"Who knows?"
"Want a bet?"
"Sure."
To Be Continued... .
Hope you liked this chapter. While there's not much action here, it did show the school life inside Hope's peak Academy, whilst it foreshadow the eventual appearance of this fics' antagonist, and at the same time Yamada gets some spotlight as he would become the focal point in this story arc.
Preview:
The next chapter focuses more on Naegi's school life while the antagonist of this arc is making preparations to bolt out of jail to exact revenge on the SHSL Luckster…
