A/N: And we're back.

Not much to say this go around. Last time on GbNF, we left off with Skarlet betraying Callie and joining Reiko in finding the Kamidogu and mastering the Blood Code before she passed due to the blood loss. Let's see what transpires next in Gone, But Not Forgotten.

Callie and Lao's Home, California 2:30 AM: 1 Hour after Callie Fainted.

Callie's POV:

"Callie. Callie, sweetie. Wake up."

I heard Mom's voice faintly as consciousness slowly returned. My sight was blurry at first but quickly cleared up as I saw many people over me. Mom, Lao, Khameleon, Benji, JJ, Sareena, and Dakini were here.

"Good, you're finally awake. You lost a lot of blood. I wouldn't make any sudden movements," Mom explained as she helped me sit up against the wall.

I glanced to my left and saw the pool of blood that I had passed out in.

"What happened, Cal?" Benji asked me.

"Reiko..."

The name seethed out of my lips in complete disdain.

"He came in while Lao and I were sleeping and convinced Skarlet to turn her back on me. They blasted me with a combined spell that slammed me against the wall. They're probably in Outworld now."

I tried to stand, but the pain was too much to bear as I slid down, writhing in pain.

"God, it hurts so much."

Never before have I felt pain like this since I was paralyzed by Goro twenty-nine years ago.

"I told you not to move, sweetie. Too much movement on your own, and the wound Benjamin and I worked so hard to close will reopen."

"Tanya or Reptile must've tipped Reiko off on where I live. There's no other way he could've figured out where we stayed."

"And now Skarlet's betrayal is another problem we have on our hands."

I looked up at Benji, confused. "What do you mean?"

"Dakini's present self-being born has locked off Dakini's connection to the Great Spirit."

"I can't summon my Tomahawks or the Spirit Bow and Arrows. I tried reaching out to her and Lady Phae, but they haven't responded. is currently in Edenia making new weapons for me."

"This morning, Kuai Liang showed up at the Wu-Shi Academy and requested assistance as he plans on marching to Arcticka to destroy the remaining members of the Cyber Lin Kuei. Raiden denied him assistance, and Kimura and I had to restrain Amaterasu from hitting him."

"You want me to stay here because of my wound, huh?"

"The wound was deep, Callie. The last thing any of us need is for you to do something rash and make your wound worse or do something that can get you killed," JJ brought up.

"The realm is falling apart at the seams. My girlfriend is doing gods know what with Reiko, and you want me to do nothing!?" I raised my voice at them.

Clearly, I'm one stupid interaction away from blowing a gasket.

"It's for your own good, dear. We all have your best interests at heart." Mom answered.

Then the phone rang, causing us all to turn in its direction.

Lao got the phone. "It's Sonya. She wants to speak with you."

We were all left confused.

"Give it here," I said as Mom helped me stand up. I put the phone to my ear, with my patience running dry. "What is it, Sonya?"

"Sergeant, something bad has happened."

"I'm not surprised. What happened?"

"Jacqui and Cassie are missing as of this morning."

"And you waited until 2:30 in the morning to tell me this, Sonya!? Why not tell me before I left for JJ's coronation ceremony?" I yelled, instantly feeling my wound as it ached.

"Sorry, Callie. But it seemed important to you, and you deserved a day to relax."

"My day is getting worse, and the sun isn't even up yet. Did you send anyone after them?"

"I sent Takeda and Jin. Johnny volunteered to go with them."

"Call Kenshi and Cyrax. Tell them to meet us at the Special Forces HQ in an hour."

"Yes, Sergeant," Sonya complied before hanging up.

"Oh, just my fucking luck," I swore before giving the phone back to Lao.

"Who was that, Auntie?"

"Sonya. Apparently, Cassie and Jacqui have been missing as of this morning."

"Who's Cassie and Jacqui?" Benji asked.

"Cassie is Johnny and Sonya's daughter. Jacqui is Jax's daughter. Both are twenty-five and are in Special Forces. They answer directly to Johnny or Kim whenever she's around."

"The day just keeps getting worse. Should we gather Kitty, Sindel, Duffeck, and Okada?" my brother asked.

"It would be wise. See if we can get Xan, Kim, Baiken, and Amaterasu."

Then we heard a knocking at the door.

"Who could that be at this hour?" Benji questioned as he went to answer it.

?'s POV

Man, I hope I'm here on time. I'm knocking on this door so much that my wrists might tighten. I decided to stop before damaging it permanently. As I feel on my wrist, the door opens. I see...

"May I help you?" Uncle Benjamin.

"Sure you can." I went into my duster's inner pocket and pulled out my card. "For you."

He scanned the card, most likely examining my name as his eyes widened before double-taking between my card and me.

I gave a cheeky smile. "May I come in?"

"Yes. After you."

I walked inside the house. Yup, the place is just as luxurious as I remembered it.

"Follow me."

"Of course."

We arrived at an image I wasn't expecting to see this late at night. Everyone turned to me in confusion except for Dakini. No surprise there.

"Excuse me. Who are you?"

"I don't know. Ask Dakini who I am. Since I'm the one who encouraged her to come to this time," I spoke bluntly.

They all looked at her.

"Sorry I didn't show up on time, Daki. I had business in the Chaosrealm to take care of."

"Dakini dear, who is this woman?" Grandma Mai inquired.

"Uhm, this is Mulan. My... cousin."

"COUSIN!?" Everyone yelled at once.

"That's right," I confirmed. "Hua Mulan Sareena Maddox, a pleasure."

"And we're supposed to believe that?" Aunt JJ questioned.

"No, Jade," Uncle Benji said as he showed her my card as her expression mirrored his when I showed him. "She's telling the truth."

"I find it almost comical that you didn't believe me since Dakini basically had the same thing happen to her," I quipped.

"But if you're Dakini's cousin, then that means..." Auntie Sareena put two and two together.

"That's right, Auntie Sareena." I turned to Callie Ann Maddox and Kung Lao, my parents, with a smile. "Hi, Mom. Hi, Dad. It's good to see you both."

"So much is happening at once. Just an hour ago, I was bleeding to death. Now I'm meeting my daughter from the future. What the hell is going on?"

"Here. Mulan, was it? Let me get the lights so we can get a better look at you."

"Sure, Grandma. Do whatever to help absorb this occasion."

The lights switched on as everyone got a chance to see my face. Admittedly, they stared for a little longer than I'd like. "Don't stare too long now."

"You have heterochromia," Mom pointed out.

"Sure do. It's a Mark for my magical abilities. Being the daughter of the Messenger made me different than everyone else. Hence why my eyes are purple and blue-green," I explained.

Everyone absorbed what I revealed.

"Well, Mulan. It's nice to see you and all, but we're about to head to Special Forces HQ."

"I heard. And I'm here to spare you all the trouble of information gathering since we're all on short time here. Reiko and Ms. Skarlet went to Outworld's forest by the Red Beach. They're planning on using the Kamidogu to turn Reiko into a Blood God with the help of a Cleric of Chaos named Havik. Only for Havik to turn on them both and use the energy acquired from the ritual to recreate Shinnok's Amulet and summon him back to the living plane."

"What!? After we just sealed him off! Why would he do that?" Uncle Benji demanded.

"Because he's a native of the Chaosrealm, and he abhors peace and order. However..." I spawned Havik's severed head. "I put a stop to that. Now the ritual to spawn the amulet has been stopped. As far as I know, the only person who can do so is Quan Chi, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't know of Reiko's stupid shenanigans. As for Cassie and Jacqui, they're in Outworld and most likely under Reiko's control as this version of the Blood Code includes mind control if he has one of the Kamidogu."

"What are the Kamidogu?" Auntie Sareena asked.

"Six divine artifacts that keep the realms separated. They are extremely powerful and hidden in the depths of their respective realm, so no one can claim them. Or, in the Netherrealm's case, Duffeck and his personal group of bodyguards protect theirs. Not all of them are needed for the Blood Ritual, but each is for Shinnok's return. Me capping Havik did more good in the long run. They can take the form of daggers. If tainted by the Blood Code and inflict on someone, the victim will lose control of their mind and become a slave to the person who struck them. And Cassie and Jacqui aren't on our levels in terms of kombat. It's safe to assume they are already enslaved."

"Sheesh. Is there anything you have for us, Mulan?"

"I'd get as much help as you can. Even if the ritual's incomplete, Reiko and Ms. Skarlet will be more powerful than the last time you saw them. Killing Reiko will free everyone who was enslaved, thankfully. But boy, will the trust be tainted," I answered.

"Thanks, Mulan. We need to head to HQ asap. Will you join us?"

"Sure, but someone should get Xan Sifu and Kim Jie-Jie."

"I'll retrieve them. They're babysitting Baby Dakini and Ted right now, but this is extremely important."

"Alright, Benji. Everyone else, let's go."

Dakini's POV

Everything was relayed to the Special Forces, Lady Amaterasu, and Kim. Mr. Xan was still in Edenia making my weapons. Lady Amaterasu told us that he volunteered to help Sub-Zero deal with the last of the Cyber Lin Kuei, so he won't be going to Outworld. Kim and Lady Amaterasu will be in his place. Mulan and I will join them once I have my weapons.

"Edenia is as lively as ever," Mulan spoke up.

I go to respond before pausing. "Cousin Mulan, why are you wearing sunglasses?"

"I don't need the Edenian people asking me stupid questions since I'm convinced they have no idea what heterochromia is. And my case of it will bring idiotic questions. I don't like being here."

"You too? Auntie doesn't either."

"Can you blame her? The same people who shunned Mom and Uncle Benji and had our aunts and uncles killed are the same people we walk among."

"But Auntie is the reason why Edenia's back."

"And the fact she still chooses to live in Earthrealm says a lot about how she feels about Edenia's people. They're fickle and hypocritical, especially with how they love Grandma but initially called your father a murderer and turncoat. Do they even know of you or Cousin Ted?"

"They do."

"And how did the Royal Family prevent them from rioting with pitchforks and torches?" Mulan snickered.

I huffed. "They appeased them personally. Along with Mr. Xan and Baiken's personal arm-twisting. The general public is horrified of them."

"Sounds like them. Glad to see they haven't changed from my time."

"They're a welcome part of my life since I never had Mr. Xan, Kim, or Baiken in my time. Maybe things would've gone differently if they were."

"Chin up, Daki. We're almost at Xan Sifu's armory."

I looked up and saw we were at the armory as Mulan said. I knocked on the door.

"Come in." his voice spoke.

Mulan and I walked in and saw Mr. Xan sitting while having a smoke with little Ida sleeping in a small hut next to him.

"Impeccable timing, Dakini. Your weapons are just about done."

He noticed Mulan and pointed at her. "Who is she?"

"Hello, Sifu. I'm Mulan, Callie Ann's daughter." Mulan bowed.

"Ah, you must be from the future. Things must be dire if we're getting more assistance. I take it you'll be going with everyone else to Outworld?"

"Yes, Sifu. Though I'll be here to stay for the foreseeable future."

Mr. Xan stood up which jerked Ida awake before she flocked to his feet as her owner retrieved my new weapons. He took two Tomahawks off a mount before turning to me.

"Here you go, Dakini. Tomahawks melded with Blue Fire crafted in steel and coated with Damascus Metal. A welcome choice for a warrior like yourself. And..." He took a Recurve Bow off another mount. "A Bow for you as well since you can't summon your Spirit Bow anymore, right?"

"Correct."

"I get the feeling there's more to the Great Spirit disconnecting you with the Nightwolf powers than what we know. Maybe we'll look into it after this fiasco with Reiko and Skarlet. I wish I could be there, but I'll be heading back to Earth to help Sub-Zero deal with the remaining Cyber Lin Kuei. Kim and Amaterasu will help in my stead."

"Is Baiken coming with you?"

"No. Despite each of us being human, we're still the Royal Family's Bodyguards. One of us has to stay. Besides, I'm more familiar with Earth now than Baiken since she hasn't been back there often, especially after meeting me."

Mr. Xan gave me my new Bow, an expertly crafted Black Recurve Bow.

"If you need Arrows, you can take as many from the shelf. The Freedom Fighters will deal with the lack thereof if their boss' daughter took them."

He looked at the clock. "It's time for me to go to Earth. I'll see you both later. Be careful."

Mr. Xan grabbed his Katanas and coat before whistling to get Ida's attention. "I'll be back, girl. Watch the shop while I'm gone, okay?"

Ida barked twice in compliance. Walking by us, he roughed my hair up playfully.

"He's chipper," Mulan commented.

"Peacetime, Mileena, and Baiken have calmed him down immensely," I answered before grabbing some arrows. "Let's move. We're lagging behind enough as is."

Outworld: Mai's POV

After conveying with everyone at Special Forces HQ, we sprung into action. Thanks to the information Mulan gave us about Havik tipping off Reiko in order to resurrect Shinnok being shafted for lack of a better term, we don't have to worry about much besides Reiko, Skarlet, possibly Cassandra and Jacquiline. Sonya mentioned she sent Takeda and Jin to Outworld to scout Red Beach.

We split into groups so as not to gain attention from some unsavory Outworlders. Namely Kotal and his court. I can only imagine the madness happening because of Reiko's sudden revolt.

I tried to convince Callie Ann to stay in Earthrealm to let her injuries heal, but she demanded to involve herself since Reiko made it personal. Benjamin went with her, Jade and Sareena are another group. Mulan and Dakini make up the third. Surprisingly, Amaterasu and I compose the final group. Kimura is also scouting the Red Beach ahead of everyone. This allowed me a chance to converse with the Sun Goddess. And from what Callie Ann told me, my eyes too were opened.

"So you had Xan teach the five Kenjutsu styles?"

"I did. Hasso, Jodan, Chudan, Gedan and Waki."

"But you're the leader of the Japanese Pantheon and a master swordsman. How did you earn such marks without those?"

"Self-taught. I learned alongside my younger brother, Susanoo. Even though I didn't learn the five disciplines of Kendo, I was still clean and efficient. Unlike Susa who was wild despite being experienced."

"I continue to be shocked by your humility. I would've never imagined you to be this likable after dealing with your brother."

Amaterasu instantly rolled her eyes at the mention of Raiden. "The nerve of Raijin to deny Sub-Zero assistance after he was the one who insisted on his saving in the Netherrrealm. I'm glad Xan has the fortitude to deal with my constant pestering and requests."

"At the risk of his own safety and peace. I wish we had him here with us. But he'll do better with Sub-Zero. He may even help Sub-Zero with his mental issues."

"One can only hope. We can inquire him when next we see him."

"I am flabbergasted by his stamina. I've never met a man, human, or otherwise who has had more run-ins with death than him."

"My mother may have had some influence on that."

"Why do you say that?"

"She's the Japanese Goddess of Death and decides when a Japanese-born human dies. And she's the only member of my direct family that's alive besides Fujin, whom I'm not fed up with at this point."

"Hmm? Even your father?"

"Yes. When Mother descended into Yomi, Father went after her."

"As any likable husband would do."

"Exactly. He abandoned her when he found her and learned that she was no longer beautiful. And the promise was broken."

"That's horrible."

"Indeed. Somehow, I regained contact with her since Father became a Titan. And I made her the same promise he did. Which is to get her out of there. Whether or not she believes me is of no consequence. Since I plan on fulfilling it."

"As you should. I can only imagine the joy she'll feel when you find her. Considering she gave birth to you as opposed to your brothers."

"Susa was conceived as well and shared the same view on mortal kind as I did. He was assertive but loved the Japanese people as much as I did. If not more so than me. I miss him greatly."

We continued talking while maneuvering through the Outworld forests until we made it out and saw some folk I did not want to.

Kotal, Erron Black, Reptile, and... Tanya.

Amaterasu scoffed at our company. "Funny, I was thinking about our chances of running into you, False God. A gut feeling told me that you'd be more pressed over our presence than Reiko's attempt at ascending to godhood. What horrid excuse are you going to give us so you can try to kill us?"

"Besides that you're all morally bankrupt, sodium-filled, ugly, braindead fools?"

"You trespass in my realm for starters."

"We're not the only visitors you have if you've been wondering, Kotal. After we kill Reiko, we'll be gone. So how about you just spare us the diatribe and help us deal with him?"

"I'm surprised you didn't mention me, Mommy." Tanya mocked me.

I imbued my hand with Illusion Magic and pantomime a closed mouth in her direction. Instantly, her lips disappeared. She felt the newly minted space I gave her with anger and horror.

"Hush, child. The adults are speaking." I dismissed her with minimal difficulty.

"Madeline Maddox-"

"That's Mrs. Maddox to you, Emperor."

"Is your son with Outworld as well?"

"Why the fixation on Benjamin, Kotal?"

"He is the main obstacle between me and my happiness after taking my wife from me."

"Did he, though? Jade was never yours from what she told me during her therapy. You made many unwanted advances and rape attempts toward her. In what world does that equal consent?"

Tanya looked at Kotal in horror. I guess even she didn't know about that. I'll make a mental note of that.

"I admit I was overly aggressive. But Jade is meant to be with me. She will not know true happiness as long as she is with-"

"Choose your next words very carefully. You may be an Emperor, but I can kill you without making a sound. Let's talk more pressing matters. Like your fixation with my boy. You claim Benjamin is an obstacle for you gaining true happiness. But is that really how you view my son? For all I know, you can just be attracted to him. He does have my genes after all."

"Blasphemy! I'm not interested romantically in your son!" Kotal aggressively denied. I laugh at his comedic amount of anger.

"Quick to defend yourself, Kotal. I understand. Denial is the first step in acknowledging one's own homosexuality. But if you are speaking the truth, can you blame me for thinking that way? You've been hounding my son so much, anyone not educated on your aggression would confuse it with closeted attraction."

"Alright, Mrs. Maddox. I think you should-"

Erron Black attempted to grab me, but I grabbed his temple and quickly trapped him in an illusion that forced him to his knees.

"Erron!"

Kotal approached, but I had enough of the jokes.

I quickly pull my Jambiya out and line it with his mercenary's throat. "Another step, and I slit his throat. "I will say this once. We have bigger fish to fry at the moment."

"Mai is right. If Reiko and Skarlet complete the Blood Ritual and become Blood Gods, we'll have a larger problem. We understand there is no love lost here. If we weren't worried about Reiko, this conversation wouldn't take place and you all would be by now. Set aside this petty rivalry to aid us in dealing with Reiko. We'll be out of your hair afterward. But if you insist on having us as an enemy in tandem, Mai can slit Erron's throat and we can fight right now," Amaterasu bargained.

"And you already have enough on your plate with the Black and Red Dragon clans battling here as well as Earthrealm," I added.

Kotal's back was against the wall, his sneer apparent. "Fine. But after Reiko and Skarlet are dealt with, I want every non-Outworlder who came with you two out of Outworld."

"Good. We don't want to be in this disgusting realm for a moment longer."

I stood Erron up and pushed him to Kotal's side, the illusion already dispelled. "Oh, and one more thing. Tanya."

Even without a mouth, I could tell she held a sour expression after saying her name.

"Blood Magic addicts every practitioner that isn't a Vampire or an Osh-Tekk. So I would cease your practice if you value what little sanity you have left."

Her and Kotal's eyes widened. I'm glad Jade came forward to tell me what the two were possibly planning. Not that I care for either, but Tanya dealing with Blood Magic is another dilemma we don't need.

"Come on. We've wasted enough time humiliating you four."

Regrettably, I gave Tanya her mouth back without her saying another word.

Arcticka: Xan's POV

"That was rather easy," I said to Sub-Zero as we examined the immeasurable amount of robotic corpses.

"Indeed. If I knew it would be this easy, I would've never asked Raiden for help. But it's still uncharacteristic of him to deny request for assistance."

"Believe me, Sub-Zero. We're all on the fence about him at this point. Especially since Amaterasu-san has openly mocked and called him out on his wild behavior."

Sektor's head (He was resurrected again) was mounted unceremoniously against the wall.

"Who keeps rebuilding him? And how did they find him? Benjamin and Ermac tossed his robotic form in the Netherrealm lava beds."

"Who knows." Sub-Zero took Sektor's head from off the wall. "But with him out of the way, let's see what information he has."

"Information on what?"

"While I was cyberized, The Lin Kuei, or what's left of it now, served Shao Kahn. They provided him details on where you all were. Then the Sergeant made the strategic plan to hide in that cathedral. Shao Kahn thus deemed the Lin Kuei's use no longer required. Who knows what Sektor could have learned as he was answering to him directly?"

"Fair point. But neither of us are tech savvy. How are we going to extract his memories if he still has them stored?"

"A more than passable inquiry, Edgemaster. But the Lin Kuei has been updated for the Cyber Initiative, so there must be something that could help us. Might as well since ridding Earthrealm of the Cyber Lin Kuei was quicker than either of us anticipated."

Taking another look at the surroundings, I see nothing but robot parts before nodding. "Fair enough, I suppose. You start poking around the interfaces. I'll see if there was anything that was written."

We split off. Walking through the compound, I found nothing of note for the most part. What else would you expect from a bunch of robots?

"Sub-Zero? Anything on your end?"

"I'm making little progress, Edgemaster. What of you?"

"I'm doing worse than you are apparently. But I'll keep looking."

Eventually, I found some... texts. It's in a language I can't decipher and looks like an aggressive take on Korean Hangul.

"Hey, Sub-Zero. I think I found something."

"What is it?"

"This text I found. But it's in a language I can't make out."

"Perhaps it's Edenian."

"It can't be. Living in Edenia for the past two and a half decades, I know the ancient Edenian texts and the alphabet. Unless there are multiple dialects akin to Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese, then this isn't Edenian."

"Perhaps it's a code of some kind. I'm starting to learn the different functions on this system. Over there is a scanner. Place the text downs and perhaps the monitor will give us a translation."

I took the writings and placed them on the scanner for it to decipher the text. As the unknown language showed on the screen, the coding was slowly being translated. And when it finished, we were flabbergasted by the words on the screen.

Emperor Shao Kahn has deemed us no longer useful since his opposition has conveniently decided to hide in a Cathedral. He said we were lucky that he spared us all and refused to pay us, deeming our service to him was a reward on its own. We won't forget this transgression. As such, we have fueled the Red and Black Dragon clans into falsely claiming to give our complete loyalty to the organization that survives. We hope the Black Dragon wins the war as they are easy to manipulate. Plus, the machinations of the Red Dragon's leader Daegon conflicts with mine. He wants the Maddox Family all dead, especially the de facto Patriarch Benjamin Maddox. That would most likely cause a magnitude of chaos across the realms. I've always wanted to cyberize Benjamin Maddox from the moment Father opened my eyes. He won't be cooperative, but if I manage to cyberize him, the Lin Kuei will be unstoppable. If asked for aid, we'll side with the Black Dragon on that front. Benjamin Maddox's mind will be mine, or I will die trying.

"To think the Doctor is alive after all these years."

"You didn't know? Benjamin moved to Edenia after the realm was freed."

"I need to remind myself to visit him. I still am grateful for his teachings when I was still in the Lin Kuei."

"But what's more unnerving is what it says about the Red and Black Dragon War. Sektor's been fueling it for who knows how long. And Daegon's obsession with wanting Benjamin and his family dead is a grave concern in this de facto diary entry."

"I've never seen or heard of Daegon."

"He's an Edenian, so Benjamin tells me. Been here for who knows how long and founded the Red Dragon a few decades ago. Daegon is named after his Dragon Guardian who was red. Anything on Sektor?"

"Unfortunately, I have no such luck as you, Edgemaster. I may need his entire remains if I want to extract what memories he has. But I've more than outstayed my welcome in here."

"Agreed. Let's send this place to hell and get out of here. Grab Sektor's remains while you're at it. The possibility of learning what's inside his demented mentality is worth lugging his corpse around."

"Good idea. You attack the key wires over there while I collect his pieces."

I walked over to the wires and struck them as the lights all went red as a siren blared across the compound. "I have his remains, Edgemaster. Let's get out of here."

We booked it out of the compound. As we got to a safe distance, the entire facility imploded.

"Will you return to Edenia, Edgemaster?"

"I don't see a reason to stay any longer. Kim is in Outworld with everyone, and I doubt they want me to help since they're all hell-bent on having me relax."

"As you should. I have been through it rough, but my suffering pales in comparison to yours."

"Trauma shouldn't be measured, Sub-Zero. We all suffer, as it's part of life. Finding meaning despite it is what makes life worth living. If you gain any kind of progress with Sektor or Scorpion, let me know. Baiken and I would be glad to help."

"Of course. I will keep you informed, though getting messages to Edenia is difficult. I thank you for the aid."

He made a respectful gesture. I bowed in response.

"Of course, Sub-Zero. Best of luck."

I left him with Sektor's remains and ventured out of Arcktica to the nearest portal to The Proving Grounds. It's been ages since I've been there last. When I finally make it to the portal and walk through, I saw a sight that never fails to warm my soul. The Proving Grounds being truly ageless. But it's colder than normal. Something was amiss. I spawned the Blue Fire Jian and walked towards the main meditation center where Edgemaster normally was found.

There, I was greeted by a visitor of unknown origin.

She wore an elegant black dress with silver accents, matching gloves, and heels that mixed well with her snow white hair, silver necklace, and regal demeanor. The hair covered her eyes, but she showed a pleased smile at seeing me.

"Ah, Edgemaster. You have finally arrived."

"Who are you? You must be a deity of some kind since no one knows of the Proving Grounds unless I or Amaterasu told them."

"Ammy never told you about me? Hmph, how very like her to not mention her closest friend outside her pantheon."

The woman walked swayed her way to where I was before extending her hand. "I am Nox. Tsukuyomi's Roman counterpart. It's an honor to finally meet Ammy's first champion."

I returned her handshake. "Xan, and I'm not her champion anymore."

She was stunned by my hand's firmness. "My, you have firm hands. How professional."

"What is it do I owe this vist, Lady Night?"

"Ha, I can see why Ammy appreciates you so. If you're looking for a new patron goddess, I'll happily take you."

"I'm not at the moment."

"Hmm, you're no fun," Nox said as she used the mirror to apply some lipstick. "As I mentioned, I have been looking for you and Ammy by extension for quite some time now. I have information that you should kill for."

"Well, I'll relay it to her if you tell me."

"As you should."

"But I can't relay anything if you don't tell me, Lady Night. What is this information even on?"

Nox finished applying her lipstick before slowly turning in my direction, her expression serious. "Information regarding her mother Lady Izanami's location in the Netherrealm."

Oh, I should pay close attention. "You've got my undivided attention, Lady Night."

"Wonderful. Now, lead me to Edenia as I want your lady friend Baiken to hear this as well. And please. Call me Nox. You and your lovely daughter certainly earned the right."

"Alright, Nox. Follow me."

Benjamin's POV

Seeing as we're strapped for time as is, Cal and I had no reason to take a leisurely stroll through Outworld. The last time we were here, the visit was anything but pleasant. Plus Cal can barely shudder to think what sick thoughts Reiko has been whispering in Skarlet's ears. We all knew that Shao Kahn had a large influence on how Skarlet is desperate for affection since she never really got it from him. So us giving her some isn't something she's used to, despite receiving it for the better part of two and a half decades.

And with how two of her soldiers under his control? I can only imagine the horrors that await them after this is over. We saw sand and we slowed down.

"Alright, Benji we're almost there."

"I think we're the first group to arrive. I don't see Mom, Dakini, or Jade's groups. Should we reveal ourselves?"

"Not yet." Cal answered bluntly before pulling out a pocket radio. "Takeda, Jin? You guys still alive?" She spoke.

"Oh ye of little faith, Sarge." Takeda answer.

"Where's the trust, Cousin?" Jin responded after.

"You know that's not what I meant you two. I like you two a lot more than Cassie and Jacqui right now. Knowing them they probably broke a lot of rules before getting captured."

"I can only imagine. We're ready when you are, Sarge."

"No, I don't want you two going when there's a possibility of you two getting your minds controlled. I want you two on the outskirts keeping a lookout for anyone who wants to intervene."

"What about Kim?"

"Kim is stronger than the both of you. And she doesn't answer to me, she can do whatever she wants."

"Yes Sarge."

"Be careful, Callie." Jin said as they both disconnected from the line.

"Now let's get a more detailed look." I said as I whistled.

"Sir Benjamin. What can I do for you?"

"Lulie, do a quick perimeter around the beach. Try not to get spotted, our enemies are infused and or corrupted by Blood Magic."

"Yes Sir. I will be back shortly." Lulie said as she flew towards the Red Beach.

"Kim? Report in." Cal spoke in the radio again.

"Yes, Ma'am?"

"You in position?"

"Yup."

"And you're sure this will work?"

"If it doesn't, I'll owe you a 6-Pack." Kim responded with confidence.

"Deal. I'm definitely going need one to help ease the pain that Reiko inflicted on me last night. Let us know when you're ready. Benji's with me."

"Got it. Gimme a couple more minutes."

"What is she talking about?"

"Apparently, living and dating a Goddess has more benefits than even we know about. Amaterasu has been helping Kim with her swordplay and helped her better understand the powers she has now that she has Tsukuyomi's soul. And she claims that she can kill Reiko in a single slash."

"Cal, you can't let her do that! What if she can't and she gets corrupted next?"

"We must not be talking about the same person, Benji. I've seen her improvements myself and I was shocked. Me. Being shocked. I have all the faith that Kim's telling the truth."

"Normally your faith is hard to come by. I don't know where to be scared or impress that Kim's already earned yours."

"I've seen her former teammates and her work together and they were definitely holding her back. Hell, two of them are under Reiko's control and you just heard the other two." Cal explained. "She asked me for a transfer and I immediately accepted. Hence why she's the Ambassador. And with who her father is and what he says about her, Kim is worth my trust and faith."

"Then I guess we'll have to wait and see. I still think this is a terrible idea."

"Well it's not your plan so you don't have a say in the matter." Cal dismissed the conversation as Kim started on the pocket radio.

"Alright, I'm ready."

"Best of luck, Kim."

"Sir! It's not looking good!"

"Lulie? What's wrong?"

"General Blade, Johnny Cage, and Raiden are all under Reiko's control as well as Cassandra and Jacquiline."

"What!?" I say and nearly yell but I control my volume. "And you still want to send Kim out, Cal?"

"Kim, fall back. Matters are a lot worse than we could've imagined. Sonya, Johnny, and Raiden are under Reiko's control as well."

"Negative, Sarge. They already noticed me. But I can still pull this off, I just need Reiko to attack me."

"Damn it, Kim we're not going to lose you. Fall back now!"

"*STATIC*"

"Damn it, Cal. You're going to get Kim killed! And if you do, you're going to tell Xan."

"Shit. Only thing we can do is wait for the others."

Kim's POV

"My, my who is this woman?" Reiko said, letting go of Skarlet's hand as everyone's glowing red eyes stared at me, lifelessly. "You don't look like you are from Outworld, otherwise I would have noticed you."

Oh? He finds me attractive? Saves me the trouble of trying to close the distance. Playing along, I pinch the sides of my Kimono and curtsy. Don't worry I don't plan on keeping the charade up for long.

"Hello, you little thief. My name is Sannosuke Kimura. I'm the Edgemaster's daughter." I introduce myself and after doing so, Reiko's expression immediately soured.

"No wonder. You possess the same air of closeted arrogance as him."

"Nothing wrong with a healthy confidence, Lieutenant." I answer. "Which is not what I can say about your confidence. Yours is certainly unearned and more importantly, unimpressive." I add on to my previous statement.

"I am a True God woman. More of a God than Emperor Ko'atal, more of a God than Raiden, and his idiot siblings."

"I wouldn't bad-mouthed Raiden's siblings. Especially since I'm hitched to his older sister. Plus you got your godhood, in a cult like ritual. I was born a demigoddess, and I earned the Lady of the Moon's power. Without a shortcut, although it did take me almost dying, but at least it sounds cooler than you sucking some blood like homoerotic vampire."

"You're insults fail to impress, you homely witch."

"I thought that was pretty creative." I murmured to no one specifically.

"Tch. What do you want with me, spawn of the Edgemaster?"

"I want you to die." I say bluntly and brightly, and all the people Reiko currently controlled hardened their expressions. Reiko laughed maniacally.

"You think battle me, let alone kill me? Surely you must be inebriated, you fool!"

I laughed lightly in return.

"I mean I did have some Rice Wine before I left for Outworld, but no I'm sober. Plus your supposed divinity has got you overcompensating something fierce. I'm a lot more powerful than I look. I've been slaying demons five times your size, when I was still popping zits." I reassured my skill.

"You may be a skilled swordswoman, but you still pale in comparison to the might of a True Blood God! Attacking me will result in your violent death." I open my gourd and take a swig of Sake.

"*Ah* That's good stuff. Edenian Rice Wine has lot more kick than Japan's that's for sure." I say after a drink. "Well I maybe a nobody to you Reiko, but everyone else, corrupted by Blood Magic or not and attest to my skill. I have dedicated my entire life to the sword and if I can't earn the respect of some pompous, self-absorbed, second-rate Kotal Kahn like yourself, then I'll just have to take it." I run him down before steeling my expression. "By brute force if I have to."

I draw the Laundry Pole and position myself in Ko Gasumi No Kamae. I take a deep breath and the words come out with strength and malicious force.

"Ougi." I speak as the air thickened to near solid form. My deadly stare captures Reiko's eyes as we maintained contact. In a near instant, Reiko spat up a fair amount of blood and he startled forward.

"Reiko? What is wrong?" Skarlet asked as Reiko looked back at me, still in the position I was in. He then ran towards me, completely hysterical.

"No. No. No, no, no, no. You will not stop me!" Reiko yelled as he continued closing the distance.

I motion for a downward slash before I summon two afterimages of myself that motion for a slash to my left and right. And as Reiko attempted to defend himself the thickened I caused with my Killing Intent caused him to freeze in place as he took three vicious slashes at once, hitting his humeri and slashing his heart in two. An upgrade from my Godfather's technique, adding some of Tsu-sama's illusion magic to it.

"Tsubame Mai." I speak as the illusions and I strike Reiko twice more in opposing directions. Reiko fell forwards in my direction but I moved out of the way so he didn't land on top of me.

"Ah shit." I swear to myself. "That was three strikes. I definitely owe Sarge that six-pack now." I say slightly annoyed. I take my Laundry Pole and jam it inside his cranium, killing him. "I'll make sure to get you your beer before I head back to Japan, Sarge."

Callie's POV

"Holy shit!" I said out loud after witnessing Kim practically chop Reiko into confetti. "Let's go, Benji. No reason to keep Kim by her lonesome."

I ran to meet up with Kim but while doing so, I was tackled to the ground.

"Tanya, you stupid Pharoah wannabe! Get the hell off of me!"

"I don't think so. You've been a thorn in my side for far too long, and it's time you disappeared," Tanya said as she prepped a fireball.

Before she could even prep to fire, Benji grabbed Tanya by the hair and lifted her off me.

"Tanya, I'd appreciate it if you got your harlot mitts off my sister."

He tossed her violently to the ground. "Cal, you go make sure the others are free."

Getting up from the sand, I ran in the direction of those who Reiko had under his control.

"Cassie? You okay?" I asked Sonya and Johnny's daughter.

"Y-yes, Sergeant." She responded in kind.

"Good," I answered before decking her against the cheek.

I pointed at Jacqui, instilling the fear of God in her. "Briggs! Bring you and your dumbass bestie back to HQ and wait! NOW, SPECIALIST BRIGGS!"

"Yes, Ma'am!"

Jacqui picked up Cassie's unconscious form.

"I'll make sure they get back," Sonya said.

"No need." I took out my pocket radio. "Jin, Takeda. Cassie and Jacqui are fine. For now, anyway. Make sure they get back to HQ."

"Yes, Ma'am."

"We'll see you back at base, Cousin."

"Damn it. I'm sorry, Callie. I let my guard down for a moment and Reiko had Johnny and me under his control," Sonya apologized.

"Don't worry about it, Sonya. I asked you two to come down, not knowing that was an admittedly terrible idea. As far as I know, you two did nothing wrong."

"Sergeant Maddox!" Kotal Kahn barked in my direction.

"What? And watch what you say because if it is something I don't want to hear, I'll shoot you," I answer as I notice Mom and Amaterasu.

"Don't worry, dear. We convinced him to aid us," Mom assured as everyone who came finally gathered, save for Mulan. "Though from the look of things, Kimura already dealt with Reiko."

Kotal's motley crew was on the opposing side, and the tension between us quickly returned. We completely forgot about Skarlet who in a mix of emotions attacked Kim! She saw at the last moment and defended against her. Kim viciously kicked her in the abdomen causing her to spill on the sand.

"Skarlet, what the hell?" Kim justifiably inquired.

"You ruined everything, Kimura! Reiko was helping me affirm my love for Callie Ann."

"You were going to get us all killed. Sarge, tell her!"

"Can't right now. Someone in Kotal's court is going to do something dumb, and I want to punish them personally. But Kim's right, Red. But we'll have to deal with you later. Mom?"

"Hold still," Mom commanded Red.

Powerless, Skarlet complied with the illusion.

Mulan then appeared. "I'm back. What'd I miss?"

"Did Jin and Takeda escort Cassie and Jacqui back?"

"Safe and sound. They look like their worst nightmares gained sentient life."

"Trust me, it has for them," I answered bluntly. "Now we have them to deal with."

"I'm surprised you haven't reached out to us for an alliance yet, Kotal. I knew you were stubborn, but now you just look like an idiot," Mulan pointed out.

"Who are you to judge my decisions? And they haven't adhered to my side of the deal. Give me my lover, and I'll happily join the coalition." Kotal said as he stared his blue pools in JJ's direction, which caused her to harden her grip on her staff.

"You're willing to risk making an enemy of Earthrealm, Edenia, both sects of the Brotherhood of Shadow, with having Outworld as the epicenter of the Red and Black Dragon War? Because you aren't getting any pussy? If you want an Edenian, you got one in your court! And unlike Aunt JJ, Tanya's easy! All you gotta do to lay with her is say hello!"

Mom and Amaterasu covered their mouths. Benji's eyes widened. Dakini and I? Choking down laughter. I haven't known her long, but I'm growing fond of my kid. Huh. Never thought I'd be saying that.

"Aunt JJ?" Tanya repeated before hollering. "That's precious. The Sarge had a brat as well. So what's your name, kid? Callie Jr.?"

"No, Cleopatra," Mulan smoothly responded. "My name's Mulan, named after the first Chinese Heroine, Hua Mulan."

Mulan took her glasses off to reveal her heterochromia before spawning a Han Jian. "If I'm allowed to be frank, Kotal. I'm surprised you're still alive. I thought Shang Tsung would've killed you by now. Or Tanya to act like normal and betray since she doesn't know a damn thing about loyalty."

"They understand my power, woman. They would never."

"Would they? From what I see, I can think of many reasons why most of your court would stab you in the back, front, or side. Whether to come one step closer to the Kahn's throne, more money, or hell. Getting dicked down by my uncle."

"Please don't involve me in your metaphors, Mulan," Benji immediately responded.

"Sorry, Uncle."

"Why are we even being diplomatic?" Amaterasu inquired surprisingly. "We know from Ms. Mulan's analysis that Kotal is thinking with his phallus, not his brain. So he won't adhere. Let's just kill them all."

"No, sister! That wouldn't please the Elder Gods!" Raiden immediately countered.

Amaterasu took a deep breath in an attempt to ignore him. Raiden should know by now that only he adheres to the Elder Gods with that level of reverence.

Things then got even crazier. Slowly, a dark red aura began surrounding Tanya as violently coughed up blood.

"Tanya?" Kotal inquired.

Everyone looked to see Skarlet broken out of Mom's illusion, causing all sorts of pain to Tanya. That's when it all hit us.

Skarlet also underwent the ritual... And it worked.

"Tanya," Skarlet seethed quietly. "If you were to die, surely she will forgive me. I'm sorry, but you must die."

Her tone was of something that came from a Netherrealm denizen.

"Sister! Stop her!" JJ shook me back into reality.

"Erron!"

"Sorry, honey." Erron cocked his Revolver.

"No! Not you!"

I pulled out my Pocket Pistol, and Mulan her Revolver. All three of us shot simultaneously. I aimed for Erron's arm and hit it, but that caused Mulan's bullet aiming for his head to miss. Erron's bullet... No.

It hit Skarlet square in the heart. She fell, but I caught her before she hit the ground.

Tears poured from my eyes. "No. No, no, no, no, no. Not like this Red. Please not like this."

"Kotal. We need to go now, or Tanya won't survive." Reptile spoke.

Kotal growled at missing the chance to kill us all. "This isn't over, Benjamin!"

He and his court disappeared.

"Skar? Please, say something!" I pleaded with grief.

Skarlet placed her palm weakly in mine. "I am so sorry, beloved. I just wanted you to love me like Kung Lao."

"I did, Red. I always did. I love you so much."

Skarlet smiled weakly as her palm moved to my cheek. "I love you too. Please forgive me, my love."

"I-" I started.

Her hand slumped, those familiar eyes closing one final time.

Skarlet, my other love besides Kung Lao... had died.

"I forgive you Skarlet. I'll always forgive you."

I openly wept into my now dead girlfriend's cold body.

A/N: Whoo boy. That was quite the chapter.

We met some new characters, Mulan Maddox, Amaterasu's best friend in Nox (albeit not gaining nearly as big a spotlight as Callie's Future Daughter), and set up some important plot points in the Arc. Amaterasu's mother, Shinnok, his Sect of the Brotherhood of Shadow, and the Black and Red Dragon War. We also saw the Kombat Kids. Some are in a good light. The others, not so much. I wanted this chapter to be longer, but I procrastinated enough, so it's best I just complete the writing. Or else who knows how much longer this would've taken.

Hope you enjoyed the Bonus Chapter since this will be the final one. After the Final Chapter of each Arc from this point, save the Arc Dialogues, the next Arc will begin. Arc V is finally upon us. Let the Gates open.
