A/N: When I said the previous chapter was supposed to be longer, I meant it. But like I said I waited too long to update it so I settled with a couple of scenes being left out. So, to complete the last chapter I'm putting the last few scenes in mind here. Enjoy.
Maddox Cottage, Edenia: A few hours later
Xan's POV
"Oh, my. Edenia is a lively realm, isn't it? I only heard about her from Ammy and Tsuku. It would seem their words did the place some justice," Nox spoke.
I continued to guide her to the cottage where Baiken, Ida, and I live. "The environment, absolutely. The people? Not so much."
"Truly? Ammy said they were very welcoming to them both."
"They're both deities and both are nice to look at. So the people thought they were Edenian like them. But trust me, Nox. They are fickle people."
"Noted," she accepted. "How much farther until we arrive? I would like to get out of my heels."
"You could have chosen to wear more comfortable shoes, Nox."
"True. But I would look rather tacky. The night is an elegant time of the passing days, so I must represent it as such. Even if it can be uncomfortable at times."
She then eyed my wardrobe. "A shame you refuse to be my champion, Edgemaster. You already dress for the occasion with your black and blue."
"My apologies, Nox. But I will take another deity if I'm on death's door. Even then it would be a tough sell. Being alive for nearly 500 years unnaturally will do that to you.
We arrived. "Here we are. And I think I see Baiken and Amaterasu. As well as Kim."
"Wonderful, it's about time I greet my gracious hosts," Nox spoke as she approached the group.
Amaterasu unsurprisingly recognized her first. "Nox? Is that you?"
"Hello, Ammy. It's been far too long, love."
Nox gave her supposed best friend a hug and a peck on the cheek. "My condolences about Tsuku. Shinnok cannot keep getting away with this madness. Even if by proxy."
"Amy, who is this?" Kim asked.
"Right. Kimmy, Baiken, this is Nox. She is Tsu's Roman counterpart. How did you meet Xan, Nox?"
"I ran into him while he was traversing the Proving Grounds." She then pouted. "And you never told him of our friendship? Shame on you, Ammy."
"How about we all head inside? Nox has important regarding Lady Izanami," I mentioned.
That caught Amaterasu and Kim's attention. "Truly, Nox?"
"Of course. Why would I lie about my pseudo-mommy and birth mother of my bestie? But yes, let's head inside. All this walking in my heels is murder on my feet, and it would be nice to have a seat on something relatively soft."
"Well yeah! Let's get inside!" Kim spoke as everyone save Baiken and Ida went inside.
I followed, but Baiken clutched my arm. "You took your sweet time, Ryu."
"Sumimasen, Baiken. I would have been back sooner, but Nox's surprise meeting added some time to the mix."
"I guess. But, y'know what today is?"
I thought about the date and gasped before kissing Baiken's cheek deeply. "Happy two-year anniversary, Baiken."
Baiken blushed uncharacteristically at my sudden display of affection before huffing. "Nice save. I got plans for us. Hopefully Nox won't take too long."
"You? Making plans? Is the sky turning red or something?"
Baiken playfully punched my arm. "Very fucking funny, Ryu. But I'm serious. Just somethin' to think about."
We walked inside.
"Wonderful, we're all here." Nox said, her shoe off while sitting on one of the chairs. "Now I can begin sharing what I have learned."
"So, Nox? What do you know of Lady Death's location in Yomi?" Kim asked.
"My sister Dies was talking with Hou Yi about how the Netherrealm was overrun with zombies due to Shinnok trying to gain a stronger foothold over Duffeck and Okada."
"Shinnok has waged war with Duffeck?"
"Possibly. We have nothing, plus some say that it was Duffeck who started the war."
"Wait a sec, hold up," Baiken spoke up. "Who's Hou Yi?"
"My Chinese counterpart," Amaterasu simply answered. "Dies is Nox's sister and one of my Roman Counterparts alongside Sol."
"Different pantheons know one another this well?" Kim asked in response.
"Oh yes, Kimura," Nox answered. "Most Pantheon Deities know one another, regardless of region or origin. Deities have their own realm much like Mortals and Elder Deities and Titans do. But Ammy can attest that the Realm of Gods is incredibly mundane and boring."
"Yes, I'm surprised Raijin doesn't like it with how much of a suck-up he is."
"He hasn't changed, I see. With how much you can't stand him since he left Japan, I'm surprised you still acknowledge him as a Japanese Deity. let alone your younger brother."
"It's a familial obligation. Until I find Mother, he and Fujin are all I have left in terms of blood family. Though Kimmy, Xan, Baiken, Ida, and Ieyasu have done a wonderful job of filling the void that Tsuki, Susa, and Mother left. But I digress. Continue, Nox."
"Of course. Shinnok and Duffeck have been using their respective armies to, for lack of a better phrase, tear the Netherrealm asunder. The fighting has gotten so bad, that different circles of Hell have been opening for the first time in millennia. Rumor has it that a Japanese woman dressed in a Red Kimono has been spotted in the Fifth Circle of Hell."
"That has to be mother!"
"That's my thought, though we have no proof that she is stable, let alone still sane after all those millennia down there. Co-founder of the Japanese Pantheon of Deities or not."
"Mother is a tough woman and is the Japanese Personification of Death, Nox. If anyone can survive the Circle of Wrath, it's her. If I were a gambling deity, I would wager she most likely runs the circle. We have to go down there and retrieve her!"
"I can only imagine where this is going," I said sarcastically.
"Shio-san, Baiken-san. Kimmy. Please, I beg of you. All of you." Amaterasu positioned herself in Zarei. "Please help me bring my mother back to the realm of the living! She's the only blood family left that is still being tormented unjustly because of Father's narcissistic antics! I beg of you, please!"
I glanced at Baiken, her expression steeled. Kim nodded in my direction.
"Okay, Amaterasu. We will help bring Lady Death back to the mortal plane. If the information that Lady Day and Lord Sun supplied Nox is true."
Amaterasu stood and nearly tackled me with a hug. "Thank you, Dad! Thank you very much!"
She separated from me after I returned her hug. "Nox, please double check with Dies and Hou Yi and certify the information. Once you do, we will begin planning."
"Of course. Expect me to join you in this rescue mission, as I too miss Lady Death. I will reconvene with you in the next few days after double-checking with them as well as with Duffeck. Until then, Ammy. It was truly wonderful seeing you all again. And it was wonderful to meet you all."
Nox put her heels back on.
"Come, Nox. Kimmy and I will escort you back to Earth."
"We'll talk later, Dad."
"I'll see you all later."
"Take it easy, Kim," Baiken said goodbye before turning to me with a devious smirk as they left Ida and us alone.
"*bark* *bark*" (I'm heading to bed. Goodnight Otou-san, Okaa-san.) Ida said as she circled and laid down in her bed.
"Finally, we're alone," Baiken said.
"So it seems. So, Aibou. (Partner) What plans do you have for us in celebration of our two-year anniversary as life partners?"
"Lemme show you. Close your eyes, Ryu."
I did as she requested and closed my eyes.
"Good, now hold still. I'll be right back."
I heard her footsteps across the floor. "Alright, open 'em up."
Complying, I see a large gourd in her hand, which I assume is Sake. I couldn't help but laugh at what I could assume would be her suggestion.
"I mean, drinking with you is always a pleasure, Baiken. But what makes that special enough for anniversary plans?"
"This ain't regular Sake, Ryu. This shit is straight from the Royal Family's Distillery near Ben's family clan sector. Mai convinced them to open up a Brewery, so I requested them to give me the strongest Rice Wine their largest gourd could carry. And they just sent me this monstrosity this morning while you were makin' weapons for the kiddo."
"Oh, shit. Kim always talks about how strong Edenian Sake is. She says the first time she drank some was the first time she got inebriated since becoming Lady Moon's champion."
"My thoughts exactly. You and I are going to drink until we're so damn blasted, we can't even think straight. Then-"
"Then?"
"Then," she repeated. "We're going to go to our bedroom and fuck each other silly."
My eyes couldn't grow any bigger. "You want to invite sexual intimacy into the relationship? I thought you were fine with a sexless partnership?"
She averted my gaze momentarily. "At first, I did. But everythin' changed when you called me 'kanojo' in front of the Edenian court and everyone else. I know it was a slip of the tongue, but that mistake was enough for me to think. I didn't mention it since there was more important shit goin' on at the time. But then when ya left to help Sub-Zero back on Earth, you left for long enough where I got a little uncomfortable. I knew that nothin' was going to happen to you, but the thought still crept on me."
"I can only imagine how that must've felt to you. I didn't think of it that way. I'm sorry, Baiken."
"Tch. Don't apologize, Ryu. As I said, I knew nothin' was wrong. But shit, can you blame me for gettin' attached to you? You're the first Japanese man I've met who doesn't go out of his way to piss me off or annoy me. I didn't expect to pitch something like this to anyone, let alone someone I enjoy bein' around. Plus, I am somewhat jealous seein' what Ben has with his two wives."
"I understand. Because I feel the same way. Since raising Kim, I've never met another kinswoman who brings me so much joy just from being in their vicinity."
"Yeah, but what about... her?"
I already knew who she was referring to. "I still love Xianghua, and I'll never forget her."
"As you shouldn't."
"But if you want to escalate from a relationship based on camaraderie to one based on camaraderie and intimacy, I think our relationship will be more memorable than mine with Xianghua."
"Are you serious, Ryu?"
"I am, Baiken. But *ahem* what if in our drunken stupor, you get… pregnant?"
She blushed a shade of red I didn't think a sober woman was possible of achieving. "We'll cross that bridge when we get there if we do. For now..."
She motioned for me to uncork the gourd as I released the strong smell of Rice Wine in the cottage's air. "Let's drink."
"Sure, but first."
I gave Baiken our first mouth kiss since we became life partners. She was shocked at first but hungrily returned it. "Happy Anniversary, kanojo."
She smirked before kissing me again. "Happy Anniversary, kare. (boyfriend)."
Her big gulp of the Edenian Rice Wine was the first of many that night.
Callie's POV
I'll cry and grieve later. But before that, I have to release the pent-up anger due to the consistent incompetence of two Special Forces soldiers. Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs. They've been a pain in my group's ass. Cassie, thanks to Sonya being the General, has openly disrespected her superiors and they won't do anything for fear of retaliation from Sonya. Jacqui, while more disciplined and respectful, is nothing more than an enabler. She's fortunate Jax works directly with me directly. Otherwise, I'd be angrier at her too.
This was before I got the after-mission report from Sonya.
Before I was called, those two lummoxes got kidnapped by the Black Dragon, participated in their version of a death match, and went to a 21-and-over-club without permission from their superiors. This all took place before getting kidnapped by Kano and sent to Outworld in an attempt to involve the Special Forces in the Red and Black Dragon War. Thankfully, Kano left one of his lackeys to watch them and was killed by Kabal who recently joined my group after Cyrax left to help Sub-Zero rebuild the Lin Kuei. Kenshi, Jax, Kabal, and I wished him the best. We sent Frost to join Sub-Zero once she recovered from Cassie's attacks, and I personally promised her that I'd humiliate Cass on hers, my, and Skarlet's behalf. Then you know the rest from there.
Finally, Cassie has been disrespectful to Kim to the point of blatant racism. After bloodying her nose and crushing several ribs, Kim requested a transfer. I didn't hesitate to grant her request, hence why she's the Ambassador of Special Forces.
I finally made it to Special Forces HQ and everyone cleared the area upon seeing my march to the interrogation halls. This whole thing has been a shitshow. If those two weren't in Outworld disobeying orders and being controlled by that dimwit Reiko maybe... Skarlet would still be alive.
No time to grieve, I'l do that later.
Jin was already at the entryway. "Cousin, I thought you were never going to show."
"Are they in the interrogation halls?"
"Yup, Takeda and I locked them up in there tight. Gonna kill them?"
"Spare me the sarcasm. I'm not in a good mood and haven't been since waking up after thinking I was going to bleed to death."
"Sorry. The both of them look scared out of their minds."
"As they should be. Cassie has been getting away with murder because of Sonya's leadership role. At this point, I'm looking for any excuse to put her in her place."
"Besides Kim giving her a bloody nose?"
"While that was cathartic, yes."
"Takeda requested that you let Jacqui off light."
"If he wants me to spare his girlfriend, whom Kenshi practically begged Sonya to allow, he needs to request that himself."
"That's what I told him. Listen, Sarge-"
"Jin, you can call me Cassie. We are family, after all. Thanks to Lao's and I's marriage."
"Sorry, Callie. Force of habit. You gotta relax. I understand the punishment they receive is deserving, but you might go too far if you don't calm down."
"I know, Jin. Hence why I came up with one beforehand. Go get some rest. You've earned it."
"Alright, Callie. I'll see you later. They're in room two."
"Thanks."
I approached the interrogation halls and found room two before taking a deep breath. I opened the door and saw the banes of my existence. Each froze in horror. You could hear a pin drop as my expression became one of wrath. I sat down across from them.
"Sergeant Maddox-"
"Shut the hell up Cage! You talk too much!" I snapped as she whimpered.
"Now that you've finally put yourself in a powerless situation, you will not say one fucking word while your superior officer speaks. You have openly disrespected your superiors. Whether it's Kenshi, Jax, your own father, or even Kim. Just because you're Sonya's daughter, no one has retaliated. Save for Kim who kicked your ass. That was less than you deserved. But you thought this fucking charade could go on? You do know I'm above your mother right? And I can fire her if I wanted to and you by proxy?"
I slammed both fists against the table.
"And you have the audacity to disobey MY ORDERS WHEN YOU WENT TO A 21 AND OVER CLUB! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? Then you two challenged dumbasses were kidnapped by KANO and taken hostage by Reiko! We had to split up the groups my brother and I came up with to ensure you two weren't killed. Doing so almost killed Kim, but we couldn't save Skarlet from Kotal Kahn. If it weren't for Mulan killing Havik, Shinnok would've returned to the living plane! Because you two don't FUCKING LISTEN!"
Cassie and Jacqui were on the verge of tears as the realization set in.
"The punishment has already been decided. You two will run 50 laps a day around HQ for a month, have Janitor Duty for three weeks, and lose your independence when it comes to missions. Johnny and Sonya are the only superior officers who can assign you missions now. This is my final warning. You disobey orders from me ever again... You two, Sonya, Jax, and ALL OF YOUR OFFSPRING will never be allowed to enlist in Special Forces. In all my years serving the Special Forces, I've never seen two soldiers more entitled than you both. You two disappoint me to no end, and I would've given out dishonorable discharges if it weren't for your parents. So make sure you thank them that this is all you're getting. Am I clear?"
The both of them nodded frantically.
"Good. Cassie, you're dismissed. Jacqui, a moment longer."
The Cage brat scattered out of the room. I placed a hand over my face before breathing out deeply. I could hear Jacqui shift uncomfortably in her seat. Finally, I gathered my wits before eyeing Jax and Vera's daughter.
"Simple question. Why do you blatantly let Cassie talk you into following her?"
Her head bent down, knowing she was in deep shit. "I... I know I shouldn't have."
"Glad you got it through that thick skull of yours. I'll be upfront with you, Jacqui. You have more potential than your bestie, so don't let her drag you somewhere you don't want to be. Your mother and father already went through a lot before they had you."
"Yes, ma'am," she meekly answered.
I sighed. "Here's the deal. Show some backbone and develop into a better soldier these next two weeks. Then I'll consider lightening your punishment. You can thank Takeda for wanting me to go easier on you. But you will not speak of this to anyone, including Cassie. Understood?"
Jacqui nodded. "Yes, Sergeant."
"Good. You're dismissed."
Without missing a beat, Jacqui left out. Not as soon as she left, someone else entered and sat across from me.
"Oh, it's you, Kim."
"Sheesh, Callie. What did you tell those two? They were in tears when they ran out of the room."
"Don't worry about it."
"Alright. Anyways, here." Kim revealed a six pack of beer. "I lost the bet. So here's your six-pack."
I took a can out and opened it. Kim did the same.
"How are you feelin'?"
"Somewhat better. While those two took partial blame for Red's death, we weren't fast enough to save her. But still, thanks for killing Reiko for me."
"Of course. It's the least I could do since you made me Ambassador. Even with my busy ass schedule with Mrs. Maddox."
"Don't worry about it, Kim. Mom loves working with you."
Kim also made a few changes to her appearance. First, she cut her hair down to her upper back after normally wearing it in a low ponytail with the same white cloth. She typically wore a kimono with a sleeve off her left arm to allow a faster swing and show her impressive physique. Sometimes she doesn't wear anything but a holster and underwear on her legs and a two-pronged geta. On other days, she wears leggings and black boots similar to what Mom has. Still, Kim showed her amazing talent in multiple avenues looking rather good.
Kim took another sip of beer. "The feeling's mutual. Well, I'm going to head home. Shoot the shit with you later, Boss."
She then left the room. I slouched in my chair before chugging my beer.
"This is a good beer," I said to myself.
I don't want to go back to my house yet, knowing the moment Lao holds me, I'll be ugly crying for days on end. Hmmm... I wonder what Mulan is doing.
Manhattan, 45th Street, USA: 2:00 PM
Mulan's POV
"And that's everything, Aniki," I finished retelling what happened in Outworld to Koga-aniki and Chizuru-nee.
"Man, this whole thing is turning out to be quite the shitshow. First, we go dark on the Red Dragon, then I learn Kotal's teaching Tanya Blood Magic. Now Skarlet's dead, which was preventable due to Callie's incompetent soldiers. I can only imagine how steamed she is," Aniki responded as we all ate our ramen.
As I ate, I had a look of deep thought that Chizuru-nee picked up on. "Mulan, is there something wrong?"
"I don't know, Chizuru-nee. This whole thing reeks of intervention."
"What do you mean?"
"Havik didn't tip Reiko off on the Kamidogu Daggers or the Blood Ritual. He said that Reiko knew of the Rituals were a mere coincidence and that he was going to summon Shinnok's Amulet once the ritual was finished. Someone else had to of told Reiko about the Rituals, and Reiko might've come to the conclusion that Skarlet would help if properly manipulated."
"Who do you think tipped Reiko off on that information?" Aniki asked.
"I don't know. But it's something I'll look into these coming days."
"Well, don't hesitate to ask if you need anything."
"We'll always be willing to help you, Mulan," they reassured me.
"Thank you both."
"So, what was it like meeting your family for, what? The thirtieth time?"
"It's always good to see them, Aniki. Them being alive and well does me some good since the only survivors in my time were Uncle Benji, Mom, and Auntie Sareena. And we defeated Onaga in my time. I can only imagine how Dakini felt. Poor girl was devastated that Aunt JJ was murdered."
"We can only imagine. Did they welcome you openly?" Chizuru-nee asked.
"Not at first. I had to show Uncle Benji my card before he accepted me as his niece. But you know, knock one domino down for the rest follow suit."
"Good to hear. Maybe finding out who tipped Reiko will get you some brownie points with your mom."
"I hope so. But still that whole situation just screams fishy to me."
I slurped down some noodles. Aniki's phone started to ring as he picked it up. "Hello? Vice. Hopefully this is good news."
He name-dropped Ms. Vice so we knew who he was talking to.
His face then shifted to shock. "What? He's at war with who? How long has this been going on?. Shit, alright. Chizu and I will see you soon. Be safe."
Aniki then hung up.
"What did Vice find out?" Chizuru-nee asked.
"Duffeck officially declared war on Shinnok and his sect of the Brotherhood of Shadow. Vice just came back from the Netherrealm with the information. Plus, Duffeck got information on Daegon's facial appearance. She'll show us when we get back to the Agency."
"Let's go now. This information must be told to Benjamin and the others as soon as possible."
I got up. "Let me come with you."
"No, Mulan. Enjoy your food. You had a long day you need to relax and decompress. Come, Chizu."
"Of course. Be safe, Mulan," Chizuru-nee said before pecking my cheek while Koga-aniki roughed my hair.
I continued to eat in silence until a familiar voice sounded. "Is this seat taken?"
Glancing to my right left me in shock. "Mom? What are you doing here?"
"I just finished verbally ripping Cassie and Jacqui a new one and was wondering what you were up to," she answered before next to me. "I'll have what she's having."
"Are you ok? I can't even begin to imagine how you must be feeling."
"How do you think, kiddo? I'm saddened obviously, but I'm going to save the grieving until after I go back to your father. You sound surprise by my showing up here."
"I-I it's not that I don't want you here, Mom. You just never showed any interest in things like this."
"Going out to eat with my kid?"
"Yeah, things of that nature, y'know? You were a 'show affection behind closed doors' type of parent. If anything, it was Dad who did this stuff with me. Not to say you didn't show affection."
Mom chuckled. "That sounds like me. Affection is still relatively new to me. But becoming an Aunt and gaining two step-sisters really put things into perspective. I always said that I'd never get married or have kids. Lo and behold, I'm a loving wife and apparently have a daughter. Albeit from the future, but still. I still think about when Dakini told me I was infertile in her time and that I took out that anger on JJ. To think." (Another reason why they were butting heads)
"Well, you were infertile in many timelines. But that's mostly because you weren't the Messenger then."
"What do you mean?"
"Messengers were hidden fertility champions. They were always fertile regardless of race or species. The magic that comes with being a Messenger will Guarantee fertile eggs, it's just a matter if, during sex, the Messenger wants to be impregnated. If not, she doesn't."
"It's that simple?"
"Yeah, it's shockingly easy to get pregnant as a Messenger."
"Then how come no recorded Messenger never had children?"
"They were killed before they had the chance. Whether it be by Argus and Orion, or because they were demons and were slain. But I'm proof that Messengers can have children. Only thing is that the offspring is gifted with rare and powerful schools of Magic."
Mom's food came out and she started eating immediately after blowing on it. "So, Mulan."
"Yes, Mom?"
"How come did we decide on Mulan as your name?"
"Oh, hehe. That's a funny story."
"Really?"
"Yup. When you were pregnant with me, you and Dad struggled to come up with a name for a girl since Dad was convinced I was a boy. Though Kim said I was a girl since she's blessed by a fertility goddess."
"I can see that. Lao is very stubborn."
"Wanna guess what he wanted to name me?" I said cheekily.
I let Mom think about it as I drank some more. "No. He wanted to name you after him didn't he?"
I laughed hard at the answer that I almost snorted. "Yeah! You almost hit him when he came up with the suggestion, but he had a good reason why. There are no women in the Lao Family. Every member of blood is a boy. Since he was named after his famous ancestor, he wanted to keep the tradition alive."
"So how come you're a girl?"
"Because the child of a Messenger is always going to be a girl regardless of who the father is."
"Always?"
"Always. Uncle Benji suggested something that would represent what I am. I'm a child of firsts. The first recorded child of a Messenger who's a Half Chinese, Half Edenian hybrid. The first girl in the Kung Family. You suggested Mulan, the first Chinese Heroine. Everyone agreed, so the name was set. But if I came out as a boy, then my name would be Kung Lao."
"No, it wouldn't. I'll fight your father if he suggests that ever," Mom instantly retorted. "I also noticed your Revolver. What kind is that? I haven't seen it before."
I pulled out my Revolver and placed it on the table for Mom to analyze. "It's a Ruger Blackhawk Revolver 45 Long Barrel. I put it together myself. I originally used a Bow for Long Ranged Kombat but switched in honor of my badass soldier mom. No biggie."
She scoffed. "No biggie my ass. This is well made and looks like it's been taken good care of. I'm impressed. But what would I expect from my own kid?"
Mom handed it back to me. "And you fight with weapons?"
"Yup, normally a Han Jian or Qigong Spear. In the legends, Hua Mulan used a Han Jian and a Spear in tandem with a Bow, so I followed suit. Mulan's my favorite Chinese Opera Film, so I take a lot of inspiration from that as well as the historical figure."
"I see you also have been inspired by what I wear. Mom would lose her mind when she sees you."
"Trust me, Grandma doesn't like that I take after you in terms of the clothes I wear. But she lets me off easy since I wear formal clothing for the most part. She says she rips you asunder every time she sees you in casual wear."
"Oh, she does. Especially when she lived with me. But she stopped after my wedding since she A.) made my dress. B.) I wore it. And C.) She said she has never seen anyone look more heavenly than me walking down the aisle than anyone else, herself included. From then on, she let me wear whatever I wanted. Either because she was satisfied, or keeps the comments to herself. I don't know."
Mom paused. "I know this is the first conversation we've had in my point of view. But, if this is one of the things I get to look forward to, then I might convince your father to breed me."
"Please don't say it like that, Mom."
Mom laughed heartily as she ate her noodles. "Sorry. I'm just enjoying myself more than I thought I would, thinking this was going to be super awkward."
"I would never think that way. The Maddox Charm rubs off on all of us, thanks to Grandma. If anyone falls behind, it's not our fault."
"Well said. Did Koga pay for your food?"
"Uh, huh. I've been wanting to do this with him for a few days now."
"Alright. I'm going home to go cry into your father's arms. Don't hesitate to visit if you need anything from me."
"Okay. Thanks, Mom."
Then she did something I never expected. Mom gave me a deep hug and a soft kiss on the forehead. I couldn't move out of my seat, I was so shocked.
"I'll see you later kiddo."
She left back for her house. I don't think I moved for another ten minutes before finally saying something.
"Whoa... So this is what Dakini meant after meeting Aunt JJ the first time."
A/N: And that really concludes the Bonus Chapters.
Nothing too long like I mentioned, just the scenes I didn't include in the actual chapter. If you're wondering, yes, these scenes are canon to the story. It's a reprieve from how the last chapter ended. Let me know what you guys think of the bonus scenes with a PM or a Review. I'll see you later.
Bye!
