A/N: Let's get a few things out of the way before we can begin.
1. If you don't know by the summary, Part 6 does not exist in this universe, the only original character from Stone Ocean present in this story is Jolyne. So Dio never had a diary and whatnot.
2. I know that there are many returning characters from part 3, especially part 4, but this story isn't really about them. You'll see in future chapters that this story will really be about my own original characters and their own Stands, (I've made 20+ original Stands for this fanfiction).
3. This will be updated every Friday with no exceptions. Doesn't matter if it's a holiday or not. So expect a new chapter every Friday without any breaks until the story is finished. (As I said before, I've worked ahead and have already written the first 24 chapters). If I don't post on a Friday, then assume I'm dead. Or my internet's down. You choose.
4. Lastly, there is a bit of cursing in this fanfiction, but there will be no slurs or f words. Enough rambling, enjoy and feel free to comment, I will respond to all the comments I can, so feel free to ask questions.

Episode 19: Dream Evil
Van Fleet rose in the sky once more. After its crash, it had slowly healed over time. Greta stepped inside her Stand. She had not found Khan's body but didn't have time for a thorough check. She assumed he was probably crushed and broken apart by the flames and the impact. Greta was kind of glad she hadn't seen it, but then again, it gave her no closure. She couldn't worry about that now, it had been about five hours. Van Fleet's slow recovery time had restricted her movement, but it made up for it in speed. At its top speed, Van Fleet could make it back to the mansion in just about an hour. Greta didn't hesitate. They're probably at the mansion by now. She thought as Van Fleet began to move through the sky, I have no doubt that they'll be killed, but there is always a small chance that they will succeed. Just like what happened in 1989, there is always a chance that they'll succeed. There's always a chance.
...
Kenna could hear gunshots in the distance, "They're in trouble," She murmured to herself.
"Who's in trouble?" Hozier asked from inside Redbone, "Is something bad happening? Has the bad man found us?"
"Don't worry," Kenna said, "Nothing bad is happening. Just wait patiently in there and my friends and I will beat up the bad man."
"Okay," Hozier said, "Did you say that the bad man's name is Dio earlier? When I was in Italy earlier, my dad took me to a really big building. He said it was called a church, I think. He said that a church is where people go to worship god. And in Italian, god means Dio. But I don't think people would like to worship this Dio, he's a very bad man."
"Yes, he is," Kenna said, "I wouldn't worship him either."
"I liked that church, it was pretty. After you find my parents, can you tell them to take me to church?"
"Don't worry, Hozier. I'll convince your parents to take you to church."
"Yay!"
...
Abstract broke her metal rod in half against her knee, creating two. She threw it, aiming directly for Dio's heart. Ruby Tuesday turned some of the blood droplets forming around Tenmei into blood needles and shot them at Dio as well, aiming for his head, particularly his eyes. Dio just stood there, waiting until the rod and needles almost touched him, and then suddenly they were gone.
"What the?" Abstract asked. She looked down, the metal rod was whole again, in her hands.
"What is this?" Tenmei asked. The needles were droplets once more, floating around Ruby Tuesday.
"That wasn't a time stop, was it?" Joanne asked.
"It couldn't have been," Tenmei said, "He used my own ability of blood control to turn the needles back into droplets. Plus he fixed that metal rod that Abstract is holding. This is outside his realm. He shouldn't be able to do this!"
"Giving up already, Kakyoin?" Dio said.
"You bastard!" Tenmei yelled, "Do you have two abilities? No, that's impossible, no one can have two Stands. Did you somehow change your Stand? I've never seen it done, but it should be possible. Is that it? You no longer have The World! You have a different Stand!"
"How wrong you are, Kakyoin," Dio said, "I have The World." A yellow and gray figure appeared behind Dio, it had scuba tanks on its back. Although Tenmei had never seen Dio's Stand, Jotaro had explained to him how it looked. This was unmistakably it.
"There's another Stand user!" Tenmei yelled as he looked at Joanne, "Dio can stop time, there's no question about it. Maybe there's another Stand that can revert objects. Maybe Dio put the rod and needles back in our possessions and someone else reverted them to how they were before!"
"Is all that possible in five seconds?" Joanne asked, "Besides why would he do that? He didn't hesitate to kill Hol Horse and Polnareff, so why is he going through all of this just for us?"
"I don't know," Tenmei said, "This doesn't make sense! None of this makes sense! What are you up to, Dio!" he yelled as he pointed at his enemy who had not moved an inch from his spot at the end of the hall.
"Come closer and find out," Dio said, "Or just run down the stairs and admit defeat. I'll accept any option."
"There's no way in hell I'm retreating!" Joanne yelled.
"Yeah!" Abstract added, "We're going to beat the shit out of you!"
Joanne turned to Tenmei, his face was contorting in confusion. Clearly, he was trying to think things through.
"Why would Dio give us the option to retreat?" he asked, "Since when was he planning on letting us live? This doesn't make sense! None of this makes sense!"
"I say we charge him," Joanne said, "Just like he wants, we go straight to him. If he wanted to kill us, he would have done so already. I don't think there's a big risk in this."
"You're right," Tenmei, "Let's go!"
The two ran towards Dio, their Stands following close behind. Dio stood completely still, smiling as they got nearer and nearer. After they were less than three meters away from him, they suddenly found themselves back at the beginning of the hallway, next to the corpses of Hol Horse and Polnareff.
"What?!" Joanne asked, "What was that? We were so close to him, what happened?"
"He must've stopped time and moved us back," Tenmei said, "Polnareff told me a story of when Dio did a similar thing when he was going up the stairs. Dio stopped time and moved Polnareff down the stairs. Maybe he did something similar to us as well."
"But Polnareff was just one guy," Joanne said, "There are two of us. Do you think he was able to pick us both up and move us back?"
"I'm not sure," Tenmei said, "Dio's a vampire, remember that. He might have enough strength to pick us both up. No, might is an understatement, he definitely has enough strength to pick us up. There's no doubt about it."
"Then how the hell do we defeat him if he can stop time?" Joanne asked, "Damn I wish Jotaro was here! This would be much easier if there wasn't some other Stand user hiding around here."
"Maybe if we take care of the other enemy first, we might have a better chance against Dio," Tenmei said, "Have you seen anyone besides Dio, Joanne?"
"No," Joanne said, "But this hallway has plenty of closed doors, you think they could be hiding in one of the rooms?"
"It's possible," Tenmei said, "But we should wait on Kenna's opinion."
Joanne had almost forgotten about Kenna, "She should be here by now, don't you think?"
"I'm sure she'll arrive soon," Tenmei said, "For now, we have to try and stall Dio as much as possible."
...
Kenna rushed up the stairs, Redbone following closely behind. She was worried about the gunshots. She was worried that Polnareff and Hol Horse might have gotten hurt. She was worried that Tenmei had followed the sounds of the gunshots and gotten hurt as well. But she was mostly worried for Joanne. She couldn't even bear to think of what bad things could've happened to Joanne. This was what motivated her further. She noticed that part of the stair's railing was missing, specifically a metal rod that dug into the stair.
"Did Abstract do this?" She asked herself.
"Who's Abstract?" Hozier asked.
"She's just a friend," Kenna said, "Don't worry about it." Kenna eyed the railing for a second. "Okay Hozier," she finally said, "I'm going to put in a couple of things with you. They're very sharp and dangerous so please don't touch them. If you get hurt, I can't take you to your parents and they can't take you to church."
"Okay," Hozier said, "I won't touch anything, I promise."
Redbone grabbed the railing and ripped it out with all its might. It then detached several of the metal rods and put them in its chest, the points facing away from Hozier.
"I'm going to use this to beat up the bad man, Dio," Kenna said, "So I'm going to need those in a second. I just need to find my friends and we're all going to beat him up."
Hozier nodded slowly, although Kenna couldn't tell. Kenna and Redbone continued up the stairs. With a couple of meters left, Kenna noticed something. The stairs were wet. She looked down and saw blood dripping down the stairs. She almost screamed in surprise but held it back.
Someone got hurt! She thought This is a lot of blood. This is too much blood, and it's pooling down the stairs. Someone died! Maybe even several people! Kenna could hear her breathing get raggedy. What if Hol Horse or Polnareff got killed? What if Tenmei got killed?... What if Joanne got killed?!
Kenna nearly yelled again at this thought. She was too scared to call anyone's name and not get a response. But right as she began to panic, she heard a voice from the third-floor hallway.
"She should be here by now, don't you think?" It was Joanne's voice.
Tenmei's voice soon followed, "I'm sure she'll arrive soon. For now, we have to try and stall Dio as much as possible."
Kenna rushed up the stairs to see Tenmei and Joanne. She was so relieved. But her relief soon vanished when she saw where all the blood was coming from. It was coming from Hol Horse's and Polnareff's bodies. She did not hold back her scream this time. Tenmei and Joanne, who hadn't even noticed she was behind them, turned around to see her.
"Hol Horse… Polnareff… They're dead!" Kenna was almost crying.
"Kenna!" Joanne said as she walked towards her, giving her a hug, "I'm so sorry," she said, "Tenmei and I didn't get here in time." Joanne held the back of Kenna's head with her hand and gently brushed her fingers through her hair, "But now's not the time to cry or grieve, we can do that after we've killed Dio."
Kenna looked down the hall and saw the vampire. Staring at her, smiling. Almost as if he was an adult, watching little toddlers play.
"You're right," Kenna said, "Dio needs to pay first."
"Fletcher," Dio said, "Kenna Fletcher. How much you've disappointed me. I have had my followers betray me before. Noriaki Kakyoin and Jean Pierre Polnareff are some examples. Look where that got them. As you might've heard from Tenmei Kakyoin, Noriaki got a hole blasted through his stomach by yours truly. And look at what happened to poor little Polnareff. So I give you this choice. Help me kill these two and all will be forgiven. What do you say, Fletcher?"
Kenna got out of Joanne's embrace and took a few steps toward Dio, "This is the first time I've seen you so clearly. In the three years that I've lived in this mansion, serving under your rule, your orders, this is the first time I get to clearly see you. You act as if I owe you something. As if it was you who saved me from my miserable life. But it wasn't. It was Greta. She was the only one who ever cared about me. But now she's dead."
Dio's eyes widened at this last sentence, a look of grief almost dawned on his face, but this facial expression turned back to normal in less than a second.
"You never cared for me," Kenna continued, "No one in this mansion did. So why should I accept your offer? An offer created out of desperation. If you're as confident as you elude yourself to be, then you don't need me. Yet you still made the offer. That's why I believe that if I stay with Tenmei and Joanne, we'll all be able to take you down. To save this world of your curse. To let everyone who's died finally rest. To let those still alive dream of peace, not of evil. That is all you are. Evil. And when the whole world dreams evil, that is when we surrender ourselves to your will. But there are people who dream of peace every day. It's those people that'll put a stop to you. It's people like Polnareff or Hol Horse. People like Joanne or Tenmei. People like me who will stop at nothing. That is why I reject your offer. Because I believe in peace. I believe that together we can stop you."
"Together you will die," Dio said, "I only made the offer to make it easier to get that kid back." Dio pointed at Redbone's chest, "But I can still cut you open and retrieve him nonetheless. It'll just be messier this way. And the words you speak of dreams are nonsense. No one dreams of 'peace' or 'evil'. Such things do not exist. Evil does not exist and neither does peace. The sooner you realize that, the sooner you view the world as you should."
"Kid?" Tenmei asked as he looked at Redbone, "Did you bring the kid with you?"
"I didn't have any choice," Kenna said, "Dio is clearly after him. I think he has a Stand ability. A mirror of some sort. Dio is really interested in this ability. I couldn't just leave him alone."
"Stand ability?" Joanne asked, "Just how old is this kid anyway?"
"His name's Hozier," Kenna said, "He's seven years old."
Tenmei turned to Dio, "What do you want with a child, Dio? What is his ability?"
"Enough of this," Dio said, moving for the first time in the battle. He stepped towards the three, "Greta is dead, you say? What a shame. I really liked her. I've had it. After I have your Stands, you're all dead!"
Dio seemed angry, he had been calm this entire time, but now anger seemed to seep through him.
"Ruby Tuesday!" Without hesitation, the Stand threw its blood spear at Dio. The spear went all the way through Dio's stomach, making him stumble back and cough up blood.
"Wh-what?" He said, almost surprised, "I can't let my emotions cloud my actions. I can't-"
"Die, you asshole!" Abstract yelled as she threw the metal rod. The spiked end entered Dio's throat and went all the way through. Dio's eyes widened in pain. He coughed up an enormous amount of blood and fell to the floor.
"Is he dead?" Joanne asked, "Did we get him?"
"No," Tenmei said, "He's a vampire. Only two things can kill vampires. Sunlight, or the complete destruction of their brain. Or so we thought. Twenty years ago, Jotaro seemingly killed Dio by destroying his entire head and half his body. My theory is that his brain somehow survived, and he got a new body. Is it true, Dio? Is that how you're alive?"
Dio's face was filled with panic, he gasped for air, but his throat was destroyed. For less than half a second, Kenna, Joanne, and Tenmei thought they saw something. It looked like an angel, but it appeared and disappeared so fast that they didn't even react to it.
"I'll admit," Dio said, "You almost had me there."
"What?!" Joanne yelled. She looked at Abstract, she was still holding the metal rod. Ruby Tuesday launched its spear at Dio, who was uninjured and walking towards them.
"What is this?" Joanne yelled, "This already happened!"
Dio ducked under the spear and kept walking.
"Die you asshole!" Abstract yelled as she threw the metal rod. Dio grabbed the rod before it hit his throat as if he already knew it was going to land there.
Joanne turned to Tenmei, "This just happened!"
"I-I know…" Tenmei said, confusion in his voice, "We had him. We had Dio. What happened?"
"I don't know," Kenna said, "I saw it too. It's as if time was reversed."
Tenmei checked his watch, "No," he said, "Even if we went back just a few seconds, this doesn't make any sense… Time is running normally. My watch vibrates with the tick of every second. I've been keeping track of seconds to count the cooldown of Dio's The World. But if we went back in time a few seconds without realizing it, my counting should not be aligned with the watch. But it is. This doesn't make any sense!"
"You are all fools," Dio said, "This is where you will all die."
Everyone in the hallway suddenly felt some weird form of deja vu. Joanne blinked and she felt as if she had just woken up from a dream. She tried to remember what had just happened. She remembered talking to Dio, and Kenna gave her speech, but that was about it, what else had happened?
"Kenna, I'm scared!" Hozier yelled from inside Redbone.
"It's okay, Hozier," Kenna said in a soothing voice, "Everything's going to be alright, I need you to calm down."
"I feel something!" Hozier said, "I feel another presence!"
"Another presence?" Kenna gasped, "Your Stand?! Is this the same presence you felt when that mirror showed up?"
"It was, I think," Hozier said.
"Don't let go of that feeling," Kenna said as she retrieved the rods from Redbone's chest, "You're going to need to amplify them!" Kenna handed the rods to Abstract, who held one in each hand.
"Thanks," she said, "I've been needing some more of these!"
Tenmei looked at Redbone, "You brought the kid with you?" He felt something wrong about asking this question, almost as if he had already asked it.
"I didn't have a choice," Kenna said, "He has a Stand. He could see my Redbone." Kenna was also perplexed by Tenmei's question, but couldn't figure out why. This had been the first time Tenmei had asked her this, right?
"A Stand?" Joanne asked, "How old is this kid?"
"He's seven," Kenna said "But I think Dio is interested in his Stand. The kid's name is Hozier, and he told me that his Stand is a mirror, but I'm not sure what its abilities are."
"Keep the kid safe," Tenmei said, "I trust Redbone is the best place to keep him."
Kenna nodded, "I won't let anything harm him."
Dio moved for what felt like the first time in the battle. He had been standing at the very end of the hall the entire time, but now he began to walk towards them, "So Greta's dead, isn't she? That's a shame." His voice sounded angry. For the first time, Dio didn't talk in a soothing voice, similar to one of a parent talking down to a child.
Without hesitation, Ruby Tuesday threw the blood spear with tremendous force. Dio didn't even have time to react before the spear went all the way through his stomach. Dio's eyes widened with surprise.
"That severed his spine," Tenmei said, "Even if he stops time, he has nowhere to run."
"Then allow me to finish the job!" Abstract yelled as she threw a metal rod. The rod pierced and broke through Dio's throat. Dio coughed up a tremendous amount of blood as he gripped his throat, desperately huffing for air.
For less than half a second, something appeared behind Dio. Kenna, Joanne, and Tenmei all saw it but didn't fully register it. All they remembered was that it had grand angel-like wings that spread throughout the room. But it was present for such an incredibly short amount of time, that they all thought that they had imagined it.
"I gotta say, you almost got me there." Dio was at the end of the hall as if he hadn't walked closer to the others, with no visible wounds on him.
"What?!" Abstract yelled, "I got him! I saw that metal rod go all the way through his throat! What happened?!"
"A-Abstract," Kenna said in fear, "The rod… You're still holding it…"
"Huh?" Abstract looked at her hand, "How'd I get this back?"
"My spear's returned too," Tenmei said, "I don't understand!"
Something dawned on Joanne, "These events have repeated before, we stabbed Dio before as well, remember? This is twice this has happened. Just what is going on? I swear events in time are repeating themselves."
It dawned on Kenna and Tenmei as well. This had all happened before. The exact thing had happened. Joanne and Tenmei had already stabbed through Dio in the exact same spots before. Dio had already somehow bent the events that were happening backward. Everything had somehow happened twice. But it seemed like everyone had forgotten about this and had repeated the exact same movements. Why were the memories of the past just now sinking back in?
"Let the confusion sink in," Dio said as he began walking again, "You have no power against me. I control space and time. Anything and everything is at my mercy. If you believe in nonsense such as 'peace' or 'evil', then allow me to explain something to you. There is no peace for you or your lineage," Dio looked at Joanne, "There is no peace for you or your uncle," Dio looked at Tenmei, "And there is no peace for those who betray me," Dio looked at Kenna, "The whole world dreams evil, you said? That is not true. Not the whole world. You. Only you. You three will die right now and dream evil forever."
These words sent a pit in Joanne's stomach, nothing seemed to harm Dio, it was as if the winged figure she had seen around Dio for less than half a second was his angel, preventing his death. He's the only person who doesn't deserve an angel! She thought. She soon found that she couldn't move. She tried to move her arms, but they wouldn't budge. What is this? Another Stand attack? No… I'm scared! I can't move! Looking into this bastard's eyes sends so many chills down my spine it's indescribable!
Joanne managed to look at Kenna and Tenmei, their expressions said it all, they were scared beyond belief. Dio couldn't die. It was impossible. He had an angel guarding him. No matter what they did, how many attacks they threw at him, he would be fine. There was nothing in this situation to dissect. None of it made sense. There was no strategy to come up with because none of them knew what was going on or what would happen next. Dio could not only stop time but seemingly erase events from happening. Or at least erase people's memories of these events happening. They all just stood there, at their wit's end, staring into the eyes of the god of evil, the vampire protected by an angel's curse. His footsteps plunged their spirits deeper into fear every time they echoed through the hall. Joanne felt her hands shaking aggressively, Tenmei's sweat dripped to the floor, and Kenna's harsh breaths punctuated Dio's approaching footsteps. They would all die. It was just as June and Ally had said. There was no use fighting Dio, he would kill them all.
"Kenna!" Hozier's voice cut the echoes, "Kenna the bad man is coming! Dio! Dio is coming! I can feel him! Do something! Help me, Kenna!"
"I-," Kenna remained speechless, unable to move as she refused to take her eyes off of the god of evil.
"Get me out of here Kenna!" Hozier began to cry, "Get me out of Redbone! Get me away from Dio! Get me out of this building!"
Redbone's chest opened up, Kenna had subconsciously opened it without realizing. It was almost as if Hozier's pleas forced her to open Redbone. Hozier jumped off and ran towards Kenna, gripping her pant leg, "Kenna! Please get me away from here!" Tears began to fall from his eyes as Dio continued approaching, now halfway down the hall.
"Please get me back to my parents! I want you to take me to my parents! I want you to take me to church! Take me to church!" Something began to slowly form beside Hozier, rising from the ground. "Kenna take me to church! Take me to church, Kenna… Take me to Church!"
It fully materialized. It was a mirror about ten centimeters thick. It was two meters tall and one meter wide. A golden trim was around it. Both sides of the mirrors were reflective. One side reflecting the stunned Kenna and crying Hozier, and the other reflecting Dio, who kept walking. Joanne and Tenmei were on either side of the mirror, confused as to what had happened. The mirror was floating a few centimeters above the ground.
"He is still coming!" Hozier was the only one who could talk in this situation, "Dio is still coming, Kenna! Take me to Church!" With a splitting noise, muffling out the sounds of Dio's footsteps, the mirror cracked, but only one side of it. The side facing Dio. The crack reflected the wall and ceiling of the mansion before cracking over the reflection of half of Dio's face. Another cracking noise could be heard, but it wasn't the mirror. The wall and ceiling of the mansion cracked open and fell out of the mansion to reveal darkness. The sun had already set, and a full moon illuminated the hallway. Some debris fell beside Dio, who seemed a bit off. He was grasping part of his head. Then, like a rubber suit, his skin slowly peeled off to reveal someone else entirely.
Kenna recognized what this rubber was. She was sure Joanne and Tenmei recognized it as well. "E-Elastic… Band?" she said in disbelief.
"You're not Dio!" Joanne yelled, "You're someone else!" She couldn't believe what she was seeing, just who had they been fighting this entire time? How did this person have Elastic Band? And why were they pretending to be Dio? How had this person been able to perfectly re-create The World? Had Elastic Band also recreated that? How had this person been able to seemingly bend the flow of space and time? Everything that Joanne, Tenmei, and Kenna thought they knew about the situation seemed to be thrown out the window. Who in the world was this person?
"Dio?" The new person finally said as their blood dripped onto the floor, "No, it seems my disguise is gone. There's no use hiding my identity anymore. I am not Dio, I never was. Dio died twenty years ago. He was my father."
...
A/N: That's chapter 19! This one was quite eventful, huh? First things I should mention are the two musical references. The first is the title of this chapter, Dream Evil, which is the name of one of DIO's Studio Albums, just like last week's Sacred Heart. The second musical reference is Hozier's Stand, which is named Take me to Church, obviously named after the real-life Hozier's song of the same name. Anyways, I hope this chapter wasn't too confusing. If you're still not sure what happened when "Dio" got stabbed, I guess I can further explain it here. Basically, when he was stabbed in the stomach and throat by Joanne and Tenmei, those events got reversed, and everyone's memories of it were erased. That's why Joanne and Tenmei were able to stab "Dio" in the same way, because fate is a constant and can't be changed. It was only after the reversed events synced back up with time that everyone's memories seemed to flood back. This is different from another ability that kept reverting Joanne and Tenmei's back. Both of these will get explained next chapter along with who this person who was pretending to be Dio really is. Next chapter is going to be a good one, so be sure to tune in next week for Episode 20: Holy Diver!
