A/N: Let's get a few things out of the way before we can begin.

1. If you don't know by the summary, Part 6 does not exist in this universe, the only original character from Stone Ocean present in this story is Jolyne. So Dio never had a diary and whatnot.

2. I know that there are many returning characters from part 3, especially part 4, but this story isn't really about them. You'll see in future chapters that this story will really be about my own original characters and their own Stands, (I've made 20+ original Stands for this fanfiction).

3. This will be updated every Friday with no exceptions. Doesn't matter if it's a holiday or not. So expect a new chapter every Friday without any breaks until the story is finished. If I don't post on a Friday, then assume I'm dead. Or my internet's down. You choose.

4. Lastly, there is a bit of cursing in this fanfiction, but there will be no slurs or f words. Enough rambling, enjoy and feel free to comment, I will respond to all the comments I can, so feel free to ask questions.

Episode 26: Heatseeker Part 2

Danielle Miller was a student prodigy; she graduated high school at 16 and went to college that same year. Her parents had high expectations for her, and slowly after three years, she began to crumble under pressure. Instead of studying for her exam, Miller spent her time worrying about what would happen if she failed. Her parents would be disappointed in her and everything she worked for would have been for nothing. She grew so stressed and untrusting of herself that she resorted to cheating on her exam. She passed the exam with flying colors, but was found out the next week and expelled from the school. Unable to bear her own guilt, she ran away at the age of 20 without returning home to her parents. One day, at the age of 21, Miller was found by someone she would never forget.

"My name is Greta. Fate has not been kind to you, has it? It is my job to keep tabs on those left in the dirt by the cruel hands of fate."

"What?" Miller asked, "Who are you?"

"I told you my name," Greta said, "If you come with me, I can give you an ability and a job that can change your life for the better." Greta stretched her arm out to Miller. Miller looked at Greta's hand. She wasn't sure why, but she felt compelled to take Greta's hand and come with her.

...

Right as Miller pulled the trigger, Vertigo appeared, and Ally darted to the left, in the opposite direction of Miller. Miller didn't react in time and was put under Vertigo's spell as she instinctively shot the gun again. The bullet hit the wall of an adjacent building, and Miller fell to the floor, dropping the gun. Cliff immediately got up to run away, but Vertigo punched him in the face, sending him face-first to the floor.

"You're facing away from me," Ally said, "Now you'll be put under Vertigo's spell." Cliff was soon asleep. Without hesitation, Ally ran to June who was bleeding on the ground and clutching her bullet wound.

"June!"

"Ally…" June muttered, barely moving her head to look up at Ally. She could feel her blood pooling all over her, "Elastic… Band…" The Stand appeared and wrapped around June's stomach, and tightened to stop the bleeding. "That should do it for now," June said, "But I'm probably going to die soon if we don't reach Kenna fast, she'll heal me."

"I need to kill Cliff and Miller first," Ally said, "I've put them under my spell several times while training for the assault on Morioh. They should be able to break the spell soon, I've gotta execute them now."

"No," June said, "We've won the fight. They've been defeated. Don't kill them"

"It's either us or them, June. I choose us."

"I said no!" Part of Elastic band sprouted from around June's stomach and grabbed Ally's arm. "It would be a different story if they were actively attacking us like before. I don't have a problem with killing an enemy that's attacking. But killing them when they've already been knocked out and defeated, that's not right. I refuse to let you kill a defenseless enemy."

"June I'm sorry, this is our only choice. Vertigo."

"Ally, what are you…?" Before June could finish her sentence, Vertigo had already put her to sleep. Elastic Band disappeared, releasing Ally's hand, but opening up the bullet wound.

"Shit," Ally murmured, "I'll wake you back up in just a second. But I've got to do this first." She grabbed and cocked the gun that Miller had dropped before walking toward the two unconscious Stand users.

...

"They're here," Greta said, "Cliff and Miller are ready to get picked up."

"You didn't tell them I'd be here, right?" Dianne asked as she wrapped herself with Elastic Band and took on the form of Dio.

"No," Greta said, "All that they know is that they are to suspend their current mission for a more important one and that I'll be the one to transport them."

"Good," Dianne said, "It's time they learned the truth about me."

Van Fleet landed and Greta greeted Cliff and Miller as they entered the airship.

"How was your trip to Italy?" Greta asked, giving the two a glass of wine each and sitting down on one of the cushiony seats of the airship, "I've always wanted to take a vacation here."

"Didn't get to see much scenery," Cliff said sitting down, "We were investigating a gang organization. We think the Stand disturbances are coming from this organization. But we didn't have enough time to investigate who their leader is."

"That's fine, Cliff," Greta said, "As I stated on the phone, your mission has been suspended for now."

"Speaking of which," Miller asked, "Why wasn't Khan Miran the one to call us?"

"A lot has happened in the week you two have been away," Greta said, "Khan's been injured, so I'm taking his job for now. All communications will go through me."

"Khan's injured?" Cliff asked, "Just what the hell happened, where is he now?"

"Khan's in bed." a voice said.

Cliff and Miller turned to where they heard this voice. Dianne, disguised as Dio, walked into the room.

"Lord Dio!" Cliff and Miller nearly spat out their wine as they quickly got off their seats and took a knee, bowing their heads.

"Forgive us for not kneeling sooner, lord Dio," Cliff said, "We didn't know you were here."

"Rise," Dianne said, "There's no need for that anymore. And there's no need for those either." With a wave of Dianne's hand, the flesh buds in Bill and Miller's foreheads fell to the floor and died.

"I don't understand, lord Dio," Miller said, "What's going on."

Elastic Band peeled off of Dio and disappeared, revealing Dianne's true appearance, "I haven't been truthful to you," she said, "Dio was my father. I was using Eaden's Stand to take his appearance. As Greta said, a lot has happened this past week."

"L-lord Dio?" Cliff said, "I don't understand."

"There's a lot to explain," Dianne held out her hand to the two, "You two are no longer obligated to follow my command. You can name any place, and Greta will drop you off there. Or you could stay and work with me, not for me. If you choose to leave, then you will probably live happy lives. If you choose to stay, then the chances of you dying are high. But if you stay and help me, then I will give you 115 million yen."

"A hundred fifteen!" Miller yelled.

"Each," Dianne added, "This could be enough to get your lives back. Miller, with that money, you could apply to college again. You could get your education back. You're such a smart girl, you deserve this. Cliff, with that money, you can pick up on your career. I used to watch you on tv, you're a natural at boxing. You deserve this second chance." Dianne stopped to look at their faces, "Of course, I'm not forcing you to stay, but I am understaffed, so I would appreciate your help."

Cliff and Miller could feel tears well up in their eyes, "A second chance," Cliff murmured, "That's all I've ever wanted. I regret what I've done! I've regretted underestimating that rookie every sing;e day of my life!"

"Me too!" Miller said, "I regret what I've done too! I was stressed, I didn't believe in myself! I thought I had to go beyond everyone's expectations! I was scared! I cheated because I was scared of disappointing everyone! I've wanted a second chance too! Lord Dio! No, what is your real name?"

"Dianne Donovan," Dianne said, "And I take it you two will accept the offer?"

Cliff and Miller slowly approached Dianne before hugging her, tears rolling down their eyes.

"All we ever wanted was a second chance. We just want our lives back."

...

"So this is your happiest memory," Ally said, "I had Vertigo make your illusions be your happiest memory. That way you two can go out happily." Ally could feel her body shake as she held the gun at Miller's smiling, unconscious body, "Damn you two are making this too hard for me. But I know what needs to be done. I'm sorry." Ally could feel tears well up in her eyes as she pulled the trigger, and the first bullet entered Miller's head.

Ally fell to the floor and nearly threw up from the sight, but she had a job to complete and she knew it was too late to back down now, "I'm so sorry! If there is an afterlife, I hope you two get your second chance there. I hope from the bottom of my heart." She got back up, aimed the gun at Cliff's head, and shot.

...

"We've successfully cleared the first floor," Binns said, "And the officers keeping an eye on the statues haven't reported any sightings."

"Dianne and Greta don't want us to find them yet," Tenmei said, "But where could they be?"

"They're on the second floor," Joanne said, "I'm almost certain of it."

"How do you know?" Kenna asked.

"Dianne has Joestar blood in her. I can almost feel her presence. It's weird to describe, but I can tell if members of the Joestar family are nearby. I can feel Josuke's statue. It's like a psychic link."

"The Joestar blood is strong," Tenmei said, "Jotaro has told me about it as well. It is normal for someone of Joestar blood to feel the presence of another. Joanne, do you know where Dianne is exactly?"

"That's the thing," Joanne said, "I don't know. The feeling gets too fuzzy if I try to focus on it. Maybe if we get a bit closer, I might be able to find Dianne."

"Binns, we're going to the second floor," Tenmei said, "There's a high chance that Dianne and Khan Miran will transport themselves down here if we spot them. You have permission to shoot and kill them if you find them." Tenmei leaned closer to Binns, "And try using your Stand, we might not get another shot at this."

Binns scoffed. "I won't need it," he said, "My men are highly trained and ready. We'll take care of them if they transport to this floor."

Tenmei sighed, "Just be careful Binns." he looked at Joanne and Kenna, "We're going."

Joanne nodded as she followed Kenna and Tenmei up the stairs. She could feel her heart pounding. Saying that she was nervous would be an understatement. Last time they had fought Dianne, they had barely won. But that was because of Hozier's mirror. Tenmei had told him to hide far away from the building. At least thirty meters, that was the distance Tenmei had told him to stay away from the building. It was too dangerous for the kid to be here. Joanne could feel her heart in her throat, pounding relentlessly. She could feel the sweat drip from her face, and her mouth drying up. Kenna apparently took notice of this and grabbed Joanne's hand.

"It's okay," she said in a reassuring voice, "There's no need to be afraid, we'll stop Dianne and save Josuke."

Joanne blushed as Kenna held her hand, "I-I'm just nervous, you know? After what happened last time."

"Last time you had the most courageous face I'd ever seen," Kenna said, "Don't tell me that was all for show."

"It wasn't. You're right, Kenna." Joanne felt her face heat up as she stared into Kenna's kind eyes, "Hey after all this is over, I need to tell you something." Joanne took a quick glance at Tenmei who was looking the other way to not interrupt the two, "In private."

Kenna felt her face getting hot as well, "Oh!" she said excitedly before saying, "I'm looking forward to it," in as calm of a voice as she could muster.

The three reached the top of the stairs. "Yeah," Joanne whispered, "Dianne's definitely close. I still can't tell how close she is, but I should be able to sense if we're walking closer or farther away from her."

"That's good to know," Tenmei said, "Let's start by going to the right, away from the next flight of stairs. Best case scenario, we'll corner them."

Kenna and Joanne nodded as they, along with Tenmei, turned to the right corridor. Joanne shuddered, "She's here. It feels like there's a hand gripping my heart. She's close, there's no doubt about it." Joanne turned to her left where Kenna was but was surprised to not see her there, "Kenna? Where are you?"

"She's up there," Tenmei said, "Kenna fell onto the ceiling."

"Joanne watch out!" Kenna called from the ceiling, "this has to be a Stand attack!"

Tenmei seemed to be pulled back by something, and he flew back down the corridor away from Joanne before landing painfully on the wall on the other side of the hallway.
"What is this!" Joanne yelled before she felt herself being pulled to the much nearer end of the corridor. She was standing sideways on the wall.

"She's trying to separate us!" Kenna yelled, running upside down on the ceiling towards Joanne, "This has to be one of Dianne's Stands!"

"Above Earth!" A pitch-black Stand with multiple glowing dots on it resembling stars appeared. Dozens of moving comet-like shapes flew across its body. Its left eye was in the shape of the sun, and orbiting rings spun around its arms, "I've changed your gravitational pulls." Dianne walked out of a closed door, "I knew the Speedwagon Foundation was going to send in people to exterminate us," she said, "But I wasn't sure if Cliff and Miller had killed you or not. All I had to do was wait. I couldn't kill Josuke just yet. Not without being sure that you were dead. So Khan and I waited. But it seems that you're still alive. Can I assume that Cliff and Miller are already dead?"

"I dunno," Joanne said, "They could be. It's up to June and Ally whether they die or not."

"Eaden and Clayton betrayed me?" Dianne asked, "What about Dodson? Where is Loni Dodson?"

"Dead," Joanne said, looking up from the wall in order to face Dianne, "Your plan is falling apart. It's just you and Khan Miran now."

"I'm sorry," Dianne said, "I was hoping no one else would need to be caught in between. But if this is what needs to happen in order to end our lineage, it's a worthy sacrifice."

"Bullshit!" Joanne yelled, "You keep talking about how our lineages are at fault. It's you, Dianne. You're at fault. Do you have any idea how many people have gotten hurt because of your actions?"

"I know the consequences of my actions," Dianne said, "But if it wasn't me, it would have been someone worse. Way worse. Our bloodline is always attracted to misfortune. And good people die because of us. So a few deaths in this generation is nothing compared to the countless other deaths in future generations if our bloodline continues."

"You piss me off so much I can barely stand!" Joanne yelled, "You manipulate people into doing what you want. You force them to work for you even if it kills them. Every time I think about you, my blood boils! Abstract! Do your thing!" Double Abstract appeared and swiped the wall Joanne was standing on, turning it into liquid, and sending her falling sideways out of the building.

"Joanne!" Kenna yelled, not making it to Joanne in time to grab her from the roof, "Dianne, you bastard! Ushasha sha sha sha sha sha sha sha sha sha sha sha sha sha!" Redbone appeared before Kenna and got ready to punch Dianne but was sent falling to the other side of the hallway along with its user when Above Earth clapped its hands.

"Stay out of this, Fletcher," Dianne said, "This is your last chance. If you or Kakyoin try to get in my way again, you will die."

Dianne peered out of the hole that Joanne had made. What is her plan? Is she trying to escape? Once she gets out of Above Earth's range, her gravitational pull will return to normal. She wouldn't leave her friends alone, there's a reason for why she left, but what is it? Damn it, ten seconds have already passed, I can't use my brother's Voltaire to replay events. What is it? What the hell is she planning?!

Tenmei caught Kenna as she fell onto his side of the wall two dozen meters away from the other side of the hallway. "Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"That's good to know. Listen Kenna I broke several bones when I fell back here, you wouldn't mind healing me, would you?"

"Oh my gosh, sorry!" Kenna immediately opened Redbone's chest. "What's Joanne planning?" she asked as she helped Tenmei enter.

"I don't know. She risked falling out of the second story in order to escape the range of this gravity Stand Dianne is using. I'm not sure exactly what its range is, but we are almost exactly two dozen meters away from Dianne. Its range is at least two dozen meters. We might even have to stretch it to thirty just to be safe. Yes, it's safe to assume that the range is about thirty meters. Joanne fell in that direction for thirty meters before the effect wore off. Joanne knew the range of the Stand. She saw how far back I had fallen, she probably made the same assumption I had made. She wanted to get thirty meters away from this building, why? What's thirty meters away?"

Redbone's chest opened up again, and the newly healed Tenmei stepped out, "It's Hozier." he continued, "She wants to go to Hozier. She thinks that Hozier can help. I agree. Hozier's Stand is beneficial. But that's why I had him stay so far away. I was assuming that we'd kill Dianne today. After today, she'd be out of the picture. It's The Wall I'm most worried about, Kenna. Why hasn't The Wall attacked? Why did Dianne only recruit June, Ally, Cliff, and Miller? Why not The Wall? That's what I'm scared of. After Dianne, The Wall will come. That's what we need Hozier for. So why is Joanne risking him to beat Dianne? And why didn't she say anything when I told him to stay away from the building? If she thought he was necessary for victory, why didn't she tell me?"

"Because she didn't have a plan back then," Kenna said, "After spending over two months with her, I've picked up on a lot of things. Despite her bold attitude, she's shy when talking to strangers. She doesn't like talking about her childhood, just like me. She tends to brush her hand through her hair when she's bored. She stumbles over her words when caught off guard. It's all these little things I've picked up from her, but most importantly, I've noticed how good she is at improvising. This plan that Joanne has, she made it up on the spot. So the best we can do is put our faith in Joanne. If she thinks that Hozier can help us win, then I believe her. Hozier will be the key."

Tenmei sighed, "I believe you Kenna, and I believe in Joanne. I trust that she has a good plan."

...

Abstract turned the wall into liquid, and Joanne fell horizontally away from the building. After a few seconds of free falling, she felt her gravity shift back to normal and fell to the ground.

"Couldn't you have tried to land somewhere softer?" Abstract asked.

"Shut up," Joanne said, "We had no other way out." Joanne got off the ground, she had scraped her knee open through her pants, hit her nose, and broke her left pinky finger. Joanne tried to shake the pain off as she ran towards where Hozier had been hiding. "We need to get down," Joanne told Abstract, "We can't let Dianne see us!"

The two hid behind a shoe store to catch their breaths. "Damn, my finger hurts," Abstract complained, "I think it's broken."

"Yeah, I know," Joanne winced, "But Kenna will fix us up when we come back. Can you still punch, Abstract?"

"Of course, I can! Who do you think you're talking to?"

"Good, we just need to find Hozier."

"No, we don't. He's found us." Abstract said as she pointed at Hozier, cowering behind a trash can, "Come here, kid!" she called.

"Joanne!" the kid ran towards her and hugged her, "You're bleeding!"

"I'm fine, Hozier. Listen, I need you to use your Stand. Bring out your mirror."

"Okay," Hozier said as he let go of Joanne, "I'll try. Take me to Church!" The mirror sprouted out of the ground and rose next to him.

"Okay," Joanne said, "Now there's something I wanna test out. Abstract!"

"Kono kono kono kono kono!" Abstract punched the mirror and quickly jumped out of the way. The punches hit the building behind Abstract reflected in the mirror, and cracked dents appeared. "I think I've figured out your Stand," Joanne said, "It has two parts to its ability. The first primary part is to reflect any attacks that come towards it. Your mirror stores attacks for no more than a second and releases them to whatever is being reflected. But there's another part to it. There's something that you did two months ago, Hozier. Do you remember what that was? Your mirror cracked, and it tore open the walls and roof of the mansion and injured Dianne's head. I think you can make cracks appear on your mirror, and whatever is reflected gets cut in the same way, am I right?"

"I-I'm not sure," Hozier said, "I wanted the bad man, Dio, to go away!"

"The bad man's back," Joanne said, "Dio is in that building over there," Joanne pointed to the building she had fallen out of, "If you squint hard enough, you can see her looking for me out that hole in the wall."

"I think I see her," Hozier said.

"Okay good, could you point your mirror so it reflects onto her?"

"I-I'll try," Hozier stared at the mirror for a second before it turned and faced the building.

"Okay, good," Joanne said, "She doesn't see us yet so let's use this to our advantage. Hozier, I want you to form a crack in your mirror. Just a small crack. Make sure Dianne is in the reflection. That's all you need to do. Can you do that?"

"I think so," Hozier concentrated hard, and a small crack formed in the mirror, reflecting Dianne, and part of the building. Joanne turned around to see the damage. The side of the building had a crack going through it, and the crack crept up the wall and hit Dianne, the crack split open her thigh, went all the way up her torso, all ripped up to her right shoulder, causing her arm to fall off. Dianne coughed up blood and fell face-first out of the building. Right before she hit the ground, Khan Miran appeared, Amplifier standing next to him, and caught her. "I won't let you die," he said as he laid the bleeding Dianne on the grass. The glare from the sun alerted him to where the mirror was and he looked directly into Joanne's eyes.

"Joanne Jones," he said, slowly transporting himself closer, moving the sound of his voice towards Joanne, "You have attempted to assassinate Dianne Donovan, the savior of our world. Your crimes against the well-being of humanity will not be unforgiven. I survived that crash on Van Fleet for this very moment, I am here to avenge this world's savior." Faster and faster, he transported his body around Joanne, using the echoes of his own voice. Joanne couldn't keep track of him. In the blink of an eye, Khan appeared in front of her and thrust a knife into her stomach.

"Joanne Jones," he said in a menacing whisper, echoing in his metal mask, "Your penalty is death."

...

A/N: And that's chapter 26! First thing I'd like to mention is that Giorno and the entire Passione group have been mentioned plenty of times in this fanfiction, this chapter included. These little hints are just fun references and will have nothing to do with the actual plot. Giorno and the gang will not appear in this story. Anyways, Miller and Cliff died in this chapter, their flashback of joining Dianne was meant to be added at some point during one of the Flood chapters, but I thought it was more fitting here, right next to their deaths. Next chapter will be the final Heatseeker, so I guess I'll see you all next week for Episode 27: Heatseeker Part 3.
