Kashyyk 3998 BBY
Harry let out a sigh as he considered everything that had happened on Onderon. Michael, Katie, Dennis, and Seamus had been there for a few months now keeping an eye on the situation. Although Seamus had recently been traveling back and forth in order to spend time with Ron and Dean. Nothing of note was happening now, but the four seemed to be enjoying what had turned into down time, and had built strong friendships with the Jedi Knights they had fought with. But Harry was still concerned that the mysterious son of Antonin Dolohov had yet to reveal himself, and had disappeared without a trace.
The likely survival of the four Death Eaters had stirred everyone to up their training. Even Draco had been working harder than ever before, as they would no doubt want his head for betraying them. He had been unable to contact Pansy and Goyle and warn them as they had left Kashyyk shortly after they arrived in the Galaxy and hadn't been heard from since. Mundungus was working for Blaise as his contact on the black market in the underworld of several planets, but he had so many disguises and fake names that it was unlikely that the former Death Eaters would ever find him, especially considering that even Kreacher had a difficult time finding him in one city back home.
Dudley and Zacharias had left as well, but neither were in any danger. Dudley was currently operating as a bounty hunter in the Outer Rim, was completely unrecognizable, and was no longer using his given name and it was likely that they wouldn't recognize it if he did. And Zacharias had disappeared off the map, but Smith was a rather common name on some Core planets such as Corellia and Coruscant, so there was nothing tying him to them. It also made it rather easy for Zacharias to disappear off their radar like he had.
Blaise and Parvati had excellent security and they were well funded by various politicians on Coruscant. And they had concealed their gifts and didn't use their real names either. They even had made up backgrounds that would stand up to anyone looking into them. Justin was considered one of the Banking Guild's most valuable customers on Muunilist despite being human when he went there to do business, and nobody fucked with the Banking Guild unless they had a death wish. And it's not like the Death Eaters would remember a Muggleborn they considered underneath their notice, especially one that would be using aliases in order to make them think he was several different people from the same family once enough time had passed. All of their members not publicly associated with the Jedi Mages would have a similar setup.
Padma and Anthony had accepted background roles helping run the school and keeping records, as had Terry Boot, their resident historian, Hannah, who was their best healer, and Harry's wife Susan, who had decided that she would prefer to take charge of the care of the orphans that they had taken in alongside Megan Jones, who had married Ernie Macmillan. Neville preferred to stay with his wife and plants for the time being, and Harry's wife Daphne and Astoria, who had married Draco, were working on updating their potions stock. Both of them didn't like most people anyway, so they were unlikely to leave Endor at all.
They had quite the setup on Endor. A large, sprawling complex with homes for them all had been developed and hidden under several powerful wards that had been built with Harry using the powerful Elder Wand. Not even a Sith could find them unless Harry himself let them, which would never happen. The wards had been built with ancient magics found in several ancient pureblood grimoires whose descendants had come through the Veil, and had been combined to make the wards indestructible. A library, a school, a Great Hall for meetings and feasts, and a Weasley Wizarding Wheezes shop run by the Weasley Twins and Lee had been built as well.
Angelina had been a huge help to Susan and Megan in taking care of the kids when she wasn't off-world getting supplies with the occasional help of Lee, Fred, or George. Hannah Longbottom had been helping as well, as was Ginny when she wasn't busy taking care of James and the newly born Molly Minerva. They had decided that both of their parents would be honored when naming their kids, as they both wanted a large family. Susan had just recently revealed that she was pregnant as well, and Harry couldn't be happier.
Daphne wasn't in any hurry to have kids though, and Harry respected that. Both Daphne and Astoria had long been worried about the blood malediction in their bloodline, and only recently managed to confirm to their satisfaction that it had been broken when they crossed through the Veil. And neither of them felt ready to be parents, like pretty much everyone else did. Draco had been a huge help, and had worked well with Harry and Ernie running the day-to-day affairs of their little Wizarding community, much to the surprise of many. Both Ernie and Draco were invaluable to Harry, and had become close friends with both of them.
Penelope and Remus had taken mentor roles in the group, and had become invaluable resources for the group. Penelope had taken Luna under her wing, and had helped her learn how to develop her gifts. Luna had been happier then Harry had ever seen her, and had used her gifts as a Seer to help them prevent several catastrophes already and had been crucial in keeping their existence a secret. Hermione had taken charge of the library on Endor, and was the truly becoming a well of knowledge. She had recreated several books from their world with the help of the Pensieve that they had found in one of the vaults Harry had inherited.
She was still in a relationship in Ron, but they still argued quite frequently and gave everyone a headache. It didn't help that Ron decided that he preferred to be off-world as much as possible, and it was often that it wasn't on official business for the community. It didn't help that he was often in the company of a currently heartbroken Dean and Seamus when he left, and he would never tell he where he was going. And Harry just knew that he would end up needing to intervene sooner or later. Hermione was ready to wring Ron's neck by the looks of it. Although they were doing a good job in cheering up Dean, who has been using the Pensieve to restore some of Earth's famous artwork.
Algernon Croaker had remained with the Jedi Order on Ossus as a member of what Sirius had nicknamed the Jedi Council, which was a gathering of the most respected Jedi Masters who would gather to discuss the workings of the Force and the Jedi Order. Sirius had also stayed on Ossus, and quickly won a lot of respect amongst the Order when he had defeated several skilled Masters in a spar, showing them exactly why he had been feared by both the Death Eaters and the Sith at one point or another. He had already been inducted into the Jedi Council on Ossus alongside Odan-Urr, Thon, Vodo Siosk-Baas, Arca Jeth, Shayoto, and Ood Bnar. It was hilarious to Harry to see Sirius having to be a responsible role model one day and then sneaking off to party on Zeltros the next.
Teddy was now a rambunctious thirteen year old, and was becoming very skilled with his Metamorphagus abilities, and was showing skills that even his mother hadn't had. More than once he had scared the hell out of someone by shifting his face into a clown mask or turning his hand into a knife. Harry should've known that having Sirius help Remus in his training was a bad idea. Nevertheless, Harry adored his godson, and they were very close.
Hestia had been on vacation for the last couple of weeks, having recently returned from a month-long trip to take down the Hutt that had attacked Master Thon and Nomi Sunrider on Ambria. What she had seen at Bogga the Hutt's palace had angered her greatly, which Bogga found out the hard way. There wasn't much left of the Hutt when she was done with him. It was so bad that the locals had blamed the ensuing destruction of the Hutts palace as a malfunctioning super weapon, prompting Harry to send her on an extended vacation to Naboo to calm down. They had only planned to assassinate the Hutt and blame it on a rival Hutt, not completely destroy his palace!
Harry did think that they should eventually do something about the Hutt problem though, and he made sure that Hestia knew that before he sent her to Naboo. But it wasn't the right time, especially with the revelation of Dolohov's survival, as well as the possibility that Rookwood, Greyback, and Travers had survived as well. They could not afford to go to war with the Hutts, who were rather good at survival like any good crime lords were.
Though considering the feeling of dread he had been feeling lately, Harry was concerned that another war was coming. The only question was when and with who.
Onderon, 3997 BBY
Seamus let out a cheer of excitement as he flew atop on of the war beasts of Onderon. He had been learning to ride them alongside Dennis, Katie, Ulic Qel-Droma, Nomi Sunrider, Dace Diath, Tott Doneeta, and Qrrrl Toq. Ulic and Nomi flew up alongside him, as they were both currently in the air with him.
"This is amazing, isn't it Seamus?" Ulic asked him as he flew alongside the Jedi Mage. The two men had become fast friends, sharing a love of flying and a strong sense of justice. Seamus had been the one who helped Ulic win the heart of Nomi Sunrider, whom he had fallen for. Despite being a womanizer, Seamus knew what it took to make a lasting relationship work and had experience with losing a loved one, something Nomi had experienced. He had given Ulic invaluable advice, considering that he had caught Ulic sneaking out of Nomi's quarters that morning.
"Yeah it is, but I reckon it's not the best ride you've had today," Seamus said, winking at the man he now considered his closest friend outside of his mates on Endor. They had spent a lot of time together during their on Onderon, even though Seamus had spent a couple of weeks helping his best friend deal with a breakup, something that Ulic admired about his friend.
Both Ulic and Nomi heard him and blushed beet red, and Nomi retaliated by slapping him across the back of the head with the Force.
"Ow. I knew you and Katie have been spending too much time together," Seamus complained, rubbing the back of his head with his hand. Both Jedi laughed at this, though it was true that Nomi and Katie had become extremely close friends. If Nomi wasn't with Ulic or learning from Arca, she was with Katie and Shoaneb, who had become the best friends she never knew she wanted.
As they were flying, Jedi Masters Arca Jeth and Sirius Black stood watching them fly the war beasts. Michael Corner and Oss Willum stood beside them. "Ulic and Nomi seem to be getting rather close," Sirius commented with a smirk. No one noticed how Michael frowned at his comment, or the surge of jealousy coming from the young Jedi Mage. They were too busy watching the Jedi flying and were preoccupied by the news they had just been given by Master Sirius, who had just come from Ossus with orders from the Jedi Masters there.
"It's a shame that you will have to send them off to war so soon, Master Arca," Oss said, the Vultan Jedi Knight having completely missed the double meaning of Sirius's statement.
"Yes. Unfortunately, all of you may soon return to battle," Arca said. Arca had understood the double meaning, but he elected to ignore Sirius. He felt it was not his place to comment or interfere in the relationships of his fellow Jedi.
The Jedi Masters walked towards the gathered Jedi Knights and Mages, as they had all gathered to watch the flying of Ulic, Seamus, and Nomi. It made it rather convenient for Sirius and Arca, as they had news to share.
"I've got some bad news, my friends. I thought the Sith teachings that were active here had been contained, as the only surviving student was a Sith Mage that we have heard was last seen headed into the Outer Rim. Apparently, I was wrong. A political coup in the Empress Teta System seems to be connected to the Freedon Nadd Uprising. And the Teta System has become our responsibility," Arca told them.
"How's that possible, Master Arca? I know the Tetan system- it's on the other side of the Galaxy," Dace Diath asked.
"We have learned that two young Tetans were on Onderon during the height of the Uprising. Apparently they made contact with King Ommin and he initiated them in Sith Magic. They are named Satal Keto and his cousin Aleema, heirs to the throne- and my descendants," Sirius said with a grimace. Several of the Jedi winced at this piece of information. Although it had been over eight hundred years since Sirius had stepped foot in the system named after his late wife, they could that the actions of his descendants had reopened an old wound for the powerful Jedi Master and Mage.
"I don't believe that two youngsters can reach the level of evil we saw in old King Ommin or Freedon Nadd," Oss Willum said, attempting to reassure Sirius.
"I'll bet that they don't even understand what they've unleashed, and that makes them all the more dangerous," Cay Qel-Droma warned. While he felt for the Jedi Master, he knew that they could not afford to underestimate the Dark Side.
"Combined Jedi and Republic forces will attempt to save the Tetan worlds still resisting the coup. Dace, Qrrrl Toq, Oss Willum, and Shoaneb, I want you to return to Ossus and inform the Jedi Masters of what you have seen here on Onderon. Nomi will stay here with me awhile to continue her lessons in battle meditation, then she and Ulic will fly directly to the Empress Teta system to lead the Jedi efforts alongside Master Sirius and Seamus Finnigan," Arca said, nodding at his fellow Master in respect. The fact that Sirius was willing to face his past and corrupted descendants in order to save the system he once led was lost to no one, and everyone there respected him for it.
"Michael, I want you and Dennis to report back to base. They'll want to no what is going on. I'd like Katie to stay here with Master Arca in case any Naddists decide to stick their head out of the holes they've been hiding in," Sirius said.
"It has been an honor to serve you, Master Arca," Qrrrl Toq said. He had learned much from the Arkanian Jedi Master in his time on Onderon, and had formed strong friendship with the Jedi Knights and Mages he had fought and served with.
And with that, they all said goodbye to their time of relaxation and some of the friends they had made. Cay, Ulic, Seamus, Tott, and Katie watched as their friends flew away and Nomi left with Arca for her lessons in battle meditation. Sirius had left as well. Apparently he had a meeting with a contact that had escaped the Empress Teta System.
"I'll miss them. Brave warriors and good friends," Tott Doneeta said as he watched the ships depart for Ossus and wherever the secret base the Jedi Mages were headed for. Cay, Ulic, and Tott then decided to take a look at the Sith artifacts that King Ommin had left, while Seamus and Katie decided to go with Sirius.
Deneba, two months later
Harry had a bad feeling about this. This Jedi Conclave at Deneba would be an extremely enticing target to their enemies. Already they had suffered defeat against the Krath at Koros Major. Many had lost their lives in the battle, and Jedi Knight Ulic Qel-Droma had been wounded. The Krath had subsequently declared war on the Jedi Order, prompting the Jedi to call all Jedi to Deneba to discuss the rising darkness they were facing. And as the leader of the Jedi Mages, he was expected to attend. It was his duty, after all. And Sirius, Remus, Seamus, Katie, Michael, Dennis, Dean, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny were there with him.
It was then that the meeting began and Jedi Master Odan-Urr started speaking to them via Force telepathy. Fortunately, Sirius had warned them that this would happen. Harry had bad experiences with voices and his head, and would have thrown the Jedi Master out of his head rather violently if he hadn't been warned. The aged Jedi Master brought Sirius, Seamus, Ulic, and Nomi Sunrider to the front to speak about what they had seen in the Battle of Koros Major. He introduced them as the Jedi that had led their forces in the Battle of Koros Major.
"Ulic has been made watchman of the Tetan System. Let him tell you his plan," Odan-Urr said.
"The Galactic Senate and many of you wish to respond to the Krath with overwhelming military force. I have a better idea," Ulic said.
"You failed us once, Qel-Droma. Are you experienced enough to lead us in war?" a Jedi Master in the crowd asked mockingly.
"Considering he has been fighting the Dark Side for almost three years now while you've been sitting in your comfy home on Ossus, I would say that he is, Master Lamar," Sirius retorted, causing some laughter in the crowd and causing the Jedi Master Vrook Lamar to be cowed into silence. Ulic shot Sirius a grateful look before continuing.
"A war with the armies of the Krath might last for years. Many Jedi will die. What will be gained by this bloodshed? We will have slain thousands and maybe we will restore the democratic government to the Tetan system. Meanwhile, the Krath will survive with their dark powers intact. The Sith evil will once again spread through the Galaxy like a sickness!" Ulic said passionately.
"May I speak, Qel-Droma?" an aged Jedi Master in the front of the crowd asked.
"You have not been recognized, Shayoto," another Jedi Master interjected.
"Let him speak," Master Arca Jeth said.
"Thank you, Arca. Does anybody remember the Vultar Cataclysm? Or the Gank Massacres? I do! I have lived a very long time. My master also lived many centuries, as did his master before him. My master's master told me about the Hundred Year Darkness and the Great Hyperspace War. He taught me how the agents of the Dark Side do their work. They act in complete secrecy until the leaders of a civilization have fallen for their seductions, and then they strike with with unexpected suddenness, bringing down empires that took eons to build," Shayoto said.
"No one disagrees with you, Master Shayoto. The Krath conspiracy must be torn out at the roots before they can spread to other systems. The only way you can do that is if one of us joins the Krath and takes them down from the inside," Ulic said, ignoring Sirius muttering about how he remembered those events too.
Chaos reigned as he made his statement. The Jedi did not like the idea at all. Arca Jeth in particular was vocally against it, but as he spoke, he stopped mid-sentence, as he and many others there heard the suffering of a Jedi named Exar Kun, whose curiosity about the Sith had led him to Korriban under the guidance of the spirit of Freedon Nadd. Nadd had trapped him in a Sith temple in an effort to lead him further down a dark path and force him to free himself using the Dark Side. Little did they know that Nadd had been far more successful than even he had thought.
But that wasn't the only place the Dark Side struck. For moments after the screams of Exar Kun echoed through the Force, the Krath made their move. Secreted amongst the Jedi ships, a Tetan Corsair dropped a barrage of life pods containing war droids. And at the same time, modified serving droids unveiled weapons and started firing on the Jedi they served.
Harry and the Jedi Mages quickly shielded themselves and Harry took command. "Shields up! Ron, Seamus, Dean, cover our rear. Dennis, Hermione, Michael, Katie, use lightning hexes to take out these serving droids. Ginny, Sirius, and Remus- you're with me. We've got to cut off the war droids from reaching the rest of the Jedi!" Harry ordered.
Only moments after he had reached the pitched battle being raged between the Jedi and the Krath war droids, Harry decided that subtlety was overrated. He then did something that the few who saw him that day would ever forget. He pulled a large jeweled staff covered in cortosis armor, and stuck the Elder wand in the center before slamming the staff on the ground, shooting a wave of electricity that destroyed more than half of the war droids. Harry truly looked like a King in that moment, and his actions had saved the lives of many Jedi. But a dozen Jedi had been killed, including Jedi Master Arca Jeth.
Ulic wept as he held the robes of Arca Jeth, who had vanished into the Force upon his death. Nomi sat by his side, consoling her lover. Seamus, Cay, and Tott Doneeta would try and console him, but it was then and there in his anger and grief that Ulic Qel-Droma swore to bring down the Krath from within, for his Master that he lost and for the good of the Republic.
But Harry didn't learn this until much later. He had left not long afterwards with Ginny, Ron, Dean, Draco, and Hermione without a word to anyone. This would only enhance Harry's reputation in the legends and myths of the Jedi, as Sirius had told the Jedi many of Harry's exploits at Hogwarts. But because only a few Jedi had seen Harry destroy the droids with his staff, most Jedi still believed him to be a myth.
Remus disappeared shortly after the Conclave as well, also without a word to anyone. He returned to Kashyyk and returned to holing himself up in the castle. He would only stay there for a day before trying to disappear for good. He didn't realize that Harry had predicted that he would do that, and had put a tracking charm on the unsuspecting former Marauder. So Harry was more than aware that Remus had settled on Alderaan and became a nerf herder there. The idiot still had no sense of self worth even when he had it all.
Sirius, Seamus, Dennis, Michael, and Katie went back to Ossus with the Jedi. Sirius spent quite a bit of time arguing with Ulic about his decision to infiltrate the Krath. Sirius believed that Ulic would stick out like a sore thumb on Cinnigar, and that he would be captured, tortured, and probably killed. Sirius knew better then anyone how easy it was to lose yourself on a dark path. But Ulic refused to listen, and used his authority as the watchman of the Teta system to order them not to follow.
Sirius was furious. He believed that the Jedi should send a small strike team and covertly take out the Krath leadership and end the war. But the Jedi forbid it, and Harry had decided that it was the Jedi's decision to make. Seamus, Katie, Nomi, and Cay witnessed the ending of the argument. "Fine! Be stubborn and destroy yourself then! The Jedi Mages will be leaving Ossus until someone here sees sense!" Sirius said angrily. He was not only angry at Ulic, but at the Jedi Masters for indulging his foolishness and giving the Krath more time to build their forces.
Before they left, Seamus gave Cay a transmitter. Katie gave a similar one to Nomi. "Here. When you need us, use this to contact us. We will come, whether Sirius orders us to stay or not," Seamus told him, with Katie, Dennis, and Michael all nodding in agreement. They then said their goodbyes, and disappeared into the night.
Yavin IV, a couple months later
Exar Kun smiled maliciously at the ancient starship that once belonged to the Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow. He felt it was only fitting that it would serve the Sith again. The fact that the Massassi were a well trained fighting force with two generals that once served Freedon Nadd was a pleasant surprise. The fact that they now served him after he had vanquished the spirit of their former master was a bonus.
"Exar, the ship is in perfect working condition. We can leave whenever you wish," Antonin Dolohov said. The former enforcer that had served at the side of two Dark Lords had hardly aged at all despite having lived for more than seven centuries. Now he served a third. He only hoped that this one lived up to the high expectations that he had for him.
He had enjoyed working with Freedon Nadd and helping him conquer and rule Onderon. The man had been ruthless, efficient, and had known his limits. Although he had become quite insane after his death, which was why Antonin and Victor had not complained when Exar had permanently destroyed their old master. The man had started sounding like Voldemort with his delusions of grandeur and immortality. His first master had not been a pleasant man to work for, although he had enjoyed all the killing, fighting, and maiming he got to do. Both Nadd and Voldemort liked that.
"Excellent, thank you Antonin. I would like you and two of your best Massassi warriors to accompany me to the Empress Teta system. Freedon Nadd had other apprentices who he contacted before his demise, and they are a threat that must be destroyed," Exar said.
"Yes my Lord," Antonin said with a bow, before turning to do as his new Master asked. He couldn't wait to get started.
Empress Teta, a few days later
Ulic Qel-Droma sat in the lavish palace relaxing, his mind in turmoil thanks to the machinations of Satal and Aleema Keto's Sith Magics. His attempt to infiltrate the Krath had gone horribly wrong, as he had been tortured by a mistrustful Satal and injected with Sith poisons. He eventually was freed and made commander of their army, but the arrival of Nomi, his brother Cay, and Tott Doneeta caused things to further unravel for Ulic.
Nomi had allowed herself to be captured, and Ulic had done nothing, saying that he would execute her himself. He really did not intend to do so, sending a droid with a message to escape and return to Ossus. But Satal intercepted the droid, and sent an assassin to kill Ulic while he was in Aleema's quarters, as he had allowed himself to be seduced by the sorceress to give him access to Krath secrets. The assassin failed, and Aleema further manipulated Ulic by informing him that it was Satal who was responsible for the attack on Deneba, and the death of his Jedi Master.
Ulic dueled Satal and killed him in a fit of anger, unknowingly allowing the Sith poison to further corrupt his mind. He lashed out at Nomi, Cay, and Tott, forcing them to flee the planet as they were outnumbered by the forces of the Krath. Ulic was falling further and further into darkness and he didn't even realize it. And Aleema was continuously tempting Ulic and leading him even further into darkness.
"Ulic, this amulet is for you. It belonged to Satal. A great Jedi gave it to him," Aleema said, lying about where Satal had gotten it. But that was the way of the Dark Side that had long had control of her.
"Let me see it," Ulic demanded, taking the amulet from her.
"Perhaps this will help you conquer the Dark Side. Perhaps it will give you an advantage over me," Aleema said seductively, hoping to tempt the Jedi further.
"This is a Sith talisman like the ones we found on Onderon, but more powerful. You take a great risk giving it to me," Ulic said, looking up at his lover in surprise. The Jedi had found himself enchanted by Aleema's seductive beauty and had found her irresistible. And as Seamus liked to say, she was "an animal in the sack."
"I am enjoying our contest, but I am winning too easily. Perhaps I want you to become stronger. Perhaps I want to be conquered," Aleema said with a seductive purr that led to an intimate moment that was interrupted by the arrival of Exar Kun and his minions.
In another timeline, a joint Jedi and Beast Rider Strike team led by Cay Qel-Droma and Nomi Sunrider would reach the palace first and fail to convince Ulic Qel-Droma to return to Ossus and destroy the Krath. But thanks to Dolohov helping Exar find Naga Sadow's ship earlier and his efficiency in overseeing the building of the Sith temples on Yavin IV, Exar would arrive first. And this changed everything. Exar attacked them and knocked out Aleema, engaging Ulic in a duel. This caused their amulets to react and trigger a message from the long-dead Dark Lord of the Sith, Marka Ragnos!
"Cease! You of the future, hear me well. The two amulets are joined. The time is upon you. You have chosen, and now you are the chosen," the specter of the ancient Sith Lord said.
"Who are you?" Ulic demanded.
"I know him.. I've seen his mummified remains on Korriban!" Exar Kun said in realization. He also noticed that both Dolohovs had kneeled in the presence of the long-dead Sith Lord. This Sith Lord must have been important, as Dolohov was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Sith, having lived on Korriban for a number of years. He wouldn't bow to just anyone.
"It matters not who I am. My power is all that concerns you. You have found the amulets, and each other, and now the power of these amulets are joined. And I have come. I now complete your initiation to the Dark Side, so that you may bring to pass the great destiny foretold," the Sith Lord said.
Marka Ragnos moved over to Exar, and pressed his ghostly hand to his face. "Exar Kun, because of you, the Sith will never die. You have rightly earned the title of the Dark Lord of the Sith," Ragnos proclaimed. He then moved over to Ulic, and did the same.
"This other Jedi, Ulic Qel-Droma, he too has taken the dark road. He will become your first and foremost apprentice. By your free choice, both of you have become part of the of the Grand Design. We now secure the future, when the Sith take their revenge!" Marka Ragnos said before fading back into the Netherworld of the Force.
The two men rippled with more power than they had ever felt before as they clasped hands. Aleema woke to witness the extraordinary power the dead Dark Lord had unlocked from within them. "Let it be so, Qel-Droma. The Ancient Sith have spoken. Together, we will bring down the galaxy!" Exar Kun proclaimed.
"Yes, let it be so," Ulic agreed.
Just as Ulic said this, a loud explosion from across the city, followed by the sounds of blaster fire. For the Jedi had come for Ulic, and Sirius had hired a group of mercenaries from Hutt Space to take back the capital of the Empress Teta System and eliminate the Krath. And the Krath had been caught off guard. Victor quickly Apparated outside to see what was going on.
"Black," Dolohov growled, recognizing the man through the Force. It was rather hard for him to miss, seeing as they had been imprisoned right next to each other in Azkaban. Bellatrix had been imprisoned on the other side of her cousin, and Sirius had spent far too much time winding his cousin up and sending her off on rage-fueled rants, making his time in Azkaban even more unbearable than it already was. And Dolohov felt he still owed him a curse or two for that.
"And my brother is here as well, along with several Jedi Knights. I see you know of Master Black," Ulic said, noticing Dolohov and his son for the first time.
"Know of him? I know Sirius Black better than most can claim. I owe a few of my scars to him, after all," Dolohov said, glowering in the direction of the explosion. Just then, Victor Apparated back into the room, causing Aleema to jump in surprise.
"The princess's forces are being overrun. Black seems to have hired what appears to be a small army, and there are Jedi Knights helping them. Oh, and we have Beast Riders and Jedi flying towards the palace and they will be joining us soon," Victor said calmly.
Just as Victor finished speaking, said Beast Riders flew into the Royal quarters, with Jedi Knights Nomi Sunrider, Cay Qel-Droma, and Qrrrl Toq amongst them. Seconds later, Sirius Black, Katie Bell, Dennis Creevey, Michael Corner, and Seamus Finnigan Apparated into the palace, lightsabers ignited.
"Dolohov. Should've known you and your spawn would be here. A pity to see that Exar Kun has indeed fallen as far as Vodo thought, though. I'm a bit more disappointed to see that Ulic here has fallen for my granddaughter's tricks, especially after I warned him that she is a lot like my late cousin. Narcissa always was a self-absorbed bitch who was more than willing to open her legs for a bit of power," Sirius said with a slight smirk.
Victor managed to turn his amused chuckles into a cough, while Exar merely glared and Antonin let out an exasperated sigh. For Ulic had snarled angrily and ignited his lightsaber, and Aleema had let out a shriek of outrage and shot out a burst of Sith Magic designed to incinerate Sirius, which dissipated on Sirius's Shield Charm.
"Calm yourselves. Black is just trying to get you to attack him while he has the superior numbers. And I have seen far too many compatriots fall for that and either get slaughtered or captured," Antonin Dolohov, said, glaring at Sirius.
"You always were able to see through that one. How are Travers, Rookwood, and Greyback these days?" Sirius asked conversationally. Sirius knew that he needed to get confirmation of the other Death Eater' survival.
"Travers and Rookwood took off looking for a more peaceful existence in uncharted space about six hundred or so years ago. Apparently they didn't want to mess with the Jedi Order. And I killed Greyback about five hundred years ago. Even I'm not crazy enough to think that him having control of an army of werewolves that look like Inferi is a good idea. The bastard was trying to create a talisman like the one that Muur was rumored to have, only his was for werewolves," Dolohov said with a shudder.
As Sirius's face dawned a look of sheer horror at the thought of Greyback having control of a talisman that was even remotely like Muur's, what was left of the palace guards and the two Massassi warriors took this opportunity to attack him. The combined Mage and Jedi forces dispatched them rather easily, but they had served their purpose. The Sith had escaped, leaving the planet in control of the Jedi and the Republic.
"What do you mean we aren't going to look for them?" Cay asked angrily a few days later. Both Sirius and Nomi, who were in charge of the respective Mages and the Jedi on Empress Teta, had both steadfastly refused to give chase to Cay's brother and the Sith.
"We have a duty to the people of this system to help heal the damage done by the Krath. And there is far more going on than you know, Cay. Dolohov would not work for anything less than a Sith Lord. It's obvious, isn't it? Exar Kun has become the Dark Lord of the Sith, and Ulic has become his apprentice. Your brother has chosen the Dark Side, Cay. He's chosen his side," Sirius said sadly. He hated laying it out to Cay like this, but the young man needed to accept the truth.
"He wouldn't do that! He's still a undercover Jedi, and we need to get him away from the Sith. Nomi, Seamus, you know Ulic. Tell Sirius that Ulic is still on our side," Cay pleaded with two of his closest friends.
"You saw the darkness in him, Cay. And he was wearing a Sith talisman. He's made his choice, and he's chosen the Sith and his Krath whore," Nomi said bitterly. Sirius winced at this statement. Pointing out that Ulic and Aleema were obviously sleeping together in front of the woman who had fallen for Ulic shortly after losing her husband probably hadn't been the most tactful thing he could have done.
"I want nothing more than to drag Ulic out of this, through an army of Sith if necessary. But we don't have the manpower to pull that off, especially with that mercenary group scattering throughout the Outer Rim with the gold we paid them. Hell, we don't even know where Ulic went. And wandering around looking for someone in Sith space or wherever he went is suicidal. He'll eventually show up, and when he does, I'll be right beside you dragging him back to Ossus," Seamus told his friend.
"Fine," Cay said, finally listening in the face of reason, causing a collective sigh of relief.
Sirius reluctantly agreed with the Republic representatives that arrived moments later to stay on Empress Teta and help them establish a democratic government. People were far more willing to listen to Sirius since he had ruled beside the woman who had united and protected them all of those centuries ago. And while the Krath had been completely destroyed in the Empress Teta System, the Sith were still out there. And they were far more dangerous than the Krath could have ever hoped to be...
AN: And just like that, 47 of the 50 surviving souls from the Wizarding World have been revealed with the confirmation of Travers, Rookwood, and Greyback's survival. Read up on the Rakghoul plague created by Karness Muur, and imagine the Rakghouls as werewolves. And that's what Greyback was trying to do. Pretty terrifying if you think about it. Greyback still counts for the number despite Dolohov's claims, as he did pass through the Veil.
Also, to clarify: I am not bashing Ron. Ron is having a realistic reaction to the destruction of his homeworld, and needs to learn how to cope. And the others have their own problems from that, which will be discussed at some point.
Also, I have deleted my time traveling scene that brought back Tonks, Bill, and Fleur. I have come to hate it, and the idea I had for them no longer makes sense for my story. I may have the Legends make a cameo eventually, but it's still up in the air. So there will be three different characters introduced from the Wizarding World at some point. They will not be coming back from the dead this time.
The Sith have joined forces and retreated to Yavin. This changes canon quite a bit, especially in the case of certain armored warriors.. Hope you enjoyed the update.
