A/N: this a poem for my English novel project on The Hunter. I know the rhyming is off a little and it's really long, but it's the best I could do. So, Ms. Toney, if you put a few of these phrases into the computer and came up with this, I really wrote it, but wanted to post it online too. C.BA, Pre-AP English 10…3rd period.
A white box,
Within is a game,
Once they play it,
Their name will never be the same.
They took the oath,
They pierced the Veil,
Now their trapped,
In a private hell.
Dee was first
Aliens so advanced, so sterile,
She and Jenny knew then,
They were in grave peril.
They escaped,
But only just.
Now they know
Winning is a must.
Audrey is next,
It came from her childhood.
They found themselves lost,
In a deep, dark wood.
They were given to the elves,
Jenny met with The Shadow Man,
They fought for their life,
Got an opening, then they ran.
Next it was Michael's turn.
They found him in a hallway,
What his nightmare was however,
He couldn't seem to say.
Leaves and vines began to cover their bodies,
Soon their need became dire,
They had to get rid of them,
So they sat the roots on fire.
They found themselves in a maze of mirrors,
There they found Summer.
Julian said one wouldn't survive,
But to that fact they couldn't be dumber.
Summer's nightmare was a messy room.
Despite all of they help they did give,
Through the mess,
Summer did not live.
Next in line was Zack.
Jenny found him through a door,
Trapped in there with his photos,
She had to tell him Summer was no more.
His nightmare was his art.
A hi-tech robot that looked like him.
He took off the helmet,
They won on a whim.
Finally it was time for Jenny,
It was one from her past.
It started with a basement,
Ant the time she had seen it last.
She'd let The Shadow Men free.
Her grandfather made the decision amidst the strife,
He saved her from the shadow men,
A life for a life.
They reached the top.
They won the game,
But Julian had a twist,
The rules weren't the same.
He said Jenny was the prize,
He wouldn't let them leave.
Little did they know,
Jenny had a trick up her sleeve.
Jenny took the oath,
She couldn't lose.
She took the ring and recited
'All I refuse, and thee I chuse'
He let her friend leave,
He took Jenny to a room,
She trapped him back in the closet,
Managed to avoid her doom.
They escaped from the game,
Right as the clock did chime.
Their troubles were over,
Until next time.
