Ch. 23: Jōnetsu no kikō shashin satsuei

She suddenly blushed upon recalling the MOMENT they had inside the apartment several days ago and she shook her head as she wanted to erase THAT PART as it was not only embarrassing, she really refused to acknowledge the part where she had affection for Naegi, as she mentally reiterate that what happened between them was a ONE-TIME only and there is nothing ROMANTIC between her and Naegi whatsoever.

By then Yui Sumidare came for a visit and noticed her friend blushing deeply and she asked her what is wrong, and Kirigiri frantically shook her head and said that she is perfectly fine and yet Yui can tell that her friend is flustered over something and asked her if everything is okay.

Not wanting to cause undue stress on her friend, Yui asked Kirigiri how is her investigation on the Yuta Asahina case, and Kirigiri said while she is sure that Enoshima is involved, she is unable to find concrete evidence that would pinpoint her as the culprit, and thus as of now she is STUCK and would need to find clues to would strengthen her case and get a breakthrough.

Yui smiled and told her friend not to get too riled up, yet Kirigiri said he has to, as her reputation as being a member of a family of famous detectives is on the line and that she has to make a friend of hers WAKE UP due to him beginning to associate himself with someone who is implicated in the murder of a 12-year old boy.

Yui smirked and asked if this is about Naegi, causing her to stop in her tracks and her cheeks started to redden a bit, and Yui began teasing her friend about it, seeing that Kirigiri has taken a liking to Naegi and is getting insecure about him hanging out with Enoshima, much to the teen detective's embarrassment and denial.

This made Yui smile even wider and urged her friend to admit that she has taken a liking to Naegi, and Kirigiri became more flustered and deny those accusations, much to her embarrassment and denial, mentally refusing to admit that she has developed feelings for Naegi.

Yui laughed and tells her friend not to get too worked up over this, and suggested that she take a break, and invited her to go hang out with her at Starbucks, and though Kirigiri initially refused, she eventually consented as Yui promised that a little break would help her brain recover and refresh, which the teen detective sighed as she could not turn down her friend who knows what's best.

At the office, the studio manager is talking on the phone, where he is being interviewed by the police chief who asked for details as charges against the jilted models are being readied, and the studio manager said he would file charges because of the models' actions against Naegi and for disrupting the studio's operations.

As the two talked some more, the studio manager and the police chief are startled as they can hear the jilted models screaming and wailing as their mug shots are being taken, and their wailing is annoying as they reiterated that they did nothing wrong and begged to be removed from the studio's blacklist as well as wanting to resume their modeling careers.

"WE ARE SORRY!"

"FORGIVE US!"

The police chief sighed and asked the studio manager if he is willing to drop the charges and enter into a settlement, but the studio manager said he won't, as he wants to set an example and make sure that something like this would never happen again, and the police chief nodded and thanked him for his cooperation.

After that, the police chief approached the jilted models and informed them that the studio manager will continue to press charges and tells them that they will have to accept the responsibilities of their actions and would serve as a reminder that their actions led to this, and they have no option but to accept it whether they like it or not.
