Ch. 24: Hidzuke no pureryūdo
A few days later, the scene shifts at her abode, where Kyoko Kirigiri is once again hard at work piecing together additional clues that she acquired in investigating the death of Yuta Asahina, and up to now she hasn't gotten a breakthrough yet, though some of the clues she got somewhat points to Enoshima, yet they are not conclusive enough and thus she hits a roadblock as couldn't come up with a reason to have Enoshima arrested without concrete proof.
She began to show signs of frustrations as she felt that this case she is investigating has been dragging on for weeks, and now she is facing the prospect that the Yuta Asahina case might be closed due to lack of progress and evidence, and Kirigiri felt that she might need to personally tail Enoshima and follow her every move to see if there could be any incriminating proof found so that she can build a strong case against Enoshima.
By then Aoi Asahina came and paid Kirigiri a visit, and asked her how the investigation is going, and once told, Aoi started to lose faith and is on the brink of despair that her younger brother's death will never be resolved, but Kirigiri assured to her that she will not give up and vowed to exert efforts to pin down the suspect and gave her word that Yuta will get the justice he deserves.
"Do not give up hope, Asahina."
"…"
"I'll do what I can to solve this case."
"I…I…"
"Have faith."
"Kirigiri-san…"
"Trust me. I am exerting all efforts to solve this murder case."
"…"
Aoi stared at Kirigiri while shedding tears, and she hugged her while thanking her for the kind words, and the teen detective assure to Aoi that she will not stop until the true culprit is exposed, and made it clear that she will do whatever it takes to solve this murder case no matter how difficult it presents, and that she will not be discouraged over something.
"Do not lose faith, Asahina. I am not giving up."
"…"
"No matter how long it would take…I'll solve it make sure the culprit is identified and jailed."
"But…what if…?"
"Do not be discouraged, Asahina-san. I'm sure your younger brother will get justice."
"You're…right…"
"Do not feel sad. I'll see to it that this case will be resolved."
"…"
Kirigiri comforted Aoi, as she wondered if her words would be enough to keep Aoi from sinking into despair as the case has been dragging on for several weeks and that as of now she hasn't found any breakthrough yet, and wondered if her efforts are bearing fruit as she is sure that Enoshima is the culprit yet she managed to stay clean.
The teen detective decided to try harder and see if she overlooked some vital clue and hoped that it would lead to a breakthrough and lead her to the true culprit of this murder case.

Another few days passed, and the scene shifts at a park, where Naegi is sitting on a bench, as he wondered how things are going as he heard that the investigation on the Yuta Asahina case is still ongoing, and that Aoi is starting to lose patience on the progress of the investigation, and Naegi wished that there is something he could do to find a way to flush the culprit out in the open.
His musing is interrupted when Kirigiri passed by, and for some reason she felt annoyed, as she had a feeling that he is still hanging out with Enoshima, and she approached him, asking him what he is doing at the moment, which he said that he is given a schedule on when to do part-time modeling photoshoots, and the teen detective stared in disbelief at hearing this.
She asked him what is he thinking and why would he do something like that, and Naegi defended himself, saying that so far Enoshima is not guilty of anything, and until there is proof that she is the culprit, he doesn't see anything wrong hanging out with her, which annoyed Kirigiri to a degree as she feels that he is too oblivious to the facts.
"Just like that, Naegi-kun?"
"Huh?"
"Do you realized that…"
"Hold on…we don't know yet if Enoshima-san is the suspect…"
"What if she is…?"
"You shouldn't jump to conclusions…!"
"You must realize that what you're doing is foolish, Naegi-kun!"
"I'm not!"
Kirigiri told Naegi that what he is doing is quite dangerous, and even said that she has a feeling that Enoshima is seducing him to lower his guard and there's a possibility that Enoshima, if she is the killer, might use this opportunity to make her move, but Naegi defended himself and said that he doesn't see any indication that Enoshima is the culprit, and that so far she is behaving herself and showed no signs of being homicidal.
This didn't sit well with Kirigiri and this caused her and Naegi to argue.
"Why did you accept the part-time job as a model?"
"Why not? Enoshima said I would be paid."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes!"
"What if she is…"
"You can't just accuse her of…"
"You're hopeless!"
"What?"
Feeling annoyed and frustrated, Kirigiri walked off, and Naegi followed her as the two continued to bicker and their walking led them towards the streets as the two kept on arguing, which they failed to notice that several passerby are watching them, and the passerby believed that the two tens are a couple and are rather bemused to see a portrayed LOVERS' QUAREL, and noted that the two teens looked somewhat cute.
"Oh my…"
"Look at that…"
"Must be a couple having a fight…"
"They look so cute…"
"I'm sure they will patch up…"
"Ah, the youth…"
"I wish I was a teenager again…"
"Me too…"
Kirigiri and Naegi kept on arguing until they reached her home, and as Kirigiri went inside and intend to slam the door, Naegi got in, closed the door and pinned her against the wall, telling her that she is jumping to conclusions and he shouldn't suspect Enoshima of being the culprit unless concrete evidence is presented, and she shouldn't judge her like that until the evidence prove it.
Kirigiri blushed as Naegi is close to her, and she tells him to let go and not pin her like this, but Naegi tells her she should calm down and not get paranoid, which made her feel pissed and tells him he is paranoid because he hang out with Enoshima and she suspected that it is because of Enoshima's PAIR OF BIG KNOCKERS, which the teen boy blushed.
He rebutted and said he did not hang out with Enoshima because of that, but Kirigiri appeared to be jealous for some reason, and tells him he shouldn't get smitten over someone with a SEXY BODY, which made Naegi blush even more and asked Kirigiri if she is getting insecure over Enoshima, something that Kirigiri refused to acknowledge and thus she promptly deny the accusation.
"What?"
"You heard me, Kirigiri-san…"
"…"
"Are you insecure over Enoshima-san?"
"I…I'm not!"
"Looks to me that you are!"
"I'm not! Now let go of me, you lecher!"
"I'm not a lecher!"
Naegi wasn't convinced and tells her to lighten up and not get overly worked up on the case she is investigating, which she rebuked him, reasoning that it is her job as a detective to keep on with the investigation, and she tells him that he should keep his HORMONES in check as she a feeling that Enoshima might end up SEDUCING him.
This made Naegi blushed even more and tells her to knock it off, which she refuses and tells him that he needs to distance himself from Enoshima if he wants to stay safe from danger, which made the boy twitch his eye in annoyance.
He tells her he can't do that, but she said that it's up to him if he wants to end up becoming someone's next SEX TOY.
"W-what…?"
"You heard me, Naegi!"
"…"
"Are you a SEX TOY to that woman?"
"No…you're…"
"Then what?"
"…"
"…"
The two teens stared at each other, seemingly running out of ideas to rebut one another, and after a minute, Naegi gently kissed her on the lips, surprising the teen detective, but for some reason she couldn't bring herself to lash out at him and ended up reciprocating the gesture, and as the two teens kissed, it slowly turned passionate which made the two feel oblivious at what they are doing.

At a photo studio, Enoshima is having a talk with someone on her smartphone and it appeared that she is making arrangements, as it turns out that she is attending a disco bar, where only couples are allowed to attend, and the teen fashion diva is talking to the manager into giving her some special discount, and the manager said he would, just this once.
Enoshima grinned and thanked the manager of the GENEROSITY, which he said it is fine since she helped him before, and thanks to her his disco pub is getting a lot of customers and his business flourished since then.
"Sure! You'll get a BIG discount!"
"Really?"
"Yup! Just for you!"
"Thanks!"
"No problem! You helped me before…so I'm paying you back!"
"I appreciate it…"
"Hey, thanks to you, my pub is flourishing! So now you get to enjoy!"
"Upu-pu-pu…"
After that, Enoshima finished the call and resumed her photoshoot, which the magazine editor tells her that he is scheduling the next shoot in four days, but Enoshima asked him to reschedule it, saying that she has an ENGAGEMENT at that day, and the magazine editor said that can be arranged, which she smiled and thanked him, promising that she will fulfill her contractual obligation and promised that his magazine will sell a lot by next month.
"Really?"
"Yup."
"That sounds, reassuring, Enoshima."
"Of course."
"Thanks!"
"Sure."
"Now then…"
"Hmm…?"
The magazine editor then asked Enoshima if she could bring Naegi next time, as he is interested in having him do a photoshoot for the magazine, and the fashion diva smiled and said that it won't be a problem as she will talk to Naegi and ask him if he can do it, reasoning that Naegi's schedule is FLEXIBLE, and the magazine editor smiled and thanked her.
Enoshima nodded and said that it is nothing and that everything is cool.
"Really? Then naegi would be available"
"Yup. Just leave it to me."
"That sounds, reassuring, Enoshima."
"Of course. You know me"
"Thanks!"
"Sure."
"Now then…"
"Anything else…?"

Hope you liked this chapter, as things are back to normal as usual…with Kirigiri doing investigation while Enoshima is doing her modeling job…but then certain events are at work that would lead to the next arc…as Enoshima arranges to have a date at a disco pub…
Naegi, on the other hand…is having some…ISSUES…with Kirigiri…which led to a…MOMENT…
