I have this messed up feeling in my gut telling me I'm missing something about my own life.
It really does bother me, I'm on good terms with the Mikaelsons, I'm completely over Elena and seeing her and my brother don't make me physically ill anymore, I've focused on my life and my friendships, Caroline is my best friend and Bonnie actually understands me outside of being Elena's protective ex, Tyler and I have been getting along more lately, I was able to sympathize with his anger towards Caroline and helped him with that, me and Damon were doing well, so what could be bothering me so much.
I call Klaus and wait for him to pick up,
"Ah Stefan, how kind of you to call, to what do I owe the pleasure"
"Did you leave any memories out when you compelled me" I asked
"I don't lea-" Klaus seemed to cut himself off, "What" I demanded pleadingly
"I only removed the compulsion I did without your permission" I swallowed but heard his honesty in the tone of his Voice.
"I want it back, I don't care what it is, or why I had it removed from memory, I need to feel whole again."
"Okay, I can stop my the boarding house and give them back" Klaus agrees but he tone suggests I reconsider.
Klaus tapped my Cheek as I slept to wake me up.
"Nik" "Remember everything I compelled away, one by one as you sleep, you will not hesitate to call me or get your ass to New Orleans if you need me"
"Thank you Nik" Klaus Smiled at me "my pleasure Rippah" I smile slightly, I've given up on him not calling me that.
He leaves and I drift to sleep only to be pulled into a memory
Mystic falls 1855
An 8 year old Stefan was being chased by 16 year old Wanda Salvatore, "Staticque" she muttered and his feet were planted to the ground, "no fair Wans, momma said no magic while we play" Young Stefan complained,
Wanda's eyes sprinkled with mirth, "fratillino relax father isn't here, mother loves when we use magic". Stefan knew it was true
"Yes Wanda that's correct but can you release your brother he hasn't learned that yet". Lily Salvatore asked, both her kids hurdles at her "hi mother".
"Now do you remember our rules on magic"
"No magic in the house or on the property, especially if father is home". Stefan and Wanda droned, "perfect now Stefan show me what you've practiced".
Stefan lifted his hand and muttered words in a language lily can't identify and Flowers grow, a dead tree comes to life and Lily looks at her son impressed. "Very good Stefan, Wanda take your brother inside and get him cleaned up "yes mother"
I shot up and then all my knowledge of magic he doesn't remember having make sense, he was a witch...
Was that why he didn't remember Wanda as well as Damon did, because most of it had to do with magic.
I made my way downstairs and see Damon talking to Bonnie and Caroline who look less than happy talking to him.
"Hey girls, whatcha up to" Both Bonnie and Caroline hug him desperately "thank you for saving us from talking to Damon" Caroline playfully whines Bonnie agrees, "oh the horror" I joke back.
Caroline and Bonnie sit on either side of me while we watch a movie, "Klaus compelled back all my memories but to only come in my dreams" Bonnie and Caroline look at him shocked,
"What did you see" Caroline asked curiously
"My mom and My sister" Caroline and Bonnie glance at each other "sister?" Stefan smiled "her name was Wanda, she was a very powerful witch" Bonnie looked at him shocked "Magic is hereditary" Stefan nods "it's a weird family Magic thing only those with the purest heart get our kind of Magic and sometimes it skips generations" Stefan explains
"Why did that memory get erased" Bonnie asked "most of my memories of my sister are missing"
"Why"
"Because my theory is that most of my memories of her are about Magic and Damon didn't have Magic so."
"What happened in your dream"
"Why don't I show you" Stefan put his hands on either side of their heads
"Omg Stefan you were adorable"
"Wait that level of Magic is impressive for an adult let alone an 8 year old"
Stefan smiled slightly at his friends "god I love you two" both girls smiled
"Hey can we talk" Elena said looking in Stefan's eyes, both his friends stiffened "sure"
"Alone" Caroline was ready to protest but Bonnie grabbed her hand and they were out.
"What do you want Elena"
"Are you trying to hurt me" Stefan sighed "what"
"Well you're stealing my friends and befriending people who tried to kill me"
"Elena who I am and am not friends with has nothing to do with you, it never has, it never will"
"Why are you turning Bonnie and Caroline against me"
"If they are "turning against you" that is on you we never talk about you because our friendship doesn't revolve around you our lives don't revolve around you, I am truly sorry if I hurt you but if you believe that is the man I am then you never truly gave a damn about me"
Elena left the room with tears in her eyes.
"Stefan are you okay" Caroline asks
"Yes but remember our pact no Elena talk, plus I'm over her"
"I for one am proud of him, right Care"
"Of course"
