Chapter 60: Away, Away Part 1

You know those times that you can't exactly sleep well?

There can be many reasons behind this problem. One could be feeling uncomfortable on what you're exactly lying on. Two could be the temperature that it's either too hot or cold to sleep through. Trying to rest from bad experiences on previous night. Or there's the fact that you're experiencing a nightmare.

Neither of these were the case for Rachel Roth as she felt uneasy in her sleep.

The half demon recently woke up as she felt a strange, unusual feeling in the air. She didn't know why this was the case and what caused it. Rachel somewhat thought it was nothing as she tried going back to sleep.

The young ward instinctively rubbed her eyes to get rid of built up crusts and goo made in her sleep. As she did, Rachel felt tears down her cheeks. 'Was I crying in my sleep again?'

It was when she noticed her electric alarm clock being off, showing that the power was out.

"Hope that was recent," she muttered with a small groan. "Or else things are not going to go well later."

The ashen-skinned child often got up early on most mornings to go use the nearby bathroom before starting her day. Despite her… heritage, Rachel doesn't see in the dark all that well so requires light when using the bathroom. Especially since it doesn't have any natural light coming into the space.

Her mind then drifted towards the kitchen, more importantly the refrigerator.

She wasn't all that knowledgeable in that specific kitchen appliance nor how it actually works. But she did know that if power is shut off from it for too long, all of the perishable food inside will spoil.

This happened to Harley and the Crock family when power went out in their block over one weekend when both parties were gone from their homes. When they got back, they found this out the hard way and things weren't apparently pretty, as to what Artemis told her of the experience.

'If the power came back soon, then things might be alright.' She thought, shifting in her bed. 'If not, then who knows what'll get spoiled.' The spellcaster in the loft let out a sigh. 'Should probably cast a cooling spell to hold it out long enough, just in case.'

Wanting to take care of this problem quickly, Rachel grudgingly lifted up the covers before prying herself off the mattress. Her bare feet met against the carpet as she made her way out of her bedroom and headed straight towards the kitchen.

Passing by the one hanging clock to check the time did she find something oddly amiss…

'Why isn't it working?' She wondered, carefully eyeing the 'second' hand as it wasn't moving. Even then, there wasn't a faint sound coming from the clock at all as it was stuck close to midnight. 'Are the batteries dead already? Naruto already changed it the other day.'

Stopping by the refrigerator, she checked it's contents and could tell things were still cool. For how long however, she didn't know. But with a quick cooling charm, the large appliance will last for about five or so hours before it wears off or when power came back on.

With that little task out of the way, she quietly made her way towards Naruto's and Pam's shared bedroom. Knocked for a response, only to get nothing. Grasping the handle, she cracked open the door and carefully listened if it's occupants were asleep… or having intercourse.

It was a very awkward moment of her barging into their room one night because of a nightmare. She didn't know at the time Naruto had brought up the silencing barrier around their room, making it hard for someone to know they're doing something in there. Rachel merely assumed they were asleep at this point.

So when the magic practitioner came in, she ended up seeing the pair naked and… well...

Rachel learned a valuable lesson: knock before entering at certain times.

Hearing no sounds coming from the master bedroom, Rachel opened the door wider and saw only Isis was sleeping on top of the covers.

'Where is he? Is he out patrolling tonight?' She thought, scratching her purple locks. 'As a matter of fact, where's-'

Suddenly, the door to the loft's entrance started getting unlocked, causing Rachel to momentarily be on guard. But she was able to put these worries to rest when the doorway opened to reveal…

"Selina… Pam…"

Both Red and Green champions turned their heads over to see Rachel looking at them from the master bedroom.

"Rachel, what are you still doing up this late?" Asked the changed botanist.

"Couldn't sleep well." Responded the child. "Or something…"

"Something?" Questioned the thief. "Was it another nightmare?"

Rachel shook her head as she unconsciously brought one hand up to her tear stained cheek with the other above her heart. "Can't quite say. Just felt something was off. I could feel it."

"Heh~ you're telling me." Selina commented, strolling into the loft with Pam following; who noticed the odd brief action Rachel made. "First was that freaky storm that went all coo coo earlier. And suddenly a city wide blackout."

This bit of information surprised the half-demon, looking towards Pam for confirmation.

"It's true. There's no power anywhere within the city limits." She then hummed a little. "Though I don't find it all that bad as we finally were able to see a starlit sky after so long."

"Yet there's the whole issue that anything electronic isn't working at all."

"What do you mean, Selina?"

"I mean nothing. It wasn't just the equipment connected to the city's power plant, but it hit all of the vehicles out there. I'm just lucky I had barely drove into the parking garage from the airport when my car stopped working all of a sudden. Imagine if I was still on the road."

This made Rachel rather nervous in knowing the implication of this fact. If all of the vehicles within the city suddenly stopped working, then who knows how many accidents are happening.

She hoped it was on the low numbers as with it being this late at night. Hardly anyone wants to be out driving on the roads while being at their homes instead.

Same couldn't be said for the late night workers.

"Were you able to get in touch with the others?"

"No such luck, I'm afraid. Phone is pretty much dead."

Selina pulled out her cell phone and twirled it a little with a disappointed sigh. "Me too. Tried calling you guys first when this whole thing happened."

"Luckily I ran into Selina as both of us had to walk up the stairs."

The thief let out a groan as she briefly rubbed her legs. "It was quite the workout, I tell ya. Then again, helps with me cramped in a plane for hours with me hardly moving at all."

"So you haven't gotten in touch with Harley then." Rachel guessed.

"No, but I assume she's either at Arkham for tonight or sleeping at her apartment."

"Hope it's not at Arkham." Selina said in a slightly worried tone. "With no power over there, things might end up being chaotic there with the inmates causing trouble."

"...Great now I just wanna head over there and do what I can to help stop a possible riot."

"Maybe Naruto's already over there taking care of the situation with Bruce and Dick."

"Who knows." Pam muttered out, leaning against the kitchen counter as well. "Though I do know that there was an accident on the edge of the business district where a police blimp was shot down from the sky by a bolt of lighting. Batman and Robin were there to help take care of the issue."

Hearing this was a scary thought for the other occupants in the living room. Even more so with Selina as she got off the plane almost an hour ago when the thunder storm started happening.

Now this made her worried on the people currently flying if they were shot down by lightning or not.

"We won't know the full story of it all until the power gets back on." Spoke the botanist, racking her fingers through her red hair. "For now, we just gotta-"

*Knock Knock* *Knock Knock*

The three were taken out of the conversation when they heard the knocking. But instead of it coming from the loft's entrance…

"Hello! Is anyone in there!?"

It was coming from the patio outside.

Curious on who it was, Rachel took a step towards the source. But she was stopped when Pam took hold of her shoulder and pulled her back. A silent message was made between them as the older woman would go first with her being more protective of the young ward.

Coming to the patio, she parted the curtain to see not only Batman standing there, but Robin and Batgirl as well.

'What are they doing here?' Thought the botanist, gazing at the small group outside. 'Why do the two bats look really beaten up? Something is clearly up, especially with what her appearance is screaming like right now.'

Having to play it cool, especially with Batgirl present, Pam opened up the patio door. "Batman, Robin, Batgirl. Is something the matter?"

It was Robin who spoke. "Pam, you're gonna need to sit down." His gaze soon shifted to Rachel and Selina in the background. "You two as well."

Hearing this made the three non-costumed people feel worried. They could possibly be used to hearing this coming from Batman, but hearing this from Robin seemed to make it feel worse.

"Stop beating around the bush." Voiced Selina, clearly not liking the tone and feel Robin presented. "What the hell is going on?"

Neither Batman or Robin could speak as Batgirl spoke in a strained voice. "It's… It's Naruto." Cue instant attention coming from Pam, Selina and Rachel. "He's… He's gone…"

This threw them off completely, causing Selina to voice their shared thought. "...The hell you mean he's gone?"

The three females saw the costumed redhead shed tears starting to stream down her damaged cowl.

"Va-Vanitas… Naruto and I… W-We were investigating a case at the tower owned by Maximillian Shipping." Batgirl began, causing Rachel, Pam and Selina to realize she finally knew Naruto's heroic identity at this point. "Heartless were present and we fought them off before Batman showed up. And then… And then…"

"And then what?" Pam pressured, wanting to know what exactly happened to the father of her daughters.

Seeing Batgirl in distress, Robin spoke up. "From what these two told me after we met up, they encountered Maximillian Zeus at the top of his tower. They, along with… Naruto, tried to stop him from firing a stolen military weapon in order to save one of Max's employees." The Boy Wonder let out a defeated sigh. "They failed and something happened."

"What exactly happened?" Rachel questioned, pressing for information further.

It was Batman's turn to speak as he went into detail on what occurred, not shying and avoiding the specifics. That Maximillian was merely a pawn, controlled by the mystical artifact he wore which bore the soul of the Grecian God of Thunder, Zeus.

The three loft residents were shocked to learn of this, causing them to wonder how that was remotely possible. But it didn't matter as the Caped Crusader continued.

Maximillian was unknowingly coerced in performing a ritual to properly revive the Grecian Skyfather. His assistant was used as a sacrifice, same went with the shipping CEO upon Zeus' return. After that, the three heroes did their best to fight against the god. But it was Naruto who did the most effort in their confrontation.

It was only then after Zeus was dealt with a blow towards his… groin (thus resulting Rachel, Selina and Pam to somewhat laugh despite the current situation) did the god retaliate by overwhelming Naruto… and plunging his Keyblade through his chest.

The loft occupants were absolutely shocked, causing them to shed tears.

"Naruto… Naruto's dead?" Pam shakily said, clenching the cloth over her chest.

"It… It can't be…" Selina voiced, her breathing becoming shallow. "He can't…"

As for the young ward, her couldn't voice anything at all. Her body was shaking as she feared for the worst.

Her purple eyes looked over to Batgirl, whose head hung down. They soon traveled to Robin, who oddly shook his head, which oddly confused her.

KRASH-KAKOOM

In a flash of thunder, Rachel saw her reflection and visibly shook in seeing her reflection… smiling?

'Something isn't right.' Thought the half-demon, causing her to speak up as a means of distracting herself from her darkened reflection; who she felt it's blackened eyes still trained on her.

"It's… as we said." Batman stated although towards Rachel it was kinder and gentle given to who he was speaking to, "I am sorry… but he didn't die… exactly."

This got Naruto's ward and two lovers to snap their attention back at Batman and wondered what he meant by that.

The Dark Knight continued his explanation, that as both he and Batgirl did their best to fend off against Zeus. In their induced rage, neither noticed that something was happening to Naruto as he became… something else…

"It was like he was a Heartless." Batgirl muttered, hugging herself. "He was… It was so frightening."

"What do you mean?" Rachel asked, "A Heartless?" That was the no explanation she can think off. There's no way for Naruto to become a Heartless. Those things just take hearts, not real ones, but nonetheless hearts from others.

After all, from how Bruce described the fight, the Heartless were long gone from the battlefield at this point in the fight. So without their presence, Naruto wouldn't have…

'Umm… what if… what if…' Rachel racked her brain to the fullest, only to come up with nothing at all. Only a headache was present as a result.

There were only a few people can probably understand this. Jason for one, but that's the longest shot in her options right now. And the only other person she knows that probably knows of those beings is Morgan le Fay, god forbid that possible choice. Even Naruto if he was brought back with her powers would punish her for doing that. Not out of anger… okay maybe a bit but mostly out of her own good for making a deal with the witch.

But then again, she doesn't know where she is located and how to even get in contact with Camelot's ancient witch.

Rachel was knocked out of her thoughts as Batman continued the tale.

She'll work on this later, there has to be someone who can help.

From what Batman described, the fight quickly became one sided as the Heartless-Naruto beaten up Zeus and tore him up like a ragdoll. The creature was really powerful and Batgirl could only do was sit back and watch as Batman was down for the count.

It was at one point when Zeus seemed defeated was that Batgirl was able to muster as much strength as she could to stop Naruto from his darkened madness.

And only then was Naruto able to return to normal.

"He lives?"

Batman could only sigh, leaning against the kitchen counter. His eyes heavily looked towards the floor, not wanting to make contact with the others.

"Naruto was able to defeat Zeus. Killed him actually." Batman struggled out as he didn't like how his friend did such a thing, despite their opponents being a god that wanted to kill them for defiling him. "But something happened when all things were said and done."

Not wanting to beat around the bush, Selina spoke up. "What happened?"

Batgirl swallowed a lump in her throat, clenching her cowl. Pulling her head up, she unintentionally pried off her mask.

"Darkness…" Barbara struggled out, gaining their attention as the three females and Robin saw the exposed face of the Commissioner's daughter. "Naruto passed out and he was swallowed up by this dark pool-"

"And you couldn't at least try to reach him?" Pam breathe out heavily, as Rachel gave a look of concern towards her; seeing her green eyes glowing in a sinister glow.

'Is she… angry?' she thought as this was one of the few times she had seen Pam really losing it compared to the time she had witnessed her moods.

"Didn't you think we tried! What I tried!" Barbara yelled out. "I wanted to save him and-"

"Look out!" Robin pulled the new ally of his to his side when some of the plants almost grab her that were sitting nearby. "Hey, watch it!" He shouted as the botanist's upper body was now shaking in the very definition of raw angry.

"Do you know how much he means to me!? To us!?" Pam spoke out, clear that her darker side was taking full reigns at this point. And to put more emphasis to the point, a dark aura seemed to emanate off her form that unsettled the others.

"Pam." The thief said softly, moving her head to Rachel who was slightly scared at the sight of Pam's darkness coming out. "As much as I want to give Bats and his friends a good punch… if Naruto is really gone, not that I am going to believe for a second," She quickly added to appease her friend and lessen Rachel's fears. "But we need to keep calm… if we're going to find a way to bring him back."

Pam… no Ivy weighed her options as she listened to her lighter side to agree with the thief beside her.

Before anything else could be done, footsteps were quickly heard. Looking over, they -along with the three costumed people- saw Rachel run up the steps and head towards her bedroom.

Quickly concerned, the Green champion snapped out of her anger and ran after Rachel.

"Rachel!?" Pam losing her angry as fear took place as she wonders if her anger cause Naruto's ward to affect her negatively. "Rachel!?"

The neighboring bedroom door creaked open as Thorn stepped out with a tired, yet confused look appearing on her features.

"Mama?" Spoke the eldest sporeling. "Is something wrong?"

Pam was silent as she didn't know how to properly respond at the current time. And it didn't help when her other two daughters came walking towards them from their bed; clearly shown they were awake at this point.

"Please, go back to bed sweeties." Pam urged, still upset on what's happening right now.

Unsure on what's going on, the sporelings reluctantly decided to go back… after going to use the restroom.

"Why are the light's out?" Rose asked, flipping the lightswitch several times.

"Quit that." Hazel said, smacking her younger sister's hand away. "Flipping it continuously isn't gonna make it turn on faster."

"Doesn't hurt to try."

"Can you stop that, please?" Thorne pleaded. "I can't pee faster with you-"

Pam ignored her daughters little argument and entered Rachel's bedroom and saw her rummaging through her desk.

"Rachel… I didn't mean to scare-"

"It's not that!" She said turning back to look at Pam, slightly less worried than she was a while ago. "Well a little bit, but I have do this!"

"Rachel, what are you doing?" Pam questioned, walking into the bedroom with worry.

"Getting in contact with someone that can help." Came the half demon's quick response. Pulling out a scroll, she unfurled it and scanned through the written contents. "Okay, so I do have some of the stuff here in my room and the kitchen. Others though…"

Rachel quickly pulled out a notepad and started writing down various items. Once done, she handed the list to Pam.

"I need you to grab those from your Garden. If not, then grow what you can't get from here."

Looking through, Pam voiced a few. "Mace… hemlock… Rachel most of these are extremely rare and deadly-"

"I know, but I need them now."

"Rachel-"

"I know someone we can ask to see if Naruto is really dead or not." She said, as she saw that Pam reaction was all she needed to see to get a positive result.

Diving towards her closet as Pam got out of the room, Rachel pulled out a black cloth, a white spray can, a brass bowl and several black candles among other small items. Rushing out, she made her way downstairs and went directly towards the kitchen.

"Rachel?" Selina began. "What are you-"

"Selina, Barbara, Dick, Bruce," Rachel said, laying out her items on the counter before getting into the cabinets. "I need you guys to go into the refrigerator and make some sandwiches."

"D-Did she just told us to make her sandwiches?" Robin said before being pushed out of the room by Pam, "Did she really just ask us to-" he said again before his voice was no longer heard.

With Barbara, she looked over with confused, widened eyes in seeing Batman and Robin. "Did she say… Dick and Bruce?" Robin stiffened, while Bruce let out a tired sigh. "As in Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne?"

The masked Grayson groaned before giving Barbara an awkward smile. "Heeeeey~"

Barbara then turned her attention towards the upstairs, seeing some of the sporelings making their way back to their bedroom. "And did one of them call Pam mama?"

Selina shifted her eyes back and forth a little at this. "...We've gotta get you caught up-"

"Are you guys still standing around and doing nothing?!" Rachel spoke up with several bottles in her arms. "I said make some sandwiches!"

Not wanting to anger the ashen-skinned child, Batman, Robin and Barbara did as they were oddly commanded. And Selina didn't take long to join them.

The lot made several sandwiches, whether they were PB&J's or deli, before putting them to the side. As for Pam, she stood by the patio window as she held out her hands with various plants growing before her. Once plucking the desired ones from Rachel's list, she walked over to the kitchen counter to hand them over to the young girl.

As this occurred, Rachel straightened out the black cloth and spray painted it in an intricate design that she copied from her opened scroll beside her. Once done, she used a Fire spell to light up the candles. Grabbing her other ingredients, she ground them all up into the brass bowl.

With everything set, Rachel pulled off the Ankh around her neck, placed it into the bowl, took out a kitchen knife and slit the palm of her hand-

"What the hell are you doing!?/Are you out of your mind!?" Selina and Pam spoke out in worry.

"Will you guys be quiet? I need to concentrate."

Clasping her bleeding hand, she let several drops of blood fall into the brass bowl. Once done, she casted a small Cure spell to heal up her hand. And after casting another Fire spell directly into the bowl's contents, Rachel chanted something that echoed throughout the loft.

"Te nunc invoco, mortem. Te in mea potestate defixi. Nunc et in aeternum."

The loft's occupants didn't know what was going on as neither really knew what was supposed to happen. One of them was about to speak up when a new voice made itself known by the couches behind them.

Turning towards the source, the group now saw a pale white-skinned woman sitting, in rather expensive looking chair, wearing a business suit as if she was in office job.

"-Okay so my decision is that your request for this position is… aw hell..." Rachel smile made Didi soon lose her disgruntled frown before greeting the young ward. "Hey Rae-Rae."

"Hello."

The new arrival soon let out a small sigh, rubbing her forehead a little. 'Oh of all the times to be summoned, Rachel had done it when I had to give her an interview. She's going to use this to get the job. So much guilt tripping for this..." Thought the gothic woman shaking her head before something caught her eye. "Ooh sandwiches~!" she said, getting up, walked past them and grasping a particular yummy black Forest ham sandwich with lettuce and mayo. "Okay, you fed me, so you get a freebie upon my summon…" Didi said slightly talking/eating as she saw the room full of people. "...If you were older, I would think this would be a nightly kinda 'fun' party." She said to Rachel with a small smile and wink to the adults before realizing that was not a good joke given how the women were glaring at her.

"Rachel… Who is this?" Batman asked not the least bit surprised of the magical summoning of the woman.

With his line of work, it's something he'll need to get used to. After all, Zatanna's been doing such a thing lately whenever she visits out of the blue. Even when he was visited by the Phantom Stranger back on New Years.

"Didi," Rachel quickly introducing the woman towards Batman, Robin and Barbara not really helping on identifying them who she was exactly.

Batman looked over to the older women, seeing their looks as they clearly knew who this new arrival was. And suffice to say, their expressions were more than weary with beads of sweat dripping down their faces.

"Hey…" she said before going for another deli sandwich, "Mmh, ohh glazed ham~" she said eating it quickly. The gothic woman then noticed how the room was dead quiet, "What?"

"Didi, it's about Naruto." Rachel started as the woman nodded and grabbed another snack, before lifting her free hand to spin the hand to tell her to go on. "We fear that he might have died…"

"..." Didi only stop in mid bite as her face became no longer enjoying the visit, now placing the small remain of her current (fifth sandwich), "Okay, run that by me again."

Pam was the one to speak up this time. "My Lady, is Naruto-"

"Is Naruto dead?" Selina finished, barely containing her nervousness.

Tossing the last of her current sandwich into her mouth, Death answered. "Oh he ain't dead. That's for sure."

"Oh thank you." Rachel smiled as if the world didn't end at the moment Didi gave her words. Even Naruto's two lovers breathed out a heavy sigh of relief. And as for the costumed threesome, they oddly felt a weight being lifted off their bodies while still confused as ever.

"But he ain't here in this world either." Didi cryptically said as she licked off the PB&J off her fingers.

…..

…..

…..

"I'm sorry, but what?"

"Does he know… they know... who I am, I mean." Didi pointed at the Dark Knight before the Boy Wonder and Barbara as she finished the next sandwich. "Judging by their looks, highly doubt it." The gothic woman gave a mock glare to the young child. "For shame Rae-Rae, not letting them know who I am beforehand." She then released a pained groan. "Now they're gonna be scared stiffless like what you and Naruto went through back on my holiday."

"No… I'm afraid not." The costumed billionaire stated as Didi nodded and walked toward him, giving her hand to him.

"My name is Didi… but as little Rachel, Pamela and Selina knows me as something else… Someone else." She said with a smug look, "Bruce." She smiled as she got her reaction as his, Robin's and Barbara's eyes to widen, "Ooh, now you're wondering how do I know? Do I need to give you a hint or two as to who I am." She tilted her head a little. "Maybe I should as-"

"Didi is… uhh…" Pam tried to find the appropriate words to ease the costumed trio into believing what they know on her real identity.

"Death…" Rachel simply said as both Robin and Barbara smiled at her answer… before it got very silent. "She is Death personified, literally."

…..

…..

…..

"...I'm sorry, but what did you say?" Barbara said, shivers crawling up and down her spine.

"You're pulling our legs here." Dick said in a joking tone. "Like your Death."

Didi looked at the Boy Wonder and Dark Knight, seeing their looks of disbelief. Snorting a little, she spoke. "I believe a little demonstration might be in order."

"Didi," Pamela began in knowing what was going to happen, "I think that's unnecessary."

Death ignored the Green champion, walked towards the masked Grayson and bopped his nose.

"What was that supposed to-"

"Dick."

"What?"

Acting quickly, Barbara pulled out a compact mirror from her utility belt and had the mirror presented. There Dick was able to see his reflection, which caused him to jump in his spot.

"The hell!?"

In this moment, he was able to see black veins quickly forming from the center of his nose towards all over his body. He even felt it all in an insect-like crawl with his very Life being drained from him. And after several seconds, they receded and faded away before Dick's widened gaze shifted back to the woman standing next to him.

"Believe me now?"

Robin could only nod in absolute shock.

Despite having a somewhat calm facade, Bruce was deeply concerned and scared on what happened to his ward and protege. Even the others in the loft shared the same feelings in various degrees.

"Seriously, Didi, why'd you do that?"

"Seeing is believing, Rachel." Responded the Endless. "Even if others can't do so right away." Her blackened eyes shifted onto the Dynamic Duo. "Would you like another?"

"I don't think so." Batman responded.

"...If you say so. By the way, it's great to see you again Bats. Glad to see your will to live is still kicking."

"I th-thought Death was skeleton dude with scythe." Dick said with a horrified look, still shaken up from the earlier demonstration.

"First off, blame the English and Germans for making me look skeletal or gaunty. And second, that's Grimm, Richard." Didi lean in with a small smile; clearly amused in seeing the young Grayson's expression. "One of my oldest employees. Although he hasn't checked in lately. I think he lost a bet..." she said with slight wonder on one of her oldest workers.

"Didi… About Naruto..."

"Oh, right." Forming a satchel by her side, Death started piling the food into it. "You lot are wondering where he's at?" Each mortal nodded. "He's where he's supposed to be, as to what my older brother says."

"..."

"What the heck is that supposed to mean?"

"How is that supposed to help us know where Naruto is?"

"Is this one of those weird cryptic nonsense messages we have to figure out?" Robin asked in annoyance.

Didi grinned approvingly. "Yup. Though I do wish I could tell you guys."

"Well why can't you tell us then?" Selina asked frustratedly.

"Gotta abide by certain laws of the universe I'm afraid." Didi admitted apologetically. "It's a bit complicated but once you figure it out, it's free game."

Didi was met with silent confusion, with Barabara speaking for them. "Huh?"

"Oh come on, you guys seriously weren't paying attention to anything I said?" Didi asked exasperatedly.

It took several moments of silent contemplation until Batman spoke up. "You said something about him no longer being on this world."

"And the World's Greatest Detective gets it." Didi applauded. "Yeah, he's off world right now somewhere out in the cosmos."

Didi was once again met with a beat of silence from the others when Pam, Robin, Batgirl and Selina collectively cried out.

"WHAT?!"

Didi cringed, rubbing her ear. "Jeez you guys, not so loud. I'm right here."

"Oh I'm sorry." Batgirl remarked. "We're just having a bit of a difficult time in processing what you just insinuated."

"Off world?" Selina repeated. "How can that-"

"I didn't insinuate." Didi cut Selina off, crossing her arms. "I spelled it out for ya. He's not on Earth right now. Well not this version of Earth at least; it's complicated."

"I have a feeling we're gonna be hearing a lot of that for the next few minutes." Robin deadpanned.

"Heh, you wouldn't be wrong, Richard." Didi sheepishly admitted, making the Boy Wonder shiver a little upon hearing his name coming from her lips.

"Ok, pause." Batgirl spoke up, spinning her hands around one another. "Let's just dial it back here a moment. So, to be clear, Naruto is on another world right now, yes?"

Didi hummed in confirmation, chomping down on yet another sandwich.

"And you know where said world is?"

Didi momentarily scrunched her face up and looked out the window into the skies. "I do now."

A wave of relief washed over everyone in the loft, a hopeful Barbara looking up to Didi. "So that means you can bring him back, right?"

"Nope."

"..."

"..."

"WHAT?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO?!" Was the collective shout of the women save for Rachel.

"Sorry girls, but that's just the way it is." Didi said with honest regret. "I can't bring Naruto back home until it is time or he makes it back on his own."

"OH that is just such typical bullshit." Selina growled. "Why can't it ever be simple, just once?"

"Well if you want someone to blame, blame my older brother for not letting Naruto come back right away. If it were up to me, I would've brought him here in a heartbeat."

The loft residents took a moment to realize who Death was referring to, but as for the others… not so much.

"You have an older brother?" Dick questioned.

"She has six other siblings." Rachel stated, making the costumed trio become more confused than ever. "I'll explain to you three later, but for now…" turning her attention towards Didi, the half-demon spoke. "What does Destiny have to do with Naruto?"

"Ah, Destiny." Didi said with dry expectancy. "Well, Destiny is always a fickle thing really. Both as a concept and as a person. It's a double edged sword so I can't really clarify it properly."

"So try at least." Batman encouraged.

"Ok." Didi exhaled, focusing up her thoughts. "So, here's the thing…"

-Unknown Location-

You know those times that you can't exactly sleep well?

There can be many reasons behind this problem. One could be feeling uncomfortable on what you're exactly lying on. Two could be the temperature that it's either too hot or cold to sleep through. Trying to rest from bad experiences on previous night. Or there's the fact that you're experiencing a nightmare.

It was a mixture of these for Naruto at the present time; from the unpleasant heat, the uncomfortable surface he laid on and memories flooding back to him of what happened prior to passing out.

"Oh man." Groaned out the silver haired knucklehead, blearily opening his eyes. "Did someone get the name of the lightning bolts license plate that hit me?"

With things somewhat focusing in his senses, the Uzumaki felt water splashing onto his legs. He then felt a grainy texture across his exposed flesh. The sound of soft waves crashing against his ears. And upon taking in a deep breath, Naruto smelled salty, fresh air.

Clenching his hand, Naruto felt minerals seep through his fingers.

Slowly, his senses began to come to with his vision and hearing clearing up.

With a forceful grunt, Naruto sat up with all his might groaning in pain and relief at hearing his bones popping from every joint.

Squinting his eyes from the bright ray of light beating down on him, Naruto came face to face with a vast expanse of water that appeared to go on without end.

"What the?"

Naruto rubbed his eyes in order to make sure he wasn't seeing things.

"...Where the hell am I?" Naruto voiced, turning his head at every other direction. "Why the hell am I on a beach?"

Before he could voice anything else, he soon felt an odd series of pecks coming onto his arm.

*BOK* *BOK* *PECK PECK* *BOK* *BOK* *PECK PECK*

Looking over, the whiskered Uzumaki saw an interesting creature. It wasn't alien to him at all, but it was quite odd with why it was here.

At his side appeared to be a big eyed, malnourished rooster.

'Those are not natural.' He thought, staring at the large eyes. "Hey… Can ya stop doing that?"

The rooster twitched its head from side to side, getting a look at Naruto with both eyes.

*BOK*

"...Right." Naruto rolled his eyes. "That's totally helpful."

*PECK PECK*.

Naruto felt his brow twitch violently at the rooster's sudden need to pick at his temple. Without looking up at the bird, he grabbed its head and spun it around to face the opposite direction.

Leaning his arms on his knees, Naruto sighed, a feeling of exhaustion creeping over him when…

*PECK PECK*.

"Quit it."

The rooster ignored him and continued with what it was doing.

Groaning, Naruto decided enough was enough. He pried himself off the sand, slowly stood up and glared at the malnourished bird.

Even when standing up, the rooster kept pecking at him; this time at his foot.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Naruto murmured, moving his foot away from the rooster only for it to follow after it.

And it was only then did he notice something else was off; traveling upwards from his foot.

"Wait, my clothes… The hell happened?"

He didn't realize this before, but his attire was a total wreck. And Naruto wasn't in his Vanitas attire at all, merely in his casual attire he wore underneath his conjured body suit prior to going to the business tower owned by Maximillian Shipping.

The Uzumaki didn't know how this was possible with his outfit being in shredded shambles in various places. His shoes were barely holding together and his khaki pants now resembled long shorts with various cuts at every other place. His shirt was beyond wrecked with a large, gaping hole present above his heart and there was no doubt a matching one was at his back.

All in all, Naruto resembled the early stage of a castaway person.

'Wonder if this was what Oliver looked like when he landed on that island in the North China Sea.' He thought before scrunching his face. 'But how the hell did these get wrecked-'

Before inspecting himself any further, Naruto noticed something odd with not just the nearby rocks but the surrounding ones.

"Why are there tally marks… all bunched together… to make fish hooks?" He pondered aloud, walking along the shore with the malnourished rooster following him.

Upon rounding the corner, his foot came into contact with what appeared to be a drifting clay pot. Once picking it up for a small inspection, he then noticed a trail of other pottery along the drifting shoreline which lead up to what he believed to be an upturned outrigger canoe.

"How did that get here?" Naruto thought aloud, coming closer to the roughly parked sea vessel.

As he thought of inspecting it more, his foot dug into a big pile of sand and felt something. It wasn't hard and rough as a rock, but felt fleshy?

Before the Uzumaki could have a chance of inspecting, the pile of sand started moving and caved in with something bolting out of it. With this sudden instance, Naruto quickly jumped in surprise upon seeing… a girl covered sand sticking onto both her body and clothing; making it hard to see much of her physical details.

What he could tell, she appeared to be Polonesian with a slender yet muscular build. She seemed to be in her mid-teens with her brown eyes, thick eyebrows, full brownish-pink lips and long wavy, black hair. And what he could make out of her outfit, it was a red layered crop top with seashells accessorized along the perimited. The same material as her crop top wrapped around her waist to hold up her skirt with a wide slit made down through the middle for better movement.

Said girl wheezed and coughed out sand that appeared to be trapped into her mouth.

Quickly being concerned, Naruto kneeled down and spoke up to her. "Hey, are you okay?"

Hearing the voice beside her, she unintentionally repeated Naruto's earlier action by jumping in her spot.

"Who… Who are you?" She questioned before whirling her head around in a frantic state. "Where am I?"

Right before Naruto he could give her his name, the sand covered girl quickly placed her hand around her neck. Her actions were frantic in searching for something. Yet the feeling soon died down when she grasped something. Pulling it out from the baked on sand, she revealed a blue shell-like necklace, opened it and unintentionally revealed a jade-like stone with a spiral etched onto its surface.

Seeing the item safe and sound on her person, she breathed out a sigh of relief.

"That seemed rather important." The publisher voiced out of curious concern.

"It is." She steadily said before turning back to Naruto… and tilted her head once calmed down. "I'm sorry again but who are you? And where are we?"

"Oh, right. Well I have no clue where we are, for starters." Naruto coughed before introducing himself. "As for my name, it's Naruto."

"Na…Ru…To…"

"Yes, that's it." He said as the malnourished bird started pecking at his leg again. "Okay, can you quit that."

"HEIHEI!"

"What?" Naruto moved a bit when the young teen reached out and snatched the big eyed rooster. "Who?"

*BACKAAAAA*

"Sorry." She chuckled out, petting the bird to calm it down. "This is my pet rooster, Heihei."

"Right~" Holding out his hand, the girl grasped it as Naruto helped pull her up with lots of sand coming off in the process. "Mind telling me your name then… and how you got here?"

The girl gave a brief 'thanks' before responding. "My name is Moana of Motunui. And how I got… here…"

The now identified Moana quickly turned… and stomped towards the water with a furious expression on her face.

"...Moana?"

She ignored him as her attention seemed solely focused elsewhere.

"Emm~ WHAT!?" Moana suddenly snapped. "I SAID HELP ME!"

'Is she yelling… at the ocean?' Naruto wondered.

Moana shouted kept on shouting with Naruto standing behind her with a clearly bewildered expression.

'What the hell is she on about?' He internally mused.

"-And wracking my boat? NOT HELPING ME!" The girl kicked the water, only to slip and fall on her butt all of a sudden. Naruto quickly got up to her side and helped her up. Not minding his gesture, Moana still glared at the ocean. "Fish pee and poop in you!... All day! So…"

"Are you done?"

"...Somewhat…"

"Mind telling me what that was all about? I mean, I'm at a complete loss here."

Turning around to answer him, her response quickly died in her throat. Reason: her eyes caught onto the surrounding rocks that bore tally marks resembling fish hooks.

"Maui…"

"Who?"

Moana didn't have enough time to give him a response as the pair soon heard loud footsteps. Whirling around towards the source, they saw a shadow of something moving behind some of the larger rocks.

Acting quickly, Moana quickly ran back towards the flipped over outrigger canoe -with Naruto soon following her- with her snatching Heihei and an oar stabbed into the sand. With that, the two hid behind some rocks before ending up right at the boat. And the Uzumaki summoned his Keyblade in case of anything.

"...I don't think this is a good hiding spot, Moana." Addressed the publisher in a whisper. "And you still haven't told me- you're not listening to me, are you?"

Indeed she wasn't as Moana was reciting something under her breath. All Naruto could make out was her saying her name, her home and boarding her boat… for some reason.

She was so distracted by this… thing of hers that she didn't realize the person they were hiding from just barely walked past the large rocks to reveal itself.

It appeared to be a large Polonesian man with shoulder length curly hair, wearing nothing but a traditional grass skirt, a necklace full of decorated teeth and tattoo's covering almost everything from the neck down.

Grasping Moana's arm with his free hand, Naruto spoke. "We need to move-"

"A boat!" Cheered the large man, surprising Naruto and Moana. Before they could exactly move, the outrigger canoe was lifted off the ground to show the curly haired man holding it up with just one arm. "A boat! The gods have given me a second-"

The new arrival then took notice of Naruto and Moana before giving out the biggest… not so manly shriek, dropping the boat upon them.

Acting quickly, with Naruto's hand still grasping Moana's arm, the publisher dashed out of the way so neither of them would be crushed by the sea vessel's weight. Of course in the process, Heihei slipped out of the teenager's grasp and was buried underneath the boat.

"Thanks." Moana breathed out.

"You're welcome."

It was then she noticed the weapon in his hand. "What's that?"

"I'll explain later." Was his response, nudging his head towards the side soon after.

Getting the message, Moana moved alongside Naruto right behind the large man as he was distracted by lifting up the boat once more. There they saw Heihei's head pop out of the sand, whirling his head all over in confusion.

Wanting to gain his attention, Moana raised her oar and cleared her throat.

Upon hearing a noise behind him, the large man whirled around with the boat in his palm; prompting Moana and Naruto to duck from getting hit. Once back up, the pair saw him give them a blank stare.

Stabbing her oar into the sand, the teenager spoke. "Maui… Shape-shifter, Demigod of The Wind and Sea," Moana began, unintentionally startling Naruto in the process.

"Wait, demigod?"

She didn't take much mind at the moment as she resumed. "I am Moana of-"

"Hero of men." The now identified Maui interrupted.

"Wh-What?"

"It's actually Maui, Shape-shifter, Demigod of the Wind and Sea, Hero of men." Corrected the demi-god. "I interrupted, from the top; Hero of men. Go"

Both Naruto and Moana raised an eyebrow upon this.

"I am Moa-"

"Sorry, Sorry! And women. Men and women. Both. All. Not a guy-girl thing" Maui began, "You know; Maui is a hero to all." He smiled with his fingers pointing at her with a click of his tongue, as if he was picking up a chick from a bar. "You're doing great."

"Wha-? No! I'm here to-"

"Oh of course, of course!" Maui smacked his forehead, gently setting the boat down, "Yes, yes, yes! Maui always has time for his fans." He took Moana's oar, then grabbed Heihei from the sand and used his beak to scribble onto the blade of the oar. "We're going to use a bird, to write with... it's called tweeting" He handed Moana back her oar before addressing Naruto. "D'you want one too, kid?" He pointed at me, studying the Keyblade. "...Don't think I could write on that though…"

"Yeah~ because I doubt Heihei's beak could carve into this."

Upon inspecting the oar, Moana saw the carved up symbols of a heart and a fish hook. Even Naruto saw this as well. Unimpressed, they blandly looked at Maui who was leaning against the boat.

"-and I know it's not every day, you get to meet your hero- Oh!" Gasped the demigod as Moana struck him in the chest with the oar. With him hunched over, Moana used the opportunity to harshly grab his ear and pulled him close.

"You are not my hero!" She growled out. "And I'm not here for you to sign my oar!" She then opened up the locket around her neck to reveal the stone placed inside, making Maui see it up close and personal. "I'm here because you stole the Heart of Te Fiti!" Closing up her locket, she continued. "And you will board my boat, sail across the sea, and put it back!" She tried to drag him over the boat.

Off to the side, Naruto pondered a little on this trying to figure out as to what he had just gotten himself into. 'Ok, demigod, girl with something about a heart that this guy stole. She was looking for him and here he is. The only question is, where in the hell am I?'

Suddenly the demigod stood up straight, dragging Moana off the ground with his head.

"Um, yeah." He sighed, prying her hand off his ear. "It almost sounded like you didn't like me. Which is impossible because I got stuck here for a thousand years, trying to give the Heart as a gift for you mortals. So you can have the power to create life itself." He looked down at us. "Yeah, so what I believe you were trying to say is... thank you."

Naruto and Moana ended up sharing a look and speaking in synch. "Thank you?"

"You're welcome!"

"What?" Moana spoke out. "No, no, I didn't- I wasn't…"

"Why would she ever say-" Naruto started, only to be interrupted when he suddenly heard… music in the air?

"Wait, where is that music coming from? Am I going insane?"

"No, I hear it too."

"Ok, ok, I see what's happening here~"

'Oh no… he's the reason! He's gonna sing!' Naruto thought with a cringy groan. 'WHY!?'

"You're face to face with greatness, and it's strange."

Maui lifts up his necklace to show off one of his tattoos, a tattooed version of the demigod, who moves and winks at Moana and waves at Naruto, who both adopted extreme shocked expressions. Maui then tosses his necklace to the side as he continued singing.

"You don't even know how you feel. It's adorable!" Maui bro-fists Mini-Maui… somehow, who shows how he moves across Maui's various tattoos.

"Well, it's nice to see that humans never change. Open your eyes, let's begin." Maui spins Moana around by her oar, sending her hair into her face. He suddenly pried the Keyblade out of Naruto's grasp, but it disappeared soon after; yet it didn't reappear in the Uzumaki's hand.

"Yes, it's really me, it's Maui: breathe it in!"

"I'd rather not." Naruto commented snarky, earning a dry look from Maui as a result. Yet the demigod got back into his singing mood rather quickly.

"I know it's a lot: the hair, the BOD!" Maui suddenly flipped his hair back before going into a few flexing poses, starting with his pecs; which Mini-Maui was sent trampolining across each one several times.

"When you're staring at a demi-god." Said man then gleefully danced around the mortals, prior to pulling Moana along with him. Naruto quickly went after them, jumping onto several of the taller rocks to catch up.

"What can I say except you're welcome~

For the tides, the sun, the sky.

Hey, it's okay, it's okay.

You're welcome~

I'm just an ordinary demi-guy.

Hey!

What has two thumbs that pulled up the sky.

When you were waddling yay high.

This guy!"

Naruto and Moana adopted looks that were between annoyed and amused. Yet with Naruto, he didn't know if the guy seemed a bit too arrogant with what he's doing exactly.

"When the nights got cold.

Who stole you fire from down below.

You're lookin' at him, yo.

Oh, also I lassoed the sun.

You're welcome!

To stretch the days and bring you fun.

Also I harnessed the breeze.

You're welcome!

To fill your sails and shake your trees."

Throughout these verses, Maui shows off his successes on his tattoos, covering his whole body. And to emphasise these feats, Mini-Maui demonstrated what the demigod actually did. Yet it was a little hard for Naruto and Moana to fully notice with Maui dancing around at every other moment.

"So what can I say except you're welcome~

For the islands I pulled from the sea.

There's no need to pray, it's okay.

You're welcome!

Ha, I guess it's just my way of being me.

You're welcome! You're welcome!"

All of a sudden, the environment around the two mortals started changing into… something else. Everything seemed to take on brighter colors as they seemed sucked into what appeared to be a tapa tapestry of some kind.

"Just to be clear, you could see this to right?"

"Yes, you're not alone."

"Good, because I don't know if I'm the only one halucinating here." He muttered while having horrible flashbacks of Might Gai and Rock Lee's infamous… Sunset no Jutsu of DOOM.

"Well, come to think of it.

Kid, honestly I can go on and on.

I can explain every natural phenomenon.

The tide, the grass, the ground; oh that was Maui just messing around.

I killed an eel, I buried its guts! Sprouted a tree, now you got coconuts!

What's the lesson?

What is the take-away?

Don't mess with Maui when he's on the break-away.

And the tapestry here on my skin.

Is a map of the victories I win.

Look where I've been.

I make everything happen.

Look at that mini-Maui just tippity-tappin'"

It's starting to look like both mortals were starting to get into Maui's song. Afterall, it was rather upbeat and quite catchy to boot. Maui even gave them a lei and a bunch of fruit as well.

"Well, anyway let me say: you're welcome~

For the wonderful world you know.

Hey, it's okay, it's okay.

You're welcome!

Well, come to think of it, I gotta go~"

That last line was rather strange to Naruto and he wasn't sure if it means what he thinks it means.

"Hey, it's your day to say you're welcome

'Cause I'm gonna need that boat."

'Wait a second,' Naruto started realizing something was no doubt off now. 'Is he-'

"I'm sailing away, away~

You're welcome!

'Cause Maui can do anything but float.

You're welcome! You're welcome!"

The brightly colored backdrop disappears, revealing the dreary rocks as Maui spins Moana and shoves Naruto inside a cave. The two then realized the lei's around their neck were seaweed and in their arms were fish carcuses.

"And thank you!"

Dropping what was in his grasp, Naruto bolted forward to tackle Maui; but was too late as a large boulder was rolled into the cave entrance. Slamming into it, Naruto tumbled onto the ground, leaving both him and Moana in the dark!

Rushing towards his side, Moana helped Naruto get up before yelling at the top of her lungs. "Let us out! You lying, slimy son of a-"

She was interrupted when Naruto started punching the boulder several times, which resulted with his knuckles bleeding.

"GAH!" He cried out, holding onto his wrist. 'Don't wanna break it.' He thought before trying to form a Rasengan in his palm. But for some reason, not a lot of power could even be mustered; only having several wisps floating off as a result. 'Must not be fully recovered from my fight against Zeus quite yet.'

Naruto then realized that even with his Keyblade, he won't break out of the boulder in time. Hell, he even figured he'd have difficulty working with his other weapons and skills for the time being.

"Hey, are you alright?" Moana asked out of worry.

"I'll be fine." He simply said, ripping off part of his ruined shirt and wrapped it around his hand. "More so once getting outta here and give Maui a piece of my mind." Turning around, he jogged further into the cave. "Come on, there must at least be another way for us to escape."

The teenager nodded, following right behind him.

It honestly didn't take them long to find a possible way out; with a source of light shone in a decent sized cavern inside of the trapped cave.

Problem was, it was essentially at the ceiling.

This would've been a problem for the pair to deal with, if it weren't for the fact they were staring at a large stone statue of Maui, posing and flexing.

Seeing this, Moana rolled her eyes while letting out a scoff. "Self-centered, much?"

"To be fair, he was marooned here for years." Naruto defended. "He had to pick up hobbies and at least do things to pass the time. And if it weren't for seeing his moving tattoo, I would've thought he'd gone insane at some point."

Grudgingly enough, Moana accepted the argument.

Nearing the stone statue, the pair climbed their way up. Once reaching the top, Naruto crouched down and cupped his hands. Getting the message, Moana walked back a bit before dashing forward. With her foot placed into his hold, Naruto threw her up into the air.

Barely bunching herself onto the opening, Moana awkwardly crawled-climbed to fully escape the cave. She then crouched down and held out her hand in order to help Naruto escape as well.

Nodding, Naruto backed up considerably along stone Maui's arm before reaching the head. Running forward, he pumped as much strength as he could before leaping into the air. He knew he wasn't gonna make it the first go around, but he landed his foot onto the stone fist before bouncing off to hit the cavern wall. And once putting in more strength into this next action, Naruto repeated his action as he shot towards and reached out for Moana's outstretched hand.

"I gotcha!" She struggled out, mustering everything she had in pulling the heavier man out of the hole.

After a few moments on both their parts, Naruto was successful and giving the younger girl a thankful nod.

Regaining their bearings, the pair rushed towards a ledge, seeing Maui rowing away on Moana's boat. And at the vessel's center was Heihei, pecking away on a pile of small nuts.

Acting rashly, Moana ran forward, ignored Naruto's warning cry, jumped into the ocean and came extremely close to the boat… only for her to earn a very painful belly flop before sinking for her troubles.

"Ohhhhhhhhhhh!" Naruto winced from the cliff. "That's gonna hurt so much later."

Without further ado, the whiskered Uzumaki dived into the ocean below in order to not only help Moana from possibly drowning but to also catch up to the boat.

By the time he surfaced, Naruto saw Moana gasping for air before they saw Maui wearing quite the amused expression.

"I could watch that all day." Spoke the demi-god, earning displeased looks from the mortals. "Okay! Enjoy the island, you two!" With a tug of the rope, the sail was unfurled and a gust of wind carried the boat away from them. "MAUI, OUT!"

"HEY! GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!" Naruto roared out.

"You have to put back the heart!" Moana cried out, sputtering while keeping herself afloat.

Swimming up to her, Naruto spoke. "I don't know about you, but we need to swim."

"Back to the island or to Maui?" She asked.

"What do you think?"

Before a response could be properly given, Naruto felt something brush and wrap around his body. His breath hitched in response. 'Please don't tell me that's a shark. I don't wanna deal with that now of all times.'

Quite suddenly, both he and Moana was dragged into the water. Each were frantic, looking at each other before they were torpedoed through the ocean. And in a span of seconds, the two mortals were soon tossed onto the boat, taking Maui and Heihei off guard.

Abruptly standing up from his seat, Maui could only mutter out a response in the given situation. "Did… not see that coming."

Quickly getting over her shock, Moana whirled around and harshly glared at the demigod. Her composure was briefly broken when her wet hair smacked her face; prompting her to push it back.

"I am Moana of Motunui, this is my canoe, and you will journey to-"

Maui doesn't let her finish by grasping her by the arms and tossing her off the boat.

Seeing this, Naruto glared at Maui as his Keyblade appeared in his grasp. "The hell is you're-"

Once again, Maui repeated the same action he made beforehand with Naruto ending up into the ocean.

With the two mortals out of the way, Maui was about to continue sailing his pilfered boat when he noticed Mini-Maui throwing a fit on his tattooed peck.

"Oh, get over it~ We gotta move."

However, before he could do anything else, a torrent of water impacted the water and disbursed to reveal Moana and Naruto.

"...Aaaaand they're back."

"Okay, what is going on here?" Naruto asked in bewilderment, wildly looking all over. "How'd we-"

Gasping for a bit of air, Moana restarted her speech. "I… am Moana of Motnuiiiiiii-"

Yet she was interrupted once more as Maui pulled a lever, which shifted the boat, causing her to fall off into the water. Naruto quickly acted and held onto the mast in order to not be dunked once again.

It was at this time Naruto got a good look on what got him and Moana onto the boat in the first place as the young Polynesian girl was dumped back onto the boat… behind Maui this time...

By the Ocean itself?

Inside of the Uzumaki's head, things were creaking and breaking as he was really dumbfounded once again on what was currently happening.

Turning around, Maui faced the annoyed, yet determined teenage girl. "It was Moana, right?" He then turned to the whiskered man. "And you are…"

"Naruto."

"Yes." She opens up the locket, pulled out the Heart and forcefully showed it to Maui. "And you will restore the Heart!"

In a quick action, Maui snatched the Heart from her grasp and THROWS it into the ocean.

Seeing Moana gasp in absolute horror, Naruto dived into the ocean in hopes of retrieving the Heart of Te Fiti in time. Yet it was all for naught as he was dragged back onto the surface and was gently placed onto the boat…

Just in time for him to see the Ocean itself spat out the Heart and struck Maui dead center on his forehead; causing him to fall backward and shook the boat in the process.

Instinctively, Naruto merely whistled on the display while Moana let out a small giggle.

Pulling himself up, Maui merely looked at the Heart lying on the boat. "Alright, I'm out." Before Maui ever got the chance of ditching them, Naruto harshly grabbed Maui's hair and pried him back. "Hey! Lay off the hair!" He painfully said.

"Like I will with what you pulled on us." Came Naruto's response in a narrowed glance. "Trapping us in a cave with possibly no means of escape. I don't know if I want to knock out a few of your teeth for the start of my troubles."

Maui didn't want any of that as he forcefully pried himself out of the whiskered man's grasp -at the cost of some of his hair- before leaping into the ocean. Yet before he could even swim an inch away from his place, he was dragged underwater and was thrown back onto the boat.

"OH, COME ON!"

As if not wanting to deal with any further of Maui's nonsense, a pillar of water smacked the demigod's head several times -like it was slapping him- before spraying a torrent of sea water directly into his face.

Off to the side, Naruto still looked on in amazement on what he was seeing now that he was starting to calm down.

'I don't know why, but I think there's something about this,' mentally gesturing to the Ocean, 'that seems quite familiar. But I can't place it all that well.'

"What is your problem?" Moana asked, getting Naruto's attention back to the matter at hand; just in time to see Moana present the Heart to Maui. Said demigod gave out an uneasy look in response, which he tried his best to hide it.

Yet spending enough time with both Bruce and Harley, and his previous teachings, Naruto quickly saw through on what Maui was doing.

"You're afraid of that, aren't you?" Naruto commented.

Maui shook his head vigorously, as he was silently thankful the ocean water was hiding away his nervous sweat. "No, no… I'm not afraid."

Mini-Maui thought differently as he quickly bit through his nails and ran around in circles. The living tattoo then noticed the others' attention, causing him to grab his hook and tried to appear calm.

Maui gave a displeased look at his tattoo counterpart. "Stay out of it or you're sleeping in my armpit."

"Ew~/Eugh!" Sounded off the mortals.

Maui then looked back and harshly pointed at Moana. "And you stop it. That is not a Heart, it is a curse." Moana had a displeased look and scoffed while Naruto merely listened in curiosity. "The second I took it, I got blasted out of the sky, and I lost my hook."

Moana wasn't really listening at Maui's excuses at this point. All she did was pushing the Heart closer to Maui's face, causing him to scoot back. Thus she adorned quite the smug look upon her face as she continuously inched closer and closer.

"Get it away from me!"

Naruto couldn't help but laugh at this point as he thought it was one of the most pathetic things he witnessed in his life.

"Get this, away?" Moana said mockingly as she kept up with her action.

Scooting right into the mast, Maui was stopped in his tracks as he was cornered by both mortals.

Putting up a face, the demigod spoke. "Hey, hey, hey! I'm a demigod, okay? I will smite you! You wanna get smote?... Smotten?"

Maui was so pathetic at this point that neither Moana or Naruto could take his threat seriously, which annoyed the tattooed man greatly.

Grunting in frustration, Maui quickly stood up and got up into Moana's face. Well he would've if Naruto didn't step in front of the teenager, whom gave Naruto an appreciative nod, despite being really unfazed by Maui's action.

"Listen, that thing doesn't give you powers to create life, it's a homing beacon of death. So if you don't put it away, bad things are gonna come for it."

"Come for this? The Heart?" She asked in a mock-excited tone. In response, she held up the Heart high above her head and started jumping around like a child. "You mean this Heart right here!?"

This caused Maui to shush her, keyword tried, but Naruto held him back.

"Don't! You can't raise your voice like that!"

Out of spite, Moana yelled to the heavens. "COME AND GET IT!"

"You are gonna get us killed!"

"Ok, can someone explain to me just what this is?" Naruto questioned, snatching the green gem out of Moana's hand to examine it. "You're getting all paranoid over this little rock and we're in the middle of the ocean with no land or living thing in sight." Naruto flicked it back to Moana, who fumbled with it before grasping it tightly. "So, explain. Why is this thing so important? Cause Moana here apparently… you left home for this, right?

Hearing this, Moana quickly agreed with Naruto's argument. But she wanted to get into the matter at hand. "That's right! And I won't stop until you get us to Te Fiti so you can put the Heart back!"

*ZING!* *THUD!*

The mixed sound of something hitting the boat and Heihei crying out of fear quickly catches their attention. Looking over, they saw a small bone-like arrow lodged in the wood between Heihei's legs.

Yanking it out, Maui inspected it as Naruto looked around wondering where it came from as there was nothing within the vicinity.

"Kakamora."

"Kaka-what?" Voiced the mortal pair.

"Murdering, little pirates." Turning over, Maui eyed the Heart of Te Fiti within Moana's grasp. "Wonder what they're here for."

Naruto soon noticed a fog started to form behind the boat, thickening and blanketing the ocean.

"Well~ that ain't ominous at all." Came the sarcastic remark, holding his Keyblade at the ready.

This drew in Moana's attention as she turned around to see the dense fog with the boat's occupants barely saw three little silhouettes.

From what they could make out, they appeared to be little creatures with coconuts being their armor with the coconut holes serving as their mouth and eye sockets. And it appeared their only form of communication was them smacking their shells in specific manners.

Moana was unsure about them while Naruto seemed rather weary, given how they suddenly appeared from out of nowhere.

"They're… kinda cute!"

Suddenly, the three Kakamora viciously applied war paint, giving themselves menacing expressions, wielding their bone-styled weapons.

Moana gasped as out of the fog, a looming, moving island drifted towards them.

Naruto tightened his grip on his weapon, he spoke. "You were saying."

The moving island was in fact a giant ship, being at least six times larger than the smaller boat. And the larger vessel contained hundreds of the Kakamora with a good score or so began playing drums in a rhythmic pattern.

In a clear view, the boat's occupants saw what appeared to be their "chief", given it's more flair in it's armor, pointing it's spear at the Heart, still in plain view within Moana's palm.

Realizing what was happening, Moana hurriedly placed the Heart back into her necklace and bent down towards the ocean.

"Ocean! Do something! Help us!"

All she got was nothing from the supposed Ocean.

"The ocean doesn't help you, you help yourself!" Getting in position at the other end of the boat, he pulled up and tied his hair into a top bun before giving out orders as he grabbed the nearby rope. "Tighten the halyard, bind the stays!"

Moana freezes, having no clue of what Maui instructed her on; which caused the demigod to look at her incredulously. "You can't sail!?"

The teenager became quite sheepish. "I… uh~ I am self taught…"

Maui then looked at Naruto, who still looked at the Kakamora. "I haven't sailed in years, Maui. So consider myself rusty."

Clicking his tongue, Maui pulled the rope, opening the sail which pushed them forward. Behind them, the Kakamora continued to chant as they gained speed.

The "chief" Kakamora then thumps his spear onto the top deck in a certain order. The lesser Kakamora listened and pull a stop for a giant wheel, which began spinning, loosening a giant drum and several Kakamora bungee-jump onto the instrument to perform a war beat.

Not liking how this was going, Moana spoke up. "Can't you shapeshift or something?"

Naruto nodded, hoping this to be true from what he figured as the demigod's ability could be an advantage on their given situation. Though with the shapeshifting ability, the former shinobi didn't know what Maui's limitations were.

"Do you see my Hook?" Maui spoke out. "No magic Fish Hook, no magic powers!"

Moana looked up and gasps as a volley of arrows came flying and covered the boat. There were even a good number of them which had rope tied to them, tugging the smaller sea vessel closer to the Kakamora's floating island. One of them nearly impaled Heihei, but the little bird didn't mind as it absentmindedly pecked at it.

Not liking where this was going, Naruto started slicing through the harpoons with his Keyblade with Maui and Moana helping pulling out any nearby them. These acts were able to buy the three time in distancing them from the Kakamoras.

A single Kakamora sliced a rope, which opened their sails. And not long after, their massive stronghold… split off into two extra ships.

"Oh you gotta be kidding me." Naruto groaned out.

With widened eyes, Moana gasped. "Their boat is turning into more boats!"

The smaller enemy ships were no doubt faster than the main one as they surged forward in order to surround the smaller boat. Once they were in position, a horn was blown and many Kakamora ziplined their way towards Naruto, Maui and Moana.

Not wanting them to get on board, Naruto quickly sliced through the ropes, causing many of their enemies to fall into the ocean below. Others saw this quickly as they jumped from their spots and dive bombed to attack them.

Grabbing the nearby oar, Moana swung her impromptu weapon and batted one of the Kakamora away.

"Ha ha! I just did that!"

Moana's mini-victory was short lived as one of their present enemies landed on top of her. She shrieked and tried getting it off as a horde was attacking Maui and Naruto.

"Get off, you creepy ass Gremlin rejects!" Naruto yelled out, spinning around to rid himself of these pests. Even in the process of knocking back these little critters, many that kept coming his way.

As this all happened, one Kakamora was able to tear the locket away from Moana's neck, releasing the Heart from it's confinement which soon landed right next to Heihei.

...And being the idiot rooster he is, the malnourished bird quickly swallowed it whole.

"No! No, no, no! Heihei! Spit it out!"

Another Kakamora grabbed Heihei by the throat and made its way back towards the massive stronghold as it was being pulled back across the water via recoiling harpoon arrow.

"Maui! Naruto! They took the Heart!"

Being free of the coconut creatures, both men looked over to see the one Kakamora bouncing on the waves, holding Heihei tightly.

"That's a chicken." Commented the demigod.

"Actually, Heihei is a rooster." Naruto corrected. "There's a difference."

"The Heart is in the-" Moana grunted in absolute frustration. "We have to get him back!"

Naruto quickly realized what the teenager was trying to tell them, getting him ready for quite the sudden retrieval mission.

From Maui's chest, Mini-Maui looked up towards his demigod counterpart with a worried expression.

Before Moana could call out for his help, the Polonesian demigod jumped on the front of the boat with a battle cry.

"CHEE-HOOO!"

The boat surgered around wildly with Moana looking up in amazement as Maui pulls to level the boat so they can escape from their confined space.

At the enemy stronghold, the Kakamora cheered with their prize on hand.

"There! Right there!" Moana pointed out, but soon noticed something was amiss.

Naruto was able to catch on as well, causing him to glare at the demigod. "Why the hell are you turning around!?"

"Uh~ escaping!"

"They have the Heart!"

"Forget it!" Maui yelled out. "You'll never get it back!"

Not wanting to deal with this, Moana sprinted forward with the oar within her grasp and leaped onto the nearest Kakamora ship.

"Hey! What am I gonna steer with? They're gonna kill ya!"

"Maui, take it from me girls like that are committed to one thing. And she doesn't look like she's about to give up on saving this Heart thing. Unlike you. So help us now or be dead in the water." Naruto said, hopping in place before running off the boat, leaping into the air in order to go after Moana.

Maui stared for a brief moment until grumbling under his breath, moving to follow after the crazy two that he had just met.

On the smaller enemy ship, Naruto swung her oar around and struck a good number of Kakamora as she wore a small grin on her face. The Uzumaki soon realized that these little guys were possibly easy to deal with.

Sure they were many, which made up their strength, but take that away and they were extremely weak… and vulnerable.

Naruto spotted a net on one of the larger ships of these coconut menaces. Grinning, Naruto grabbed a nearby rope and using the momentum of the waves and his own weight swung forward and in mid-swing, snatched the large net.

While in mid air, Naruto managed to snag a bunch of Kakamora and flung the cluster into the waters.

Nearing a bunch, the Keyblader spotted several Kakamora armed with blowguns. Not wanting to see whether they were poisonous or knockout, hard to tell for all he knew, Naruto jumped and flipped out their paths. Taking a breath, Naruto pointed his Keyblade at them and mustered what strength he had.

"Thundara!"

Bolts of lightning struck not just the blowgun wielders, but many surrounding enemies.

Landing on one of the many bridges, Naruto released a pained gasp as he breathed in deeply.

'Didn't realize how bad my reserves are.' He thought, shaking himself out before charging forward to catch up with Moana. 'Need to watch myself before I go too far and pass out.'

From their respective spots, Moana and Maui saw this; both gaping with eyes wide and jaws dropped.

"Did you know he could do that?" Maui shouted over the commotion.

"I just met him before meeting you." She spoke from the enemy boat before smacking more Kakamora away from her destination.

Meanwhile, Naruto moved only to feel his legs turn to jelly.

'Ah fuck.' Naruto grit his teeth as he fell to one knee. 'It's worse than I thought.'

With him vulnerable, one of the Kakamora quickly came up to him and jabbed it's boney spear into his leg.

"GAH!" He cried out, whacking the coconut menace away from in response.

"NARUTO!" Moana didn't hesitate, grabbing a rope and swung for him while whacking aside coconuts.

Naruto racked his brain for a way out, using his Keyblade primarily for defense now. Struggling back onto his feet, he pried out the boney spear from his leg; causing him to harshly hiss.

"Oh that's gonna sting later."

Coming up to him, Moana spoke out of concern. "Are you alright?"

"I will be once we get that damn rooster back."

Moana nodded. "Thanks for helping me."

"Thank me when we get that malnourished friend of yours back." He said, jogging along the path. "And once this is over, mind telling me what's going on? I feel really out of the loop here."

The teenager nodded once more as they trudged along the way.

Getting to one of the harpoon guns, Naruto got an idea. He kicked away one of the Kakamora stationed there before grasping the weapon. Aiming it towards the main enemy vessel, Naruto saw where Heihei was located as he was being kept near the very top.

"Be ready to jump!" He said, redirecting the device at his intended target.

"What?"

"NOW!"

Firing the ancient looking harpoon gun, Naruto quickly jumped and grasped onto the rope as he soared into the air. Not wanting to be left behind, Moana followed suit but was some distance away from the whiskered man's position on the harpoon rope.

The harpoon had met its mark, but the two mortals weren't going to exactly make it to their destination. Letting go of the rope, each roughly landed on the main boat's upper levels with the Kakamora surrounding them both. Acting quickly, Naruto and Moana brandished their weapons and continued their advancements towards the top.

Kakamora were relentless in their pursuit of the two, some piling onto Naruto while he thrashed them off.

"God." Naruto smacked away one. "Persistent little bastards."

Moana utilized her oar, taking out swaths of these balls of trouble with her running further up the main ship with Naruto right behind her.

Didn't take them much longer after a small climb to reach the top, which was apparently a crow's nest. The chief Kakamora spotted them and ordered his honor guard to attack the humans. But they were no match with Naruto and Moana batting and playing golf with their coconut bodies.

With them all gone, the chief Kakamora tried to defend his prize by trying to escape… Key word: trying.

"And where do you think you're going?" Naruto said, snatching the coconut gremlin from the top of his body.

Moana then snatched Heihei away from the coconut creature's grasp. "We'll take him back."

Before the chief Kakamora could retaliate, Naruto threw it away; resulting with them hearing it scream in the distance.

The pair soon heard a horn being blown, causing them to realize they need to get back to the smaller boat or else they'd be overwhelmed by Kakamora forces.

Running down several levels, the two saw the Kakamora stampeding towards them all at once. Along the way, Moana took a harpoon with some rope attached to it. Reaching back down to the first floor, they saw Maui paddling the boat with his hands in the distance before looking down to see the extremely large war drums.

Looking back at each other, both smiled as they shared the same idea before quickly tying the rope down onto a nearby pole.

"JUMP!"

Both humans plummeted towards the drums below, bracing themselves for impact. Once bouncing off it's large surface, Moana threw the harpoon at the boat's sail pole. Acting quickly, Moana used her oar to zipline across the way while Naruto used his Keyblade to follow.

Moana ended up crashing into the pole while Naruto landed hard on the boat's edge. In that moment of colliding, Heihei was dropped from Moana's grasp and landed hard enough to cough up the Heart of Te Fiti.

"Oh good!" Naruto breathed out. "Now we don't have to wait for him to-"

"YES!" Maui cried out, snatching the oar from Moana's grasp before using it to adjust their course.

Getting back onto his feet, Naruto noticed the enemy ships were closing in on them. "GUYS!"

Moana and Maui soon realized what was happening with the Kakamora were trying to cut them off. Acting quickly, the demigod quickly steered them forward with darts and boney arrows flying past them. Naruto batted away what darts he could from Maui while getting scraped by a few of the arrows.

Turning his head around, Naruto saw they were gonna crash into the narrow gap the enemy ships were making. He knew what had to be done in order for them to escape, which would no doubt cost him to be exhausted even further. But it will be worth it.

Grasping both hands onto his Keyblade's handle, the Uzumaki poured what energy he could spare into it before pointing the tip in front of him with his back hitting the sail and calling out a spell. "Aerora!"

A burst of wind shot out of the Keyblade, propelling the boat faster than what it was originally going for. Moana skidded back and almost fell off her boat with Heihei if it weren't for hanging onto the mast. And as for Maui, he firmly stood in place while holding onto the rope so the small sea vessel wouldn't steer off course.

Just as their boat soared past the narrow gap, the two smaller Kakamora ships collided, crashed and started collapsing into each other. And it wasn't long for the main one to also join it's allied ones upon collision, sending all of the small, coconut armored gremlins sinking into the ocean.

"Yes! We did it!" Moana cheered, happily bouncing on the boat as they were now on safer waters.

*BACKAA*

The teenage girl smiled, bending down to not only pet Heihei but to retrieve the Heart and place it back into her locket for safe keeping.

"Well, congratulations on not being dead." Maui said sarcastically, picking off many of the Kakamora's darts and boney arrows off the boat. "You surprise me, you two; really." The demigod then eyed Naruto, who was kneeling at this point and using his Keyblade as a means of leverage from not collapsing onto the boat.

Coming up to his side, Moana spoke. "Are you gonna be alright?"

Panting, the Uzumaki rasped out a response. "Yeah, I'll manage. Just… no more action for a while."

"Good to know." Maui said, continuing to clean the boat. "Anyways… I'm still not taking the Heart back." Moana and Naruto gave a look of disappointment at the demigod's stubbornness. "You two want to get to Te Fiti, you have to go through a whole ocean of bad." Maui explained as he walked to the front, "Not to mention Te Kā," He pointed to a tattoo on his back, of a fearsome looking being. "Lava monster. Ever defeat a lava monster?"

"No" Moana shook her head before gazing onto Naruto, who steadily got back up and used his Keyblade for additional support.

"Not really 'lava' but I've fought my share of heated battles." Responded the Uzumaki.

Moana nodded, clearly seeing the truth in his eyes. She then adopted a smug look before addressing Maui. "Have you?"

This made the demigod groan, causing Naruto to chuckle. And unbeknownst to either of them, Mini-Maui stiffened a laugh; pulling down a score chart and made a tally mark for Moana.

"I'm not going on a suicide mission with some... mortals." He states in a matter-of-factly manner while ignoring Naruto's and Moana's glare. He began rummaging through the storage. "You can restore the Heart without me, and me says no." He pulled out a banana from the boat's small compartment just as Heihei falls in with a caw before heading to the back. "I'm going to get my Hook, on my own, end of discussion."

Shaking his head at Maui's attitude, Naruto thought of a compromise. "How about we get your Hook back." This gained both Polinesian mortal and demigod's attention. "Clearly it means so much to you and can't do much without it. We help you get it and in return, you help Moana on this task of hers. Sound fair?" There wasn't much of a response in return. "You still won't help, even if we did?"

"Ha, I don't need some help from mortals." The demigod then eyed Naruto in a quizital manner. "What are you anyways? Demigod? A human with super training? Don't think I didn't see that magic you cast earlier."

"Same here." Moana voiced. "I mean, helped take care of most of the Kakamora and getting us away in time."

Naruto nodded before giving his best answer. "I'm nothing more than just a Keyblade wielder."

"Key-what?"

Holding up his key-shaped sword, Naruto answered. "This is my Keyblade. Don't know much about what it does asides from helping me cast spells… among other things." Seeing their expressions, Naruto shrugged. "I just started out and don't know everything about this thing just yet."

Both Polynesians nodded before things quieted on the boat. And as for Naruto he carefully slid down the mast before rummaging through the compartment to find something to eat…

As he was extremely starving, so Naruto wasn't exactly going to be picky at the given time.

Pushing the recent bit of info on Naruto's weapon on hand, Moana wondered about a few other things. For one, how exactly the whiskered man wound up on Maui's island in the first place. He seemed out of place for her as she never saw a man like him before in her life, given his unique features.

Asides from that, Moana wondered how they could be able to get Maui to cooperate on her mission to help restore Te Fiti's Heart. Naruto is willing to help out, which she is very much grateful; but it seems he is still out of the loop on the finer details of her mission.

'Should probably tell him very soon.' Thought the teenager as her eyes wandered… and saw something interesting on one of Maui's various tattoos.

Placed on the demigod's left pec was a scene depicting Maui being praised by untold amounts of people. And given by the look of it, he basked in it.

Just as Maui was about to bite into the banana, Moana spoke. "You'd be a hero again." The demigod paused before eating the banana, eyeing her. "That's what you're all about, right?"

"Little girl, I am a hero."

"Maybe you were. Now, now you're just the guy who stole the Heart of Te Fiti" Moana snatched the banana away from him, "The guy who cursed the world!" Then she took a bite out of it. "You're no one's hero."

"Teh, no one's?" Moana turned back to her, shaking her head. Maui's face slowly began to morph into a frown as he looked down at Heihei.

*BOK*

Maui looked over at the Ocean, which brought up a small mound of water and motioned it as if it shook its head.

Looking over at Naruto, who was peeling the banana skin with his eyes staring at the sentient water mound with utmost curiosity, spoke up. "I don't know the full story on what's going on, which I still need to be told though."

From her spot, Moana nodded as she indeed promised to tell her whiskered companion.

"But given that you were a renowned hero, all of your accomplishments were greatly overshadowed… all because you stole Te Fiti's Heart." Naruto stated, taking a small bite out of the banana. "Hardly anyone will overlook your big mistake, a stain on what you've done in life."

Maui's jaw dropped when he realized the truth, the biggest part of his pride and ego had been greatly bruised-nay scared.

He'd been stuck on that island for years; cut off from all parts of civilization. Maui's been out of touch from everyone, causing him to not know of what the people thought of him now.

"But... give this back." Moana revealed the Heart from her locket. "Save the world, you'd be everyone's hero" Maui began to slowly smile as he thought about the possibilities once redeeming himself.

It also didn't hurt with Mini-Maui demonstrating on his chest, earning a praising reaction from the crowd of tattoos. Maui then looks back to hear Moana chanting his name in his ear.

"Maui! Maui! Maui! You're so amazing!"

The smile faded just as quick, the demigod stood up. "We'd never make it without my Hook. Not past Te Ka."

"Then we get your Hook." Naruto said, swallowing another banana bite. "Without that, then it would be much harder to fix your reputation."

"I suppose..."

"Then let's get your Hook, take out Te Ka, restore the Heart! Unless you… don't want to be, Maui: Demi-God of the wind and sea, hero to all?"

Moana stuck out her hand as Maui pondered for a moment.

"Alright then." Maui shook her hand… before throwing her overboard again.

"Seriously!" Naruto yelled out. "Would you stop that!?"

Soon enough, the Ocean snagged Moana and quickly dropped her onto the boat, soaking wet with a glare aimed right at the demigod before her.

"Eh~ Worth a shot."

"Wasn't worth it to her." Came Naruto's response.

Maui ignored this while going to the back of the boat to begin steering it with the oar placed in it's position.

"Okay, we go east." Maui pointed his hand up to the sky. "To the lair of Tamatoa." He then temporarily placed his hand in the water to feel the current. "If anyone has my hook, it's that bee-eyed bottom feeder."

Maui began tightening the sail, giving the boat an increased speed as it soon bounded off the waves as the sun started reaching the horizon.

It was throughout all this did Moana intently observe all of Maui's movements while sailing while Naruto sat back and enjoyed the picturesque view.

"You're quite experienced in sailing." Moana began, watching Maui tie knots and puts them around the boat, securing the sails. Excited, Moana gets right in his face. "Could you teach me?"

"No," Maui said without hesitation.

Moana frowned. "Why not? My job is to deliver you, Maui, across the great ocean."

"Because I'd rather not and you're not sailing material."

"What do you mean?"

"It means you can't sail."

"Maybe if you taught-"

"I said, no" Moana turned, giving a huff, sitting on the other side of the boat. Looking away, the demigod's eyes caught that of the Keyblade wielders. "What? Come on... It'd take too much time."

"Seems like time is all we got here." Naruto replied. "Besides, you were being unfair as she is willing to learn, unlike most people."

The first time Naruto was on a sea vessel was his mission in protecting the princess turned actress turned Daimyo of the Snow/Spring Country back on his home world. Others involved him riding a few boats here and there during his training trip with Jirayia. The next one was getting to Turtle Island as a means of training to properly handle and control Kurama's chakra before getting involved with the 4th Shinobi War.

And the times that followed involved upon entering the world he lived in for over a decade. There were few instances pertained with Talia from either saving her for the first time to travel to certain areas on their two years together. And upon living in the States, he had several experiences being on small ships, helping out Thomas and Arthur Curry (whenever they visited) with Bobo back in Metropolis in fishing and the like whenever he's not working at the Daily Planet.

Not once did Naruto know how to properly work a sea vessel, only snippets here and there; and those were more advanced than the boat he was currently on at this very moment.

"And if it's not too much trouble, I am willing to learn as well. I sadly don't have much experience."

"Ugh... alright." Came Maui's groaned response. "You two can learn."

Moana jumped up in excitement. "Yes!" She grabbed the oar, "Where we starting at?"

"Starting with the sheet." Maui demonstrated as Naruto situated himself at the boat's edge and watched the two struggle in getting her to follow.

'Entertainment with the lessons.' Chuckled the whiskered Uzumaki. 'Oh~ if I had some of that when growing up, then I'd do much better in the academy and training… somewhat.'

"-And just so you know, it's called wayfinding, princess." Maui climbed up the mast to observe his surroundings. "And it's not just sails and knots. It's seeing where you're going in your mind! Knowing where you are, by knowing where you've been."

"It's all ocean, it looks the same." Naruto spoke up. "How would you know where you're going if everything around you looks the same and is constantly changing?"

Moana nodded as she thought the same thing.

"Look to the stars, Naruto. The sky guides you, both during the day and during the night. We read the wind and the sky; at night we name every star." Maui replies, unintentionally reminding Moana of her Ancestors' song that soon lead her on her current quest.

Naruto nodded, taking this seriously. "Thanks for clarifying. Like I said before, I don't have much experience in the field; unlike a wayfinding master like yourself."

Maui puffed his chest, seeing Naruto understanding the gist of things.

As he landed back on the deck of the boat, Moana spoke up. "Okay first, I'm not a princess, I'm the daughter of the chief."

"Same difference."

"...Are you seriously having this conversation?" Naruto asks exasperatedly while being a bit surprised in learning Moana was the daughter of the chief.

Moana wasn't having any of that, causing her to throw a fit. "No!"

"If you wear a dress, have an animal sidekick, you're a princess!"

Naruto pondered if that were really true or not. With what experiences he personally had with royalty, only one practically qualified with what Maui listed off: Tsunade. After all, she had Tonton as a "sidekick" alongside her Slug summons. But in all his time knowing the 5th Hokage, Naruto never once saw her in a dress.

"...I think that doesn't fit out entirely, Maui."

The demigod merely shrugged, sitting down and handled the oar. "Anyways… Wayfinding, lesson one: pull the sheet."

Moana runs to the mast, ready to pull a rope.

"Not the sheet."

She holds her hand out to another rope, and another, and another.

"Nope, nope, nope."

Moana scurries all over the boat trying to figure out what to do, with Mini-Maui, Naruto and Maui facepalming.

'This is gonna be a long trip.' Thought the Uzumaki, gazing up at the sky. 'And I wonder how long it'll take for me to get back home.'

-End Chapter-

AN:

And there we have it; the first chapter of Naruto's "worldly travels" in Disney properties with it starting out with the film, Moana.

When planning out the worlds I wanted Naruto to visit prior to the events of Kingdom Hearts 1, I had thought of him being stranded somewhere to make things fun while connecting to what Naruto dealt with back home.

Now with the layout on these "worldy visits", chapter lengths depend exactly on what source I'm pulling from. If it's gonna be an episode, then a typical chapter length. But if it's going to be a movie, it'll be split up into separate chapters.

So with the last chapter, readers were rather mixed with how I wrote out the fight against Zeus.

A lot of you loved it while handfuls thought it should've been written better on certain parts. And I agree with them on these facts. With these, I hope to do better in the future when I have Naruto fight off against tougher opponents in making me figure things out better in presenting my work.

For now, please forgive me those that I didn't fully please in the last chapter; I'm doing all that I can as I'm writing for the sake of fun on my spare time… which is really little these days.

As for Naruto getting a new power up, well last chapter was the start as he'll be getting more abilities as time progresses.

Now some people are wondering why I'm changing things up in what I'm writing in DC comics source materials. That I'm not following canon per say with how I'm putting things out in my story so far.

Reason being: I'm not following canon exactly. I'm pulling ideas from other comics and media and incorporating them into my story as what I think could be better and make things unique.

Sure I do plan on using a lot from the DC animated and live action shows and films, but I'm doing my spin on things with what other shows and series I have in mind.

Afterall, it's pretty much revealed in recent comic events that the main DC universe is a metaverse with it constantly changing.

Another thing was asked about the Heartless that why haven't had them overwhelm Gotham already due to how dark the city is. Not just that but they haven't "branched out" and started invading other cities just yet. I just want to keep things more manageable in my story so far and for the fact that they are drawn towards the Keyblade.

So for the time being, they are focused in Gotham before they move elsewhere because of where Naruto is residing. And when I get closer to KH1 events, this will change considerably.

Now… after all this time… you guys are starting to question who the mystery little girl is in Naruto's forgotten childhood. Well I gotta tell ya she ain't Hestia of the Greek/Roman pantheon, that's for sure.

I do have to at least tell ya she ain't some OC character, she is a DC comic character. Won't tell ya her name just yet as I am planning on leaving clues to her identity before I make her proper introduction.

Asides from that… oh god… the new trailers for Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind DLC, Final Fantasy VII and System Shock 3 that just came out were amazing! Can't wait to see how they turn out!

Anyways, be sure to review this story guys! Would like the criticisms. Please and thank you!

OMAKE by Azure King and Queen

Kushina Uzumaki-Namikaze was bouncing in her seat, as a masterfully crafted desk was the only way between her and Didi, Death personified, for what was the greatest thing in her afterlife: A job~! Ahem a job as a Reaper!

"Ok so… can you stop with the bouncing?" Didi deadpanned as she wore a business suit for rare instances as it had to least be professional.

"Sorry~" The red haired woman said with a smile, "Ahem so go on."

"Okay, so as you know, I… allow you to get an interview compared to the billions of applicants. Look see this gal?" Death summons a computer to show a young girl with a scythe, "Maka is one the few Reapers I personally got to work for me. Because… she is by the rules, and respects the law of the dead. Meaning… not to use it for seeing living relatives and possible grandbabies…"

Didi gave a 'really?' look to Kushina as she saw on her document that her main reason for joining is 'to see my grandbabies.' before it was fervently erased before adding 'Because working for Lady Didi is great' with a chibi Kushina giving the peace sign.

"Ahem, while my selfish interest are muddy-"

"Clear."

"Clear…" Kushina gave a shaky smile as she knew that lying was going to work. "As day, but you know that Uzumaki's have made deals with God's constantly."

"Sealing them to be your bitches, as some rudely say." Didi crudely stated as Kushina gave a shaky laugh, "I don't hold you accountable for that. The ones I do, however, would be your ancestors."

"Whoo bullet dodge!" Naruto's mother wiped some sweat from her forehead.

"But~!" Didi type into a computer, "Since coming here… you pick fights with… Ryougi Shiki, King Arthur, Joseph Joestar, Naked and Solid Snake, not to mention a bunch of my Reapers to try to take their place."

"I… will explain that. As Uzumaki, I am prone… to do some stupid stuff." The red haired woman nearly crushed her knee from containing her anger.

"Hmm… you're honest… we need that." Didi stated taking a pen, "Point… the fights didn't matter, I need you to understand to do a job. You get breaks, but you need to do your job and not get distracted while on the clock."

"I understand," Kushina said as she stared into her future boss. "So let's get this started…"

Didi nodded as two stared down in silence, "You will be trained for five years and have to work with a partner for the next three decades. You can visit your grandkids if you do your job and collect ten souls before said visits."

"...Counter offer…" Kushina smirked, "No training, just a guide. Partner for ten years… and I visit my grandkids every two souls."

Didi gave a smile back, it was rare to have someone counter offer as she would tell them to get out. She needed a challenge, "Okay, counter-counteroffer, Training for a year, partner for twenty, and every seven souls."

"COUNTER-Counter-counter offer…"

XXXXX

THREE HOURS LATER

XXXXX

Kushina sighed as she did it, she made the ultimate offer, "How about that…"

"I am… stunned…" Did said as she looked down at the offer.

Unlimited vacation days, her own customized scythe that can shoot out sniper rounds, specialized team of elite Reapers to use, unlimited access to any weapon.

Didi could feel her eyebrows twitching at the ridiculous offer, was she trying to make an offer so bad that it will give the excuse to get just the right amount of stuff-

*Ding~!*

'No wait, scratch that.' Didi thought as she saw Kushina smiling as if she won, "Well time to break some bad news to you, Kushina. Not only this request is down right sad, it's not going to happen."

"Ehh?! Why not!?" The red haired woman cried as she looked heartbroken at the news.

"Kushina…" Didi started as she leaned back in her chair with her eyes closed and spoke-

*POP*

The red haired woman blinked as she nodded, "Not even Death can stop my luck~!" She said swiping her nose before moving to her boss' desk, "Tap, tap, tap~!" She whispered before exiting out a few windows and smiled. "And head here…" She repeated to herself as the woman started to pinch her behind to produce tears, "*Sniff* There…"

Feeling a tingle down her spine, Kushina quickly got back into her seat with everything set in place… for what's to come.

"Okay sorry!" Didi said as she suddenly phase back into the room, "I- What's wrong?"

"I know you let me have what I want so just let me work with your trainer and I'll take what I get." She said as Didi held Kushina's hand while the other went to finalized her newest reaper application.

"Its fine, look do a good job and I'll put some… wait a sec…" In all her time she knew Kushina the woman even took a foot to the face to… oh no. She looked as her finger hit the 'Enter' Button and saw what her crazy friend did.

"NOOOOOOO~!" Death fell from her chair onto her knees and raised her arms in the pain on being outwitted as the paper printed out Kushina's accepted job papers.

"Haha~! Death never beats Uzumaki's~!" Kushina gloated above the woman before throwing the peace sign, "Maybe next time sucker~!" With that Kushina grab her papers as it read, 'Class A Reaper, Monthly Days off, and double scythes. And chooses most of her targets' with a crudely drawn Chibi Kushina in black ink on the corner of the page…

What? It's her first time using a mouse to make her usual chibi mark.

Death blushed at the woman's trick before picking up a phone. After several moments of waiting, the gothic woman spoke. "Hey, Grimm? I need a little help on your new coworker."

…..

"You know that one crazy woman with pink nightie and pink dress in Japan?"

…..

"Yeah the one that never blinks with the crystal blue eyes? And possible scared mentally scarred most our usual reapers?"

…..

"The newest rookie gets her, she earned that one… with what she just pulled."

Didi smirked as Kushina will spending weeks on that one.

"Death gets her way, why do you think they make into a vindictive bitch in those Final Destination flicks?" Cocking her hips to the side, she also realize that Death needed to look for Naruto to at least give her little friend some comfort on his whereabouts.

"Sigh… I blame Kushina for my workload as of late…"

With that she went to do her job and hope that Naruto was okay somewhere in whatever world he was in.
