Chapter 60: Away, Away Part 2
The sound of waves crashing against each other was the first thing Naruto heard upon waking up. It was rather relaxing for him as he wanted to drift back into his slumber. Yet a sudden series of bumps were all it took to pry himself out of it.
Sitting up from his makeshift pillow -which was his ruined shirt- Naruto let out a yawn before moving his limbs bit by bit as they were either stiff or numb. As he moved around in his spot, the Keyblade wielder saw Moana asleep beside him while Maui was steering the boat still. And from the ship's compartment did Naruto briefly see Heihei sleeping peacefully.
The two men stared at each other, not saying anything at all.
Breaking away from the eye contact, Naruto looked around and saw nothing but ocean for miles. Looking upwards, he still saw the night blanketing the sky with a crescent moon and countless stars providing them with what light and guidance they needed for their journey.
"Something bothering you?"
Naruto stood from his spot on the boat as he shrugged. "Not really know for sure." Looking at the demigod, he continued as he soon retrieved and put on his shirt. "What made ya think that?"
"You seemed unsettled in your sleep." Maui answered. "With not much really to do, you tend to look at anything to relieve your boredom at times."
Naruto rose a brow, mildly weirded out that Maui ended up watching the two mortals sleep. Then again, they were the first ones to sleep and the demigod reluctantly took first shift in taking them towards their first destination.
"Well since you're up," Maui held out the oar to Naruto, "mind taking over so I can get my rest?"
"Yeah, that's fine." Switching places with Maui, Naruto stood at the boat's rear after the demigod lied down and looked up at the stars.
"Just keep paddling straight, Naruto. We should be there sometime in the day."
The whiskered writer gave a nod, though he doubted the Polynesian demigod could see it.
With Naruto plunging the oar into the ocean, he went on with the task of keeping the boat straight from whatever currents attempted to steer him off course.
Though it was at this moment with his eyes wandering did he see the look of brief sadness shown on Maui's face. He wondered what that is about before looking behind him at the sky to see the ever present moon.
Without confining his thoughts, Naruto asked. "Is there something wrong with the moon, Maui?"
Maui narrowed his eyes a little in response before turning at his side. "You can say she and I have some issues and leave it at that."
Naruto nodded, not prying any further as it seemed quite the touchy subject.
Despite reading up on a lot of mythological lore back home, Naruto never got the chance to read up on Polynesian myths. It was that there was so much on Earth that it was hard to really organize which ones to touch up on next. He never bothered to hit on the Polynesian ones and he's regretting it now as he feels quite out of the loop with his two present companions.
Taking a break from the lessons earlier this evening, Naruto finally got the chance to ask Moana on what exactly her mission of hers was all about. All he knew beforehand was her retrieving Maui from his island and get him to restore the Te Fiti's Heart where it rightfully belongs. That it was because of his actions, the world was doomed.
As Naruto had his turn on the lessons, he listened in on Moana's story on what lead up to her leaving her home, Matanui.
Recently, her island was experiencing quite the bad case of famine. Everyone originally thought it was just bad crops with various farming areas needed to be changed into new locations. One example being all of the coconuts being rotted from the inside out and many edible fruits and veggies turning utmost black. Things got worse when the fishermen couldn't find any game when retrieving their traps off the coast.
With Moana being the upcoming chief, once her father -Tui- steps down from the position… or passes on, she had to learn how to take care of her people and solve their problems. But it was quite hard with her father not wanting anyone to leave the island's boundaries.
Naruto thought it was stupid and selfhish that Tui didn't want to save them by seeking out other locations and providing food and nurishment.
It was then he learned the reason why Moana's father acted this way from her mother. That when he and his best friend were Moana's age, they went out sailing one night and things occurred that caused Tui's friend to drown outside of Matanui's reef borders. Traumatized, he forbade his people from leaving the island's territory.
Distraught on Tui not listening to Moana, she turned to her grandmother -Tala- for help and soon revealed to her grandchild that their people never originated on Matanui but they were voyagers and their people settled on said island generations ago.
This fact was something Naruto already knew beforehand as ancient civilizations migrated all over in order to explore and expand. And given the Polynesians lived in the Pacific Ocean, there was much ocean to cover before finding land to eventually settle on before repeating their prosperous cycle.
But this changed due to Maui's actions thousands of years ago.
Upon taking Te Fiti's Heart, monsters and a darkened plague were released upon the world. Plants withered and died while sea life did all it could to escape it's reach or they too would die. Many voyagers were lost at sea, due to monsters attacking them and devouring them. And the evidence was clearly shown with Tala presenting Moana the hidden ships in a cave prior to the tale before showing the inky black plague reaching their shore from a hidden part of the island.
After this did Tala present Moana with the Heart of Te Fiti, the key to saving their world. And this wasn't the first time Moana saw the precious green stone as she had seen it as a toddler when the Ocean presented it to her after protecting and guiding a turtle hatchling back into the ocean from predators.
Obviously Tala kept the Heart for safe keeping until the time was right as Moana was chosen to help set things right. It wasn't long after Moana went to tell her father on what she had to do, Tala started dying.
So upon her death bed, her grandmother gave the final push Moana needed to leave Matanui in order to save not just her people but also the world itself.
'Also helped with her mother giving her-her blessing,' Naruto thought with a sigh, 'knowing that her daughter will no doubt be in danger.'
Looking towards the ocean, he briefly wondered… why hasn't the Ocean spirit merely brought the Heart of Te Fiti back to its rightful place in the first place. After all, it kept the particular stone for years and only brought it up to the surface when it chose Moana to bring it back. Afterall, it would save the world much of the trouble.
'There must be more to this than just that.' He pondered, occasionally looking back up at the stars. 'Now that I'm looking more at those, I… I don't recognize any of the constellations and formations.' A frown was then formed. 'Something is really wrong here.'
After learning of Moana's mission, Naruto gave small questions here and there in order to clarify something that slowly unsettled him. At first, he was thinking he was going crazy. But after things were answered, Naruto concluded that he traveled back in time… again.
How that was possible, he was at a complete loss. Magic? Aftermath of his fight against Zeus? His guess was as good as any.
But the idea of time travel seemed… off as he kept looking at the night sky.
Nothing made sense to him with what he was seeing. No formations that he recognized and this worried him greatly.
'Maybe I can get things figured out by the time Te Fiti is restored.' Naruto thought, tightening his grip on the oar. 'Maybe asking the Supreme Goddess of the Polynesian pantheon for help could solve things in how I can return home.' A small chuckle oddly rumbled in his throat. 'At least for now, I don't have to worry about sunburns… probably. I mean, there's hardly a chance with the ozone not ripping apart in this time period.'
-Hours Later-
With the sun peaking through the thickened clouds and some rocking of the waves, Maui was able to slowly wake up from his rest. Yawning, he sat up and scratched his scalp before seeing the sight in the distance.
'Seems we're finally here.' Maui thought with anticipation as he kept staring at the recognizable island.
Getting up, he popped several joints and was about to talk to Naruto when he saw something was wrong.
"Why aren't you steering?"
Naruto didn't answer as he was currently in a meditative pose with the oar slipped in between the space of his arm with his eyes closed shut and seemingly dead to the world. And oddly enough, Heihei was calmly relaxing on Naruto's lap without a peep.
Maui didn't like seeing the Keyblade wielder doing such a thing and went up to him. Rippingly slipping the oar from Naruto's arm hold, the demigod pushed the whiskered man off the boat. And the malnourished rooster landed face first onto the boat before looking around in utmost confusion.
…..
The results were instant moments later with the Uzumaki dragged back onto the boat by the Ocean spirit, soaking wet and glaring at Maui.
"The hell is your problem!? I had it handled!"
The tattooed man didn't reply right away as he stared into the whiskered man's eyes as they seemed flickering in different colors before settling to it's normal and unusual-
"Answer the question, dammit!"
Snapping back into focus, Maui returned the glare. "Why weren't you steering?"
"I was."
"Didn't look like it."
"Oh I was and the Ocean was helping me."
"While doing what? Resting?"
"I was meditating."
"Same difference."
"Not when I'm trying to gain energy from nature itself."
"...How is that even possible?"
"I don't look like it, but I'm a certified sage. And us sages draw in nature energy to help strengthen us and replenish our reserves." Naruto clicked his tongue as he felt not much was gained from this latest session. 'I know I haven't been able to reach the level I was years ago, but this is ridiculous.'
"Whatever you say, Naruto." Maui said in a dismissive tone as he resumed the steering position as they were briefly taken off course from the recent skuffle.
Naruto rolled his eyes as his mind wandered towards the island they were heading.
Despite not gaining much from his Sage method of replenishing what he could on his reserves, Naruto was able to truly sense his surroundings. From the crisp, clean salty air to the ocean surrounding and carrying the boat. The world around him was very clean with no sign of pollution at all…
And it was very satisfying on the feeling.
'Oh Pam would so love feeling this if she was here.' He thought in bitterment as he missed her and the others dearly.
While meditating, there were a few things he picked up on that peaked his intrigue.
The first was the very ocean as he picked up the Spirit that was helping the task in restoring Te Fiti's heart. He didn't know if it was some sort of deity or something else… something more. It reminded him of how he felt on the rare conversations with Yggdrasil, a member of the Parliament of the Green. Even with Pam when she really taps into her Green powers. And it wouldn't pass him if he felt such a thing if Selina started dwelling more into her Red powers.
Second, Naruto sensed the enormous concentration of Nature energy coming from Moana… well to put it more accurately: the Heart of Te Fiti inside of her necklace. He knew it was apart of the Supreme Goddess of the Polynesian Pantheon, but this was absolutely ridiculous.
'No wonder it's pretty much sought after.' Naruto thought with hidden awe. 'The amount inside that thing could make one command over Creation… or Destruction.' He then hummed a little. 'Wonder if I tapped into it- No! Don't wanna get drunk off of its power on accident.'
The third, however, troubled him; feeling this darkness flowing through the ocean and spreading all over.
'Would possibly explain when I asked the Ocean for some fish to eat, it wouldn't give me one at all; even a small one as they are just gone.'
Not exactly gone, but any mobile sea life running away from this darkness as it wouldn't consume and kill them.
Naruto would've searched more on that darkness if it weren't for Maui harshly knocking him out of his meditation.
'That feeling… it was a lot like the-'
*GROOOOOOOOWL*
The harsh growl from the Uzumaki's stomach knocked him out of his thoughts and startled the nearby demigod.
"...Well that's a sound I shouldn't hear all so very loud."
"Ya think."
With there hardly any food in the boat's compartment, the rations had to be used sparingly among the three people and rooster on board. Naruto's metabolism is not entirely great as he needs to eat a lot to keep up at times. And it doesn't help that he needs a whole lot more now than ever in order to replenish his strength.
After reaching the nearby island and getting Maui's Hook back, the three will need to find some food to help restock the compartment as neither knew how long this journey will last.
*Sniffle*
It was faint, but Naruto was able to hear Moana start whimpering in her sleep. And he distinctively knew that kind of whimper anywhere.
'Must be having a nightmare.' He thought, kneeling down to the island princess. Naruto then gently shook her shoulder. "Moana, wake up."
"No…"
"Moana, you need to wake up."
"No…" Tears slowly formed in her eyes with her breathing becoming a little erratic.
"Moana-"
"NO!"
With her latest scream, Moana jumped from her place on the boat; startling the two men in the process. Her head whirled around as she heavily breathed to calm down her heart.
"Hey, are you alright?"
"Yeah…" She panted out. "Just a bad dream."
"Enjoy your beauty rest?"
Naruto quickly moved his head around and gave a death glare at the demigod for such a rude comment. The publisher never spoke negative with such things as his eldest daughter, ward and girlfriends have been dealing with nightmares. He always did his best to help calm them down as they were quite bad with how they went.
So with Moana dealing with such a thing, one can argue his brotherly/fatherly instincts quickly took over. Especially with him growling a little at Maui.
"She was having a nightmare."
"Big whoop."
Suddenly a huge looming shadow covers the tiny boat, gasping, Moana turns around to face the towering rock ahead of them. It was once the core of a volcano long gone. And beneath the volcanic remnant was a thick forest past the brief shoreline they were heading into.
"Muscle up, you two! We're here!"
Getting helped up by Naruto, Moana wiped her eyes of any tears and grime. "You sure this guy's gonna have your Hook?"
"Tamatoa? Oh he'll have it. He's a scavenger, collects stuff, thinks it makes him look cool. And for Tamatoa, trust me, my Hook is the coolest collectible."
"That doesn't really seem like a thing to brag about." Naruto commented, causing Moana to snicker; which no doubt helped her out from her nightmare scare.
Maui ignored this as he docked the boat on the shoreline and gives food to Heihei.
With Naruto jumping off the boat, he grabbed some rope and went to the nearest rock before tying it down so the boat won't leave by natural occurrences. Even though the Ocean spirit won't let that happen, the Uzumaki wasn't gonna take that chance.
Walking along the sandy, rocky shore, Moana cranes her neck towards the towering rock with frigate birds flying around it. "And he lives… up there?"
"Oh no no no." Maui began, pulling the boat further into the shore. "That's the entrance to Lalotai."
Moana gasps in horror. "Lalotai?! Realm of Monsters?" She soon coughed into her hand to quickly compose herself, but didn't fully work as her voice was traced with worry. "We're going to the Realm of Monsters?"
Maui let out a boisterous laugh. Calming down slightly, he spoke. "We? No, me and Naruto! You are going to stay here with the other chicken!"
Moana looked at Heihei for a moment in slight confusion before briefly glancing over to see Naruto give Maui a look that practically read 'Really?'.
Maui soon chuckled at his own joke. "That's what I'm talking about, gimme some!"
The demigod held his hand up for Mini-Maui to high five him, who leans on his Hook and looked at Maui's upheld hand with disinterest.
"C'mon that was a good one. How do you not get it? I called her a chicken and there's a chicken on the boat!" Maui still saw the bland look on his tattooed counterpart's face. "I know she's human, but that's not the- you know what, forget it, forget it, I'm not explaining it to you, cause then it's not funny!"
"Okay, few things." Naruto spoke up as he pushed down a few fingers in listing things off. "One, I didn't think it was funny; which your friend shares the same feeling as I do. Two, you sound like a crazy person talking to a tattoo; even though we know is sentient. And three, you sounded an awful lot like this demented clown I know and that was unsettling."
Moana rose her chest high, trying to look confident as she brandished her oar. "I-I can defend myself!"
"Yeah, no. Coconut pirates are one thing, but we're talking about actual monsters! Creatures that mankind has feared for years!"
"I'm not scared."
"Well, we'll see about that." Was all Maui said before jogging into the forest.
Naruto sighed, summoning his Keyblade as was about to head after the tattooed demigod when Moana spoke. "You're not serious in leaving me behind."
"I was considering it." Moana's gaze was a mix of hurt and anger, until Naruto held up his hand. "For one, I have to reluctantly agree with Maui that where we're going, monsters are going to be present. Who knows how big and strong they'll be, no doubt will be tougher than those Kakamora yesterday. And I've faced beings much stronger than they were."
Moana was saddened and looked like someone kicked her pet pig, Pua.
"But this is your mission, Moana, and I can already tell you'll follow regardless." The corner of his lip twitched upward. "Besides, who else can help me reel the doofus in."
This changed the island princess' mood… slightly.
"You'll just have to stay close though." Naruto's eyes traveled along the treeline. "Something tells me the path to Lolotai's entrance isn't going to be a simple forest trek and mountain climb."
The island princess slowly nodded and was about to follow the Keyblade wielder before digging into the boat's compartment to pull out feed for Heihei. Said malnourished rooster didn't do much with the food presented to him, but after she pushed his head down gently he started eating.
...Well more like merely pecking and playing with the pile.
Jogging through the forest, the two mortals did their best to catch up to Maui. Afterall, the demigod did get a head start and appeared a bit faster; no doubt eager to get to Lolotai's entrance as soon as possible.
As they headed through the first leg of their little journey, Naruto frowned as he looked all over.
Moana was able to catch this, making her voice some concern. "Is there something wrong?"
"Do you hear anything? Asides from the nearby ocean and breeze?"
Blinking, Moana focused a bit on the surroundings and found… nothing…
"That's strange." She said, looking around through a bush and other growths. "There should at least be some birds chirping or animals rustling somewhere."
"Yet there ain't any." Tightening his grip on his Keyblade, Naruto kept moving forward while being more on guard now. "Not to mention, I'm starting to see a bunch of the local flora withering and rotting."
Passing by another set of trees, the two mortals saw a small riverbed and saw much of the local plant life pretty much dead. Not far away from the stream lay some animals lying on the ground, unmoving as it clearly showed the inevitable fact. And coming out of the stream was an inky black substance that was all too familiar to the island princess.
"The sickness…" Moana muttered with widened eyes. "It's here…"
With a narrowed glance, Naruto clearly knew something was clearly wrong.
'It definitely looks like-'
Suddenly, the pair heard something crashing through the trees.
Moana thought it might've been either Maui or some animals that was relatively alive. The source of it all revealed itself as it burst out of the tree tops and started swinging around on the nearby tree branches to show it was neither option.
It appeared monkey-like with it covered in blue fiur, appearing lighter in color around the head and torso while darker at its arms, legs and long tail. The center of its face was pitch-black with jagged edges and two glowing, yellow eyes. The inner sections of the ears were a light purple color, same as it's large paws and feet, which ended with sharp black claws. It oddly wore golden bracelets and anklets with the most distinct feature being the Heartless symbol emblazoned on its chest.
Taking a step back, Moana held her oar in front out of worry. "Monster!"
"Close." Naruto pointed his Keyblade at the creature. "Heartless."
It wasn't long before more of these monkey-like Heartless appeared on the tree tops. There were even those of the more feminine side with the fur being different shades of brown. Instead of golden bracelets and anklets, they were yellow and blue and on top of their head lay a red bow.
-Insert Kingdom Hearts 3: Rowdy Rumble-
Out of nowhere, the newly arrived Heartless leaped down from the trees and came at the two humans with the intent to kill.
Moana was the first to attack as she swung her oar and smacked the male monkey Heartless in the face before jabbing it's chest. It retaliated by throwing a punch at the island princess. She narrowly evaded the blow as a nearby dead tree took the hit, which left quite the crack along the trunk.
Wasn't long after did the tree break in half, toppled over and fell into the nearby river.
'Either that tree was barely at its last legs or that creature's strength is more than I thought.' Moana thought with worry as she started running away from some of the monkey Heartless.
Stabbing one of the feminine monkey Heartless, Naruto whirled around and saw the male variety chasing after Moana. With a quick aim, the Uzumaki casted a spell. "Blizzaga!"
A ball of ice shot out of the Keyblade's tip and rocketed towards Moana's pursuers. Upon impacting one of them, multiple icicles sprouted out as they either impaled or entrapped the darkened creatures.
Seeing their comrades destroyed, the female monkeys bounced and screeched at the Keyblade wielder. A few lunged at him, causing Naruto to jump out of the way before lashing back at them; either being knocked aside or destroyed in a cloud of dark vapors with glowing hearts floating into the sky.
Moana witnessed this display and was no doubt awed and curious with what occurred. Shoving these feelings aside, she ran over and knocked away one of the Heartless that tried to strike Naruto with his back turned.
Naruto barely saw this and gave the island princess a thankful nod before they went back to back. And as he surveyed the surrounding Heartless, Naruto decided to name the male variety Powerwilds with the females called Bouncywilds.
Naruto lashed out and struck the nearest monkey Heartless by him. He had to duck from being kicked by one of the Powerwilds, but gave him a good opportunity. Grasping the offending creature's tail, he yanked hard and swung the male Heartless around. It screeched in pain from both it's tail seeming being dislodged to colliding against it's compatriots.
Channeling power into his Keyblade, Naruto quickly called out another attack as he spun himself and Moana around. "Aero Raid!"
Letting go of his key-shaped sword, the weapon was coated in a blanket of wind and orbited around the two humans in quite the fast pace. The Keyblade struck many of the monkey-themed Heartless with the rest being sent into the air.
Unintentionally, Moana was caught up in the gale force and was sent flying into the air. She screamed in response, causing Naruto to realize what he had done. He was about to jump up and save her from the fall but a Bouncywild crashed into him and sent him away.
Despite the new sensation she was experiencing, Moana had to suppress the mood and decided to lash out. As she fell, the island princess swung her oar at the nearby, airborne Heartless as they were knocked back down towards the ground or collided against the others. Plummeting towards the earth, Moana reached out her hand and was barely able to grasp onto a thick tree branch. With a bit of a yank, she ended up feeling her shoulder and elbow pop from the action, causing her to wince at the combined sensation. And this ended up causing her to slip and fall to the ground, but not as bad if she fell from a very high spot in the air.
With his Keyblade back into his grasp, Naruto was ready to continue fighting what remaining Heartless there were in the vicinity. But it seemed that a good portion surrounded themselves in dark vapors and disappeared while others ran back into the forest to regroup and fight at a later time with more numbers.
Catching his breath, Naruto whirled around and ran over to where Moana landed at. He helped her up as she soon rubbed what spots were quite sore from her latest fall.
"You alright?"
"Yeah, I think so." She said, awkwardly rubbing her arm while still holding onto her oar. "Though my arm's gonna feel a bit numb."
Naruto sighed as he rubbed the back of his head. "If I didn't use so many spells just now, I could've helped you on that."
"Really? How?"
"A spell I know called Cure, along with it's few variants." Came the response. "Helps restore one's health and injuries, to certain extents. But since my power is pretty low for the time being, I don't know if casting Cure would be enough."
If he was able to manifest his Vanitas attire, Naruto could probably be able to pilfer what potions, ethers and elixirs are left in his utility belt. He had lost track of what he used up back at Maximillian shipping, so he wouldn't be surprised if he was completely out or close to it.
Would suck if it was the former as it would take a much longer time for him to fully recover with how drained he was yesterday. And despite the amount of rest he had on the boat and what small amounts of food he ate, he only had so little returned back to him.
Moana nodded as the two kept on walking towards the Lolotai entrance. Both kept up their guard in case anymore opposition were to come their way. The island princess didn't know what would happen if they were confronted by them too soon. They were no doubt overwhelmed by those creatures, but Naruto kept a cool head when facing against them.
Speaking of…
"So those monsters we fought earlier…"
"They are called Heartless."
"Right… How do you know them anyways?"
"Had my fair share of experiences dealing with them back home." A frown crossed his features. "But I'm very curious as to why they are here of all places."
"...I don't understand."
"It's really hard to explain, Moana." He said in an apologetic tone. "All I know is that these creatures of darkness can add more to their ranks by taking the Hearts of other people." Naruto then gestured his Keyblade in his grasp. "And they are extremely attracted to the Keyblade as it's the only thing so far that can effectively take care of them."
"...So they didn't come from Lolotai?"
"Nope. But from what I figure, we might be seeing more of them very soon; even in Lalotai given the place is a hive of monsters and darkened creatures."
The island princess swallowed a lump in her throat, no doubt adding more anxiety to the ever present one given where they were heading to very soon.
It didn't take the pair much longer to make it to the towering rock as they soon saw Maui, who was currently climbing.
Not wanting to be left behind, the pair of mortals did their best to traverse the landmass with no form of supporting equipment; just their hands, feet and natural reflexes. And Moana's oar was strapped onto her back -while Naruto dismissed his Keyblade- as neither wanted to lose them on the climb up.
Afterall, they need every available limb for the climb. For one wrong move, a slip of a hand or foot, then they would be dead at a moment's notice.
'Wish I had chakra right now,' Naruto thought, grasping onto an outward rock. 'Would've made the climb so much easier by just walking.'
Hearing their approach, the demigod spoke as he got to a good portion of the sheer cliff. "You sure took your time." He his head back around and expected to see only Naruto, yet he frowned in seeing Moana not far away from the whiskered man in an awkward, yet successful pace. The demigod was surprised at first before narrowing his eyes. "Why didn't you stay behind?"
Feeling the question directed to her, Moana answered. "Would've gone after you anyways."
Maui rose a brow before seeing Naruto smirking at him.
"There's no stopping her, ya'know."
The demigod rolled his eyes before resuming his climb. "Well then… If you end up kicking the weave basket because of this, Moana, then it ain't my fault."
"...Wow~ What a booming sense of confidence." Moana drawled out.
With the pair of mortals following beneath him, Maui spoke something that crossed his mind. "So, daughter-of-the-chief. I thought you stayed in the village, y'know kissing babies and things."
Maui ends up pulling out rock and -arguably un/intentionally- drops it towards the island princess, who avoids it. Said girl didn't like either the comment about her personal life and the demigod's recent action.
"Why the sudden interest anyways, Maui?" Naruto questioned, carefully pulling himself higher up with very little opportunities of finding good stable rocks. "You could've asked on ride prior to coming here."
"Hey, I'm just trying to understand why her people decided to send, how do I phrase this… her of all people?"
"Don't talk about me like I'm not here."
"Oh I know and quite frankly, I don't care."
"...Well to answer your question. It wasn't my people that sent me, the Ocean did." Moana states this in an a-matter-of-factly way.
All this caused Maui to blow a raspberry. "The ocean? Makes sense, you're what, eight-?"
"Fifteen, actually."
"-Can't sail? Obvious choice."
"It chose me, for a reason!"
"If the ocean's so smart, why didn't it just the Heart back to Te Fiti itself?"
This made both Moana pause in her climb for a moment and think on the same question Naruto previously thought.
Still climbing, Maui continued. "Or why didn't it bring me my Hook back? The ocean's straight up kooky dukes! But I'm sure it's not wrong about you. You're the chosen one!" He said in a mocking tone.
Naruto rose a brow on this, but this gave him the opportunity to jab back at the demigod. "Maybe on why it didn't give you back your Fish Hook is because it wanted to further punish you on what you did." Pulling himself higher and higher, Naruto explained. "After all, if you suddenly got your precious Fish Hook while still on your island, you wouldn't have suffered your transgression all that well and you would've skedaddled to parts unknown."
Maui merely grumbled at this while Moana smirked for a brief moment.
It wasn't much longer for the trio to reach the mountain top. Relaxing a bit from the climb, the two mortals drank in the sight of the vast ocean from their positions. And the breeze gently caressing their hair and skin helped cool them down from what sweat they produced in their recent activity.
Breathing in, Moana muttered to herself. "The Ocean chose you for a reason."
Naruto barely heard her and was going to talk to her when he heard Maui speak.
"If you start singing, I'm gonna throw up."
Moana merely groaned in response while Naruto snorted.
"Strong words coming from someone whose introduction was a musical number."
Moana did not anticipate the level of sass coming from the whiskered man next to her. Thus she soon let out a laugh while just lost it while Maui gave Naruto a glare. This was returned with the Uzumaki shooting the demigod a haughty grin.
Yet that grin turned upside down as Naruto's eyes wandered the mountain top. "Hey… where's the entrance?"
Moana realized this as well as she didn't see any hint of how they can enter Lalotai anywhere from here.
With a completely serious face, Maui approaches the center of the mountaintop. "That's because it only appears after a human sacrifice."
Moana freezes and looks at Maui horrified. "WHAT?!"
In response, Naruto quickly summoned his Keyblade and was about to attack when Maui busted up laughing.
"I'm kidding!" Bellowed out the demigod as he tried to catch his breath. "Man, you're so serious!"
"That's not something to joke about!"
With a few chuckles escaping his lips, Maui took in a large breath of air before strongly blowing at the ground. Both mortals coughed for a bit, due to the large dusty sandstorm Maui just made. When everything settled down, Naruto and Moana saw a huge carving of a face with intricate patterns all over.
"Welp, here it is: the gate to Lalotai." Maui pointed out before he went into a stance and started chanting to what Naruto realized was some sort of Haka. Once it was done, the demigod leapt into the air and slammed onto what was the stony visage's nose.
In an instant, the ground beneath them shook longer than it should. And before Naruto could ask about it, he heard stone grating against another and saw the gate opening up.
Peering down the opening, both Moana and Naruto saw a deep… dark… hole with the only thing standing out was the itty, bitty blue and purple light far below.
The two mortals were so engrossed in the sight before them did they not notice Maui coming up behind the Keyblade wielder.
"Don't worry; it's a lot farther than it looks."
With a simple pat on the back, Naruto stumbled forward and tumbled down into the hole.
"FUCK YOU, MAUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII~!"
…..
…..
…..
…..
…..
"HOW LONG IS THIS GONNA-"
*SPLASH*
Horrified at what Maui did, Moana stood there in shock as Maui laughed before performing a cannonball.
"CHEEHOOOOO~!"
…..
…..
…..
…..
…..
"I AM STILL FALLINNGGGGGGGGG~!"
*SPLASH*
Shaking herself out of her shocked stupor, Moana breathed in and out in rapid succession before taking the plunge herself. And several moments after passing the gate did it close with a loud bang.
-Lalotai-
The moment Naruto hit the water's surface -in quite the painful belly flop- he wasn't slowly sinking in at all; he was being dragged under by some unseen force.
Along the trip through the glistening purplish-blue tinted waters, the Uzumaki did his best to adjust himself to be upright. And not a moment too soon as he was spat out.
Seeing the height of this new fall, Naruto needed a way to break most of it. Luckily for him, there were some vines hanging around. Quickly grasping one, Naruto swung around before the current line broke; prompting him to reach out towards another.
Sliding all the way down to the end of the one vine, Naruto was forced to let go and performed a recovery roll upon contacting with the ground.
"Ow, ow, ow!" Naruto cried out, cringing on the bit of pain in his palms. "Where's some ointment where ya need some!"
Wanting to distract himself, Naruto took notice of his surroundings and was amazed with what he was seeing now. The dark blue sky was in fact the ocean. Nearby, a massive creature covered in spines and spikes lumbers past. And the surrounding spongy objects, coral and flora were truly alien and exotic that would no doubt make Pam froth with joy in hopes of studying and procuring them for back home.
'Man, if there was a way in taking samples of these; Pam's work will be booming.'
*THUD*
Turning to his side, Naruto saw Maui in a victory pose.
"And he sticks the landing!" Called out the demigod… before being punched in the face. "WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?"
"FOR PUSHING ME, YOU DUMBASS TEME!"
"WELL YOU SHOULD'VE BEEN MORE-"
Maui would've continued yelling at the whiskered man if it weren't for the human torpedo crashing and bouncing off of him.
"GAH! MY BACK!"
Naruto let out a loud bark of a laugh upon seeing this. "Serves you right, Maui."
"AHHHHH!"
Naruto quickly noticed Moana's falling form as she tumbled down the nearby cliff. Rushing over, the publisher looked down in utmost concern.
"Well…" Looking over, Naruto saw Maui in a similar position beside him. "She's dead…" Standing up, he clapped his hands before walking away. "Okay, let's get my Hook."
"You can't just leave her down there!"
"I can and I am."
Growling at Maui's retreating form, Naruto jumped down the cliff and went after the island princess.
After several lunges and careful climbs downward, Naruto found her lying on the ground, wrapped in some sort of slimy, disembodied tentacle. Coming up to her, he realized the tentacle was in fact… a tongue.
"Ew, ew, ew! Get it off! Get it off!"
"Hey, I'm here."
It didn't take long for Naruto to get the slimy appendage off of her. Once on her feet, she gave him a quick 'thank you'.
*SQUEEE*
The small moment of repreve ended quickly as the two mortals saw a small cloud of eight-eyed bat-like creatures flying down and encircling them.
Quickly having his Keyblade back out, Naruto went into a battle stance alongside Moana, who quickly got her oar at the ready.
"Wait… How did that stay intact from your fall?"
"Questions later, fight now!"
"Right."
One of the creatures came right at them, causing Naruto to swing his Keyblade and bashed it's face; leaving quite the mess as it fell onto the ground with the skull cracked open.
Not taking mind of what he killed, Naruto attacked and defended against these monsters the pair were up against.
With Moana, she did her best in fending off against them. All she could really do was smack each of them and hoped they would go away or stay down. But it wasn't enough with how many there were.
Fed up with this, Naruto needed to clear some space. "Thundaga!"
Lighting rained down upon the cloud of bat-creatures, electrocuting and stunning the lot of them.
With them preoccupied in their current status, Moana struck the nearest ones; causing a pair to fall off the nearby cliff and quickly got eaten by a giant, roaming monster. Not knowing what happened to them, the island princess repeated her same action over and over again on what adversaries were left on the battlefield.
A few of the monsters soon got out of their airborne paralysis and dove right at Naruto. He wasn't fast enough at the time as he received some scratches on his body, but nothing threatening.
Retaliating, Naruto jumped after the ones that just attacked him and smacked them into the ground with his Keyblade. He then positioned himself and slammed his key-shaped sword into one of the monsters, ending it for good before playing 'golf' with another's head and sent it flying away from them.
"And that's that."
Moana breathed a sigh of relief in order to catch her breath. She then noticed the bit of death around them and cringed at the sight.
"Sorry you had to see that, Moana."
"Yeah, I know… It's just…"
"Unsettling."
The island princess nodded.
"It's not easy to get used to. Believe me, I know all too clearly."
"Okay…" She then took better notice of her surroundings and was marveled with what was before her eyes. "So this is Lalotai... It's... scary."
"Then we gotta be careful. Even more now in getting back to wherever Maui's at. And Moana…"
"Yeah?"
"Despite what Maui said, the Ocean might be on something good with ya." He said with a small smile. "You did good back there."
Moana smiled in response.
The pair made their way through the monster infested landscape with utmost caution. Neither knew what to expect down here, making them a bit triggered; even the battle experienced Uzumaki.
Suddenly, a terrifying ape like creature with a spooky tribal mask leaped in front of the pair and lunged towards them. In response, both Naruto and Moana swung their respective weapons at the creature and sent it flying back. As it rocketed away, it was soon struck by a geyser exploding from underneath at just the perfect timing, sending the monster up into the ocean above.
With that creature away from them, the two humans continued their trek through Lalotai in hopes of finding their demigod companion.
*GROOOOOWL*
Moana quickly went into a battle stance and looked all over. "What was that?"
"That… would be me." Naruto sheepishly said and chuckled in seeing her face. "I'm… getting quite hungry." He then swirled his head from side to side. "Wonder if we can find those monsters we fought and cook them."
Moana adopted an appalled, disgusted look.
"Oh please. After being forced into eating a big bowl of raw, crawling bugs and worms, you'd enjoy anything else."
A shiver went up his spine on the horrible memory of Ma Toad serving him such meals during his days training as a Sage back at Mount Myoboku. He would never know if he'll ever overcome that sensation of something barely alive and crawling through his throat and stomach before truly dying in his stomach acid.
Then again, he involuntarily swallowed a big ass raven… whole… and alive… and threw it up later in his fight against the Edo Tensei Nagato because of Itachi. So there's that memory to consider as well.
Moana somewhat weighed her options before shaking her head as she moved on ahead as she didn't know how to properly respond back to Naruto.
Rounding the corner and passing by several weirdly looking rocks, the pair saw some sort of cave entrance that was underneath a giant seashell. Wanting to investigate, they made their way towards the edge, peered inside and were immediately awed at the spectacular view at the enormous cavern's center.
What they were seeing was the largest pile of gold, jewels and other treasures they'd ever seen in their entire lives.
'Oh boy… if Selina were to see this, she'd no doubt cream herself.'
Traveling his eyes upwards, the Uzumaki caught onto an object which stood out the most as it was embedded at the very top of the treasure pile.
"Maui's Fish Hook." Moana voiced as she too saw their current target.
It was a massive, bone-like weapon resembling an ancient looking fish hook. On the handle, it was wrapped in some sort rope-like material. And given the amount of light hitting the bone, Naruto saw there were intricate carvings made along the surface.
"Oh yeah~"
Hearing the sudden whisper behind them, Moana was the first to react as she punched the being behind her without thinking.
"OW! AGAIN!"
Whirling around, the two saw it was Maui as he was nursing his sore jaw.
"Oh! Sorry!" Apologized the island princess. "I thought you were a monster!"
"I'm not." Naruto said as he crossed his arms. "You had it coming sneaking up like that." Maui's eye twitched at this and glared at the Uzumaki. Said man ignored this and moved his head in gesturing the pile in the cavern's center. "Found your Hook, by the way."
"And you're right; this Tomatoa guy really likes his treasure."
"Yeup~" No longer massaging his jaw, Maui stepped in front of Moana. "Now I believe you should stay."
"What? No!" She told him, "I-I-I'm the one-"
"Listen, for a thousand years, I've only been thinking of keeping this hair silky, getting my hook, and being awesome again." Maui began tying his hair back in a topknot bun. "And it's not getting screwed up by a mortal who has no business inside of a monster cave except-" Maui stopped short as he spotted a seashell with golden stripes nearby. Looking back at the island princess, a devilish grin formed on his face. "Except... maybe as bait."
"Huh?"
"Alright, here's the plan," Maui said as he pointed out the nearby seashell. "You are the bait. You go in, be as loud as obvious as possible, distract him, let me get my Hook" He then turned his attention towards Naruto. "You are to wait to make sure nothing goes wrong, you got that?"
Naruto didn't really pay attention now as his attention was elsewhere.
"Naruto? Are you listening?"
Once again, he ignored the demigod.
Fed up with this, Maui held up his hand in front of Naruto's face and snapped his fingers several times in gaining his attention.
This time, Naruto was able to pay attention.
"Ah, what?"
"Glad to finally get your attention."
"Sorry, what were you saying?"
"The plan in getting my Hook back. What got you so preoccupied?"
"Oh that little guy that just entered the cave."
"What?" Spoke the two Polynesians.
Peeking into the cavern, they saw what resembled as a small mammal, ranging from a rodent to a feline to a marsupial. It's fur was white with small pink bat-like gothic-styled wings on it's back. There was a red "pom pom" like ball of fur on a thin, wiry antenna that bobbed up and down on it's head as it moved across the floor. And to finish off it's appearance was decently sized, round red nose situated underneath it's squinted eyes.
"It… It's…" Moana mustered out before squealing. "ADORABLE!"
"And you said that the Kamakora were cute when we first saw them yesterday." Maui commented. "Remember how that turned out?"
The island princess ignored him as she kept watching the adorable creature float in a hop and a skip… towards the treasure pile. She then adopted a curious expression when seeing the creature inspecting the gold and jewels before pulling out something from out of nowhere.
"What is that it's holding?"
Eyeing the cute creature more intently, Naruto spoke what came to mind. "It looks like a satchel or a pouch… And it seems the little guy's putting some of the treasure into it."
"Oh~ there's a lot of great materials this time around, Kupo!"
Hearing the cute, adorable and joyful voice coming from the creature made Moana become all giddy. 'Oh I just wanna hug and cuddle him so much~'
From his spot, Maui voiced his thoughts. "Okay, change of plans…"
With the three entering the cave, they immediately hid behind several large rocks and making their way around the area. The only sound echoing in the cavern was the sound of coins and jewels sliding down the pile and being put away into the small creature's purse pouch.
"Why can't we just go walk up there and get it." Moana pointed to the Hook.
"Go up there and Tamatoa will kill you! Just stick to the plan." Maui whispered out.
"Right~ Letting the little guy keep taking Tamatoa's treasure until he shows up and is pissed beyond belief." Naruto muttered out. "Can't we use some other plan? I don't feel comfortable using that guy as bait… not even without letting him know in the first place."
"Well it's already happening now and can't do anything else." Responded the demigod as they kept moving behind the rocks. "Would've had Moana here distract Tamatoa and make him talk about himself… and he really loves bragging how great he is."
The island princess groaned. "You two must get along swell."
Naruto couldn't help but nod in agreement.
"No… not since I ripped off his leg."
This clearly threw the two mortals off.
"Wait, what?"
"You ripped off his-?"
It was then did they notice Maui was gone.
"Did he just pull a Batman on us?"
"...Who… What is Batman?" Moana questioned, only to get a quick 'don't worry about it' response from Naruto.
Before they could find Maui's whereabouts, they heard a loud series of objects sliding down and grating against each other before clanging against the stony floor. Looking back to the large treasure pile, they saw the cute little creature holding onto a giant piece of jewel-like material that should be quite impossible for it to carry. And in its spot was the treasure falling down like an avalanche in order to fill in the void.
The results were instant with the ground shaking.
"Oh~ it's happening again, Kupo." Spoke the odd, winged ball of fluff as it miraculously shoved the large crystal into its pouch, which oddly didn't bulge from it's size at all! And by the sound of things, the little guy wasn't even frazzled at all; just whimsically surprised. "Probably shouldn't have pulled out the biggest piece quite yet."
From their hiding spots, both mortals realized Tamatoa was arriving, but from where? There was no other entrance other than from the small cavern opening and the oceanic ceiling.
But their question was soon answered as the treasure mound started moving! Rising from the cavern floor and revealed that all of the treasure was piled on top of a large shell. A giant claw came out of the earth, snatched the small creature by it's pom-pom-like antenna and lifted it up into the air. Long legs came out soon after with one appearing to be a stump towards the rear. And before long, a head popped out of the confines of the "bedazzled" shell with its eyes peering at the treasure stealer.
'Maui should've actually told us that Tamatoa… was a gargantuan coconut crab!' Naruto yelled out inside his head. 'Sure he's not as big as some of the Bijuu and most animal summons from the Elemental Nations, but c'mon!'
"Ooh hoo hoo oh! What have we here?" Tamatoa questioned, revealing his crooked teeth from a smile before it quickly turned into a frown. "Oh, it's you…"
"Hello~ there, Kupo!" Spoke the creature, waving at the giant crustacean.
"Are you here stealing my shinies… again?" Tamatoa practically facepalmed himself. "Oh, right~ of course you are. Why else aren't you here for, you scavenging Moogle."
"Why of course, I am; Kupo. I decided to take and make good use of them; unlike you, whose just keeping all of these synthesis materials all to yourself and not doing anything with them."
From their hiding spots, Naruto and Moana couldn't believe what the cute creature (which was identified as a Moogle) was saying. Not even defending himself from his supposed crime!
Shaking his gargantuan head, Tamatoa narrowed his eyes. "This is like, what, the seventh... eighth time this month?"
"Tenth, actually."
"...Okay, this time I'm gonna eat you so you don't ever come back after throwing you out."
"Thanks for letting me know, Kupo."
"Should I be concerned?" Moana questioned. "The little guy doesn't seem all that fazed… oddly… for his own safety."
"And he's gonna get eaten." Naruto stated, before he stood up straight. "Not unless I do something about it."
Hearing this, Moana looked to her side and saw her whiskered companion moving out of his hiding place. "Naruto!" She harshly whispered. "What are you doing!?"
Walking towards the giant sea creature, Naruto took in an intake of air and yell. "HEY!"
Tamatoa, who had his mouth hung open and was ready to drop the Moogle into his mouth, paused his actions and turned his attention downwards and saw someone else was in his humble abode.
"A human?" Without notice, Tamatoa's other claw snatched the Uzumaki from the ground and brought him up to his face. "What are you doing down here in the Realm of-" Naruto somewhat kept moving his head as he tried focusing on his eyes, which were larger than his entire body as they moved independently. This act started to annoy the titanic crustacean. "Pick an eye, please. I-I can't concentrate on what I'm seeing if you keep-"
"I would if you stop moving them!"
Tamatoa did just that before glaring at the mortal within his grasp. "You're a funny lookin' one, aren't you?"
"To you, I am. But I'm not much of a stranger to beings as large, such as yourself."
Indeed he had quite the amount of experience being around animal summons back in the Elemental Nations; more so with the Toads. He got to know them quite well and grew quite used to them… back then; even what brief times he had with the Bijuu. But now, he had the rare chance of seeing a creature of this size again.
Naruto could admit it was an odd refreshing sense for him after so many years.
This somewhat peaked the treasure hoarder's interest in wanting to know a little more of that detail. But he wanted to know the matter at hand. "Why are you here, human?"
Behind Tamatoa, Naruto barely saw Maui from the corner of his gaze; who was readying himself on a rocky ledge as if he wanted to jump onto the crustacean. Just when the demigod was about to jump for it, Tamatoa started moving away; which caused Maui to almost fall.
From her hiding spot, Moana gasped before quickly grasping her mouth to silence herself.
Luckily for Maui, he caught himself onto the ledge just in time.
Unfortunately, Tamatoa heard this -and the small gasp- and was about to look behind him to investigate.
Not wanting to let this happen and reveal his companions' positions, Naruto spoke up. "Because I wanna learn more about ya!"
Turning his gaze back to the mortal in his grasp, Tamatoa spoke. "Excuse me?"
"I admit, I honestly don't know diddly squat about the creatures and the Pantheon governing this corner of the world; much less Lalotai." Naruto briefly saw Maui pull himself back up the ledge, causing the Uzumaki to let out a sigh of relief before he continued talking. "But then I heard of the mighty crab of the sea, who became quite the legend of these parts." Inwardly, Naruto cringed on what he was about to let out of his mouth. "So I had to learn about ya and know -at least- how you became so… crabulous?"
When in doubt with powerful beings, whether they were deities or sentient creatures… stroke their ego… and stroke it real good.
"Are you just trying to get me to talk about myself," Tamatoa spoke in a threatening tone, drawing Naruto closer and closer to his face. "Because if you are…" The giant crab quickly pulled away and wore a bright, cheerful smile. "I will gladly do so!"
"Really?" Naruto questioned while mentally patting himself in being able to distract Tamatoa for Maui's plan to properly move forward.
"In song form!"
"Ohhhh~ you've gotta be fucking kidding me…"
"Oh I would love to hear it, Kupo!"
Naruto ignored the Moogle's cheerful comment from Tamatoa's other claw as he struggled to free his arms. "Nah uh! I am not gonna go through another music montage after hearing Maui's stupid, yet catchy song!"
The gargantuan coconut crab was about to sing when he halted himself upon hearing the words coming from the whiskered man's mouth. "I'm sorry, but did you say-"
Suddenly, a loud noise came from the pile of treasure which resided on Tamatoa's back. Looking at the source, Naruto and Moana smiled in seeing Maui successfully reaching his trusty, magical Fish Hook.
"Hey, Crabcake!"
Tamatoa turned his head around to see his most hated enemy on his back, who now ripped his weapon out of the treasure pile.
"I'm back" Maui gave it a kiss before raising it up. "It's Maui time!"
Tamatoa gasped in utmost shock, which resulted in letting go of both Naruto and the small furry creature.
Not wanting to see the odd, winged being get hurt, Naruto reached out in hopes of catching him. Luckily for him, he didn't have to fully do so with Moana running from her hiding place, jumped and successfully caught Tamatoa's other captive.
"Thank you, Kupo!"
"Heh~ No problem."
Stumbling on his landing, Naruto looked up and saw his demigod companion talking to his sentient tattoo.
"What do ya say, little buddy? Giant hawk?" Mini-Maui quickly nodded, changing into such a creature in response. With a nod, Maui spun his weapon around as it started glowing. "Comin' right up! CHEEHOOOO!"
A bright blue light flashed; briefly blinding Tamatoa before it went down in revealing Maui's new form…
"A fish?"
Yes indeed… a fish.
Dropping onto the treasure pile, fish Maui flopped around for several moments before he yelled once more. "CHEEHOOOO!"
A series of blue flashes soon went off as Maui started transforming in quick successions. From a shark, a chameleon, a reindeer (for some reason any higher presence would know), a bug, a pig then back into his human form; who stumbled in his footing and became quite worried.
'...The hell was that?' Came the resounding thoughts of the three humans.
Tamatoa squinted from the light show before widening his eyes. Realizing what just happened, he hotly smirked with a chuckle escaping his lips.
"Well~ well~ well~ Little Maui's havin' trouble with his Hook. You little semi, mini, demigod!" He flicked his shell, sending Maui downwards. "What a terrible performance! Got your Hook back! But can't swing it like you use to!"
The gargantuan coconut crab picked up Maui and tossed him against the wall. The whole cave shook from the blow. Maui fell to the floor, struggling to get up. As Tomatoa grabbed for him, Maui swung his Fish Hook, but it was no use. He was lifted up and slammed into the ceiling and falling back down into the ground, defeated.
Seeing his most hated foe in such a state made him let out a hearty laugh while dancing around his fallen form while both Naruto and Moana avoided the crab's giant legs. And to add more salt into the wound, Tamatoa took Maui's Fish Hook and placed it back at the very top of his treasure horde.
"Oh, this is too good to be true!"
"What are we gonna do?" Moana worriedly said, still holding onto the cute Moogle in her arms. "We can't move on without Maui's Hook."
"You don't think I know that." Came Naruto's response. In a flash of light, Naruto's Keyblade appeared within his grasp and held it at the ready. "We might as well steal it again and run like hell in order to escape Tamatoa's reach."
From his spot within Moana's arms, the Moogle gasped upon seeing the key-shaped weapon.
'Can it be, Kupo?' He thought in utmost astonishment. 'It has to be!'
Tamatoa turned around to see Naruto wielding his black and white colored Keyblade before seeing Moana. "What's this? Another guest? My~ I should've gotten the memo for such an occasion!"
Tomatoa reached out to snatch Moana. Naruto moved in the way and struck his Keyblade against the crustatian's claw. As it was bounced back, the Uzumaki jumped onto his limb and raced up the length. Seeing the pest on him, Tamatoa tried to smack Naruto like a mosquito; but he gave out a slight breath of surprise upon seeing Naruto leaping out of the way before-
"GAAAHHH! MY EYE!"
-jabbing the Keyblade into his opponent's eye.
In response, Tamatoa flailed about; bumping into the cavern walls while trying to swat Naruto away. In the process, the walls around the entrance caved over, closing everyone off from entering or exiting the crab's domain.
And as for the Keyblader…
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! S-STOP THIS CRAAAAZY THIIIIING!"
-he was holding onto dear life onto his weapon's handle. His Keyblade was stuck in place as Tamatoa held his eye shut like a vice. Because of this, Naruto was practically a ragdoll-
"-OOF!"
-until he lost his grip and rocketed across the cavern and crashed into a rocky wall.
"NARUTO!" Moana cried out, rushing towards her fallen comrade; who landed near Maui's prone form. "Are you alright!?"
"Peachy." Came the groaned response.
Looking up, Moana was outright worried as now Tamatoa unintentionally has both of her companions' primary weapons. Compared to her oar, there was no way they can be able to make it out of the coconut crab's cave alive and without the Fish Hook and Keyblade.
Suddenly, in a flash of light from Tamatoa's eye, the Keyblade disappeared.
"What?"
And in a quick moment, the island princess was momentarily blinded as a pillar of light erupted from Naruto's hand as his Keyblade magically appeared there.
"How in the-"
"It's a thing it does, Moana." Naruto interrupted, stabbing his key-shaped weapon into the ground and hoisted himself up. "Like I said before, I don't know everything-"
"Mr. Keyblader!"
Both Naruto and Moana looked down towards the Moogle within the island princess' grasp as he wiggled his arm out. And within his grasp was-
"An elixir?" Naruto surprisingly said with widened eyes. "How-"
"We'll discuss things later." Interrupted the Moogle as he kept waving the elixir a few more times. "Just take it and stop him, please."
After this was said, the two mortals started noticing the light within Tamatoa's domain darkening considerably. Looking towards the exit, they saw it was blocked off before seeing the ceiling closing up. With the last bit of light from the ocean above cut out, various parts of the cavern started glowing in blue and green lights.
"YOU!"
Naruto and Moana looked up and saw that Tamatoa started glowing as well. His limbs and treasured covered shell took on a neon blue color with parts of his head had a neon magenta glow. The coconut crab's eye glowed white in contrast with the darkened room while the other eye was closed shut, due to what pain he still felt from Naruto's Keyblade.
"I'll enjoy sweet revenge grinding and swallowing your carcass, mortal!"
Seeing the giant crustacean charging at his position, Naruto quickly snagged the elixir from the Moogle as he pushed him and Moana away. He dived in between Tamatoa's legs and moved his way behind the sentient creature. In Tamatoa's brief confusion, Naruto uncorked the elixir bottle and greedily drank its contents until the last drop went down his throat.
Like the name it was called Naruto body nearly lost any pain and gain new vigor from every drop of the drink overdriving everything at once. He felt the elixir doing it's work quite well, invigorating his reserves and health back to their fullest. Naruto even noticed what scrapes and bruises he had on him, despite the amount of lighting hitting his body, quickly going away.
*GROOOOOOWL*
Yet this it didn't solve his hunger problem… at all.
Hearing the echoing growl, Tamatoa whirled around and saw the uneasy look on the whiskered mortals' face.
"Hehehe~" The Keyblade wielder lightly chuckled a bit unhinged as it made the others fighting with him look at him worriedly.
With a roar, the giant crab shot his claw at the mortal in hopes of ensnaring him.
"Balloonra!"
Suddenly a giant, glowing orange balloon suddenly appeared in front of Naruto's form. The moment Tamatoa's claw struck the conjured orb, it burst into smaller multi-colored ones and struck the crustacean in miniature explosions.
"GAAAHH!"
Naruto saw his attack take effect as his opponent was no doubt stunned, but for how long he didn't know. He glanced over to see Moana helping Maui up, doing her best despite her size and strength.
With their exit cut off, they can't escape through the proper means.
'Need to stall Tamatoa long enough for them to hide or find a way out.' Naruto thought, charging at the crustacean and struck his legs.
With each blow, Tamatoa grunted in pain. He kept moving in hopes of evading the hits, but with his many legs being vulnerable, it merely gave Naruto more targets to attack. He even swung his claws down in rapid succession to hit or grab Naruto, but the Uzumaki avoided them by swinging around the massive legs as he kept on attacking.
"Damn. No way besides up…" Maui stated looking at the top of the cave which would be impossible without his Hook and the other two unable to scale the walls. At the very top lied a faint line of light where Tamatoa's home received it's light and possible food source. "Uh, maybe if we can cage that walking crabcake we can escape…" He suggested that knowing a few other larger beings bones can hold it… but sadly they were more dangerous than Tamatoa.
Said coconut crab currently bore an annoyed, frustrated expression as he kept missing his current foe. Bending down to properly find him, Tamatoa saw Naruto was no longer underneath him.
"I have to say you are quiet the missable target. Though it could be that your very smaller than me leading to the reason I am- GAH!"
Moments ago, Naruto formed a Rasengan in each hand and slammed them onto Tamatoa's glistening shell. The force of the blow caused the giant crab to crash into the ground as he let out an agonizing grunt. More was added onto it when Naruto delivered an ax kick on top of his screaming opponent's head.
The force of the second blow caused Tamatoa to accidentally bite down hard onto his tongue. His eyes swirled towards his whiskered foe with utmost hate.
"My tongue!" The creature, interrupted once again, screamed out..
"Oh will you shut up already!"
"I muss...ugh mah woads arr sluuing." Tamatoa said rolling his eyes at the unfortunate fact that he can't hear his own voice for a while.
*GROOOOOOWL*
And once again, Naruto's growling stomach echoed in the cavern, causing the whiskered man to hold himself in slight pain. But he pushed on as he held up his Keyblade used a Thundaga spell, conjuring lighting to strike down his giant foe.
"BAHHH~!" The crap screamed out comically turning black and yellow showing his skeleton in the process that all the gold and other metals on his body increasing the voltage along with the fact that increasing the stay of the effect of the spell.
"Ooooh~ pretty lightshow." Said the Moogle, clapping his hands before turning his head away. "Don't want to have a seizure with the flashing lights."
In an involuntary moment, Maui ended up sniffing the air and muttered out loud. "Something smells burnt."
Moana rose a brow at the demigod's comment and looked over to see her whiskered friend… oddly standing still… for some reason.
What she didn't know, as she couldn't see his face, Naruto's pupils became diluted at the smell of seafood entering his nose.
"Ohh… crab~!"
*GROOOOOOWL*
And… that was the last straw in Naruto's stomach it needed to feed at last! "Can't hold back!" He screamed out before lunging the creature, crashing it to the wall.
"WHOA!" Maui shouted as never saw a mortal do that before. "Go kid! Come on we can… kid?" The demigod blinked as the cavern's glowing, neon lighting highlighted Naruto's smile.
"Oooh~ creepy."
"You said it, little guy."
Indeed it was creepy, even more so once it became more savage as the crabs eyes rolled back and forth still stun from the sudden attack that the silver haired man did.
In any normal situation, Naruto would be outright scared; scared for the lives of his two companions. Trapped inside of a place with a dangerous creature wanting to devour them with hardly any means of escape. The Uzumaki would come up with something to properly save them.
Yet something else was overwhelming him entirely…
*GROOOOOOWL*
Hunger...
"Oh… I don't dig that look…" The tattoo demigod said as it seem very unnerving to him and Moana. It was like the blonde decided he do better as a villain than a hero and that was not a good feeling to have.
"Wha hed mah?" The crab asked to no one, before noticing the orbs in Naruto's hands, "Wha dat?" Soon fear replaced curiosity as he saw the silver haired Uzumaki shoved into his shell, while it was unlikely he can… what's that drilling sound? The eyes soon pop open as the orb was slowly going through his beautiful shell, "Vait~! Ooh caan leaf, juus leaf mah shell a- AHHHHHHHHH~!" It screamed what the man went into the makeshift hole and small but intense sharp bites were entering his body! "OOH CRABCAKES~! Dat hurts~!"
Wanting to get rid of his new annoyance, Tamatoa whirled his body and slammed into the cavern walls, causing rocks to fall from the ceiling and landed on both his treasure covered shell and the floor below. With the rocks hitting him, Tamatoa hoped they would be enough to halter Naruto's attack. And indeed they have with the Keyblade wielder jumping off to avoid the rocks, which started lighting up the cavern with a bright light from up above.
It was at this moment did Maui, Moana and the Moogle properly see blue blood spilling forth from Tamatoa's eye, tongue and shell as droplets hit the cavern floor.
"This… This is really mess up." Maui stood in place only barely stepping to the side when rocks almost hit him, just watching the one sided fight in front of him.
Both the Moogle and Moana nodded respectively as they watched on.
Launching towards the giant creature once landing, Naruto encoated his fist and punched Tamatoa across his ugly mug; causing the crustacean to recoil. Seeing the coconut crab retaliate by slashing at him, Naruto parried the blow with his Keyblade before using his other hand to form another Rasengan. Pouring more power into the attack and without hesitation, Naruto spun in avoiding Tamatoa's claw attack before landing his Ransengan into his opponent's claw wrist joint. The blast of the Uzumaki's attack went outward, blasting the limb inward at an unnatural angle with blue blood pouring out like a geyser from the wound.
"GAAAAAAH! MY ARM!"
"I'm… I'm gonna eat you!" He exclaimed, jumped up and snagged one of Tamatoa's eyes. With his focus entirely on the Uzumaki, the giant crab... started sweating in a cartoonish manner at the sight of such hunger in the mortal's eyes.
The crustacean wouldn't feel such a feeling, hell he shouldn't in the first place. But there was something that was coming off the whiskered human which started making him feel outright fearful for his life.
"W-WA-WEIT! We-e cean tulk abut thes!"
With his Keyblade held up high, a lot of power quickly built up at the blade's tip as it's wielder bore a threatening, cheshire grin. And quite suddenly, the energy exploded outward; coating the blade with energy to truly make it appear like a giant sword.
"MY HUNGER WILL NOT BE DENIED ANY LONGER!"
Off to the side, Maui, Moana and the Moogle could only gape in shock and slight disgust -heavily with Moana- upon seeing the titanic crab's head was cleaved in half. No scream was made as a result with Tamatoa quickly fell dead with a large gash between his eyes, revealing the now destroyed brain underneath.
"...You know, I think we should worry more about him than the monsters out on the sea." Moana muttered out.
"You said it."
Landing on his feet, Naruto's smile merely widened as jumped up and down like a giddy child.
"FOOOD!" He raised his arms as if he struck victory for humankind everywhere… or maybe he went insane from what Maui thought.
"FIRAGA!"
A massive ball of fire launched forth from the Keyblade's tip and struck the crustacean's corpse. The fire soon spread and encompassed the form in an intense, fiery blaze. And before it could spread out and harm others, Naruto quickly formed several clones as the group ran around the bonfire to dig a trench with their respective Keyblades.
"...This is the strangest thing to have happen to me…" The demigod deadpan before looking at his pecs to see mini-Maui shivered while holding onto his legs in fear of the scene that just happen. "There, there buddy." He patted the tattoo gently knowing the same feeling. "So how are you doing princ-" He stopped as he saw the girl seemingly passed out on the ground, no doubt from the bit of gore and insanity of this whole fight. "Yeah kinda figured…" The tattoo being said in an understanding tone, before hoisting her up on his shoulder like a sack of coconuts. "Of course I have to do the grunt work while a new super human takes the glory, yeah no that's fine." He grumbled as the demigod felt that Naruto took his scene to show Moana his skills with the Hook.
"Hey! Wanna join!" Naruto called from the bonfire as he quickly used his Keyblade to slice off a giant, cooked claw.
Thinking for a few moments, Maui soon felt a small rumble in his stomach. With a shrug, the demigod nodded before laying the woman to the ground, before taking the offered claw. Jamming his fist into the opened, cooked socket, he pulled out some crab meat and ate some of it.
"Mmh~ not bad." He said giving the only ever compliment to the greedy crab he hated.
"Ohh~ Can I have some, Kupo?"
"Almost Forgot you were here." Naruto said absentmindedly from seeing the odd being walk up to him. "Can… you ever eat this?" He said inspecting the almost toy-like entity if it can feel hunger.
All the publisher got as a nod as he gave a small jump and snatched what meat there was in Maui's hand.
"Hey!"
"Oh, please. You got more, Kupo." Was all the Moogle said before it sat down and nibbled on the crab meat. "Hmm~ Could use some butter and pepper."
"Eh, what?" Muttered out the demigod on what the cute creature said.
"Dadada~DA~!" He said lifting up the two ingredients it said… but Naruto and Maui looked around as they heard some kind of background music when the being sang out.
"...Where'd you get those?" Maui said as Naruto gave him a look, before realizing he made the musical number so that jiggle for the items wasn't going to bother the laid-back demigod.
"My satchel." The Moogle pointed out to his satchel hanging off him as he soon pulled out a small water canteen. "Welp~ time to eat."
Blinking, the two men saw the Moogle start munching on his meal before they started having their share of food in their respective eating paces.
-Later-
Moana groaned awake as a pleasant smell hit her nose with chatter filling the air. Fluttering her eyes, the island princess wondered what was going on.
"Pass them lemons, please."
Was that… Maui? It had to be...
"Sure."
And that… was Naruto. She was sure of it.
Hoisting herself up, Moana looked over and saw something that outright confused her.
Off to the far side of the cavern, a large pile of crab shells climbed up the walls. Some parts were situated and carefully placed to reach the cavern's top. And from what she could see in the nearest ones were carved up holes as they reached from each piece.
The island princess wondered where all that came from until memories from earlier came rushing through her mind.
"It… It can't be."
"Hey, you're awake, Kupo!"
Looking towards her side, she saw the Moogle wearing some sort of bib with a crab imprinted on the material. And in his grasp was a wooden plate which had crab meat placed on its surface.
"A-Are you eating-?"
"Tamatoa? Yes." Maui confirmed over at his seat with a grin on his face while holding an empty leg of the enemy before tossing it towards the rest of the pile. "And he was delicious~!"
Moana looked rather green as Maui let out a loud belch that echoed throughout the cavern.
"Well mostly due to… this guy's spare ingredients." Naruto pointed the last remains of the leg meat to the Moogle.
"Anytime, Kupo!" He raised his own meat as the trio all scarf down the last of Tamatoa. "Aww, we're done?"
"Yeah, Naruto pretty much took the rest of the meat when we were talking about the Hook." Maui said throwing the last of the shell that he used a makeshift plate to the side.
Naruto looked and gave an apologetic shrug at the woman, "So… sorry if ya didn't get any."
"...Wouldn't be in the mood." Moana then realized something. "How could you eat… all of him anyways?"
"Godly appetite." Maui responded. "Really sucked when stranded on my one island with not much means of acquiring food."
"High metabolism." Was Naruto's answer, earning confused looks from the Polynesian pair. "It's much like Maui's appetite as I need to eat a lot to function properly each day."
Moana slowly nodded before asking another question. "How long was I out?"
"No clue." Naruto gave a small burp as he covered his mouth. "Pardon me." Coughing a little, he continued. "Hard to really tell how long as neither of us could see the sun from down here."
During the time Moana was unconscious, the two men had conversed with each other. Some topics were thrown here and there, but the one most noteworthy was the demigod giving the Uzumaki his most sincere thanks on the fight earlier.
"I say about an hour." The Moogle said taking a pocket watch nearly the size of himself. "Well if the thing is working properly."
"Oh yeah," Maui said giving a suspicious look at the small entity. "Why were you even here?" The demigod question as the Moogle who pocketed some shards of many colours showing colours like white, red, yellow, and many shades of blue into its satchel. "You've been mostly been by yourself, stuffing treasure in your satchel while occasionally eating and drinking as the two of us ate."
"Collecting synthesis materials for my peoples' business." Came the Moogle's answer as he stuffed the items back into his satchel. He then pulled out a notebook and flipped through the pages. "It's what my kind does: we collect and make things." Giving an approving nod, he pulled out a pencil and started scribbling things onto the pages. "It's often a hard job for us out in the field collecting materials. But hearing tales of Tamatoa hoarding countless amounts of them for years, along with other treasures and items, made me want to seek out the trove."
The demigod and two mortals nodded while still wondering more about this Moogle and his kind. The moogle in the meantime continued to go through his inventory all the while humming merrily to himself.
Moana, on the other hand, didn't hold such suspicious towards the strange creature as Maui and Naruto did.
"Aww~ you're so adorable!" Moana quickly snatched the fluffy creature as it failed its small arms around as it was being squeezed to oblivion! "Who's a cute wittle guy? Who's a cute wittle guy? Is it you?! Is it you?!"
Within her grasp, the Moogle's creamy white fur started changing color from pink to slowly transitioning to purple. "Please help me, Kupo! I'm-Gah! You're squeezing too hard!"
Sighing, Naruto spoke. "Mind not doing that. You're making him uncomfortable."
"...Oh, sorry."
Releasing him, the island princess saw a small tick form on the Moogle's forehead before shaking his head.
"Sometimes our kind enjoys them hugs, but I don't like it all that much. With us being so soft and whatnot..."
Realization soon hit the island princess. "Wait… There's more of you!?"
"And I just doomed my kind…" The being little ball droop downwards from the small tad of information being released to this woman. "Also I had said that earlier if you didn't notice, Kupo."
"Question." Naruto began before pulling out a small strand of a blood vein out of his teeth and flicked it away. "How did you know I was a Keyblade wielder earlier?"
"Oh, that's because my people had done business with yours for years." Revealed the Moogle, surprising the others; moreso towards Naruto.
"Really? You know more Keyblade wielders?"
"Personally, no. But a few friends of mine do." The Moogle then sighed. "Unfortunately, the last time many of us had any contact with any of them was roughly a decade ago. And prior to that, business with them was booming. My kind has been in a bit of a slump really."
"What do you mean last contact?" The publisher said as the being lifted its shoulder.
"No clue, there were like thousands at one point and POOF~! All gone, even then it was almost like a small miracle to do business with one." The Moogle explained, "The last ones we did work with was -like I said- roughly a decade ago."
"How so?"
"There was this trio of Keyblade wielders my friends worked with for a time, but one day they just disappeared. And they were essentially the last ones." The Moogle then brought up it's cute little hand up to his mouth, an act which made Moana coo in it's cuteness. "Though I believe there's one person left out there, but he hasn't done any business with us for a handful of years."
"Why?"
"Most of the Keyblade wielders need us to make protective equipment or items. The one who doesn't work with us has unlimited funds to buy our supplies. We work for free just because its fun, it makes more sense to charge them for taking away our fun."
"But do you still do business… outside of these Keyblade wielders?" Inquired the island princess.
"Last time I heard was not to long ago, the only Keyblade wielder left stopped by our new shop at-" The Moogle covered its mouth, "Ah the rules!"
"What rules?" Naruto asked.
The Moogle moved towards Naruto pulling its arm to tell Naruto to lean downwards, which he complied.
As for the Polynesian pair, they looked on in curiosity before eventually chatting amongst each other.
"Sorry, but I almost broke a rule of the World Order."
"World Order?"
The Moogled nodded, "I don't reckon you are native here?" Naruto shook his head 'no'. "Besides the skin tone and Keyblade obviously?" Another shake. "Making sure, few very people like them..." he pointed at the two beings standing nearby, "...Don't know that we -the Moogles- and you Keyblade wielders can cross through other Worlds, like this one."
Naruto reared back his head in surprise and was about to instinctively yell before the Moogle quickly closed his mouth. Calming down -somewhat- Naruto spoke in a whisper. "I can travel to other Worlds?"
"Yes you can, Kupo." The Moogle stated, unknowingly answering many questions lingering in Naruto's mind for some time now. The little being tilted his head before checking out the man's attire. "I take it you didn't know that." Another shake of his head gave the Moogle all he needed to know. "Ah, well I wish I knew how to tell ya how to do that, but I don't even know how the Keyblade wielders naturally do it."
"Wait… then how did you come here?" Naruto asked as the Moogle put its hands on its hips.
"On my Gummi ship!"
"...Gummy what now? Like a gummy bear."
"A Gummi ship. And it's spelled G-U-M-M-I. Not G-U-M-M-Y." Said the Moogle as it adopted a lecture-like pose before Naruto. "It's the safest form of transportation to cross Worlds using Gummi tech. Trying to travel through other means isn't entirely safe, given the Heartless roaming the Lanes Between each World."
"They can do that too!?" Naruto said convince these things were like a virus or a disease if they can do that!
"Unfortunately yes. And they're not the only ones out there."
"Others?"
"Keyblade Wielders, Heartless and Moogles aren't the only ones capable of other worldly travel." The moogle explained. "At least that's what some of my friends told me."
Naruto hummed as he briefly listened to Maui and Moana conversing with one another. He heard the demigod apologizing to the island princess with sincerity. Even thanking her for helping him earlier when he was basically defeated by Tamatoa's claw.
But the Uzumaki went back to his present thoughts of him digesting this amount of information given to him.
After a bit of time, Naruto spoke. "Is it possible for you to take me home?"
"At the moment, no."
"Why?"
"For one, my ship is big enough for only me. And I can imagine it would be outright uncomfortable you squeezing into the cockpit."
Naruto took a moment and indeed envisioned himself crammed into a fetal position -while dislocating certain joints- right behind a sitting Moogle, flying through space. The image alone was rather unpleasant to say the least.
"And two, I don't know the coordinates of your World. So it would be rather hard for me continuously flying all over just to find your home, which could take an unknown amount of time. Not to mention with various Worlds disappearing, many coordinates get thrown off which causes our machines to go all wack."
"Damn…" Naruto said as the being bow slightly as he silently questioned on the topic of Worlds disappearing. But he'll save that for a later time.
"Sorry, I only know a few handfuls of people who can build them quickly. One is letting us take residence upstairs in his shop for ours -who we've been doing some business with and his friends- while the other is being lazy somewhere… probably in a Tower." The Moogle sighed at the lack of people that can help Naruto.
"Figures."
"But I could help commission one for you, Kupo."
This sudden detail brightened up Naruto's mood as a genuine grin formed on his face. "You can?"
"Yeup~" Pulling out his notebook again, he flipped through the pages before writing things down.
"The one in the Tower location owes us Moogles a huge favor, this will let him give you his ship. Or at least provide the parts." It said passing Naruto a laminated card, it said 'Garden Points'. "Now just so you know, we don't know how long it'll take to make as Gummi tech is a bit hard to acquire at times."
Naruto nodded as he pulled out the remains of his wallet and was about to slip it in when the little creature continued talking.
"And for your service of helping me out today, I can transfer about 90% of Tamatoa's treasure and synthesis materials into a new Munni account just for you." Stated the Moogle as he scribbled more into his notebook. "The 10% is for commission for properly sorting out your share."
Naruto nodded as he could understand the bank teller-like details. He then paused and voiced his thoughts. "Money Account?"
"Not Money, Munni; spelled M-U-N-N-I. The currency of the worlds overall."
"You know at this point, I think you're just adding the 'I' just to piss me off." Naruto deadpanned.
"Hey, I'm not the one who set that up, Kupo!" He then pulled out another item from his satchel and handed it over to Naruto. "And here is your Munni Wallet." Naruto didn't say anything as the little creature continued. "Don't let its appearance fool you. That wallet can carry an unlimited amount of funds. And if you use it in different worlds, the currency inside will turn into the place you're currently at."
Naruto hummed as he started pulling things out of his old wallet. Slipping the contents and placed them into the new one, he saw what dollar bills he had turn into golden dust. Placing his fingers back inside, he soon felt coins inside and took a peak to see gold coins before putting them back.
"Pretty convenient." Was all Naruto said before slipping in his "family photos" and other forms of ID and cards inside before discarding his old ruined wallet.
"Indeed it is." The Moogle then handed Naruto his notebook. "Now I need you to write down your information so I can get your account set up. By the time you come across one of my people's shops, you'll get your Munni bank card and information."
"...And what if I want some others to have access to it?" Naruto asked as he wrote down various bits of information.
"Then you'll need to set that up at a later time after your account is set up, Kupo."
Naruto nodded as he finished things up. As he still had one question, "This guy in this Tower… how can I get to him? Or at least get in touch?"
The Moogle pondered for a bit before shrugging. "I could send him a message for ya as we do have a mailing service."
"Are there any other means?"
"Think there's a Gummi phone we have in the market." The Moogle quickly answered. "But like their ship counterparts, the materials are hard to come by."
"...Mkay~" Scratching his head, Naruto figured this Gummi phone is like a cell phone. He pulled out his ruined device from his pocket before handing it over to the small creature. "If possible, mind transfering my contacts and data into this Gummi phone you're talking about. You can take out what I owe from my new Munni account."
"Sure just let me know…"
As this continued back and forth, the two Polynesian members of the group had their own problems, as Moana smiled at her demigod companion. "So? Are you going to show me how awesome your Hook is?" She slightly exaggerating on the word that Maui describe his tool.
Maui looked at his Hook with a slight quizital look, remembering what happened earlier once retrieving it back from Tamatoa's back… before getting beaten up badly.
Shrugging to himself as it might've been a fluke, Maui stood up and soon activated his magical Fish Hook.
In a flash of light, he had wanted to turn into a shark-
"OOOPH!"
-only to get mixed results.
"Eughhhh!"
Naruto briefly halted his conversation with the Moogle as he looked over to see what was wrong.
"What the hell?!"
And he was quickly disturbed upon seeing Maui's transformation failing miserably.
"...How bad is it?"
"...I'm seriously having very bad flashbacks." Naruto muttered out, shivering upon memories of a certain Akatsuki member.
"I'm trying to be serious here and I feel like you are mocking me." The tattoo… scratch half shark-man -with his top half being shark with human legs- stated with a frown full of disappointment… in himself. "Okay, maybe its been awhile since I did this."
"Phrasing." The Moogle chuckled, slowly getting a disturbed look from the island princess.
She didn't realize that the cute creature she was hugging earlier… had such an odd sense of humor… in quite the literal sense.
"You're not helping!"
Naruto rolled his eyes before speaking up. "You're probably right, Maui. After all, you haven't used your Fish Hook in years." Facing him, he crossed his arms while trying -and failing- to suppress a shiver on seeing Maui's shark-man look. "You're rusty. So what? You just need to get back into it, man."
Naruto's gaze shifted down Maui's body, only to stop upon seeing Mini-Maui…
"Okay, now that is just silly."
Moana was curious on what Naruto meant and saw. Looking at Maui's body, she ended up snorting upon seeing Mini-Maui's appearance.
"Oh my gods!" She laughed, holding her sides. "Mini-Maui turned into a shark head!"
Sure enough, the tattooed counterpart of their demigod companion was in such a state, holding his face in utmost embarrassment.
"Sorry, sorry." She breathed out, trying to compose herself. "Didn't mean to-"
Not wanting to deal with this more, Maui activated his Fish Hook again. And in a series of flashes, he switched through several animal forms before collapsing onto the cavern floor-
"Okay, now that is silly."
-only to switch the shark parts around as he was now a shark-styled merman.
And once again, Moana ended up laughing and collapsing onto the ground as a result.
"Oh, haha!" Maui sounded out as he face planted his face into the cavern floor. "This mission is cursed. We'll never beat Te Ka and we'll never make it to Te Fiti."
"Oh it's not cursed."
Maui emphasised his "shark butt" at this point, causing Moana to laugh a little more.
"Seriously, it's not cursed." Naruto sighed out before grabbing the demigod's form and helping him up before grabbing the Fish Hook and placed it in his companion's grasp. "Now change again and we'll see what we could do from there."
In a series of flashes, Maui went from being a starfish, a beetle, a lizard, a fish before-
"...When did Heihei come down here?"
-turning into a bigger version of Moana's malnourished rooster.
"Ba-kaaw on!" Maui said turning back to- wait now he had the head of a human on Heihei's body… for him to crash down, "Oh yeah this is ju~st great…" He sarcastically said at the curse trip.
Shaking his head, Naruto groaned. "Okay, we can try again later after climbing out of this place."
Calming down now, Moana soon spoke up. "How are we getting out of here anyways?"
Pointing his thumb at the crab shell pile, Maui spoke in a defeated tone. "Been using Tamatoa's carcass to make our way outta here. Was pretty much done sometime before you woke up."
From the side, Naruto felt a bit sorry for Maui as he could understand a little on what he's going through.
When he ended up in Japan over a decade ago because of the fake Madara's actions, Naruto was in a similar feeling with the loss of his chakra. It took time for him to get over it. But after getting his new powers and abilities, he worked hard to get used to them.
"Well, let's get going then." Moana said, jogging towards the crab shell pieces and making her way up.
Maui went after her, at a slower pace as he was still feeling a bit useless from the earlier demonstration.
Before going after them, Naruto looked back at the Moogle. "Do you need help getting out of here?"
"Nah, I'm good, Kupo."
"You sure?"
"Oh, I'm very sure. I have my way of getting out of here."
"...If you say so." Walking away, Naruto spoke one last time. "Be sure to do all what we discussed, please... Say, do you have a name?"
"Hmmm? A Name? Well I'm a Moogle."
"No, no, I mean a real individual name."
"OH~ That." the Moogle cheerfully said. "The name's Ichi, Kupo!"
"Ichi?" Naruto tilted his head. "That's just Japanese for one."
"Well, that's my name Kupo!" The now named Ichi declared happily. "Well have a good journey out there!"
"Right… well, I'll see you around then, Ichi. Till next time."
As the three humans climbed their way out of Tamatoa's lair, Ichi pulled out a shining blue crystal from his satchel. Without any further notice, a flash of bright blue light encompased his form before disappearing from the cave.
-Surface-
In a gesture of water, the three travelers were shot out of the ocean and landed on the sandy shore.
Coughing and inhaling a surplus of air, Naruto looked around a little before frowning. Looking over at the ocean, he spoke. "You couldn't have sent us back to the boat!"
There was no response from the Ocean spirit, causing the travelers to groan.
"Great~ Now we need to walk back through the infested, diseased jungle."
"Oh it can't be that bad." Maui said in a faux upbeat attitude as he swung his Fish Hook around. "What you told me of these Heartless, they can't be that big of a problem."
"Depends on the type and breed, Maui." Summoning his Keyblade, Naruto walked forward. "We need to stay together. Even more so now as this place must still be heavily infested with them."
"Then more means of un-rusting myself."
Moana rolled her eyes as she brandished her oar as she followed after her companions.
Jogging through the forest, Naruto kept an eye out for anything amiss. All he saw was the acres of trees left and right. And like before, he didn't hear any sound of wildlife as the Heartless either took care of them… or the sickness Moana mentioned.
'Really hope it's the former.' Naruto thought uneasily. 'If my hunch is right, then things might be way worse than I thought.'
It didn't help much either upon seeing many trees showing signs of decay and rotting. Even with various black marks spreading across the earth like a virus.
"It's getting worse than I thought." Moana spoke out with visible weariness.
"What is?"
"The sickness, Maui." She waved her hand towards the surrounding trees. "Don't you see what your actions caused?"
"Moana, you don't have to remind him." Said the Uzumaki. "I believe he already gets it."
It was a bit hard for Moana to see it as all she saw from Maui was him still feeling down on not working at the best of his abilities. But seeing his gaze now got her to realize her whiskered friend was right.
"...Sorry."
"You don't need to apologize."
The three moved on forward as an uneasy feeling wafted through the forest.
"What I don't get is where are the animal carcass'."
"What do you mean?" Moana inquired.
"With this sickness I caused, shouldn't they still be littering the ground?"
"They should." The island princess looked around as they soon came across the river bank she and Naruto fought the Heartless at. "Okay, yeah that is strange. I remember seeing a bunch of them around here earlier."
The uneasy feeling grew with each passing moment, causing Naruto to tighten the grip on his Keyblade.
The silence filling the air soon broke with the sounds of angry primates was heard.
-Insert Kingdom Hearts 3: A Fight to the Death-
Moving closer to Naruto, Moana held up her oar at the ready as Maui seemed eager for the fight to come.
"This time, I'm ready for the Heartless." Moana proudly said.
"No one ever is, Moana." Naruto said as his eyes wandered all over.
In what felt like forever, figures jumped out of the forest with a massive screech.
Acting on instinct, the traveling companions quickly swung their respective weapons and hit the incoming opponents.
"Ha! Take that, you Heartless!" Maui boasted as he clobbered another monkey away from him.
It took a bit of time, but Moana started noticing something was clearly off with their opponents.
"These aren't Heartless!"
Maui looked over at the island princess as he punched another monkey opponent away. "What are you talking about?! They clearly gotta be!"
"They aren't!" Moana struggled out as one of the monkey's kept trying to claw and bite at her. Swinging around, the monkey flew off and collided against another one of it's fellow creatures. "They look more corpse-like."
Maui looked at them and saw she was indeed right. With the rotting flesh, missing limbs and the lack of the Heartless symbol on their bodies; they were clearly not what Naruto warned him prior to leaving Lolotai.
"Then what are they?!"
"Darkbeasts!" Naruto answered in an utmost growl. "We need to get the fuck out of here! Now!" Gathering power into his Keyblade, he slammed his weapon into the ground. "Dark Firaga!"
Soon enough, black flames exploded from the impact spot as it quickly spread around the area and burning everything that weren't friendlies. Many Darkbeasts screeched in pain, running around as they started turning into ash. Others that weren't hit by the attack were standing back with utmost caution in creepy stillness.
"Why you whoop the others-" Naruto placed a hand over the demigod mouth, shaking his head.
"No, those guys are worse than Heartless." The silver haired man said softly watching the Darkbeasts start sniffing for them.
"How so?" Moana whispered as Naruto lowered his free hand.
"This is them… and this-" Raising it upwards to tried to explain their level of difficulty, but groaned soon after when he couldn't reach high enough. "Point is, you two are not prepared for them."
"And why not?"
"If they bite or scratch you, you'll turn into one of them without proper healing; for starters." This quickly unnerved Moana while Maui scoffed. "I'm serious and don't give me the excuse of you're demigod powers can stop you from joining their forces. And you're still not at your best."
"I bet I could-"
"Not going to take a chance!" Naruto demanded. Seeing a good number of Darkbeast monkeys starting to stare at him with their milky white eyes, the Uzumaki went into a battle position. "You two head straight towards the boat immediately."
"What about you?"
"I'll hold them off before following after you two." Quickly forming several clones, the surrounding Darkbeasts became very agitated as they briefly focusing more on the Keyblade wielder rather than the two Polynesians; just like he hoped.
It was then he realized that despite this, these undead monkeys were switching their attention between him and Moana… or rather her necklace which contained Te Fiti's Heart.
'Not surprising they'd go after it for how heavily intuned and connected it is to nature itself… on this world.' Naruto thought with a narrowed glance. 'The Rot will do anything to gain the upperhand…'
"When I give the signal…"
Moana wanted to say something, but she gritted her teeth in seeing Naruto not going to budge from his decision. And Maui wanted to at least help his whiskered companion, but seeing the growing number of the undead made him think otherwise.
'If only I were stronger…'
'If only I were back to full strength…'
Channeling power into their Keyblades, Naruto and his clones swung hard to deliver a sweeping arcs of energy across the field. Many Darkbeast monkeys were cleaved and destroyed with others looking on with primal rage.
Guessing this to be the signal, the Polynesian pair bolted from their spots and ran through the forest towards the boat on the other side of the island.
Seeing their main objective trying to flee, a dozen Darkbeasts leaped from their spots; only to be quickly struck from the key-shaped sword. Loud screeches emanated from the disembodied heads and throats before being silenced by several Fire Raids with the remains catching ablaze.
Landing back on the ground, the original Naruto spoke from the center of his clones. "You undead temes will go no further."
Growling, a handful of simian zombies grabbed onto their companions and threw them at the Uzumaki and his clones. The rocketing Darkbeasts flipped through the air before delivering their equivalents of powered punches and kicks. Each blow was evaded with the attackers quickly defeated with various swipes from either the Keyblade or retaliating punches and kicks.
The undead monkeys were simply easy for Naruto to take down. But he knew they made up for the lack of strength against him with their numbers.
A good number of his opponents going around the battlefield and went towards his Polynesian companions. Seeing this, Naruto went after them as his clones stayed behind to help take care of the rest.
Leaping into the air, Naruto quickly slayed a good number of undead monkeys before landing on a tree branch. Jumping from tree to tree, hopping from branch to branch, the Uzumaki had to keep up and did his best to get ahead of his opponents. He pushed himself harder, even more so now as he got memories from his destroyed clones with the undead floodgates breaching and making their way towards his two companions.
Breaking out of the forest, Naruto gritted his teeth upon seeing Maui combating against a few Darkbeasts while Moana tried getting their ride finished for sailing.
The demigod held up his Fish Hook as he blocked a claw strike from an undead monkey. Pushing the creature away did he see his whiskered companion racing towards their position.
"You sure took your time." Maui grunted out, running back to the boat and helped push it further from the shoreline.
"There was more of those things on this island that I thought, Maui." Naruto responded as he quickly spun around and casted a Thundara spell.
With the animated corpses either being cooked or paralized from the shock, Naruto jumped onto the boat before casting an Aeroga spell to propel their boat further from the island. The three traveling companions held on and braced themselves from the sudden increase of speed.
Looking back, they saw the Darkbeast monkeys screeching at the top of their rotting lungs as they couldn't pursue them any longer. Some tried swimming, but it was prevalent they wouldn't succeed in making far due to them either drowning or flailing about in the water.
"Is everyone alright?" Naruto asked, glancing back at the others. "Did any of you get bit or scratched?"
"Nope." Came Maui's response.
"Just winded, that's all." Was Moana's answer.
Naruto nodded before seeing they were lacking someone. "And Heihei?"
*BACKAAA*
Hearing the malnourished rooster's cry from the boat's storage compartment was all the evidence the Uzumaki needed.
"Okay then, lets-"
"Look!"
Whirling around, Naruto and Maui wondered where Moana was pointing towards. Upon looking towards the sky, they saw a murder of crows (or at least what he assumed them to look like) diving towards them. As they grew closer and closer, the two men saw the rotted appearance they bore.
"Well that ain't good."
Loud caws filled the air as the rotted birds dive bombed towards the boat. Not wanting any to come close, Naruto help up his Keyblade high and called several Thundara spells to strike down the dead creatures. Despite them heavily damaged and paralized, which a number drowned once hitting the water, they attempted to hurt the people down below with their carcuses.
Remembering Naruto's warning about them, Moana held up her oar and batted any fallen birds. She didn't want any to claw or nip her on accident and become infected as a result. Whatever still corpses landed on the boat, she kicked them into the water. And she had to quickly shut the boat's compartment door so none would come into contact with Heihei inside.
Maui could possibly be a bigger target, due to his size; thus he had to be extra careful. With him greatly limited on his abilities at the return of his signature weapon, the demigod could only do so much in a confined boat. All he could do was carefully avoid the dead birds and swing while trying to avoid hitting his companions.
"Really great time to show us your transforming skills!" Moana shouted spinning on spot to smack the rats with wings. "Since we barely enough space with your large… physique!" She hesitantly said watching her words.
Gritting his teeth, he channeled power into his Fish Hook. With a blue glow, Maui attempted to change into something useful when-
*RAAAAAH*
"WHAT THE FUCK!?" Naruto cried out, quickly bashing the creature back into the water. "You gotta be freaking kidding me!"
"Was that a shark?"
Shooting out of the water once more, a decaying corpse of a great white aimed right towards the boat's occupants with it's gaping maw. Coming in close, the Darkbeast shark revealed the hollowed interior with all sorts of parts missing to normally function. But neither got a good look as Naruto sent a strong Fira spell right into its face; sending it back into the ocean.
Yet that wasn't enough to put it down as it circled the boat once more for another attack.
"Okay if weren't under attack, that would be a great deed to do in slaying it!" Maui said as it rushed towards the boat. He pulled down the island princess as he ducked when it leap towards then, almost spinning in the air gracefully as it tried to bite them with bony, barely any flesh, mouth. He looked down at Mini-Maui who was jumping and down pointing at the shark as if he was upset for the chomping gesture. "I dunno, I mean an undead shark tattoo does sound awesome." He teased only for Mini-Maui pat his Hook into an open menacingly. "Oh yeah you say it, but I'm the guy who does it."
"Well don't look now, but I'm seeing several more."
True to Naruto's warning, several more fins revealed themselves before speeding up in the water.
"Really wish this was a bigger boat."
Mini-Maui smiled widely before rushing off into an area that original laugh at, "Hey guys, he went into my pit willingly!"
Neither mortal could care less as they ducked at every other moment from the undead sea creatures.
As they avoided being bitten from the jump attacks, they also had to steady themselves with their sea vessel being knocked back and forth.
Moana did her best to balance herself out, but a swift knock caused her to tumble into the water.
"WHAAAAA!" She cried out. "HELP!"
"MOANA!"
The two men dived and reached to snatch the island princess out of the water. The moment they were able to pull her back onto the boat, an undead great white shot out of the ocean. It twisted and turned while airborne in hopes of taking a bite out of the travelers before falling back into the infested currents.
It wasn't long after this failed attempt did many of the decaying creatures start biting on the boat in hopes of ruining their progression to anywhere else but the present spot. The three companions had to attack them quickly so that wouldn't happen.
"Dammit, the second anymore of them bite into this. We're dead," Naruto stop for a moment to punch a shark skull as he looked at the area. Maybe this could… "Hang on!"
"Aerora!"
With the blast of air shooting out of his Keyblade, Naruto caused their boat to move faster across the water.
"WHOA/WHOO-HOO!" The two tan other members of the boat shouted in both individual tones one being shock and the other ecstatic. But the demigod looked back and frown in slight disappointment, "Uh kid, they are still coming!"
Nodding, Naruto shot out several Blizzard spells into the water. Parts of the ocean quickly froze over, trapping the Darkbeast sharks. They struggled and roared before balls of magical fire rained down upon them to quickly destroy them.
"Ha! They've been put on… ice."
…
…
…
"That was bad… even for me." Maui said with a sigh full of shame for Naruto.
"Oh shut up." Naruto groaned out.
The Uzumaki stop the air spell as soon the sharks were no longer seen, taking a breath casting a series of spells longer than they should.
*THUD*
Both the sound and the boat shaking caused the boat's occupants to stiffen.
"What was that?"
Neither men could answer the island princess' question right away, looking towards the water in hopes of finding the source. It was rather hard to do so with the waves starting to become rough and the sky darkening due to an overcast.
Holding his spot on the boat, Naruto focused his gaze as he searched and searched. He was going to give up on his search-
"There!"
-when Maui pointed off to his side of the boat.
Whipping around, Naruto and Moana saw a large, shadowy figure moving around the boat.
Holding her oar at the ready, she tried to calm herself as a nervous sweat trickled down her face. Looking at her companions, she saw the two men tightening their respective weapons with the adrenaline from earlier events still present within their veins.
The shadowy figure started coming towards them, causing Moana to gasp and hold her breath. It came closer and closer to the boat at blinding speed and before she knew it-
…..
…..
…..
"...Where'd it go-"
A massive splash was heard and made right behind them!
Whirling back around, the trio saw the creature that now disturbed them as it shot from the water and rose towards the sky: an enormous sea serpent!
It's scales had a color of a rustic emerald as it glistened with both sea water and what light peaked through the overcast above. It's slitted eyes were clouded and dark, yet held untold amounts of malice within it's gaze. It gave a hiss from it's massive maw, revealing long and sharp fangs with it's forked tongue flailing about.
Yet this wasn't enough to finish off it's intimidating sight, which frightened Moana and made Maui quite nervous on its mere presence alone. What truly set things over the edge were the various, gaping holes within its body in exposing various bones and rotting flesh.
What the three were seeing right now wasn't just a monstrous sea serpent, but in fact a Darkbeast; the biggest one Naruto had ever seen.
Swallowing a lump in his throat, Naruto spoke. "I'll say it again… Really wish we had a bigger boat-"

AN:
Work… Work has been brutal since the last update. Working longer, grueling hours because some employees either quit or transferred to different departments. Been getting home around 12 hours since getting to the workplace as I've been just taking dinner before going straight to bed. Not great on things go so I don't even know if I can even update faster or have the mental strength to even type up some pages.
In between the updates though, I had some bit of leisure. For instance, catching up on some reading and watched various DC properties such as the Joker film, the CW shows and Watchmen on HBO. Oh and not to mention the great new show, Primal, from the great Genndy Tartakovsky.
Just so you all know, the previous chapter will be the last I'll be writing down any of the Disney songs and writing out how it plays out. I wanted to avoid it, but I couldn't think of a way around it as it was actually essential to the plot of the film.
And as for worlds for me to visit, thanks for the suggestions people; either through reviews or PMs. But there are a good number I already have planned on doing before KH1 events and even then, certain worlds will not be visited as I either see no use in going to them or that they would already be done on Sora's side of things in the other KH games.
There will be other worlds outside of the Disney property I wanna do in my story as I think they would be great on doing. Won't spoil any on what I have planned. So… sorry.
Anyways, be sure to review this story guys! Would like the criticisms. Please and thank you!

Kushina sighed as she was in Japan wearing her new Grim Reaper Clothing, a dress of all things. It was frilly and girly, even when as a grown woman she was still a tomboy at heart. So this Gothic Lo...Loli...Lolita?
...Was this kinda her boss' way to get back at her? Was her tricking Death herself in getting the job push her to do such a thing?
Don't get her wrong as she saw a good number of Reapers wear either the dreary black, dirty brown or pure white cloaks. The energetic Uzumaki didn't want to wear any of those, but preferred either the casual wear, a business suit or a Shihakusho. Yet it seemed her work attire was now limited to… this… as punishment apparently for the unforeseeable future.
As embarrassing it was for her wearing the Lolita uniform, Kushina was at least thankful no one was actually seeing her in this. How? Well due to her new status and powers, Kushina wouldn't be seen by anyone unless she wants them to be seen by her.
And at the present time, it was essentially no one.
"This is less fun than I thought." She said basically going to touch the person then tap their forehead with her new scythe to send them to wherever they need to go.
Finally reaching up the stairs, she looked at her PDA that Death/Didi gave her.
"Apartment… 66...6?" She made an audible gulp as she, like many others in the Uzumaki bloodline, had a huge fear of supernatural crap even religious stuff still manage to scare her bones. She shook her head before bumping her fists into her large chest making them jiggle slightly, "Right! I am the badass mother reaper here!" She nodded to herself before knocking loudly on the door, "HEY BITCH YOU'RE TIME IS… up?" She meekly said to see something that made her lose her confidence. Not from fear but the person she will reap…
This woman might be around her age but the fact wasn't the main problem. This woman looks like she was abused for… hell maybe weeks? She had sweet blue eyes wide with innocent kindness, like you might see in a child. She wore a pink nightgown most likely too tired to actually wear something casual than sleep wear. Her unkempt lavender hair was all over the place, like she just got out of bed to answer her. But the worse thing was her body, her right arm and middle of her left leg were covered in bandages. So was her forehead, cheeks, and lastly her neck, as she was watching this Death Count (A term Didi used for bounty among Reapers) the lavender haired woman just finished making a single braid on her head.
"A-Are you okay?" The red haired woman asked as she felt the need to comfort the woman if she was in pain.
"Ehh?" The woman said looking at herself before a sweet smile graced her lips, "Its fine, I usually am like this~" She said kindly as if her pain didn't matter, making Kushina wonder if giving her a few more days would be fine. "Oh my… you're so lovely."
The sudden praise made Kushina blushed as she scratched her head, "D'aww~ thanks, you're not so bad… looking… eh?" She stopped midway as the woman placed her body on Kushina's, placing her head on top of the red haired woman's chest. "Uhh, getting kinda intimate, ain'tcha?"
"Wahh~" The woman said childishly acting slightly overdramatic, "Sorry, sorry. Please come in I would love it to have you over."
Kushina didn't know but...she made the same mistake the other Reapers did, not realizing that she was going to have the time of her life… and the worst time too.

SLAM~!
A nearly nude Kushina had barely had enough time, and stamina, to leave the apartment. She looked at her PDA and paled at the time that went by.. .it was a week since she entered the home of that nutsack~!
"God, did we really had that much sex!?" She said before she heard the doorknob slightly moved before slamming her back into it, causing the person to stumble backwards when the door was slightly ajared before Kushina sudden movement. Quickly grabbing her PDA, she made a quick call to her boss. "Hey Dee? You never told me that my target is love obsessed stalker of a monster!"
SLAM!
Kushina nearly made a girlish squeal when the woman tried to use her own body to break down the door.
"Hahaha, I thought you Uzumaki's can beat death. Too bad rookie, unless you want those vaycay days, you gotta reap her."
Kushina eyes and body became white as snow, "Okay take two..." she said trying to steel herself for this real battle that was going to-
BAM!
"Oh my kami~!" Kushina screamed when a hand went through the door like it was made of butter! Curious, or stupid as many would say, she peered into the hole to see nothing. "Whoo she's-"

There she saw a single glowing red eye, "Oh Kushina~! I thought I tried out the strap-on this time~! I know you want to try it too~"
"Oh fuck no!" She said looking at the empty… and seemingly expanding hallway. "How fucking big is this place!? It makes no sense!"
Before she can do anything, Kushina sighed… she saw the railing and knew that this was the tenth floor. The quickest way for a Reaper to go back was to die, but was it really…?
"Kushi-hime~!"
NOPE~! IT WAS DEFINITELY WORTH IT!"
"PEACE~!" She said jumping from where she was to die in the sweet release of… why was the the ground getting away from her?
"Ara, it was a good thing I had this fishing kit with me~" Kushina went wide eye to see the lavender haired woman simply place one hand on her cheek as if embarrassed. "So… lets…" She smiled as she pulled the newest Reaper into her apartment again, "Enjoy our love~!"

"What did you do to my wife?" Minato said pointing to a fetal position Kushina rocking her body back and forth with bags underneath her eyes ever since she came back from her first assignment, which failed as she died from what all the Reapers said 'Overexhaustion' in mass laughter.
Didi just scratch the back of her head… maybe it was too much for Kushina afterall, "I just thought I prank her back for abusing my trust."
"That… is not Kushina." He pointed to the woman who kept saying 'Marathon woman', 'My ass is still red with handprints', and 'so much yuri-ness'.
"Yea~h" Didi groaned before moving to Kushina, "Hey? You okay?" She said softly before Kushina hugged her legs.
"I SWEAR TO KAMI-SAMA~! I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN, DON'T SEND ME BACK TO THE BEAST OF LUST~!"
"Ara?"
Kushina gave a deadpan glare to a nun nearby, "Not you Kiara, and stay away from my husband~!" She flicks the woman off before returning back to her previous state. "DON'T DIDI~! I'LL A GOOD REAPER AND FOLLOW YOUR RULES! JUST DON'T SEND ME BACK THERE! WAHHHHHHHH~!"
Everyone around watch as Didi looked awkward from the grown woman latching onto her body, before patting her back just as awkwardly. "There… there… you don't have too, just was sending a message. You can the vacation days… just… stop crying. Please."
"THANK YOU~!" She screamed repeatedly as Didi tried to push her away...but stop as it was the only way to stop the woman from crying again. She really needed to buy a standing desk for this kinda moments.
Minato sighed before looking at the woman, "Please let me do what she couldn't…" He said as the woman gave a hesitant look.
"Ya sure? Cause if she messed up Kushina here." She pointed to the woman still holding onto her body for dear life. "I'm pretty sure Obaa-san will do worse to you."
"Oh please, I was Hokage once, I think I can kill a non-fighter woman." Minato said as Didi shrugged and gave him a thumbs up.
Whipping her head around, Kushina released the Gothic woman before latching onto her husband's pelvis. "DON'T! SHE'LL EAT YOU ALIVE!" She then rubbed her head… against his crotch… "AND THERE'S NO WAY I'LL LET SOME SKANK RUIN YOU! I NEED THIS STILL ITS THE ONLY THING THAT MADE ME NOT FALL TO THE LESBIAN SIDE~!"
"...Easy Kushina-chan!" Minato said softly to relief his wife's worried, "I'm the Yellow Flash, remember? I'll be back in second-" But before he did, Minato realize what his wife just said, "Wait you had sex with her?"
"Oh she'll suck you off in a second. She's like Hentai brought to life~!" The red haired woman replied quickly.
As this continued, Tsunade walked up to Didi with an amused smile, "So I take it that Kushina met her match in fighting?"
"No… just in sex."
"...I don't wanna know then…"
"Better if you don't." Didi sighed out, rubbing the bridge of her nose. "If Minato doesn't take care of her, then I'll just have Grimm do it."
"Why not you?" The gambler said… to stifle a laugh when she saw Didi blushed and looked away from her gaze. "Holy crap, you too?!"
"You can blame my younger sibling, Desire, as s/he ended up marking her." A series of twitches were seen coming from Death's eye. "Though I don't know if s/he intentionally or unintentionally knew the side effects of doing so… all just to spite me."
Not wanting to know anything further, Tsunade looked onto the side and saw Kushina plead for Minato to stay away from the crazy, sex lady of her failed assignment. "This… is going to end badly."
