Luckily for the planet we came across, we deemed it to be a great shore leave spot. It has beaches, a booming town nearby and a few 'tourist' attractions. Any species' dream if they want a break from their daily routine. The captain granted selected crew members to head down and enjoy their time then switch out with the next party. I was granted to beam down with Nyota and a few others. Her and I agreed to spend the day together once we got the news we would be able to beam down together.

I shrugged on a little tote over my shoulder. I should be meeting Nyota in fifteen minutes. It never hurts to go a little early to the transport room. Shorts and a long t-shirt, once was Spock's, adorn my body. Underneath was an one piece mauve bathing suit if I should decide to take a dip into the waters. Upon entering the transport room, I nearly back tracked out once I saw the one person who have been giving my heart palpitations every time I came across the man.

I bit the inside of my cheek deciding it would be childish to back out of the room due to a single person. He was talking with Scotty who was seated at the transport room panels. I took in a deep breath and fully walked in with my hands clasped behind my back. The scotsman noticed my person, "Ay, lass! Ye're headin' down?"

I cleared my throat putting my attention on the scotsman, "Ah, yes. I'll be heading down with Lt. Uhura. We were able to be grouped together."

Without my knowing, the captain studied my person. He took in the dark green shirt that seemed too big for my person. He nearly had to do a double take on the shorts underneath. The captain felt his cheeks redden and hot. He tore his eyes away to look down at his P.A.D.D. He almost missed the braid hung over the hybrid's shoulder. When I took a glance over at the captain, he already had his attention on his P.A.D.D. Since I told Dr. McCoy for the captain to lay off for a bit, I slightly feel he has been cold and too-professional over our interactions. Granted the interactions have to do with Engineering...

Scotty noticed my attention was else where. He raised an eyebrow, "So what do you have plans for once ye're down there?"

I tore my attention from the captain. I noticed he swept his hair a different way than usual. I was about to open my mouth to answer but another voice answered for me, "We are going to lay on the beach and enjoy our time away from the controls, Scotty."

Scotty and the captain noticed the Lieutenant has arrived. Scotty quickly glanced at the hybrid before placing his attention back on the communications officer, "Ah that seems like a relaxin' time."

I nodded, "Yes, it will be. I brought a book along to read."

Nyota wrapped an arm around my own, "Alsooo going to take a dip in the water too. I have seen photos of what this planet has to offer. I'm sure Sara, Miss Too Uptight, would enjoy the waters as well."

A frown marred my face. I replied, "I'm not uptight. Over the years, I've just... I've just rather keep the Enterprise running."

Nyota nudged her arm into my side with a roll of her eyes, "That sounds like this shore leave is needed. Thank you captain."

Jim glanced very briefly up from his data pad to give a quick nod, "A-ah, yes. Course. We would need a break every now and then."

I thanked the captain, "Thank you, Captain."

Jim nodded once more, "You're welcome. Enjoy."

Nyota pulled my person towards the beaming pad. She separated herself from me. Scotty looked at his panels before looking at the two of us, "Ready whenever you are, lasses."

With a big excited smile, Nyota piped up, "Energize."

The last thing I saw before we were fully beamed down on the surface was a glancing captain. The heart palpitations increased. I found it hard to swallow all the sudden. Fully beamed down, Nyota grabbed my hand pulling me towards the beach, "Let's finally take a breather, Sara."

The communications officer found a perfect spot by some palm trees. It created some shade from the artificial sun. The planet had a dome around it creating the perfect weather throughout an Earth year.

Nyota pulled out a large blanket and set it up on the sand. Nyota placed her hands on her hips with a smile, "Alright now sit, sit!"

I slipped off my shoes before sitting down on the soft blanket. Nyota took her spot next to me, "Alright after a while, we have to go into the water. I heard it's to die for temperature wise."

I dug through my tote pulling out a book, "Fine. If you want to go in the water early, do so. I'll join once I am done reading."

Nyota took her cover off to soak up the sun. A sigh left her lips when she laid down. I placed a sun hat on my head before digging into my book.

Scotty looked where the two women were on his beaming platform. Scotty dusted off the imaginary dirt of his hands, "Alright they were the last ones to be beamed down. Now what are yer plans till we have our time down below?"

Jim still had his eye on the spot where the hybrid was standing. Scotty leaned forward, "Captain?"

Scotty's face suddenly transformed into amusement. Scotty fiddled with the panel controls, "You know, Captain. I think it's been a very long time since I've seen Sara's hair in that style. It suits her, don't you think?"

Jim turned to his chief engineer, "Oh. I...I..."

Scotty waited for the captain to collect his words. Jim cleared his throat, "The hair style suits her. Now I expect the reports of the diagnostics of our warp engine soon. I'll be on the bridge."

Jim took his leave to the bridge. Scotty's lips went upward. Oh, this is interesting and he now noticing it.

Scotty clasped his hands together. He took over the captain's ready room. Around him sat Hikaru Sulu, Pavel Chekov and somehow he was able to convince Dr. McCoy to join.

Scotty started, "Not sure if you lot noticed but there's some tension between the captain and our female senior engineer."

Bones let out a deep breath, "I knew this was going to surface at some point."

The scotsman's brows disappeared into his hairline. He gestured a hand towards the doctor, "Wait a minute. Ya knew? Ya knew that these two have been skirtin' around each other like lost teens."

Bones rolled his eyes, "Of course I knew. Both of them do talk to me. One in a medical setting and the other because he sees me as his best friend."

Sulu added, "Which you are to the captain."

Bones waved a dismissing hand. Scotty continued, "As I was sayin' I think we should gently push the two together. O' course with their minds, I mean Sara's, in good order which is where the doctor could say if its too much or not for her well being."

Chekov decided to give his input, "Why not have Mr. Scott call for the captain to engineering? Mr. Scott wouldn't be there but she would. It could spark a conversation. Not too much pressure for either. Either of them could leave if uncomfortable."

Bones rubbed his chin. Bones nodded, "That could give a little nudge. Either of them could have the right to not continue the interaction."

The helmsman raised his brows in surprise, "I didn't think you'd be so readily to help the two, doctor."

Bones crossed his arms, "The two of them are being two kindergarteners playing around each other with these crushes towards each other. It's been a couple months since the man changed his tune. They can slowly come back around each other."

Scotty gave one final nod, "Then we have it. When we pull away from this planet, we can put that plan into action."

A shadow casted over my reading form. I glanced up seeing Nyota with her arms crossed. I went back down to my book, "Is there anything I can help you with?"

Nyota shook her head, "You've been reading for hours. You have not once moved since you sat down. You're starting to be like Spock."

The comparison between my brother and I made me scrunch up my nose. I snapped my book shut, "The comparison with my brother and I shouldn't be formed. Him and I are two different Vulcans in two different fields. I'll join you in the water now."

I placed my book in my tote. I slipped off my shorts then pulled Spock's shirt off. The shirt was stolen from his closet back on Vulcan when I came to visit for the first time since I enlisted. I didn't mention to him I missed him very much and I missed home. He smelt of home and comfort. That may be due to us being together for everything till I decided to head into Star Fleet. I followed the communications officer to the water.

The water temperature felt wonderful. It wasn't too warm and wasn't too cold. We got to waist deep before we allowed the water to keep us afloat. I decided to add some conversation, "How are you and Spock?"

It took Nyota a few moments before she answered, "We are doing fine."

I sighed placing my feet back on the sea ground, "You were hesitant. Just because I'm his twin sister, it doesn't mean anything. Spock and I are different people and we have our fair share of secrets. If you would like to talk to me about him, you can."

Nyota bit the inside her cheek, "Thank you, Sara. I'll think about it, okay? But really we are doing fine."

I raised an angled brow then gave a brief nod, "Okay, if you say so."

The two of us floated around in the water enjoying the silence. I snapped my eyes shut taking in the sun rays. The mixture of sun rays and water felt really nice against my skin. I wouldn't mind coming back to this planet in the future if we could.
