Chapter 20
It's Saturday morning at the Seville house and the boys are having breakfast.
"You boys seem okay, I take it Freddy didn't pay any of you a visit last night," Dave commented.
"Yes, which is a rarity nowadays," Alvin said.
"Hope we can say the same about the Chipettes," Simon stated.
"Oh yes, I hope they're okay," Theodore says.
"We'll find out at the recording studio, but I agree with you Theodore, I hope they are okay," Dave replies.
Dave then turns to Alvin and says, "Keep in mind this album is a combined album with you and your brothers and the Chipettes, not a competition. So don't try to make it into a competition with Brittany."
"Yeah okay," Alvin says.
Dave and the boys later arrive at the recording studio and are met by the Chipettes. Alvin quickly asks them, "Did Freddy come after any of you last night?"
"Yes, he came after Eleanor," Brittany replies.
"He came so close to killing me, it was horrible! He even wrapped me up with a snake!", Eleanor says.
"He's never going to stop! What can we do to make him stop?", Theodore says.
"Until we find a way, almost nothing," Simon replies.
"I also happened to try to pull him out of the dream, but unfortunately he knew what I wanted to do since I grabbed his leg and when I looked, that snake was there," Eleanor stated.
"Unfortunately, as I suspected, Krueger knew what we would try to do. He is going to make sure pulling him out of the dream is next to impossible," Simon says.
"I know it's hard to fight against Krueger, but where there's a will, there's a way," Jeanette says.
"That's absolutely true Jeanette. There definitely is a way to beat him, we just need to find it," Eleanor replies.
"I know you're scared by Freddy Krueger and want to beat him, but let's not think about that right now because you've got a recording session to do. Maybe it'll take your minds off of that creep," Dave says.
"I definitely think it will for a while. We want to make this album sound great and also allow me to maintain my reputation as a great rocker," Alvin says.
"Oh Alvin," Dave mutters.
"It's all of us, remember? Not just you Alvin," Simon says to his older brother.
"I know, I was just kidding," Alvin says.
"You better be," Brittany says with a glare.
"Or am I?", Alvin says.
"Alvin!", everyone exclaims.
"You know I have to mess with you," Alvin says with a mischievous grin.
"Well okay, but let's get serious right now for our session," Simon says as they walk into the studio.
"I know. We definitely need to sound great for this session," Alvin replies.
Three hours later
"Okay, we got it all. That's it for today," the music producer says over the intercom.
Dave, who is in the room with the producer says," Looks like we're almost done with this album.
The producer responds, "Yes, and then after some extra work, the album will be on the shelves. It'll probably take one more session to get everything ready."
The Chipmunks and Chipettes, who had come out of the recording booth, are discussing their session.
"I guess we're going to need at least one more session to have everything recorded for the album," Simon states.
"Yes, since we actually were able to get a lot of work done today," Jeanette says in agreement.
"I'm sure it's going to be a big hit record for us," Alvin states proudly.
Simon replies, "Most of our albums have been big hits Alvin."
"I know. I'm just saying it's probably going to be a huge hit with the Chipettes on the album with us," Alvin says.
"Especially since my sisters and I have a good number of hit albums ourselves," Brittany replies.
"That's definitely true Britt," Alvin says.
"I'd say we were on top of our game today," Theodore says.
"Even after what happened to me last night, I still was able to be up there with the rest of you," Eleanor stated.
"That's having a good work ethic Eleanor," Simon replies.
Dave comes out into the hall and says, "You all sounded very good today. Apparently we'll have to do one more session before the extra production work is done."
"Thanks Dave," Theodore says. He also adds, "Simon also figured we'd need maybe one more recording session."
"Well he would be correct," Dave states.
Dave then turns to the girls and asks, "Would you girls like to come over and spend time with the boys for a while?"
"Sure thing!", Eleanor says excitedly.
"We haven't done that in a while, so yes," Jeanette says.
"That actually sounds nice," Brittany claims.
"Okay, well I'll tell Ms. Miller you'll be over for awhile," Dave says.
Dave brings the Chipmunks and Chipettes over to the house and tells Ms. Miller on the phone.
Meanwhile, Alvin and Brittany are playing a combat game while their younger siblings wait to play.
"Really?! How'd you win that round?", Alvin says to Brittany.
"I figured you out that round, and now I'll definitely kick your butt!", Brittany says with a smirk.
"Oh we'll see about that," Alvin says confidently with a smirk.
They play a while longer before Simon, Jeanette, Theodore, and Eleanor get their turns. The Chipmunks and Chipettes afterward watch some TV before the girls have to go home.
"That was a nice time," Simon says.
"I'm sure Alvin and Theodore would agree with you there," Dave replies.
"Yes we definitely do agree," Alvin speaks up. Theodore nods in agreement.
"Good, now you boys need to study for your exams for a while, especially since they're next week," Dave says.
"Sure thing Dave," Simon responds as he and his brothers go to their room to study.
At the Miller house, the girls are studying for their exams when Brittany says, "That was a nice change for us to be able to hang out with the boys after quite a while."
"Very true," Jeanette responds.
"I definitely enjoyed it," Eleanor says.
"We all did Ellie," Brittany replies.
Later on at the Seville house, the boys and Dave are having dinner.
"What a good day we had today," Theodore says.
"I can't disagree with you there Theodore. I just hope the night goes the same way," Alvin responds.
"What do you mean by that?", Simon asked.
"I mean I hope Freddy Krueger doesn't show his ugly face tonight," Alvin answers.
"Freddy didn't come after any of you last night, what makes you think he might come after you tonight?", Dave asks.
"Alvin answers, "He's done this before with us, plus he went after Eleanor last night."
"Maybe if you don't think about him, he might go away," Dave says.
"I wish it was that simple. We've tried, but haven't been successful," Simon says.
"Hopefully he'll stay away again tonight," Dave says.
"I hope so," Theodore replies with worry.
At the Miller house, the girls and Ms. Miller are having their dinner.
"How did your recording session with the boys go?", Ms. Miller asks the Chipettes.
"It went great. The album's almost done now," Brittany replies.
"Also, we will only need one more session to complete it," Jeanette adds.
"That's great news. I'm sure this album will be a big hit," Ms. Miller says enthusiastically.
"We're sure it will be," Eleanor says.
Brittany then speaks up, "I hope the night goes as well as the day we had."
"Are you talking about if Freddy Krueger comes after you tonight?", Ms. Miller asks.
"Yes. He won't go away," Brittany replies.
"We know about that too well," Eleanor says.
"The boys said none of them were attacked by Freddy last night, maybe we'll be the fortunate ones tonight," Jeanette says.
"Better yet, neither us or the Chipmunks have to deal with Freddy tonight," Eleanor states.
"I hate to be a downer, but ever since Freddy started showing up, that hasn't been the case at all," Brittany says.
"Hopefully tonight will be the night," Ms. Miller replies.
"I really, really hope so," Jeanette says.
Later at the Seville house, after the boys watch TV for a while, Dave tucks them into bed for the night.
"Goodnight boys," Dave says as he turns off the light.
"Goodnight Dave," the boys reply. Dave closes the door and goes to bed himself.
At the Miller house, the same is occurring. After Ms. Miller tucks the Chipettes in for the night she says, "Goodnight girls" and turns out the light.
"Goodnight Ms. Miller," the girls reply back. Ms. Miller then heads off to bed.
Later at the Seville house, Simon is sleeping comfortably when he feels something cold under him and realizes he can't move his arms and legs. He looks and sees that he is restrained on a metal table and gasps.
"I see you've noticed," a familiar raspy voice says.
Simon looks to the side and sees Freddy Krueger walking toward the table with an evil smile on his face.
"What do you want, Krueger?" Simon asks with disdain.
"I know about what those bullies have said about you helping me get my children, so that gave me a great idea," Freddy says.
"What twisted idea could someone as cold blooded as you come up with?", Simon asks with a scowl.
Freddy responds, "You actually are going to help me. That's my idea."
"No way would I help a murderous animal like you kill people!", Simon exclaims angrily.
Freddy smiled evilly and said, "It would actually be a good opportunity for us to really get to know each other inside and out. I want to completely know you and you will be able to completely know me."
"I know enough about you to know I don't want anything to do with you! You're a murderous psychopath who killed innocent children!", Simon hissed.
Freddy then pulls down Simon's sleeve and says, "Unfortunately, you don't have a choice in the matter. Did you really think I would give you a choice?"
Freddy then uses one of his blades to cut open Simon's arm. Simon winces in pain as Freddy's blade cuts into him. Freddy then places his left hand on top of the cut he just made.
Freddy then goes on to say with a wicked smile, "Now, let's really get to know each other." Freddy begins to liquify and go into the cut.
"No! No! What are you doing?! Stop!", Simon yells frantically as he watches helplessly as Freddy goes into his arm.
"NO!", Simon screams as he wakes up in his bed.
Alvin and Theodore are woken up and see Simon panting with a frantic look on his face.
Dave, who heard Simon scream, runs into the room and quickly asks, "What happened?"
"Freddy came after me. He actually now wants me to help him get victims," Simon answers.
Alvin notices the cut on Simon's arm and sees it's different from the typical cuts they had previously received from Freddy.
"This cut isn't bleeding and it's glowing," Alvin says.
"I see that, what doesn't this mean?", Dave responds.
"Freddy actually was liquifying himself and going into that cut. I don't know why he would do that though," Simon says.
"Whatever it means, I'm sure it's not good at all," Theodore says after he sees the glowing cut.
"I'm hoping you're wrong Theodore," Dave says.
"I hope so too," Alvin says.
"I'm also hoping I'm wrong about this, but I have a bad feeling about it," Theodore says.
"If you're freaked out about it Simon, you can sleep with me," Dave says to Simon.
"Thanks Dave, but I'll stay here," Simon replies.
"Okay, but you can come if you change your mind," Dave says.
"Okay, but I think I'll be fine," Simon replies.
"Goodnight again boys," Dave says as he turns off the light.
"Goodnight again Dave," the Chipmunks respond.
Alvin and Theodore are still thinking about the strange glowing cut on Simon's arm and have trouble falling asleep while Simon is terrified at what he saw in his dream as well as his cut and can't sleep comfortably for the rest of the night.
What does this event mean for Simon? What does Freddy have in store for him? Please review!
