Chapter 22

It's Monday morning and the Chipmunks are up eating cereal for breakfast. Simon though is still feeling sick and doesn't eat much.

"Still feeling bad Simon?", Dave asks the bespectacled chipmunk.

"Yes. Thankfully though I don't feel as bad as I did yesterday," Simon answers.

"That's good to hear, but you're not going to school today since you're still feeling bad," Dave says.

"What about any exams that we might have to take today?", Simon asks with concern.

"I don't think we have any exams today, so you don't have to worry," Theodore says.

"Without a doubt, we'll have some exams tomorrow," Alvin adds.

"Hopefully I'll be better tomorrow," Simon replies.

Dave later drops Alvin and Theodore off at school. The Chipettes arrive not too much later.

"Simon is still sick?", Jeanette asks.

"Yes, but he's not feeling as bad today," Alvin answers.

"That's good to hear," Eleanor says.

Nathan comes up and asks, "Where's Simon?"

Brittany answers, "He's sick."

"That sucks," Nathan says.

Theodore then notices Nathan rubbing his throat and wincing in pain and asks, "What's wrong?"

"I'm not feeling so hot myself. My throat hurts and my head hurts. I also feel kind of hot," Nathan responds.

"Oh boy. Simon is sick and now you're getting sick," Alvin says.

Derek and Bobby walk up to the group and Derek asks, "Where's the nerd?"

"He's sick," Brittany says.

"Oh that's too bad. Derek and I were looking to give him a nice piece of our minds today. Also we were looking forward to taking his lunch as compensation for what happened to us," Bobby says.

"Get lost you idiots," Nathan says.

"I don't think you're in a position to tell us what to do with the way you look," Derek says arrogantly.

"I can still deal with you even if I don't feel 100%," Nathan responds.

Derek looks at the clock and says, "Lucky for you, we need to get to class. You won't be so fortunate later." The two bullies then head to class.

Nathan asks the boys and Chipettes, "Did any of you have to deal with that creep Freddy Krueger last night?"

"No. Although Simon was attacked by Freddy Saturday night and after that he got sick," Alvin says.

"None of us dealt with Freddy last night either. What about you?", Jeanette says.

"I didn't see him last night. Hopefully this means he's finally done terrorizing people around here," Nathan says.

"I hope so too," Alvin muttered.

The rest of the day goes by fairly smoothly for the Chipmunks and Chipettes, except for another incident with Derek and Bobby at lunch. They also learn Nathan was feeling worse and was sent home for the rest of the day.

Later on in the day after school, Alvin and Theodore talk to Dave about the day.

"Nathan was feeling sick and we heard he was sent home because he was feeling so bad," Theodore says.

"Hopefully he gets better quickly," Dave replies.

Simon, overhearing what was said, chimes in, "Interesting that I get sick, then Nathan gets sick."

"Speaking of which, how are you now?", Theodore asks Simon.

"My head still hurts a bit, but I'm not as achy and I have much more energy than I did earlier," Simon answers. He then asks, "Did you ask the girls if any of them dealt with Freddy last night?"

"They said neither one of them were attacked by Freddy. Just like how last night neither one of us were attacked by Freddy," Alvin says.

"That's a first in a couple of weeks," Dave replies.

"I'm still worried about that dream Simon had where Freddy went into his arm," Theodore says.

"I'll admit I've kind of thought about that too," Simon replies.

Simon then asks, "Were there any exams today?"

Theodore replies, "No, but they'll start tomorrow."

"Okay. I definitely don't want to miss any of them," Simon claims.

"Of course you wouldn't," Alvin says sarcastically.

"I need to do well on these exams if I'm going to have good grades in the classes. Same applies to you," Simon says defensively.

"Simon's right on that," Dave says in agreement.

"Oh alright," Alvin says exasperated.

The boys later do some final studying before they have dinner. At the dinner table, Alvin tells Simon, "Bobby and Derek have gone back to their classic ways with us. They're looking to steal one of our lunches."

"You know those idiots will never change, so I'm not really surprised," Simon says.

"I hope you guys do well on your exams tomorrow," Dave says to the boys.

"I hope so too," Theodore says.

After watching TV for a while, the Chipmunks are sent to bed and once again surprisingly have another night free from Freddy Krueger.

Tuesday comes around and the boys get up for school. Dave notices that Simon seems to be back to his old self.

"You seem to be feeling a lot better now Simon," Dave says encouragingly.

"Yes I feel so much better. I'm so relieved," Simon says.

"I'm glad to hear it," Dave says.

The boys have their breakfast, get their lunches, and are driven to school.

The Chipmunks are dropped off at school and are joined by the Chipettes.

"Nice to see you back Simon. I'm glad you're feeling better. I wonder what it was that made you so sick," Jeanette says.

"I'm not sure what it was, but it was after I had that dream Alvin probably told you about where Freddy Krueger liquified himself and went into my arm," Simon says.

"That is so strange," Brittany says as the group goes toward the school.

"Hey, Nathan isn't here," Alvin says.

"He's probably still sick," Theodore says.

Bobby comes up and sees Simon and says, "Nice to see you back nerd. I've got something I want to show you." He then reaches for Theodore's lunch and tries to take it.

"Hey, let go! Quit it!", Theodore exclaims.

"Leave him alone!", Alvin says angrily.

"I will when I have his lunch," Bobby says.

Nobody notices Simon grab his head and shut his eyes tight. After a few seconds, he opens his eyes, goes to Alvin and says with a strange confidence, "I've got this."

Simon then goes to Bobby and says, "I suggest you let that go."

"Or what, you'll bore me to death?", Bobby says back.

"I'll bring you to the fiery pits of pain," Simon says in a way the Chipettes and his brothers never heard him speak before.

"You, inflicting pain on me?", Bobby says before laughing. He then asks, "You're joking right?"

Simon sighs and says, "Typical response from someone like you. Trying to act tough to hide the fact that inside, you're just a pathetic baby."

Bobby then says angrily, "What did you say you miserable punk?!"

"Are you deaf too? You without a doubt were scared of many things as a little kid and still have those fears like the whiny brat you are," Simon says with a smirk.

He then continues, "I guarantee you were like 'Mommy my night light went out. I'm scared and I just peed my pants' like the baby you were and still are."

Bobby, getting angrier, says, "I'm warning you geek, you better shut up!"

Alvin, Theodore, and the Chipettes can't believe what they're hearing coming from Simon. Alvin thinks, "What has gotten into Simon?"

Simon then says to Bobby, "Why? You don't like the fact that I'm standing up to you and exposing the whining crying kid that you're hiding? Are you going to cry to your mommy like you did as a little squirt?"

Bobby balls up his fists and, now even more angry, says "Last warning, shut up!"

"Boy are you pathetic. Are you scared that someone smaller than you is standing up to you? You whiny baby," Simon says with that smirk still on his face.

"THAT'S IT!", Bobby yells as he goes to punch Simon. Simon casually catches Bobby's fist in his hand.

Simon then squeezes Bobby's fist and there is an audible crack as Simon squeezed Bobby's fist.

"Ow!," Bobby yelled out. Simon then swept Bobby's feet out from under him, grabbed him by his shirt and punched him in the face, then slammed him into a row of lockers. The smirk on Simon's face is now more sinister.

"That's me going easy on you," Simon says darkly before throwing Bobby on the floor.

Bobby, now wide eyed, gets up and backs away from Simon.

"Hey, back off!", Bobby says with obvious fear in his voice.

Simon says, "Still think I'm joking?" He then smashed the glass on a fire extinguisher container and picked up a large piece of glass. Simon now has an evil smile on his face.

"Get away! You're crazy!", Bobby exclaims.

"Crazy, or absolutely terrifying?", Simon says before letting out an evil laugh that his brothers and the Chipettes never heard him do before. Simon continued to walk toward Bobby while wielding the piece of glass and the sinister smile still on his face.

Alvin, now having seen enough, runs to Simon and grabs him to restrain him. He then said, "Simon, what's wrong with you?!"

Simon then tightly shuts his eyes for a few seconds, then opens them up. The evil smile no longer on his face.

Bobby then says to Alvin, "Keep your brother away from me! He's lost his mind!" He then walks away quickly.

Alvin says to Simon, "What's gotten into you? You were threatening Bobby with a piece of glass!"

Simon looks at his older brother and says, "What are you talking about? I didn't do anything like that."

Brittany says, "You just did! Have you lost your mind?!"

Simon feels something in his hand and looks. He sees the piece of glass and gasps before dropping it.

"I don't remember getting this! Honestly, I don't know how that got there!", Simon says frantically.

Theodore then says, "You were teasing and taunting Bobby and he went to punch you. You then caught his fist, cracked it in your hand, then took him down before you smashed that fire extinguisher container and walked toward him with that piece of glass."

"I don't remember doing anything like that! I wouldn't do anything like that," Simon claims.

"But you did," Eleanor says grimly.

"What is going on?!", Simon says in fear.

"I know it was scary, but we better get to class," Jeanette said.

"You're right, let's get to class and hopefully forget about it," Simon says.

The boys later have one last review in math class before they go to science class and take their exam.

Later at lunch, the Chipmunks and Chipettes are having lunch when Simon once again tightly shut his eyes, opened them up, and looked around.

He then spots Bobby sitting with Derek and stares their way. Bobby notices and looks at Simon. Simon then gets the same smile on his face he had had earlier and makes the slit throat gesture at Bobby before he flickers his tongue at him.

Bobby cringes in fear. Derek notices and asks, "What's wrong?"

Bobby responds, "That blue wearing munk has lost his mind. He's looking over here."

Derek sees Simon staring their way and says to Bobby, "I know you told me what happened earlier. I'm not sure what the heck is going on with him."

The rest of the day went by smoothly for the Chipmunks and Chipettes and they took another exam.

Later after school at the Seville house, Dave is talking with the boys about their day.

"So you had 2 exams today?", Dave asks the boys.

"Yes we did," Alvin responds. He then says, "They weren't as hard as I thought they would be."

"See what studying does for you? That's great to hear," Dave comments.

"I agree," Simon says.

Alvin then says, "I would also like to point out that Simon acted strangely today."

"How strange?", Dave asks.

Alvin answers, "He taunted Bobby at school today when Bobby was trying to take Theodore's lunch. He then kind of beat Bobby up and threatened him with a piece of glass."

"Simon, you did that?", Dave asks in disbelief.

"Alvin, Theodore, and the Chipettes say I did it but I honestly don't remember doing anything like that," Simon says.

"I hope this doesn't mean the strange things are starting up again. If they are, I'm pretty sure that monster Freddy Krueger is behind it," Dave says.

"I hope not," Simon mutters.

At the Miller house, the girls talk with Ms. Miller about school and Simon's strange dark behavior.

"Simon was acting so weird earlier today. I couldn't believe my ears and eyes at the things he was saying and doing to Bobby," Jeanette says.

"Oh my! Simon wouldn't normally act like you and your sisters described. I wonder why he acted like that," Ms. Miller says.

"I don't know, but it actually kind of scared us," Brittany claimed.

"I can see why. That's so out of character for Simon," Ms. Miller says.

"What's even stranger is Simon doesn't remember saying and doing any of those things," Eleanor says.

"It's almost like he was possessed because Simon was just a totally different person," Jeanette claims.

"I'm hoping this doesn't mean Freddy Krueger is going to come after us in another way," Ms. Miller says.

"We're all hoping for the same thing," Brittany says.

Later at the Seville house, the boys have done some extra studying for exams the next day and are having dinner.

"What exams will you have tomorrow?", Dave asks the boys.

"We definitely know one of them is going to be history. Even with as much as I like history, I still kind of worry," Alvin answers.

"We did some extra studying, so you shouldn't worry too much," Simon says.

"I know. I guess I'm just nervous. But I would like to say that how you acted at school has me even more nervous," Alvin claims.

"I still don't remember doing anything like what you've described. Who knows, you may have to videotape me and show me the footage if it happens again at some point," Simon replies.

"I hope it doesn't happen again," Theodore says with concern.

"I agree with Theodore. If it does happen again, you may actually hurt someone really bad," Dave says.

"That's what I'm worried about," Simon replies.

After dinner, the boys watch TV for a while before they have to go to bed.

Dave is tucking the boys into bed for the night and says, "Sweet dreams fellas."

"Goodnight Dave," the Chipmunks respond. Dave then heads to bed.

At the Miller house, Ms. Miller is doing the same thing with the Chipettes.

"Goodnight dears. Get plenty of rest for further exams tomorrow," Ms. Miller says.

"We will," Jeanette says. The girls then say, "Goodnight Ms. Miller." Ms. Miller then goes to bed.

Back at the Seville house, the Chipmunks are falling asleep. Simon then hears Freddy's raspy voice say, "You are mine. Great job my little helper," before laughing evilly.

Simon starts squirming in his bed and moans out, "I'm not yours. I'm not helping you, go away!" Alvin hears Simon moaning and looks over to his bed. He helplessly watches his nerdy brother squirm and moan and thinks, "What is going on with you Simon?"

At the Woods house, Bobby has fallen asleep when he feels a force hold him down. He opens his eyes and watches his sheets fly off of him and gasps.

He then hears an evil laugh and looks up only to see Freddy Krueger looking down on him with an evil demented smile.

"We meet again you pathetic little piggy. It's time to finish your lesson in true fear," Freddy snarls with that smile still on his face.

"No, leave me alone! Go away!", Bobby yells out in fear.

"Why would I do that when you still haven't fully learned?", Freddy asks tauntingly. He then raises his right hand up and says, "Last part of the lesson is this," before stabbing Bobby in the stomach.

Bobby screams in pain and Freddy chuckles evilly. Freddy then says, "See? You're getting it now. I knew you could learn," before plunging his knives deeper into Bobby's abdomen, causing Bobby to scream again in pain.

Freddy then uses his left hand to cover Bobby's mouth. Freddy puts one of his knives to his lips and shushes Bobby before smiling evilly at him again.

Bobby is shaking with fear as he can do nothing about what Freddy is doing to him. Freddy again raises his gloved hand and slashes Bobby across the chest, then the face, and from his chest down to his abdomen.

Freddy watches with an evil smile as life drains from Bobby's eyes. After Bobby goes limp, Freddy removes his left hand from Bobby's mouth and says, "You're dismissed….from life!", before laughing evilly.

In reality, Bobby is lying slashed in a pool of blood on his bed, dead.

Freddy Krueger has claimed another victim. Could he also have something to do with Simon's strange behavior? Please review!
