Soon, the Christmas party was at full swing as all the bots and humans had fun. Optimus and Jetfire were chatting with Scourge while Landmine was chatting with Leobreaker and his mate Snarl. Red Alert had shocked all the bots there by showing up, as they had figured he had left to go elsewhere, but he stated that he had decided to make an appearance. The others just nodded.
Red alert found himself talking with Mudflap, Hotshot, Override, and Clocker, who was Leobreaker and Snarl's other mate. Red Alert knew what these four were talking about as they had all been told at one time or another that they were sparked.
"So, have any of you told your mates yet?" Red Alert asked, hoping they had.
"Nope. My mates don't even seem to be happy thinking of sparklings. And if I had to guess, I don't think I am alone in being sparked between my mates and I" Hotshot piped up, though not loud enough to be overheard by his mates.
"We've been too busy planning this party for me to even have time to tell mine" Mudflap answered, drawing a sigh from Red Alert. This was not going well
"I told, but I don't think they believed me" Clocker answered, feeling frustrated with his mates. Red Alert was at least glad Clocker had tried.
"Scourge has been too much of a thorn in my backside" Override stated. "I just don't see him listening or caring."
"You all need to tell them, and the sooner the better. And I will go secretly scan your mates, Hotshot. But I have to head out soon, and so I will say it again, you need to tell them" Red stated and then soon headed off.
"Well, best get this over with" Override blurted out and she headed for her mate, who seemed to be enthralled by Optimus' story. Optimus soon stopped his story and Override was able to finally tell her mate, who was stunned. Optimus congratulated the pair, unaware that he was being secretly scanned by Red Alert, who sighed after scanning Optimus. Scourge and Override soon left, both happy.
Mudflap was still too nervous. "I think I'll wait until party is over" Mudflap stated, wanting to tell his mates in private. Clocker and Hotshot nodded, even as Hotshot received a secret comm from Red alert, Alerting Hotshot to news.
"Well, I guess I am going to see if I can get my mates to pay attention this time" Clocker stated and he headed for his mates. They were a bit surprised to see him. Summoning up his courage, he told them once again that he was sparked. This time, they reacted with joy and took him home to share that joy.
Seeing the the party was winding down, Hotshot finally headed to his mates. Jetfire and Optimus were caught a bit off guard, as they were no talking with Landmine. "I have a confession to make" Hothsot stated. Both Optimus and Jetfire looked at the bot. Hotshot swallowed hard. "I… Im sparked" Hotshto stated, lowering his helm, fearing his mates would hate this. While stunned, both Jetfire and Optimus went to their mate to support him. Hotshot felt a bit better but then revealed the news Red Alert had found – Optimus was sparked too. Optimus nearly passed out at the news, but soon, the three headed off, happy. And soon the party was over. All that was left was for Mudflap to reveal his secret. And that made the young bot nervous. He hoped his mates would be happy, but he wasn't sure they would be. All he could do now was hope for the best.
