Chapter 26
It's Saturday morning and the Chipmunks are getting up for the day. Dave is also up and preparing to take Simon to the hospital.
"How's your head Simon?", Dave asks.
"It hurts, but other than that I feel fine," Simon replies.
"Good, but I don't want to take a chance that your brain might be bleeding or that your skull might be cracked," Dave says.
"True," Simon replies.
"I didn't swing the bat as hard as I could, just enough to take him down," Alvin explains.
"Then that hopefully means no cracked skull or brain bleed, but I don't want to take any chances," Dave says.
Dave and Simon go to the door to leave when he says to Alvin, "We'll only be gone for a little bit, you and Theodore behave yourselves."
"We will, don't worry," Alvin says.
Simon thinks, "That's actually a reason to worry when he says that."
Dave and Simon leave for the hospital while Alvin and Theodore get some cereal and watch TV.
About an hour later, Simon and Dave return and Theodore quickly asks, "What did they say?"
"Good news, no brain bleed or fractured skull," Dave answers.
"That's good," Theodore says in relief.
"That means Freddy is a bit less of a headache for this situation than we thought. Still a headache unfortunately for you Simon," Alvin says.
Simon grins slightly and says, "That's kind of a funny way to put it since I still have a bit of a headache."
The phone rings and Dave goes to answer it.
"Hello? Oh hi Ms. Miller. A movie you say? Okay I'll ask them," Dave says on the phone.
He then turns and says to the chipmunks, "Ms. Miller wants to know if you boys would be interested in coming over for a movie. Would you like to go?"
"That sounds nice!", Theodore says happily.
"Sure. A movie sounds nice," Alvin says.
"I'd be up for a movie," Simon replies.
Dave goes back to the phone and says, "They said they would like to come over for a movie. Okay they'll see you in a bit." He then hangs up the phone.
We haven't really done much with the Chipettes lately, so seeing a movie with them would definitely be nice," Theodore says.
"I'm sure that over the summer, you and the Chipettes will be able to do a lot more," Dave says.
"Yeah, if this whole thing with Freddy Krueger is over by then," Alvin replies.
"Think more positively Alvin. I know we'll find a way to beat Freddy and get rid of him," Dave says.
"I know. It's just that Freddy has been tormenting us for so long already and I'm just kind of drained," Alvin responds.
"This has been draining for all of us," Simon says.
Some time later, the boys go over to the Miller house to watch the movie with the girls.
"So nice that you boys could come over here to see a movie with the girls," Ms. Miller says.
"We haven't been able to do much with the girls; mainly because of the school year and lately this whole situation with that monster Freddy Krueger," Alvin responds.
Ms. Miller notices Simon rubbing his head and asks, "What's wrong?"
"I just have a headache right now," Simon replies, not wanting to mention that he got hit in the head with a baseball bat.
"Hold on, I've got some aspirin I can give you," Ms. Miller replies.
She goes into the cabinet and gets 2 aspirin pills and gives them to Simon, which he takes.
"Hopefully that will help," Ms. Miller says.
"I'm sure it will," Simon says.
A while later, the Chipmunks and Chipettes are part of the way into watching a romantic comedy movie. They've been passing around a large bowl of popcorn and eating from it.
"What do you think?", Brittany asks the boys.
"It's actually pretty good," Alvin says.
"It's very nice," Theodore replies.
"Could use more screaming and blood," Simon says in a raspy voice.
"This isn't that kind of movie," Jeanette says. She then gasps when she realizes what Simon's voice sounded like.
"I know how to get those things though," Simon rasps with an evil smile on his face. He then goes for Brittany and throws her to the floor.
"What are you doing Simon?!", Ms. Miller exclaims.
"You're about to see," Simon says evilly. He then raises his right hand, which has finger knives on it and goes to slash Brittany.
Brittany screams and kicks Simon off of her.
"Get away you creep!", Brittany exclaims fearfully.
"What's going on with Simon?!", Ms. Miller asks with fear.
"That's not Simon, that's Freddy!", Alvin replies. He, Theodore, and Eleanor team up to try to restrain Simon, but he quickly breaks free.
"I guess you're volunteering," Simon snarls with an evil smile.
Eleanor goes to punch the possessed Simon, but he catches her hand and backhands her to the floor.
"You can't stop me, I'm almost there," Simon evilly says.
"What do you mean by that?", Alvin asks.
"Oh, you'll find out. It's going to be loads of fun!", Simon says before laughing evilly.
Ms. Miller goes to grab Simon from behind, but he quickly moves out of the way.
"Looks like you really want to die, am I right?", Simon sneers.
"Get away!", Ms. Miller screams with fright.
Simon then drops to the floor twitching. The knives retract back into his fingers. He then opens his eyes and sees everyone looking at him fearfully.
"What happened? Was it Freddy?", Simon asks.
"It unfortunately was," Eleanor answers.
"That was horrible and scary!", Ms. Miller says.
"I'm so sorry Ms. Miller," Simon replies as he helps her to her feet.
"It was just as you girls described. Knives on the fingers, raspy voice, and brown eyes. It was terrifying," Ms. Miller says with fear still in her voice.
"We know," the Chipettes say glumly.
"I know what I did was awful, I'm so sorry," Simon says regretfully.
"We know it wasn't actually you, it was Freddy Krueger," Ms. Miller responds.
"We need to do something before this situation gets even worse," Jeanette says.
"I know, but what can we do?", Brittany replies.
"I don't know. I wish I did," Alvin says.
The boys decide to stay for a while to help the Millers calm down. They also wind up finishing the rest of the movie.
After the movie, Ms. Miller says, "Thank you for staying with us after what happened."
"We felt you and the girls needed comforting," Theodore replies.
"That was very nice," Eleanor states.
"I just want this whole thing to be over with," Simon says.
"We all do. We hate seeing you go through this," Jeanette responds.
"I just hope that we can somehow stop what Freddy has planned," Brittany says.
"No doubt," Alvin adds.
"You better get home before Dave starts worrying, but it was a nice time aside from Freddy rearing his ugly head again. Also thanks again for being with us after Freddy came again," Ms. Miller says.
"No problem, we'll see you later," Alvin says as he and his brothers go out the door. The boys then head back home.
After the boys walk through the door, Dave asks, "How was the movie?"
"It was good, aside from Freddy rearing his ugly head again," Alvin answers.
"Freddy Krueger gave you guys another incident?", Dave asked with concern.
"Unfortunately, yes. He made me attack the girls and Ms. Miller," Simon says.
"We stayed with them for a while to help them calm down from the incident," Theodore adds.
"I'm glad you boys chose to comfort the Millers after what happened. Still though, this needs to stop one way or another before someone really gets hurt or Freddy uses Simon to get him another victim," Dave says.
Some time later, the boys are having dinner with Dave.
"Did you and the girls finish watching the movie you were seeing?", Dave asks the boys.
"We actually did. We did it to help them cope with what happened with Freddy," Alvin answers.
"We didn't want them to just keep thinking about it and not have anything to help them relax," Theodore says.
"Okay. I know it was kind of a strange question to ask after what happened, but I had to ask," Dave says.
"We went over for a movie, so we figured we'll finish it. That definitely would have given us a reason to stay over there with the Millers and help them calm down after the incident," Alvin replies.
At the Miller house, the girls and Ms. Miller are having dinner.
"This stuff with Freddy Krueger has gone on too long. It needs to stop!", Brittany says.
"I know. It's also very harsh knowing what that monster could do to Simon," Jeanette claims.
"Not just him, but anybody else he decides to go after," Ms. Miller replies.
"I'm just worried that Simon could kill someone and he'll get put in a mental hospital or prison for a crime Freddy committed," Jeanette says.
"Or if he decides to flat out kill Simon," Eleanor speaks up.
"You girls are right in the fact Freddy Krueger has to be stopped. The mystery is, how?", Ms. Miller says.
"We better find out quickly before something else happens," Brittany responds.
Later on at the Seville house, the boys have played some video games and now are being sent to bed.
"Goodnight boys. Try not to think about Freddy," Dave says.
Alvin responds, "It'll be hard though, but we'll try. Goodnight Dave."
"Goodnight Dave," Simon and Theodore say. Dave then goes off to bed.
Simon then goes and retrieves the 2 baseball bats that were used the previous night, hands them to Alvin and Theodore, and says, "Same rules as last night. If I start acting weird, you can use these on me when you need to."
"Okay, we'll keep an eye on you," Theodore says.
Later, as Alvin and Theodore are watching Simon sleep, they notice Simon start to twitch in his bed.
"It's happening again!", Theodore exclaims.
"I know. Get ready," Alvin replies.
Knives come out of Simon's fingers, but something different starts to happen. His body starts glowing brightly.
"What's going on?! This hasn't happened before!", Alvin cries out.
Simon's right hand then moves to the light emanating from his body and cuts it. Alvin and Theodore gasp as they see a figure emerge from the light and step onto the floor. The light then fades away and the 2 boys quickly turn on the bedroom light to fully see the figure.
"Freddy Krueger!", Alvin and Theodore exclaim in unison.
Freddy laughs evilly and puts on his hat. He then says, "Your brother was very useful to me, but now his usefulness is over. Now he dies!"
Freddy goes to kill Simon, but Alvin and Theodore start hitting him repeatedly with the baseball bats. It barely affects Freddy and he chuckles evilly.
"Are you boys volunteering? If you are, I'll be more than happy to kill you first!", Freddy sneers. He then swipes at the boys with his knives and they run screaming.
Freddy looks at the unconscious Simon and says, "Don't worry. I'll be back for you when I'm done with your brothers," before laughing an evil laugh and starts chasing the boys.
Alvin and Theodore have run into Dave's room and are trying to wake him up.
"Freddy Krueger is after us!", Theodore screams.
Dave wakes up and says, "Freddy's after you?"
"Yes! He came out of Simon and now he's after us! We need to warn the Millers!", Alvin exclaims.
Freddy then runs into the room and swipes at Dave and the boys, but they avoid the knives and run down the stairs and for the Miller house.
They bang loudly on the front door as they see Freddy running down the street. Brittany answers the door and asks, "What's wrong with you?"
Dave, Alvin, and Theodore quickly get in the house, slam the door and lock it.
"Freddy has come out of Simon! He's after us!", Alvin shouts in fear.
Jeanette, Eleanor, and Ms. Miller all come out of their rooms to see what's going on.
"Freddy is after you?", Jeanette asks.
"Yes! He's right outside!", Theodore yells in fright.
Freddy then starts banging on the door and the group collectively screams. They then watch in horror as Freddy slashes through the door and is able to unlock it and open it.
"Here's Freddy!", Freddy says before letting out a raspy evil laugh. He then runs in the house and tries to slash the group.
Ms. Miller then punches Freddy in the face, but it has little effect. He then stabs Ms. Miller in her deltoid area and she screams in pain and collapses.
"Ms. Miller!", Brittany yells out.
"Run! Get out of here!", Ms. Miller yells. She then sweeps Freddy's feet out from under him and again yells, "Run!"
The Chipmunks, Chipettes, and Dave run out of the house and hide in a large bush.
Freddy has come out of the house and is looking for them, but can't find them. He then says, "Looks like they have given me the slip, at least for now. But they can't hide forever."
He then looks at the other houses and gets an evil smile on his face and says, "In the meantime, until I find them again, I think I'll have some fun." He then rubs his knives together and laughs evilly.
