Chapter 28
It's Sunday morning and Dave is watching the news while the boys come downstairs.
"Top local story today, a massacre occurred in a Los Angeles neighborhood last night. 8 people were killed and there have been witnesses who describe the killer as wearing a red and green sweater and a knife glove on his right hand," the news anchor says on the TV.
"The work of Freddy Krueger," Alvin says.
"We know," Dave replies.
"At least Freddy Krueger is gone now and we were able to get our best sleep in weeks," Theodore says happily.
"I say we celebrate with a free concert," Alvin says.
"Why a free concert?", Simon asks.
"It would be a way for us to get back into concert shape for the shows over the summer," Alvin answers.
Dave says, "That's actually a pretty good idea Alvin. I'll make flyers."
"Make sure to include the Chipettes as well," Theodore adds.
"I will," Dave replies.
The Chipmunks then go overnight to the Miller house to tell the girls. Ms. Miller opens the door after Alvin knocks.
"Hi there, what do you need?", Ms. Miller says cheerfully.
"We want to tell the Chipettes that we are organizing a free concert to celebrate finally being done with Freddy Krueger. We also want to include them," Alvin responds.
The girls, hearing what's going on, come to the door.
"What are you doing here?", Brittany asks the boys.
"We came to tell you that we're going to do a celebratory concert and that we're going to include you and your sisters," Alvin answers.
"It would be a good way to get back into concert shape for the shows over the summer. Plus we want to celebrate finally getting rid of that monster Freddy Krueger," Simon adds.
"I'll admit that actually sounds like a good idea," Brittany replies.
"Oh yes, especially since Freddy is finally dealt with," Jeanette adds.
"Let us know when we're going to do the show," Eleanor says.
"We will. We'll see you later," Theodore says before he and his brothers go back home.
When the boys get back home, Dave has printed many flyers and says, "I also made a call for a reservation for the show and we got one."
"Wow that was fast," Alvin says.
"I know. We got really fortunate," Dave replies. He then hands a big stack of flyers to the Chipmunks and they go around town and post them.
The concert is scheduled for Tuesday night.
On Monday at school, the Chipmunks and Chipettes tell Nathan about Freddy Krueger finally being gone as well as the concert.
"That's such a relief that Freddy Krueger is finally out of our hair. Plus you guys having a show is fantastic," Nathan says.
"Will you be there?", Theodore asks.
"Of course I'll be there. When is the show?", Nathan says.
"Tuesday night," Simon replies.
"Awesome. That also happens to be the last day of school. That will make it even better," Nathan says.
"Oh yes, I agree," Alvin says.
The last 2 days of school go by smoothly and the 2 groups are preparing for their show.
"Do you have the set list memorized?", Dave asks the Chipmunks and Chipettes.
"Yes, of course we do," Alvin says.
Ms. Miller then says, "Y'all do your best."
"We will Ms. Miller," Brittany replies.
At showtime, the crowd is restless and cheering in anticipation. They then erupt in a loud cheer when the 2 groups take the stage.
"Are you ready to rock tonight?", Alvin says into the microphone. The crowd cheered accordingly.
The Chipmunks and Chipettes then get their respective instruments and start playing.
They play "I Want You to Want Me", "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", and "You Really Got Me".
After they finish the latest song, Alvin says to the crowd, "This next song is dedicated to everyone who gets scared at night like we did for a good while. It's to let you know, there will always be comfort."
Chipettes: Hey boys, just what was that noise coming from way over there?
If it wasn't you and it wasn't me, then what in the wide wide world could it be?
Chipmunks: (howl)
Chipettes: You want to scream and shout and jump right out of your skin.
Chipmunks: (howl)
Chipettes: Don't be crying out loud.
Come on and take my hand and you will understand.
Brittany: Oh, baby!
Chipettes: Everything's gonna be alright.
Don't you be afraid when things go bump in the night.
Get closer to me and baby hold on tight.
'Cause everything's gonna be alright.
Chipmunks: Hey girls, we don't wanna rock your world.
But we don't believe in that mean old boogeyman.
There ain't no such thing, no how, no way, nowhere.
But sometimes late at night, we still get a little scared.
Chipettes: (howl)
Chipmunks: You want to scream and shout and jump right out of your skin.
Chipettes: (howl)
Chipmunks: Don't be crying out loud.
Come on and take my hand and you will understand.
Brittany: Oh, baby!
All: Everything's gonna be alright.
Don't you be afraid when things go bump in the night.
Get closer to me and baby hold on tight.
'Cause everything's gonna be alright.
As the Chipmunks and Chipettes perform, a weakened Freddy Krueger watches from the dream world.
Freddy says, "Yes, sing and celebrate while you can; because if you think I'll be gone forever, well, you're dreaming." He then laughs evilly.
The End
Possible sequel? I do not own the song "Everything's gonna be alright", the rights go to the right owners. Hope you enjoyed it, please review!
