Warnings for this chapter: parental fighting, and implied drug usage.

"YOU FUCKING BITCH!" Jin slowly opens her eyes at the sudden shout waking her up. She stares straight ahead at her cluttered desk, hearing something loud shatter downstairs.

"What? What the fuck did I do this time?"

"What the fuck did you buy?! I've lost ¥40000!" Jin grabs her phone laying next to her and turns it on. 0536.

"I didn't touch your fucking drug money, bastard!"

"Don't fucking lie to me!"

CRASH

Jin gets out of bed and walks over to her closet. She glances down when Bun-Bun rubs himself against her shins. Another crash, louder than the last, echoes throughout the house as Jin crouches down to pet her cat.

"Good morning Bun-Bun. How long have they been fighting this morning?" She asks curiously, scratching behind Bun-Bun's ears. He meows before walking away.

"That long, hm?" The blonde sighs and stands back up. She rolls her neck while grabbing her school uniform hanging off the door of her closet.

"I didn't take your fucking money!"

Jin quickly takes off her baggy shirt and her shorts. She tunes out the screaming match and starts to put on her uniform. It didn't take her long.

"–fact you bought that bastard something with that money! What the fuck'd you buy? I fucking know you took my money!"

"I didn't fucking take your money! And besides, why would I fucking use your money to buy someone something?!"

Jin pulls up a pair of pastel purple thigh high socks before grabbing her baggy pastel blue hoodie. She pulls it over her incomplete uniform before tying her uniform jacket around her waist. Bun-Bun rubs himself against her ankles again.

"I know Bun-Bun. You're hungry. I'm finished getting dressed." Jin crouches down and lifts her cat up. "What do you think I should do with my hair?"

Bun-Bun meows before lightly pawing the blonde's face. Jin nods sagely as she walks out of her bedroom.

"That sounds like a good idea." Jin places Bun-Bun on her shoulder before pulling up her hair. She quickly ties the curly mess in a ponytail.

"God fucking damnit, you bitch!"

Jin walks into the kitchen, ignoring the loud fighting to grab herself something to eat. A vase flies past her unflinching expression. She glances at her parents screaming match, uninterested, before grabbing an apple and walking out of the kitchen.

"Bun-Bun, I'll let you out. I should be home around four, okay?" Jin says calmly as she grabs her satchel hanging from the coat rack. Bun-Bun nods once and jumps off his owner's shoulder, landing gracefully on the ground. Jin's mouth twitches in an attempt to smile before she slips on her shoes.

"I'm leaving for school!" The blonde calls out before opening the front door. She goes unnoticed, as usual. Jin waits for Bun-Bun to slither out before closing the door behind her.

"I'll be out around 4:30, so if you're going to wait for me, please do cause any chaos on the first day of school." Jin tightens her ponytail. "You can cause chaos tomorrow."

Bun-Bun licks his paw innocently, making his owner sigh. "Alright, but I expect no dead animals in my bed for the rest of the year. Now, let's go."

Jin starts walking towards the street. Her cat follows her, giving their surroundings watchful eyes in case of anything happening.

"Akiho-san," Hitoshi's exhausted greeting surprises the blonde. She turns and sees Hitoshi trudging towards her with hands stuffed in his pockets.

"Shinsō-kun, I didn't realize you lived that way," Jin states blankly. Bun-Bun meows loudly before jumping up onto Hitoshi's leg. The insomniac instinctively grabs Bun-Bun before he could fall and holds him.

"Bun-Bun wants to cause chaos at UA. I suggest you let him go before we reach the school," She adds with a soft expression towards her cat. Bun-Bun ignores her in favor of slinking out of the purple haired teenager's hands to climb up his body. The cat calmly sits on his shoulder, now giving Jin an offended glare.

"I'm enabling you to cause chaos, am I not?" She points out, making Bun-Bun huff haughtily. Hitoshi snorts and starts walking next to the monotonous girl.

"General Studies?" Jin asks quietly as Bun-Bun carefully walks across Hitoshi's shoulders to get to his owner's.

Shock, surprise, happiness, self-doubt starts to surround the purple haired teenager. "Hero Course. I can't fucking believe it."

"Well, it's happening. Congrats." Jin gives him a small smile. "I would have been disappointed in the school. Having the first person I'll be able to test my inventions on not able to use them, I'd might have started a riot."

"That sounds moderately worrying," Hitoshi says with a raised eyebrow.

Jin shrugs with a hum. "Nothing will harm you. Hopefully."

Bun-Bun meows with a wise nod, agreeing with his owner. Hitoshi stares at them with a slightly paler complexion.

"You won't need to worry about any of the specifics, Shinsō-kun. You'll be in good hands," The blonde adds in a slightly dull tone.

"...sure," Hitoshi says, doubt and a small amount of fear mixing into his other emotions. Jin hums again, giving him another smile before focusing on the road ahead.

"Which class? I'm in 1-H," She changes the subject with a curious tone. Hitoshi slouches a bit and huffs slightly in amusement.

"1-A. Originally I was going to General Studies, but UA sent me a letter last week about one of the hero students not being someone they wanted attending the school, so they gave me the empty spot." Jin winces at the self-loathing.

"They picked you out of 60 students to take the spot. I saw the rankings of the written exams for the Hero Course and the General Studies Course. You placed in the top ten in both," She points out dully. Hitoshi makes a small noise in acknowledgement. Jin sighs silently, but doesn't mention anything about it again. Baby steps.

Jin looks around the empty hallways in full curiosity. The sounds of the chaos Bun-Bun was causing behind her became familiar background noise as she searched for her classroom. Her hands itches to be in the workshop though, but she knew to be patient. At least for the first day.

"–face mask would be better."

"Black or grey? Shinsō-kun's hair doesn't give much room for complementary colors."

"I'll need to reward Bun-Bun for his chaos. A new toy?"

Jin spots the bright lettering of 1-H on the giant door before she realizes and sighs softly. She walks over and gives the door a minor inspection.

"Pretentious."

"Is it made with reinforced steel or–"

"I wonder if it could contain an explosion."

She slides open the door, ignoring her thoughts. Jin blinks once at the scene in front of her before taking one step to the left, right before something flies past.

"Oops, sorry!" A short 16 year old girl with long pink hair, gold eyes, and tan skin exclaims brightly, not looking apologetic at all. The mostly full classroom starts to talk loudly, some apologizing to Jin and the others yelling at the girl to be more apologetic.

"...testing out how reinforced the door is?" Jin asks, cutting off the rest of the classmates. A large, manic grin grows on the girl's face and she bounds over.

"Yes! What're your thoughts on it?" The girl asks, almost touching noses with Jin from how close she was.

"Reinforced steel or maybe something stronger." Jin glances at the door with a dull look of curiosity. "It may be able to withstand an RPG, but that seems a bit unlikely. What did you shoot at it?"

"Basically an RPG that doesn't explode!" Jin nods in understanding, not at all bothered by how close the girl is.

"Sorry for interrupting your experiment," She says, making the girl grin even wider.

"Hatsume Mei!" The pink haired teenager exclaims brightly.

"Akiho Jin... nice to meet you."

"You're just going to brush off the fact that she almost killed you?!" A boy exclaims loudly. Jin blinks at him before shrugging.

"It likely would have fractured my ribs, but I wouldn't have died." Jin tilts her head in thought. "Probably."

"...probably?" Jin ignores her slightly shocked class to focus back on Mei.

"If you need any help with the door experiment, I am willing to help, Hatsume-san," The blonde says dully before walking towards her seat. She's so excited. It wasn't everyday you meet someone so similar to her.

Hey! Hope you all like the new chapter! I'd like to apologize for how long I haven't updated. I am going through this... motivation block (?) and it's been stopping me from writing and from doing schoolwork.

I'd like to apologize for future sporadic updates, but I am getting through this. I hope you all are enjoying the story so far! Bye.
