Oh, MY! Amanda's writing...
SHOUNENAIIIIIIIIII?
...it's hardly any. This is just a cute little oneshot I decided to write while I wait for my family and I to go apple picking. I'm psyched, I haven't gone since I was, like, four.
Disclaimer: I dun own Axel or Roxas. Their butts belong to Square Enix and Disney.

Apple picking.
Of all the stupid activities, he had to choose APPLE PICKING.
Why couldn't people just go to the grocery store and buy some apples? NO, they insisted on picking them in the freezing cold because they'd be "fresh" that way.
Fresh my ass, Roxas thought, shoving his hands in his pockets and blowing a strand of blond hair out of his eyes. A crisp wind nipped at his ankles, which were protected by a pair of baggy jeans and sneakers. The sun glistened off the apples hanging from the trees, giving them a surreal look.
"C'mon, slowpoke, I'm all the way up here!" a voice called from farther down the line. Axel waved, grinning as the same cold breeze tugged at his red scarf, threatening to tear it off his thin neck.
Roxas rolled his eyes and moved past the trees. Axel had nagged him all week to go apple picking in a world called Earth, seeing as that's where the best apples supposedly were. Axel loved apples: not only did they come in three different colors, including red, but they had a sweet taste and a nifty crunch to them. Eventually Roxas had agreed, seeing as how he had never been to a whole lot of other worlds before and because the look in Axel's eyes was too soft to resist.
As he sauntered closer, he could see that Axel had been picking like a madman and had two baskets full already. He handed one to Roxas, whose hands were empty. "Help me carry these, will ya?"
Roxas agreed and took the apple baskets. "Why do we need so many? Shouldn't we save some for the kids here?"
"The Superior will give us extra brownie points if we do his produce shopping FOR him."
"...Axel. A truckload of apples. That is NOT produce shopping. Besides, it's only one fruit."
Axel smirked as he hucked a particularly large apple at his young friend, who dodged it. "Everyone'll live." He tossed a stray red strand out of his eyes before hopping down from the ladder and rubbing his hands together. "Chilly, huh?"
"Whatever." Roxas plucked one of the red fruits from the overflowing basket and bit into it, holding it in his mouth as he shifted the load from one hand to the other.
The Nobody was moving quickly to the next full tree, eager to get their expedition over with. But he stopped when he noticed that Axel wasn't with him. He turned, his blue eyes boring into Axel's sea-green ones. "You coming? It was YOUR idea in the first place."
Axel looked at the leaf-laden dirt, digging the heel of his boot into it. "We'll share the apples when we get home, okay? Don't eat them now."
"But they're freeesssshhh..." Roxas went back to where Axel was standing and waved one of the baskets in his face, smiling for the first time that day.
Axel tilted his head before responding, "...neh, you're right." He pushed Roxas into the shade of the tree they were just at, sitting down next to him and grabbing an apple from their stash before giving Roxas a sideways hug and taking a chunk out of the red orb.
"Rox, we're best friends, right?"
"...yeah. You and me. Forever."
