Jordan- 13
One evening, Jordan was trying to make it home before her curfew. She was studying with Eva and she was on her way home. The thirteen-year-old was hoping to make it home before her father did, he said he was wrapping stuff up at work.
As the teen walked she heard shouting, as she walked it grew louder and louder. She ducked into an alleyway and saw two men fighting, she pulled her phone out and recorded it suddenly another man came out and shot both men point blank in the face as they both dropped to the ground. Jordan covered her mouth as she held her screams.
The guy thought he heard something and ran off. She knows she shouldn't but Jordan went to see the bodies and froze. It wasn't her first time seeing a dead body nor a man shot. She had seen it just months ago with Yates. With shaky hands she called 911.
Soon a patrol car got there and the officer was taking Jordan's statement. A second later Kim and Sean pulled up, when they saw the teen they froze.
"Oh no. This ain't good". Sean said.
"Let's go," Kim told her partner.
Jordan gave her statement while sniffing back tears, the two arrived over.
"Jo, honey are you alright?" Kim asked.
"You guys know her?" The officer asked.
"She's the daughter of our Sergeant who runs Intelligence".
The cop handed it over to them, Jordan was shaking and crying. She was fighting of sending herself into a panic attack. Sean guided her back to their car and put his jacket on her. Kim had called all of intelligence. Within a few minutes they arrived, when they arrived they surveyed the scene.
"You guys got a witness?" Jay asked Kim.
"Yeah about that" She replied pointing to the car.
They all looked over and saw Jordan. Hank felt his heart race as he went over. "Jo! Jordan!"
Sean and the teen heard the familiar gruff voice. The thirteen-year-old saw her father and quickly hugged him. "Daddy" she cried grabbing his shirt.
"Shh it's alright. You're safe".
Erin had felt heart broken, her sister had finally gotten over the Yates situation. Now she was a witness in a murder. Poor kid can't catch a break.
"I hope this doesn't drag her down". Erin said softly.
"We gotta catch this bastard so she doesn't testify". Adam spoke.
They all knew what happened with witnesses who testified they ended up dead. That was not gonna be Jordan. If need be they'll tear the entire city apart until they find the bastard.
Jordan had refused to let go of her father; he gently pulled her back. "It's all gonna be fine sweetheart"
"I was walking...i heard yelling.."
"Shh don't say anything not until I tell you too"
She nodded understanding, Sean raised his eye at that. If the kid saw something she should say something.
"Halstead, Dawson," Hank called two of his detectives.
They went over. "What's up Sarge". Jay spoke.
"Take Jo down to the district. She does not, I repeat not say a word until I get there. Are we clear".
"Crystal clear" They said in union.
"I wanna stay with you daddy. Let me stay with you" Jordan pleaded with her father.
"I promise it won't be for long. Jay and Antonio will keep you safe. I promise. Once we're finished here we'll be at the district before you know it". He told her softly.
She nodded and he wiped her eyes. He kissed her head and sent her with his two detectives. He called Jay back for a moment.
"Sarge?" Jay says.
"Jo doesn't leave either of your sights. If she goes anywhere, one of you is to follow her. I don't care if it's to use the bathroom go with her. Stand outside. I'm not losing my little girl again"
Hank would never admit it but after the Yates incident, he had started having some nightmares. He'd wake up in cold sweats most nights and run to check on his little girl. At times when he couldn't sleep he'd just sit in his daughter's room to watch her sleep. It had given him comfort to know she was there and she was safe. And more importantly the bastard who traumatized her was dead. Now she was a witness in a murder.
"Understood"
Jay walked over to the car where Antonio and Jordan were. Once they were secure they took off. Hank saw the look on Sean's face.
"You got something to say?" He asked.
"Why didn't you tell Jordan to say something. She's a witness most likely the key witness-" Sean started but was cut off.
"Let me stop you right there. First, Jordan is MY daughter. My child. Not yours. I do what I have to do to protect her so if I told her not to talk. It's most likely to protect her and keep her safe. Second, I know she's the witness, more important of why she shouldn't say anything. I almost lost my daughter a few times, I'll be damned it happens again. Don't question how I parent my daughter. We clear patrolman"
"Copy that Sergeant".
"Get to work"
Sean went and got to work. The others started gathering stuff on the two bodies.
21st District
Jordan was in the lounge rubbing her arms, her eyes still wide and full of unshed tears. Jay and Antonio were in the squad talking quietly. They had the door closed so the teen wouldn't hear them.
"Tony, you know as well as I do we gotta take her statement" Jay said softly.
"I know but we both saw the look in Hank's eyes, if he finds out he'll ring both our necks. I say just wait till he gets here and get her statement" Antonio replied.
"Fine. Poor kid's been through enough the past few months. She doesn't need this"
"No kidding. Her nightmares just stopped a couple months ago. Now they're probably gonna be back"
Trudy came rushing up. "I just heard, where's Jo?"
Jay pointed to the lounge, the older desk sergeant went to the lounge. Jordan jumped when the door to the lounge opened when she saw her godmother she ran over to her hugging her. Trudy hugged her close, kissing her head, she held her goddaughter into her side.
Soon the two detectives went in the room, Jordan stayed close to her godmother. Jay sat some snacks and drinks down on the table.
"There ya go honey" He said gently.
"Thanks Jay, but I'm not really hungry. Is my dad back yet?" Jordan replied, wiping her eyes.
"Not yet sweetie". Antonio spoke. "You should try and get something on your stomach".
She picked up some chips and slowly ate them, Jay gave her a can of soda.
"Thanks" She said softly, opening it and drinking it. "Is it ok if I just rest while I wait on my dad?"
"I think that'll be fine"
They all left the teen alone as she laid on the couch, Jay had shut the light out for her.
"Any word on what happened?" Trudy asked.
"All we know so far Jordan watched two guys get gunned down, the others are investigating the scene. Poor kid is shaken up". Antonio replied.
"Get the bastard responsible".
Trudy knew the streets just as well as Hank did. She knew what happens to people who talk to cops. She'll be damned if that happens to her goddaughter.
"We will".
Jordan was in a light sleep, she began muttering under her breath and twitching.
*Nightmare*
Jordan was with Yates, she gave up fighting with him otherwise she'd lose her family. He already had it in her head that it was her fault that her mother was dead. She managed to get away from him and she started running and running.
She had ended up falling and she covered her mouth to keep her from screaming. Bang! Bang! Came two gunshots.
The teen was frozen in her place. Why couldn't she find her father? Where was he? Had he been looking for her?
"Jordan" Now comes Yates voice. "Come out come out wherever you are"
She started to crawl away while keeping quiet. Bang! Bang! Bang! She whimpered. As she was crawling she bumped into something. It was a body. When she looked at it, it was her mother's body. Her eyes went wide.
"Mommy?" She choked out.
Next to Anna's body was Hank's body. Both were dead, a bullet in their foreheads and their eyes open.
"D-D-daddy"
She scurried back and hit something else. She turned and looked to see her brother and his family. "No! Justin! Olive! Daniel!" She screamed.
A tree branch broke and she started to run again, tears were blurring her vision and she fell again. The teen couldn't move when someone appeared over her. It was Yates he bent down. Her breathing was heavy.
"Please...please don't" She pleaded.
"I just want you to know their deaths were your fault" He told her.
"NO!"
*Back to reality*
Jordan screamed loudly from the lounge. It made the three adults jump and they all ran back inside.
"Mommy! Daddy! No wake up please wake up! I'm sorry! Justin! Olive! No no please don't leave me! Daniel! No! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" She cried in her sleep.
They rushed to her, Antonio shook her shoulder gently. "Jordan wake up. Wake up sweetie. It's a dream. You're dreaming".
She kept fighting and thrashing for a few minutes. Jay tried to wake her up. After a few minutes she bolted out of her sleep.
"Hey hey, it's ok Jo. It's alright. It's safe. You're safe". Trudy soothed her.
"My..my dad where's my dad?" She choked out.
"He's in the field, he should be back soon". Jay told her softly.
"He's… he's dead isn't he?"
"No. You're dad isn't dead. He's in the field working a case". Antonio says softly this time.
She got up off the couch and ran from the lounge downstairs, the three adults hot on her trail. Jordan made it outside just as the team came back. Hank hopped out of his car seeing his daughter scared.
"Jo, baby what's wrong" Hank bent down to her level brushing her hair back.
"You...Mommy….Justie….All of you...were gone". She cried. "And it was all my fault he said so"
"Who told you that sweet girl?"
With a wobbling lip she looked up at him. "Him. Yates"
"Come here baby"
She hugged him burying her face in his shoulder crying. They all looked saddened to see her like this. Hank held his daughter protectively. He soothed her the best way he could. It took a few minutes before Hank pulled her back and wiped her eyes.
"I'm just fine sweetheart, see. I'm perfectly fine. And you're brother is fine they're all fine"
"I...I saw…. He killed you and Mommy...Justin, Olive and Daniel too". She sniffed.
"Jo I want you to listen to me honey".
She wiped her eyes and looked at him nodding.
"Yates is dead. He's been dead for a few months now. He can never ever hurt you or anyone again. I promise. You probably had a daydream or a nightmare. It wasn't real. I can promise you that"
She nodded and sniffed again. She hugged him tight. He held her tight and protective. "He can't ever hurt you again".
All she did was nod in response in his shoulder. Soon they all went in as it started to rain. Hank stayed behind his daughter keeping a protective hand on her shoulder. They went to the lounge with Jay and Antonio in tow once they were all in Hank shut the door and closed the blinds. All three adults left their phones in the bullpen, Hank wasn't taking any chances.
"I seriously hope this isn't gonna set her back" Adam spoke from his desk.
"Let's just work on finding the shooter," Alvin says.
The older detective has been through this with his own daughter, Lexie. His daughter had almost been a target; they had managed to put a stop to that. Now it was his goddaughter. They had to put a stop to this, Hank had a few close calls almost losing Jordan. She was practically dead once but she came back. They wouldn't lose her again. If anything happened to her during the case, none of them would be able to stop Hank from unleashing hell in the streets of the city.
In the lounge Hank rubbed his daughter's shoulder when he saw how upset she was getting. Antonio understood Hank wanting to be there for Jordan, but he also didn't want Hank telling Jordan to withhold anything from the case.
"Alright Jo, take your time. Start when you're ready" Jay told her softly.
She picked her nails and took a deep breath. "Eva and I had a study session. I was gonna walk here. I took a shortcut. I looked into an alley and I saw two guys fighting. Then I saw a third person come up and shoot both of them. I screamed, he ran. I can't be too sure if he saw me. But I saw him"
"Can you describe what he looked like?" Antonio said next.
"Why don't we let her take a break?" Hank looked to his detectives.
"Hank a word please"
The two went from the lounge to Hank's office closing the door. Antonio looked at him.
"Look I know emotions and tensions are high right now but Jordan needs to tell us everything. I don't want her holding anything back"
"You would think I'd tell Jordan to lie in a criminal investigation?"
"To protect her, yes. Because we both know if Jordan gets outed as the witness it's not gonna be good"
"I would NEVER tell her to lie during a case. She knows to never lie about anything period"
"Then you wouldn't have a problem with letting Jay finish interviewing her alone"
"Fine"
Hank stormed past Antonio and out to the squad. "Where are we with our two vics?"
"The two deceased brothers, Marcas and Danny O'Connor, looks like they were part of the Irish mob here in Chicago. Marcas was 22 and he has quite the rap sheet, armed robbery, assault, assault with a deadly weapon, battery, battery with a deadly weapon, and it goes on and on. Danny, he just turned 19, followed in his big brother's footsteps, armed robbery, assault, battery, battery with a deadly weapon and so much more" Adam read from the white board.
Something popped into Hank's head. "Watch Jordan don't let her go anywhere"
Before anyone could say anything he walked out, Erin chased after him. "Hank, where are you going"
"Don't worry about it"
"Hank!"
The older man stopped in his place and turned to face her. He went to her. "I'm keeping Jordan safe. That's the only thing you need to know"
"You can't shut us out"
"I'm not, I'm going to meet someone and I'm coming back. Don't let Jordan leave. Until we catch this son of a bitch, she doesn't leave our sight"
"You can't pull her out of school"
"Wanna bet?"
"Hank it's ok to be scared. Nothing is going to happen to her"
"We thought that just a few months ago and I almost lost her"
"She has the best team around protecting her. We won't let anything happen to her. I promise"
"I'll be back, don't let Jo leave the building"
He then left and all Erin did was sigh going back in.
In the lounge, Jordan refused to give a description of the guy she was too scared. One thing the teen knew, she knew what happened to people who snitched in Chicago. She didn't wanna be one of those people.
"Jo, I promise you that you're completely safe" Jay told her gently.
"I don't wanna. He could come after me, my dad, Justin, Olive, Daniel. I don't want that to happen" She shook her head. "I don't want anything happening to them and it's my fault. I can't do that to them. I won't. I'm sorry Jay"
"It's ok Jo"
The teen left and went to her father's office and closed the door, she hid under the desk. One hiding place she always hid under his desk because she knew that would be one place she'd always be safe and nobody would think to look for her.
Jay left the lounge with a sigh, they all looked to him.
"Did she say anything?" Kevin asked from his desk.
"She said she saw two men fighting so I'm gonna say she saw Marcas and Danny fighting then a third person came up and shot both of them. She said she isn't sure if the person saw her but she saw them" Jay replied.
"Get a description?" Adam asked.
He shook his head. "Jo was too scared"
Erin and Alvin glanced at each other. Erin nodded and went to see her sister in Hank's office. She opened the door and went in closing the door behind her.
"Jordy? Sweetie" She called softly.
The female detective knew her sister like the back of her hand, rounding Hank's desk she bent down to see the thirteen-year-old asleep. Smiling softly she tucked some loose hair behind her ear and tucked the blanket around her.
"I'm so sorry you've been through so much the past few months. It was my fault. I failed to protect you when he got loose. I'm so sorry Jordy"
Meanwhile
Hank made it to his social club, he knew they probably had heard something about the recent murders. Maybe something that'll be enough to where his little girl won't be in any danger or won't make her a target.
An older guy, Carmichael had seen him. "Hank, my friend. What can I do for you"
"I need some information"
"What kind?"
"My little one, Jordan, she was at the wrong place at the wrong time and saw something she shouldn't have. All we know on the vics are their names, Marcas and Danny O'Connor. Irish mob"
"I knew it was a matter of time before someone dropped those boys"
"Do you have any idea who?"
"My guess would be the Mikhailova family. Between them two families, the streets could easily rain blood. Hank, if the little one did happen to see anything. You may wanna get her out of town till this blows over. They may not hesitate to hurt her"
Hank felt his heart drop. Would he really have to send his little girl away just to keep her safe? He'd have to trust someone to keep his baby girl safe. This wasn't happening.
"Thanks Carmichael"
"Not a problem but you may wanna do what I said Hank, get her out now"
All he did was nod as he left, he went and got into his car and sat there for what seemed like hours. He would most likely send his baby girl away to keep her safe and protected. He'd have to trust someone else with his little girl. There was a very small group of people that Hank trusted. He first thought of his son and daughter in law, Jordan, on an Army base, that would be perfect. Nobody would be able to get on the base except Military personnel.
Then there was the SVU squad over in New York, he knew Olivia and her squad would protect Jordan at any and all cost. They were practically family. Over the past few months Jordan grew a great bond with Olivia, she helped the young teen after the whole Yates situation. She had an amazing bond with all of them.
The older man didn't know what to do, if things played out wrong they could get the case taken and it would be handed off to another unit but most likely it'll go cold and never be solved and his little girl would be in danger forever. He started driving, he drove and had ended up at a cemetery he walked and walked till he ended up in front of a grave.
Anna Carter
Beloved Mother, daughter, sister and friend to everyone. Gone but never forgotten.
Tears burned heavily in his eyes, he only ever came here with Jordan. The two would come on Anna's birthday and Mother's day. He hardly came here alone. It may have been 13 years without her but the pain was still like an old wound. It still hurt.
There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't think of her or even his first wife, Camille. After Camille he was so heart broken he didn't think he'd ever love someone again but eventually he did. Anna helped him heal and find that happiness again. Then they had their own little baby. Their little Jordan. Not even five months later Anna was gone forever. Their little girl would be forced to grow up without her mother. Similar to Justin. After that he swore off relationships for good. All he needed were his children.
He bent down to the grave and gently traced his fingers across the coolness of the headstone and a couple of tears fell. "Hey Anna. I need your help on what to do. Our little girl saw something that she shouldn't have and now she's possibly a target. I don't know what to do. It's like I'm failing her. I failed her when I let her go to a strange guy's house and didn't check into it right away. I failed her just a few months ago when that bastard Yates got her. I don't know what to do. I wish you were here to help me and tell me what I should do. Everything I do I feel it's not good enough, it's not enough to keep her safe. I failed with Justin one too many times. I don't wanna do that with Jo. You belong here with us. Not here in the ground"
He looked up at the now night time sky, the sky was clear, the stars twinkled in the dark sky. The full moon shined brightly. "Tell me what I should do Anna. I feel so lost without you. I've been lost without you all these years"
What Hank didn't know was that Alvin was behind him, Alvin knew a few places his best friend would go to gather his thoughts. The silos. Camille's grave. Anna's grave. He went over. Hank glanced over his shoulder.
"How'd you know?"
"Lucky guess"
"I don't know what to do Al. I can't lose my baby girl again. What do I do?"
"You get Jo to a safe place then we hunt for this son of a bitch"
"I thought about Justin and Olive but they aren't home. I do have an old friend I can call"
He pulled out his phone and looked in his contacts and looked at a name. His thumb hovered over the number and finally he pressed down and put the phone to his ear. After it rang a few times the other person answered.
"Benson" The woman answered.
"Olivia, it's Hank Voight," Hank replied.
"Hank? Are you alright? Is Jo alright?"
"No. Not really. She seen something she shouldn't have"
He wasn't gonna publicly announce his daughter was a witness to a murder and put her in even more danger. Thankfully Olivia understood what he was talking about and didn't question it.
"She'll be safe with me and my people Hank"
"Thank you"
"When should we be expecting you?"
"Soon"
"I'll be on the lookout"
"Thanks Olivia"
"Not a problem"
He hung up and Alvin put a gentle hand on his shoulder. "You're doing the right thing man"
"Am I?"
"It's to ensure Jo's safety"
"I keep telling myself that"
"Let's go"
"I need to make a stop before we go back to the district"
Alvin nodded. They both left, Alvin drove Hank home. Hank had to pack some of his daughter's stuff. He took a suitcase and started putting clothes inside neatly. He folded up a few of Justin's shirts for her. He packed her favorite blanket she had since she was a baby, she kept it as a reminder of her mother. He grabbed her back pack and put her hair brush and other stuff in there. He carried the backpack downstairs to the basement.
He went over to his safe and punched the code in, opening it he grabbed a few stacks of cash and put it in there. He made sure there was enough to get her by. Who knew how long she'd be gone. A few days. Weeks. A month. Only time would tell.
Once he had the suitcase and backpack packed they left for the district. The team working endlessly trying to solve this. Hank and Alvin walked up, a sad painful look on Hank's face. If they had to guess. Hank has made a decision on what to do and it was gonna be a painful one. Nobody had said a word as Hank walked to his office and closed the door.
Jordan was in her father's chair playing when she saw him, she smiled but her smile dropped seeing the look on his face. She went over to him.
"Daddy, what's wrong?"
Hank guided her over to the couch and she sat on his knee like she did when she was younger. He looked at her with tears burning in his eyes.
"Jo, my sweet little girl" He hugged her and kissed her head. "Just know I'm only doing this because I love you"
She looked worried and scared. "Doing what? What are you talking about?"
"Baby, what you saw earlier were two very dangerous men get killed by someone who's more dangerous" He swallowed the lump forming in his throat. This was gonna kill him to say. "Jo, I have to send you away for a little while. Just until we get the case solved"
When he said those words tears began spilling from her eyes. "But...I don't want to. I wanna stay here with you. I don't wanna go away" She cried.
The teen threw her arms around him hugging him. Hank couldn't help but hug her tightly. He kissed her head a couple times. "I know sweet girl. Believe me I know. I don't wanna do it either but it's just for a little while. I promise. The second the case is over I'll come and get you"
All Jordan did was cry and hold onto her father, Hank didn't blame her. He held her just as tight and protectively. He was crying himself.
"I-I..I love you daddy" She cried into his shoulder.
"I love you too my baby girl. I love you more than my own life"
He then set her down and went to get something out of his desk. He pulled out a dog tag that had a thumb print on it and another small ring. He went back over to her sitting down. He took her necklace off that held Anna's engagement ring, unsnapping it carefully he slid another ring on. She looked at her father with a confused but curious look.
"What's that ring daddy?"
"This was the wedding ring I was gonna give to your mother when we got married. I never had the chance to give it to her. I'd know she'd want you to have it. Now you can always wear and carry her engagement and wedding rings with you everywhere you go"
He gently put it on her and watched as the two little gold rings hung around her neck very slightly touching her shirt. He then pulled out the dog tag necklace, on it was a thumb print. His thumb print.
"When I put your brother in the Army I made him this as something to remember me by. I made you one too now" He put it on her and it hung next to the two small rings. "Now you'll have me and your mother with you at all times. Whenever you wanna see us or want us we'll be with you"
She hugged him again. "I love you daddy"
He held her close and protectively. "I love you too my sweet baby"
Soon the father and daughter stood up, Jordan grabbed her sweater and they walked out the office. The teen went desk to desk hugging everyone. Lastly she hugged Mouse. Hank waited for her at the staircase, with a small smile she turned to Adam.
"Adam, it's gonna be on when I come back"
He returned the smile. "I accept the challenge kiddo"
"Let's go sweetheart, we have a long drive ahead of us" Hank says smiling softly at her.
They went down stairs, Trudy was still on duty. Jordan went and hugged her godmother. Trudy hugged her then looked at Hank. He gave her the, we'll talk later' look.
After all the goodbyes Hank and Jordan left the district. It was almost 1 am which meant it would be almost 1 in the afternoon when he would make it to New York.
Hank drove and drove. Jordan was fast asleep in the back seat covered up by his jacket. All he did was glance in the rear view mirror and watch his little girl sleep peacefully. He was also making sure they weren't followed.
After a very long night and a very long drive, early the next afternoon Hank had finally arrived in New York. He texted Olivia letting her know they were there. She had been at work as they were on a case.
They headed to her squad. When they arrived at the 16th precinct Jordan had put her backpack on and Hank wheeled her suitcase inside. They went up to her squad, when they got there they saw everyone working. Fin, Amanda, and Carisi were talking when Amanda noticed the older father and daughter. She had gone over to them.
"Sergeant Voight, Jo, hi. Are you guys ok?" She asked.
"Were fine, thank you. Is Olivia in?" Hank replied, holding his daughter's hand loosely.
"In her office last I saw"
"Thank you"
"Not a problem"
They walked over to the office and Hank knocked. He heard, "Come in!"
Opening the door Olivia was just finishing talking about a case with the ADA Rafel Barba. He smiled and excused himself. Olivia smiled seeing them.
"Hank, good to see you again," Olivia said.
"Good to see you too Olivia" Hank replied.
She then saw Jordan and smiled. She was glad she could help the teen when she could. "Nice to see you again Jo"
"Nice to see you too Olivia"
"You have any place she can go so we can talk?" Hank asked.
"We have a room right next store, I can get one of the others to stay with her" Olivia told him.
"I appreciate it"
Hank went and got his daughter set up in the room while Olivia had Carisi stay with her. Hank and Olivia were back in her office with the door closed.
"What's going on Hank?"
"Jo she was walking to the district. She witnessed the murder of two mobsters, the guy that most likely killed them is in the Russian mob. Normally I keep Jo under lock and key in Chicago but not with something like this. Not after what happened. If it was easy for Yates to trick her and get her. It could happen again. I wanna make sure nobody can find her except me and my people. I had to take her phone and give her a burner"
"Jo will be in excellent hands here with us. She'll be completely safe with me and my team. Hank, have you talked to anyone about what happened after the Yates situation?"
"I'm good"
All Olivia did was nod she wasn't gonna push the issue. Hank went to see his daughter one more time before he had to head back to Chicago. The teen and Carisi were playing a game when Hank walked in, the young detective took that as his cue to step out to leave the father and daughter alone.
Hank went over and hugged his baby girl close to him. "I love you daddy" she muttered.
"I love you too sweet girl, more than my own life" He kissed her head a couple times. "Be good for Olivia and the others. Mind your manners. Bed at a decent time"
"I understand"
"That's my girl"
After one last kiss to the head he hesitated pulling away. This wasn't right. He shouldn't have to send his little girl away. She should be with him back in Chicago. As dangerous as this case was he wasn't taking any chances. He'll be damned if he's gonna bury his little girl because of what she saw.
He then got up and left the room he made sure Olivia had Jordan's suitcase and backpack. Once he made sure they were in her possession he headed for the elevators as he felt his heart breaking. Jordan watched and chased after him.
"Daddy!"
Turning around Hank was pushed back with a force he looked down and picked her up effortlessly. He held her close, one hand holding the back of her head and the other hand resting on her back. The others watching sadly.
"I don't wanna go, I wanna stay with you". She muttered into his shoulder.
"I know baby, I know. I'll bring you home as soon as I can. I promise. I'll call and check on you every night" He told her softly.
Olivia and Fin had gone over, Hank had set Jordan down and she went to Fin. He put a protective hand on her shoulder.
"She'll be safely protected here, Sergeant" Fin assured him.
"Thank you". He bent down one final time. He looked at his little girl and wiped the tears away as they fell. "I love you baby girl. I love you more than my own life. Don't forget you're mother and I are always with you"
She grabbed the necklaces tightly. "I love you too daddy"
He kissed her forehead and looked at Olivia, she nodded assuring him Jordan will be safe and well looked after. After what seemed like forever he finally walked over to the elevator and got on leaving. Jordan watched on as tears flowed down her face as she reached out for her father.
They brought Jordan back to the room and they comforted her the best they could.
Hank was in his car and he felt numb. How does someone say goodbye to their child and leave them like that? That was one of the most painful things he had to do. Suddenly he screamed and hit the steering wheel then the passenger seat. Tears started to fall from his eyes again. He was gonna catch this son of a bitch if it was the last thing he did. And once that was done, he was gonna get his baby girl back. Come hell or high water he will do it. His two main goals, catch this killer. And bring his little girl home. Nothing else mattered.
